Review of Econo Lodge Lexington 2*

Checked in at 2pm on 6/21. There was a guy standing outside smoking. He didn't look to be of great character. 15 minutes later the phone in my room is ringing. (3 separate times back to back) The phone wasn't even working. Each time I picked it up there was nothing. No dial tone, no voice, etc. So I didn't know how it was even ringing. (I am a female and alone mind you. ) several hours later someone knocked on the door. Checked the peep hole… No one there. Asked someone who was sitting out in their vehicle… they said some guy in a red shirt. Not even 10 minutes later there's a knock again. A girl and a guy are standing there at my door and say "oh I'm sorry" and walk off. At this point I am freaked out. I call the front desk and he puts a do not disturb sign on the door handle. At 8:30pm I left. There is no way I could stay the night there alone and get any type of sleep. As far as the room goes… you get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting anything fancy. Money was tight and I had to get something cheap. I didn't see any roaches or bugs in my room. There were more burn holes in the blanket than I could count. The material around the box spring was split open. The air conditioner worked way better than what I could ask for. A tad noisy but nothing I couldn't get past. I asked for a smoking room but the icon on the door was a no smoking. Asked again just to be sure and he said it was "mislabeled" and it was indeed a smoking room. It's right across from a gentlemans club. If it weren't for the company they keep and how frightened I was, I could have dealt with the room itself. But I was afraid of having my car broke into and being harassed all night.
