Rooms were clean and the staff was nice. Tons of construction though and barely any parking in the current state (Feb '18). I am sure that will get worked out once all the construction is done and the parking lot is paved. There was a convention that evening as well, so that may have had something to do with it. Decent place for the price, and the pool was nice.

Great place on the Atlantic Ocean. Beautiful beach. Hotel and management were fantastic. All newly renovated rooms. We will be back when we visit St. Augustine again. Highly recommend:)

We had a wonderful time at the beach here. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation, but besides a little noise we were not bothered by it. Our room was great! We had a balcony over the parking lot, but could still see the ocean and beautiful sunrises. The pool was perfect. And the location to the beach was amazing. Just a quick walk through the pool area and we were on the beach. I feel in love with St Augustine on this trip and we will definitely be returning to Holiday Isle once construction is complete!

This place is currently under heavy construction. Over the phone they make it appear not to be a big deal, but it causes a great deal of inconvenience. They attempted to charge me a differential increased price from Friday to Saturday, even though that was never stated on the phone. Finally, I requested a later check out and the women on the phone was incredibly rude and refused to accommodate this request. I had a lovely time in St. Augustine with my wife, but I will never stay at this hotel again.

Beautiful new Guy Harvey Resort. Loved the vibe of this place. This is a wonderful place for a wedding, inside or outside and your guests will be thrilled with your choice. The employees go out of their way, a 5 star staff. No wedding plans? Just go for drinks and enjoy St Augustine views.

The front desk folk seemed a little unfriendly to us. Other hotel staff were super welcoming and helpful, however. We brought a dog and liked our room. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The location is beautiful, can't beat the beach access. The floors are all tile on the first floor at Lea, so sound was an issue, lots of echoes, even though all guests were very considerate and quiet.

Given 1 start because multiple Roaches were crawling up the walls and on furniture. When told the staff just said "sorry about that". There is also major renovations so there was not any breakfast at all. Our room was three down from the noisiest elevator ever, which woke us at dawn. The elevator was constant. No sleep to be had after sun up. Otherwise nice room, updated bathroom, and comfortable beds.

Amazing weekend great big rooms had partial ocean view. Still an amazing view of the ocean there is a lot of work being done but didn’t mind it is a beautiful place with all the work being done I can’t wait to see what it looks like when they finish. Great staff and great place to stay will definitely be going back.

Jeanette at the front desk was able to check us in early and she was very friendly and had answers for all our questions. She gave us ideas on places to eat etc. The whole staff was always greeting us and telling us to have a nice day every time we saw them. Our housekeeper Chanterra was the sweetest! Our room was beautiful and CLEAN! We stayed in one of their top floor oceanfront rooms with a very comfortable king size bed. The bed is very important to me being I have a very bad back, so staying at the best of hotels hasn't always been pleasant being their mattresses are not always comfortable. Thankfully Holiday Isle had a very very comfortable bed! We stayed for 3 nights and every night was a pleasure to go to sleep! I would definitely recommend this hotel! I look forward to stay again! Beautiful location right on the ocean!

The staff was excellent! The room was clean and well stocked! Loved the ocean view room! We were married in front of the ocean right in front of the hotel. It was perfect! We will definitely be back soon!

Even though the property is going through extensive renovations AND repair from Hurricane Irma, the rooms are nice and comfortable. The staff is friendly, prompt, and helpful. The part they have finished is beautiful and they are doing a wonderful job restoring the rest. It is one of the few places that sits right on the beach. The kids loved the bunk beds and we appreciated the privacy wall.

Nice place to stay. I have been there many times and have enjoyed my stay every time. A bit pricey, but worth it. Every room is beach facing with balconies. Nice for those morning coffees or evening drinks. Very close to historic district also and just a short walk to the beach or the pool area.

Great staff, very nice and friendly as well as helpful. The hotel itself features standard looking rooms, and pool. However this hotel is located closer to the beach and features a small stand on the boardwalk to the beach. This hotel is nicer than most within its proximity. I would recommend it!

My wife and I just stayed for one night… The room was renovated, bathroom was very modern and new. No HD in the room, the construction… Room was basic, beds were comfortable. The staff wanted $20 on your card for incidentals, they stated they don't take cash? Who doesn't take cash? I've stayed in upscale hotels and they've taken cash. Their machine was down so they had to enter your card # manually. I informed them that was a lot of work for $ 20 and then you have that important credit card information laying around? They looked at me like I had 6 heads and said "Sir we shred this information. " This handwritten information makes it easily accessible to anyone which is why I prefer to utilize cash for incidentals. The front desk staff needs training in customer service. The $$ that they're using to renovate needs to be used to train the staff in hospitality as well in diversity training… The pictures of the hotel look nice but don't be fooled. Don't waste your $$$.

Clean room and comfy big bed. Great view. However there was an event going on which welcomed anyone to come even if you weren't staying at the hotel which made the pool so full that we as guest couldn't use it and couldn't take our 9 month down for the music being so loud. Also the guest didn't have any parking due to this as well. We were not told at the time of booking or check in. While I support the cause of the event I felt it was poorly planned for guest. They are undergoing renovations which didn't really affect us. The room were very moist which caused our daughter breathing problems so I hope that issue is fixed with the renovation. We really didn't get to enjoy much because of the crowd from the event. House keeping wasn't friendly. Although staff was very nice. Really wish we could of enjoyed more of what this place has to offer. If you are wanting a quite relaxing weekend by pool and beach make sure to call and check for special events before hand. I'd stay here again if there was no event going on and the moisture in the rooms was not as bad.

We stayed here in 2016 and most recently in May 2017. They had renovations going on and the front was out of order at the time, but the staff and the location are awesome. Nick was at the desk and really treated us like family as did the rest of the from desk staff. One of the maintenance guys Kyle was really awesome and helpful as well and gave us a tour of the ocean front rooms that were being renovated and were almost complete. The hotel and rooms are very clean. It is now July and though I am just getting around to this review, I am sure the renovations look great. I will stay here every time I come back to St. Augustine and am looking forward to next year returning. If possible I may even get to come back this year before the season is over. I highly recommend this Hotel and I give it a Five Star rating in my book! Thanks for treating my wife and I like family!

Hotel is undergoing renovations as posted. Some people posted negative reviews based on the noise and comfort level due to the renovations on several sights. I'll skip that because it isn't a hotel flaw. You just have to deal with it. I didn't have an issue with it. I didn't see or hear much when I stayed; Friday afternoon and Saturday and Sunday. However I am sure different stages of construction would be different. I give this 1 star based on the current condition from outside inward, minus the ugly construction issues. The parking lot is like a dirt road they painted black. There are potholes, hills, and valleys that make it a mine field. You can park temporarily under a covered area for your check-in. There was one receptionist who was snotty and two who were not. I a reservation for a double bed room. I was told to take the elevator etc… I walked to the end of the building and didn't see an elevator. I went back and the girl says "as I told you"… So basically the rooms are in a separate building. What makes that an issue is that the buildings are not attached or covered. For out of town folks, you do not build a building in Florida this way. From June through the end of October starting at about 2pm every day, we get monsoons with sideways rain and lightning. So the journey began at 230pm with two bags and non-leather shoes from the reservation building to the rooms. I had the room key ready to go.

This place is a dump. Construction noise all day long, carpets filthy, large holes in parking lot, old doors that don't close. To top it off, two visits by the beach police on our floor in one night. One looking for a guy with a gun, the second for a domestic dispute in the hall. Both times we opened the door, we were greeted by police officers with guns drawn. Apparently the clientele is not the best here. Location to beach was fine, pool not heated and really cold. I wouldn't stay here again if it was the only place in town. Horrible!

Resort is under construction, but the staff is very friendly. The rooms are clean and the price is great! Highly recommend.

Pet friendly! Everyone was super nice to both me and my pets! Right on the ocean too. Would definitely stay again.

I slept in room 202. Overall it was a great hotel because the beds were comfortable, diverse amount of activities, and the people were nice.

Beautiful location right on the beach. Get a room on 4th or 5th floor facing north side or ocean view you'll be happy you did. Only reason I gave 4 stars. Needs to be updated like new furnishing, bathroom upgrades in tub. Beds were comfy. Balcony was awesome but be careful gate kinda flimsy. Pool was awesome with a tiki bar! Breakfast buffet was awesome. And the staff was so nice especially the frobot office clerk Greer. I'll be staying again for sure! Oh yea close to everything!

Clean, pet friendly, oceanfront, and close to downtown, etc. Downside is the hotel needs updated furniture, etc. But for the price who can really complain? You get what you pay for and I would definitely stay there again because my pet needs a vacation too! :)

I loved they could do better lighting otherwise it was very nice all thinks to the housekeepers who kept your room very nice they were very nice the staffs all thinks to Victoria I loved it I stayed in room 313 it was so nice I would stay there for good if I had to.

Terrible staff. Terrible Wi-Fi connection. Terrible smell. Terrible stains. Terrible roaches. Terrible sense of style when designing hotel in general. All the pictures on the hotels website look great, the views look great. But walking into this disaster tonight definitely explains why this hotel is listed out of the 9 hotels in Saint Auggie Beach. $115 for a good twelve inch view of the ocean from our balcony, could've got a nicer room, better connection, better staff, and FREE breakfast at the nice Holiday Inn Express down the street for $50 cheaper! Don't waste your time on this stain and roach infested dump!

We (wife & I with 2 kids) stay 2 days last week, room 526. Not the newest hotel but well maintained. Only issues we had was closes elevator we had near us not work on last day when we were leaving and that battery for remote we running out of juice. The location is the best part of this place. Right off the beach with access from the pool. Not a young crowd location but u can't expect that from an old town like St. Augustine near by. Beautiful beach, water, n sand. We will definitely be coming back to the area. Nice location shops around n great places to eat like MOJO in Downtown n little pizza place at public shopping center by the hotel. Drinks at the bar were good for the price, $9. Cris was good friendly bartender. Orders cheese fries with bacon. Dame they were good. Room had north beach view. Only suggestion I can make is please put a stop side at beginning of entrance. Does not have one and at night, it is very hard to see where the access road ends n main road begins at night.

Filthy! I booked this hotel for a week. July 19-26. It was a get away vacation for my daughter, 2 year old grandson and my self. Check in was quick and easy. The lobby was dated and smelled strange. We had reserved a ocean view room overlooking the pool. The hallway smelled of smoke, sweat and mildew. We had a corner room. It was extremely dated. The pool was nasty. All kinds of things in the bottom and floating on top of the water. There were Gnats everywhere. We ordered lunch from the tikki bar. It was decent, but you could not eat poolside because of the gnats. The bartender said that it was a problem all over St. Augustine Beach. (Not true). When we got into the room later, it had not been cleaned. The bath room is tiny and full of stains. Wear flip flops to shower and do not let your children SIT is the tub, shower them off. I was horrified. The air conditioner was extremely loud. I had booked a room with queen beds, these were only full size. One bed had a duvet, the other only had a sheet. The next day, I had to chase down some towels. I had stripped the beds and put all the bed linens in the floor so the housekeeper would put clean sheets on the bed. As I was taking the duvet cover off the bed, I noticed some red spots on the duvet. They had not been visible because they were facing the mattress near the foot of the bed. I don't know if it was blood or not. I probably don't want to know. The housekeeper had been by late in the afternoon.

I stayed here for 5 nights with my family. To start the Wi-Fi barely worked and it was also not password protected. The staff skipped our room several times when they were supposed to be cleaning. We didn't have our do not disturb sign up and we found them in the next room over watching TV. We told them that there would four people in our room and they still never gave us enough towels. We called two times asking for more towels and they never came. We ran out of toilet paper and even after calling them they didn't bring any which left us to use tissues which we eventually ran out of too. Ended up never getting towels and we had to call twice just to get toilet paper sent to our room. Very displeased with the filthy floors of our hotel room and the lack of outlets. Both the elevator and the hallways were very hot and the elevator ran extremely slowly. On top of that the lobby and the rest of the hotel were very outdated and ugly.

The building needs to be renovated. We were hoping to have assistance with our luggage but there was none. Since we weren't familiar with St. Augustine the hotel was difficult to find at night because the marquee was not lit up. The Wi-Fi was free; however very slow. It would have been nice if there was a continental breakfast each morning. On Saturday we ate breakfast in the hotel and there was only one "waitress". She was clearly over-worked and we had a big party and felt bad every time we asked her for something. We enjoyed the tiki-bar and liked the proximity of the beach.

The good, on the beach, nice size room, clean sheets, and close to the Historic site. The bad the whole place needs a update. Over priced breakfast buffet, there was no fridge or microwave in our room. Check in was at 4p. M so we got there a little early hoping to check in was told wait to wait till 4 well when that time came our room wasnt ready yet, we had to wait till 430 wasnt even offered a different room. Just sorry the hotel was booked up. Pool was over croweded, ordered a pina colada from the tiki bar that had a funny taste, when I told the barmaid her reply was well no one else has complained about the drinks so I asked her pour more pineapple juice, I felt like I had to drink it. Definitely not the best pina colada. My husband witness a manager be rude to a employee about some dusty table. I thought to myself with all the other major updates they needs who's going to notice the dust. Glady we spent our time on the beach and in historic part of town. Hopefully they will realize they need to make improvements.

Yes is old, and in need of major changes I was lucky to get the Side view of the ocean, rooms are clean, take your own pillow, but seriously what can you expect for the money you pay?. Is not a 5 star people. I never got into the pool, just looked unsanitary! If you're spending all day at the beach or old town, near by restaurants you just need. Bed. Seriously, and for me was convenient steps up to the beach. Downsize no handicaps amenities my child is wheelchair bound so it was hard to take him up to the steps to the beach. I explain ed to them they need a handicap ramp. Because when I called to book they assured me it was. And is not. Not going back because is not fit for. My child. But really don't complain if you know is not a 5 star hotel.

Warning do not stay here — 12 reasons why 1. Old, outdated and stinky. 2. Tub would not drain while taking a shower. 3. Rooms had a unusual aroma. 4. The fan didn't work in the bathroom. 5. Mold and rust color stains in the bathroom. 6. Pool was small and overcrowded. 7. Tiki bar was a absolutely disgusting. Dirty rags, broken equipment, and expensive. Not what I expected! 8. On several occasions I saw staff not working and hanging out behind the dumpsters. 9. If you get a pool/ocean view room request 4th or 5th floor so you can actually see the ocean. 10. No privacy on the balcony at all. Just a bad design for that. 11. The pool gave my daughter a rash. 12. Walls are super thin. Neighbors were up all night partying. * When I spoke to the GM and expressed my frustration with the accomedations he explained that the hotel was built 43 years ago and that's the reason for the poor drainage in the bathrooms and razor thin walls. This is the first time in my life I have left a hotel before my check out date. It was that bad! The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 is because the GM refunded a % of my bill. * The hotel is in a good location on the beach. It has a lot of potential in right hands. For example, the tiki bar could be a cash cow if it wasn't so mis-managed. Instead it was so dilapidated that I would rather go to the store and make my own drinks.

This was the worst place I have ever had to walk into. I have never asked for a refund on a hotel but this was a no brainier. The lobby had a very strong smell of mold and smoke. When I asked the receptionist she told me it smelled like smoke because of people smoking outside, LOL. When you enter the hall to the rooms it smells like a wet dog! The room smelled musty and closed up. The vent in the bathroom was so covered with dust you could not tell it was a vent at all. The amazing part is they charged us $137 a night when I would have had a hard time paying 75. Run and don't look back.

The Holiday Isle Oceanfront Resort in St. Augustine Beach is a much older building, and this was immediately apparent upon entering the room. Our room, along with all the other rooms on the second floor, had no balcony. The room had tattered, green carpet, an old wooden t. V. Stand that used to house the box t. V. There was a sour smell, I guess from the room being closed up most of the time, and no way to let in any fresh air. Hence, the need for all rooms to have a balcony. We had to wait about an hour before we could take a shower, due to the fact the water wasn't getting hot. The maintenance guy had to reset the boiler. What's more, I found a long strand of hair on supposedly clean towel. The only good thing about this spot is the pool area, which leads straight to the beach. To top it all off, upon checking out, not one of the staff inquired about our stay. It would have been nice to have someone of the staff ask if our stay had been an enjoyable one.

My wife booked this aparently without reading the reviews. Recent reviews are being polite. It has great potential with updates and better cleaning to its public hard surfaces (walls/floors/ceiling tiles) througout the interior. The pool area and view from our ocean side room on 3rd floor was awesome but any floor below would not have much of an ocean view — the bed was not plush but it was comfortable. Perk a nice big TV and the view from room 328, the negative hard surfaces are not clean but bathroom, bed, tables in room were clean. Overall stayed here for the view of the ocean which it delivered but would not stay again.

Check in quick. Pets accepted, pets can come on beach but must be on a leash. Beds were surprisingly comfortable. Location was ON THE BEACH with a pool! How can you not like that? Rooms were clean, but dated. For the price and location, I will come back. Offer military discount as well.

Nice pool, great beach access, but the rooms are not great. Pet friendly, which is great, but with the smell of urine.

Just returned from a two night trip where we stayed at Holiday Isle. The place is very ran down and looks like some of the rooms may be in the middle of renovation. However, we were in a room on the 4th floor, facing south and it was a dump! The bathroom was falling a part with old shower fixtures and popcorn ceiling falling apart. Stepped out on the balcony and there were leftover beer cans from the previous people who had stayed. We would have asked for another room, but the place was packed due to a baseball tournament and other tourist in town. The photos on their website have been heavily "Photoshopped". We will never stay here again! St. Augustine was fun though.

When I pulled in I thought I was at the wrong hotel. I immediately pulled up the website to double check. The photos on the website must of been from years ago. Anyways, I checked in and headed to my room with my three kids, youngest being 8 weeks old. Heading to our room the hallways looked old and smelt of mildew and dogs barking! We entered our room (again I checked the photos) and was DISGUSTED. Mold on the walls, the ceiling had water stains, the carpet looked dirty, the furniture needed to be dusted. The rooms were extremely small. I also had asked for a room with a microwave for the baby and if you want a pool view room you apparently are trading in that for a microwave. I went to the front desk who the girl was very nice when I showed her the photos on the website and said that there must be confusion somewhere because I booked this room. She gave me 4 keys to all the rooms next to us to look in and see if we wanted to switch. Each room was just as bad as the first so we decided to leave. My son was sneezing uncontrollably from all the dust. They were very nice and gave us a full refund. The worse part was packing all three kids up at midnight and finding a hotel late at night. Thankfully we did up the road by 2am we were finally settled.

The customer service lady was very dingy! we arrived at 3am, wasn't into a room until 4 am even with our reservations! Very frustrating after sitting in a car all day and being exhausted.

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We read the reviews before we stayed there and kept our expectations realistic. The front desk staff are the most caring I have seen at any hotel I have stayed at and they made our stay very comfortable. The room we got was ocean front on the fourth floor and I found it cozy. The hotel has some age to it and being right on the beach you have to understand that there will be some wear and tear to it. The price we paid was still well worth the stay and I would recommend this hotel to family and friends, we will definitely be back soon.

Durty, old, smelss bad, patetic.

At first I was concerned I had made a mistake. Have you ever heard, "Don't judge a book by it's cover"? That's what I'm telling you. The hotel it's self character, the parking lot needs a new coat of black tar and the hotel needs some updates. however! over all, I give this hotel an outstanding review! every employee was dynamite. They were all very courteous, smiles on their faces, never a negative word, helpful about the knowledge of their city! Others staying in the hotel were very friendly retirees, families, and up coming professionals. Location, location, location! Yes there are other hotels on the strip that look better on the outside. However they cannot beat the luxury of the location and ease of this hotel walking right out the back door to a heated pool and right onto the soft white sand beach. We will be back, next time for a longer stay.

All seemed to have an enjoyable time. Food was great and the staff, Nellie, Celeste, Chris and Greg were great. Bridgett, at the front desk, was fantastic. Understood that she was leaving. She was an asset to the facility and I'm sure she'll be missed.

I had a great time with my friends and family there. The hotels beach is amazing and also Grant the manager did a excellent job helping me feel at home. I use a wheelchair for mobility and he accommodated my every need. They also are very kid and pet friendly.
