We chose to stay at the Royal Inn based upon other reviews, and we were not disappointed. The room was spotless, and the bed was comfortable. The owner had come in and turned on the air before our arrival so it would be cool when we got there. This is an older property, so don't expect lavish decor and amenities. It is basic, but very comfortable and quiet. I especially enjoyed the snow-white, crisp linens. There was also an abundance of electrical outlets which allowed us to charge all of our gadgets. I don't often see that in motel rooms. If you are looking for luxury, keep going. If you want comfort, cleanliness, and friendly service, the Royal Inn is for you.

This is the best cheap, old motel I have ever stayed in. It was very clean and very comfortable, staff was very friendly. I could hear large trucks in the highway early in the morning, and the pool is permanently closed (It didnt advertise one). But it was a perfect place to rest when we were too tired to drive home. Best grouper at nearby seafood restaurant.

Reserved one night through Expedia and found the owners had canceled upon arrival. After questioning the person for a minute he finally said it was canceled because the credit card information was not received and that they had sent me an email. They had no room available so I went elsewhere. Once I got home from vacation I checked my emails and I did find that they sent me an email saying that they do not accept third party credit cards. I had used my VISA debit card. They did not call only emailed me and the staff was not helpful or informative about the cancellation when I arrived and found out I didn’t have a room ready. So if you reserve online make sure you use the correct type of card.

Very pleasant experience. Love kitsch! Very little has changed here sine the 1950s. However, freshly painted, spotlessly clean, nice manager. Fridge, microwave in room. Coffee in office. Near fast food, Walmart.

He only reason this Old-Florida motel didn't get 5 stars was that coffee was the extent of morning refreshment. In the day of ubiquitous breakfasts, whether continental, buffet, MAP or otherwise, a hotel or motel without one makes it more expensive for those who will want something to eat before resuming their journey. That said, it was entirely charming and very inexpensive; it's right on the "main drag" — US 98 — and easily found, as well as centrally located for any running around — including to Tallahassee, nearby — you might want to do. The owners are engaging and pleasant, and service their rooms themselves. Arrayed in the classic ground-level, park-in-front-of-your-room style, it's been there since the 50s. Yet, the modernization has all the usual amenities, but retains the charm of that era. For those so inclined, there are both Bibles and Bhagavad Gita, the latter of which we were encouraged to take with us. We regret not having done so, based on others we encountered not long after we'd stayed there; perhaps if we are there again, we'll take them up on it. Given that the Huddle House is just down the road (see a review I wrote about there as well), the absence of the usual carbohydrate-laden hotel breakfast isn't much of a deal. But the room rate certainly was, at — depending on which of the chain hotels you might have otherwise chosen in town — a third to a half less, affordable. Nice place.

Called 3 other motels as we drove, stopped at 2 others and no one came to the door. It was about 10:30pm. Got to Royal Inn and reviews was good and the guy came to the door in just a few seconds and was very nice. I never write reviews but the room was spotless and trust me I inspected every place in bath and floor and bed and mattress. Clean room, Cold AC and friendly service! Thank you Royal Inn.

I will never stay here again! I was in town for a paper mill maintenance outage and everyone had jacked the room prices up… I paid $426.00 for 6 nights. I stayed only 4… the owner flat refused to give a refund for the 2 unused days. Knowing full well that he would rent that room as soon as I checked out because of the shortage of available rooms in town. He would not give a weekly rate only a daily. I understand if given a weekly rate you are not entitled to a refund for unused days… he became obnoxious when I asked for a refund!

I don't know about you but rooms are rented to shower and sleep. This is by far the cleanest place for the price range we look for. Who cares if some of the caulk in the tub needs repair. Nice management also. Will recommend to anyone.

For $46 top. Motel from 1949. Beautiful beds, delicious coffee in the morning.

Retro-looking motel and a very friendly staff. Stayed here several times and never disappointed. Highly recommend if you are looking for the cheapest rate in town and a very clean motel!

I thought this was going to be a cheap place, but I was wrong! Only $46! It was clean, the room smelled good, big parking spaces in front of the room, and most of all the bed was great and I want to know what they used to make the sheets and pillow case to smell so good! I am totally impressed this place, and I travel every week.

I called to reserve a room and I was told no pets & no children… yet 3 weeks ago someone posted the 20 pet fee was reasonable… I guess they pick and choose who stays in their hotel… which is strange because while yes they CAN have these policies they DO have to apply them to everyone… otherwise it's prejudiced.

It was a good no frills motel. The owner was very nice and the room was clean and quiet. The place is dated, but you can tell it is cared for. We had our dog with us, and the $20 pet fee is reasonable. Overall it was a decent stop along our road trip and we would stay there again next time we are in Perry.

Nice retro lodging. Clean comfortable safe with most big hotel amenities. Owner on site and good guy.

Sweet little retro motel. Clean and reasonably priced. Fast Wi-Fi. Highly recommend.

Unfortunately I have to give this a 1-star. Basically turned away at the door. We had reservations in advance online. We arrived. We were asked if we had a pet. I said I did. He said we can't stay there. Etc etc etc. Basically, this owner did not clarify his pet policy online. So when we made plans and drove hundreds of miles to expect to stay there at 1 am that morning, got turned away. To be honest, felt like the owner was being predjudice against us. So, if you're going to plan on staying here, keep in mind owners are people and can turn you away for whatever bizarre reason they imagine. He also did not feel that he had to have a reason to make his decision valid.

Very large room, huge king bed, desk with comfy chair, sofa, separate bathroom — all at an extremely affordable price! Both of the staff I spoke with were incredibly friendly. Definitely staying here again next time through. Also, just down the road from grocery store and fast food — best location in town!

Nice quiet older motel. The owners really take pride in it and keep it up. It is also pet friendly.

Friendly staff very clean refrigerator microwave cable with TV and sofa they do not serve breakfast but they do have a good ice machine and a pop machine that's very reasonable compared to other motels.

Owners very hospitable & nice. Older property, but, very well maintained. Extremely, clean & well furnished. Rooms are extra large. We were there just 1 night, but, would definitely stay there again.

This motel is all about the beds. Vipul changes out the mattresses regularly and the sheets are to die for! Great value too!

Motel is dirty, filthy, infested by bed bugs. They will attack you when you turn off the light. Room smells like mold/rotten stuff. Microwave connected to the power outlet by the surge protected extension cord so works only for 10 sec. No coffee and forget about breakfast (maybe due to sanitary condition it's even better). Water in the tub/shower yellow to brown. Second star for the crew, nice, friendly and helpful.

It may be an older hotel but the owner is great and super accommodating. We came in last minute after evacuating for a hurricane and he took great care of us in our time of need. The rooms are clean and conveniently located in town.

My boyfriend was sceptical of using a motel, but I convinced him to give this one a try vs the hotel down the road and we were both very pleased! The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the front office guy was really nice. We paid half of the price here that we would have paid at the hotel down the road. We would deffinetly stay again if we need to.

I never give bad reviews. This is a first. We arrive at 10 pm and owner says no cats allowed even though his hotel says pets allowed. We offer to keep our cat in the car since we are only sleeping overnight for a few hours. He responded by saying he had bad experience with cat owners and tears our reservation in front of us. Then completely ignores me and directs the rest of the conversation to my husband. Not only does he automatically assume we will trick him, but he is also sexist and condesending.

Unbelievable. Very Clean. Very comfortable bed. Clean. Very clean bedding, AC, NO COFFEE MAKER but Clean clean clean. Will stay here again.

Nice, clean motel. Owners are friendly and all about accommodating the customers. Pool was not open, needed maintenance. Only suggestion would be for pool to be up and running. Everything else was on point.

Great value! The owner is very personable and helpful. The room we had was large. We were able to fit our tandem bike and trailer and still have room for moving about. The place is dated but very clean and well maintained.

We love staying at the Royal INN in Perry. The parking lot has been completely redone. Our room had new curtains, bedspread and fresh smelling sheets. The rooms are very clean a d ha e nice smell. The owners are very nice and will accommodate any request if it is in their power to do so. Just a short drive to restaurants as well. I would recommend this place to anyone!

Great little hotel, clean, quiet, pet friendly. Actually it is well preserved old motel with great staff. I left my jacket by mistake and they drop shipped it to me without any hassle. Very economic and definitely will stay again!

Wonderful experience! Owner was friendly, rooms were spacious and immaculate, not one peep of noise. I had the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel. Only thing I wish they had was a pool. This hotel was definitely NOT a too good to be true kind of deal. I go to Perry about once a month, and will definitely be staying there every time! Thanks for a great experience.

Very impressed. Everything was clean and comfortable. Extra blankets were available in the dresser if needed. Affordable price. And Friendly staff. I had no trouble at all booking the room ahead of time on the phone, and staff was great about us showing up in the middle of the night. Coffee available in the morning was a nice plus too. Will be staying here again on future drive through trips.
