Quiet, nice room and comfortable bed. My room had a nice mountain view. Breakfast was decent with eggs, bacon, toast, fruit, cereal, etc. Location was perfect, on Mission at the west end of downtown Solvang with a well-stocked mini mart across the street.

Visited Solving with a good friend of mine. I didn't re realize how much I missed visiting here. I used to come to Solving with my grandparents who are from Denmark almost every weekend. So much to do but never had the experience of staying at one of Solvang's hotels. Holiday Inn Express was a great place. Clean huge rooms with patios offering lovely views day and night. Staff were extremely courteous and accommodating to us with the exception of the large blonde manager the next morning. Their breakfast and staff who prepared their breakfast were warm and friendly offering a phenomenal variety for guests to choose from. So all in all out stay there made our little trip a memorable one for me. Hopefully that particular manager will be retrained on taking pride and demonstrating professionalism for this great place.

Convenient location close to the Town center. Nice free breakfast and swimming pool. Property is a bit dated but staff is friendly and helpful. Just needs a bit of an upgrade.

It was a a very cute town and the breakfast was better than I expected. Good coffee. Good location. Helpful staff.

Nice hotel… Older hotel but Very clean! The bed is very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower is amazing. Nice views and a convenient location to town.

Had a great stay as we almost always do at IHG! The folks were friendly and helpful. Esp Maria, thank you! Loved having a huge deck and the room layout was terrific, especially with children! The kids absolutely loved the heated pool! Thank you!

Clean and Quiet. Right on the edge of Solvang. Hotel is a bit old but reasonably maintained. Wi-Fi is fast and has good coverage.

Check in was prompt. Rooms are a little older but in good condition. We have a balcony and facing away from the main Street so it is very very quiet. Interior hallways could use some additional lighting.

Pros: Clean rooms, easy in and out, friendly staff, close to shops and restuarants. Microwave, fridge, TV, hair dryer, pod coffee maker available. Below ground parking available, Tesla car charging parking spots, handicap parkping spots. Some vending machines on site. Small grocery store across the street. Cons: Few electrical plugs available for chargers, or located in inaccessible places. Some outlets need replacement. Notes: Facilities are dated, could use some updating. Decorative outside rope lighting doesn't seem to be working. Very few electrical outlets in rooms, some won't retain plugs — needed to unplug coffeemaker and hair dryer to charge phones. Spa and pool are small — both could use some cleaning and repairs. Spa is warm but jets are weak and no bubbles. Lots of places in area where fingers could get caught. Vending machines available but take cash only or both cash and card or swipe but not chipped cards. Ice machine on 2nd floor.

All the staff we met were super nice and helpful. Rooms were cute, but a little worn.

Located in the beautiful town if solvang. The hotel had a very nice heated swimming pool and was located right on the edge of the main strip. Simple but nice breakfast available in the mornings and a very helpful staff.

Thank God this one is on the list for remodel! Rooms definitely smell musty and are cobwebby if that is even a word. Does have good parking though. Once remodeled I think it will go to a four-star. It is extremely hard to get a five star out of me at a hotel. Want a fifth star? Get me some soft towels. I hate sand paper on my face after a shower. Front desk and staff very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was nothing special.

Nice size rooms with very comfortable beds. There are a lot of woodpeckers here that enjoy tapping on the balconies so it always sounds like someone is knocking on your door. This hotel is very close to local restaurants and bakeries.

The air conditioning did not work during an early September heat wave. Staff tried to "fix it" by throwing the breaker since the woman at the front desk claimed this had fix this problem before, i. E. It is a reoccurring problem the hotel management hasn't bothered fix. Her male colleague led me to the circuit breakers and reset the breaker and went into my room where he confirmed the thermostat was set correctly. I was advised to give it a bit of time to see if their "trick" had fix the AC. It did not. It was in the low 80s in the room. We opened the sliding glass door to the balcony and tried to sleep. After all night, the room cooled to a barely tolerable 79 degrees. Adding to my mistake of booking here, we had taken this trip to see a play at the Solvang Festival Theater, so by the time the play ended and we returned to the room, it was nearly midnight so it was too late to drive home. And being the weekend, the hotel & town was sold out. Other issues making this the worse Holiday Inn Express I've been to is a bed side lamp with a bulb held in the lamp with scotch-type tape. The shower fixture was falling part. This place was seriously more of a dump than many discount brands (e. G. Motel 6 & Super 8) and rundown 1950s vintage mom & pop motels I've stay in. Final, insult to injury, this was Labor Day Weekend, we paid a premium rate (almost $300) to experience one of the most miserable nights of our lives!

What can I say about the Holiday Inn of Solvang. It's got some of the best darn continental breakfast I've EVER had! Period. All you gotta say is "hotel breakfast dawg? " and I'm there man. Eggs, omelettes, pancakes, bacon, muffins, yogurt. You name it. Best breakfast bar I've ever even been in hotel or not.

Rooms were nice, right at the entrance into town. Breakfast was good and sufficient. Overall great stay.

The bed was very comfortable, but we had a lot of problems with the Wi-Fi and when I called the front desk to ask about late checkout the front desk employee said "I don't have access to that information, you'll have to call back and ask in the morning, " which sort of defeats the purpose of late checkout. Staff was otherwise friendly and helpful. Location is fantastic, you can walk to everything. Hotel layout is not ideal for wheelchair accessibility, and the room was pretty small for an ADA room — — the bed was pushed all the way up against the wall on one side.

Very quiet hotel at the edge of Solvang. The pool was heated and the breakfast was pretty good as well. The wireless was a little spotty though.

It was a simple no frills place but did the job for our stay. Nice hot breakfast. Quiet too. The pool was on the small side and the Jacuzzi bubbles did not work. All in all it was clean and quiet. Our room had a mini fridge, Kuerig and a microwave.

Quiet rooms and a great view make for a cozy getaway.

Room was dirty and very old. Needs serious updating. Lobby elevator was broken… had to use staits to get to room! I have stayed in much nicer Holiday Inn Expresses…

Clean and spacious room, along with a decent bathroom. Surprisingly large breakfast selection but, breakfast is only served until 9:30 :\. Has good Wi-Fi and okay cable selection.

The hotel staff was great, located right in town… great views, very clean and cute room. Would absolutely stay here again.

A nice stay over a wedding weekend. The pool was a surprise, sadly I forgot my suit, but we didn't have time anyway. Breakfast was wonderful! The Pancake Machine was MAGIC! I wish I had one at home. It was amazing. There was a hitch in my reservation but they were quick to fix it and make our stay seamless. Thank you.

Great Hotel in Solvang. Spacious affordable rooms with views. In the heart of Solvang. Do not miss their complimentary breakfast. Its delicious. Its more of a restaurant with cinnamon rolls, pancakes and even bacon! If your in Solvang, this is the place to stay.

In general, you'll get the best deal when you ask for a room in person assuming one is available. Stood in 5 different holiday inn expresses in the past week with my family. You get the best for your buck in holiday inn express for sure! There are some that are all 3's.

Very rude staff and dirty. I believe their were bedbugs.

2 week cancellation policy WTF? We cancelled a week in advance because we got a room at a hotel with other wedding guests, they still charged us! I'm sure they were still 100% booked, I hope they enjoy my hard earned money and this negative review.
