The hotel was really cozy and the room were too small and it didn't have a heater and the pipeline was inside the room. And the bathtop was really bad. The frontdesk agent was cheap he didn't even know how to talk with guest. It is really a worse place.

Really expensive, really bad condition.

When we walked into the lobby, I had a bad feeling about this hotel. We took the elevator to our 2nd floor room and then I felt better. Although the lobby looks sort of like a welfare hotel at home, I was relieved to note that the room was spotless and looks like it has recently been painted. The staff were quite friendly and helpful. We had a room with two beds in it and they were comfortable. The TV worked and had a good variety of programming. As Manhattan residents we felt that in general there wasn’t much street noise, except that on our first night (Sat), a live band seemed to be playing nearby. They stopped early enough that this wasn’t much of a problem. Tonight, (Sun) seems to be pretty quiet so far. The hotel is conveniently located close to San Francisco attractions. I feel safe inside as the downstairs door is kept locked and has to be opened by desk staff. I was dismayed this morning when I stepped outside to see a rubber near the entrance and evidence of substance abuse. There was also someone asleep on the sidewalk just up the hill. I am a disabled person and just note that I had difficulty getting my walker up the few steps to get in the door. (3-4). All in all, this is an old hotel, but it is extremely clean and functional. The neighborhood is a bit run down, but very convenient. This is not a luxury hotel, but we didn’t expect luxury. We didn’t pay for it.

If you are a cry baby and need a big fancy place to stay then this isn't for you. If you want down to earth clean and safe then this is great. I loved my stay here. The owners are incredibly insightful and helpful. The guy literally gave me a map and circled all of the locations to go to get your municipal bus passes and just made my girlfriend and I feel at home. Honestly very nice people and location.

I liked how close it was to the Moscone Center, and I felt safe staying at this hotel. Staff is very friendly.

A nightmare. Old. Dirty. Way to expensive.

Amazing feel and details. Love the decor. Everything is so yoga-like. My room was next to the rooftop garden and patio so I went outside each morning to read. Lavender sprigs on my door and left on my pillow. Just a wonderful hotel. A little pricey but all of San Francisco is. Great location across from piers and walk able to trolleys heading in all directions. A far walk from Mo scone, but worth it. Near piers to Alcatraz and Fisherman's wharf.

It could be better for that price.

We have to be there for 4 nights 540$ paid, what an absolute cheek. It is a great mystery, as we place no bed bugs could capture. The Hotel is absolutely not the pictures on the Internet. It is dirty, run down, even total verranzt! And it stinks (after urine… bed bugs? ) Owner is an Indian family that lives on the ground floor… doors are partially open and we see the woman lying in the bed! Do not make the same mistake and avoid this Hotel! The area is also very run down… Everywhere people are homeless, and total zugedröhnte people. Very unpleasant! Can a the but so beautiful city, really bad : — (

Location is good. Not much else I can say about that.

Nice clean no frill budget hotel in San Francisco Union Square area. Fantastic deal in expensive neighborhood for person on a budget. Good for person who needs affordable, safe, centrally located place to shower, sleep and hang out where all the action is, this is your best option. Rooms are no frill and adequate with amenities but not fancy as Hilton or Marriott near by. Their private rooms are cheaper for two person than hostel dorms that cost $45 or more per person nearby. Rooms are spacious by San Francisco hotel standard. Most of the negative reviews about this hotel need to be taken with grain of salt as majority of the reviews across the web written by some one specifically to bash this place and has only created profile to write one review under their profile. Makes me wonder about reviewer's intention, who have something bad to say about this place but nothing good to share or say about other places in this world in their lifetime.

It's bad the moment you arrive to the lobby: the smell. The one in hotel. But the moment you arrive to the room you know the smell was ok, because inside the room it's unbearable, it must be the smell of trash or homeless people. Ok, you get used to it. Sounds. You literally hear everything like if you were sleeping on the street, don't come there without ear plugs! The interior is shabby. Carpet is like 10 years old, you don't want to step on it with bare feet. Bathroom was ok. Neighborhood: mediocre. Felt safe at the day time, early morning it's crawled by homeless people. One was sleeping in 5 steps from the hotel entrance. Someone was once shot at night nearby around midnight! Then I saw people carrying someone. What's ok: staff is friendly and helping. Still 1 star, because it would be 1.3 at the maximum. Summary: bad hotel, prices are totally not appropriate. It would be ok for 50 a night maximum! If offered higher price, never accept it. I travelled around the world a lot, including East Europe, stayed in hostels and shared airbnb rooms and know what? Taylor Hotel was the worst experience of my life. And definitely the worst value for money.
