This is a lovely and beautiful old hotel. Can’t wait to stay here again!

The Staff was polite and helpful when we arrived at the Hotel. It is located 1.5 miles from Pier 39 which of course leads to The Wharf. Easy to walk to many places food, drinks and transportation. What is also awesome they are dog friendly so your furry baby can join you and the cost for them are very reasonable. We did enjoy their breakfast which was waffles, hard boiled eggs, crescent rolls, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal and toast. Also milk, coffee, tea and fresh juice.
For us this was a stay cation and we had a great experience but beware parking is not free you do have to pay for it.

I was there in 2018. We were celebrating our honeymoon. Great service and attention. Rooms were clean, tidy and very intimate. The complimentary breakfast was very good too! Yum! They had happy hour wine tasting. They open their selection of wines and you get to enjoy for an hour. After that we wanted to go out, but aren't familiar with Sam Francisco. I like outdoors and nature, he like adrenaline and heights. So we had no idea what or where to go. We probably would have missed out if it weren't for Mateen Karimy. He works there attending to guest he took the time to outline and circle fun ideas on a map. So very grateful for that.

Great hotel, in the heart of all the shopping activities… excellent location, friendly and helpful staff… clean rooms… however the breakfast needs a little more variety… maybe some scrambled eggs on some days… or pancakes on some days etc. Overall an excellent hotel, definitely will recommend!

Nice clean rooms. They are small but nice. Had a great time in their bar playing shuffleboard.

Expect the basics. Friendly staff. Old facilities but clean and convenient. Bed is better than acceptable. Location is great! They have a happy hour with wine, never made it, but it sounds like fun.

Check in went smoothly, with the representative giving us lots of recommendations. The room is small which is normal for the area, but clean and comfortable. We had a king room. It also has two chairs, one for the desk and one to sit on, which makes sitting and reading easier out of bed! The bathroom is quite small but totally serviceable. The bathroom door closes itself which is a bit annoying since it is in the way of the sink. While brushing teeth with the door open, the door rests on my hip. Windows in the room are bay which is nice and the window area is perfect for holding suitcases! There's a closet and a keurig with coffee, decaf coffee, and black tea options. Happy hour at 5 on weekdays with wine and water with fruits in it, though I didn't partake. Good stay option in the city.

Location awesome, close to Union square, yet away from all the din. Very cosy, clean and comfortable rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. In room amenities are adequate. The breakfast although not very elaborate is just enough to get your day going. All in all, good value for money.

Hi Bill, thanks for the follow up. I put one star because the service was horrible. At front desk no one was nice, just doing their job as if they were making a favour to me. I was on the city to make an important presentation for the company I work for and asked for a wake up call and you miss that! And when I asked why, instead of apologizing they told me that they were very busy! My wife is a travel agent and I will make sure she doesn't send any of her passengers there. Regards.

I want to give a shout out to Vincent at the front desk. I checked out yesterday and had left my bags with your hotel as my flight wasn’t until the afternoon. When I collected my bags I forgot my cell phone in the lobby right by-the front desk. My friend C. C. Drake called my phone and Vincent called him back from the hotel to let him know I left my phone there. My friend called my folks and thanks to Vincent I was able to call a cab and have the cab bring me my phone! You went above and beyond. I’m truly grateful.

This hotel is in a perfect location on a relatively quiet side street only a few minutes walk from Union Square. The hotel itself was fine (was actually a bit better than I expected). The room was functional and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Room serviced every day. Hotels in San Francisco are very expensive, so although this hotel wasn't exactly cheap, as far as San Francisco hotels are concerned it was very good value for money. If you're after luxury, remortgage your home and get one of the ridiculously expensive hotels — but if you're looking for a perfectly decent hotel in a great location in San Francisco for a reasonable price, I think you will find this hotel hard to beat.

I stayed here for a business trip and really enjoyed it. The room was really cute. I appreciated the vintage feel and actually prefer that experience to a "fancy" hotel. The bed was comfy! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Wine hour was a GREAT addition and would be a reason I'd stay there again. It's close to many of the places you'll want to visit… China Town, Financial District, Nob Hill, shopping, etc. The only thing that I would say was a negative was the food provided by the hotel. The breakfast selection wasn't great and the restaurant wasn't open for other meals. But, there were plenty of places to eat in the area so it wasn't that big of an issue.

The hotel was okay. The room was nice and clean but smelled slightly like cigarette smoke. We went to hang towels on the towel rack and the rack came completely out of the wall. The linens and towels caused me to break out in hives all over my body. We asked for fresh towels and the woman at the front desk gave us attitude about it. They say they are pet friendly but have to pay $25/night for your pet and also cannot leave them in the room. So why even be “pet friendly”? There is a heavy parking fee of $45/night as well plus tax. We weren’t able to make the free wine tasting but that was a plus. The free morning breakfast was nice as well.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at this hotel. The staff are always friendly and courteous. Because this hotel is historical and an old building, one might find the floor plan of the rooms small and awkward. But it's really charming and I appreciate all the beauty of the hotel. My room was clean and the housekeeping does a fantastic job of maintaining the environment clean and enjoyable. I had the pleasure of meeting Brian who hosted the night wine tasting in the lobby. A cheerful gentleman who helped made my stay a sheer delight. I'm glad I stayed here and still definitely return!

Economy price belied by comfort. A converted motel with room facing into a central courtyard with semi tropical plants and a very pleasant swimming pool. Rooms are well (quite expensively) furnished with comfortable beds and good linens. Remarkably varied and high quality breakfast buffet included. Would merit a price at least 50% higher.

Great experience during my 4 night stay. The hotel is a bit outdated but that’s part of the charm in my opinion. Employees where very polite and helpful and no complaints with room service. Very cozy rooms that are very clean with all amenities working.

Quaint hotel. My room was pretty good in itself. No view to speak of. TV system was awkward to use. Shower was fantastic. Breakfast was pretty poor really. Staff were all very good.

Stayed for 3 nights. First room smelled so badly of stale body odour I asked to be moved. So bad. They moved me without complaining but the front desk clerk was really unfriendly. The next room still stank but was not of the BO variety. More like strong disinfectant. I will not stay here again. Shoddy rooms, one slow elevator. Carpets look like they are from the 60s and smell like it.

It was very comfortable and quiet. There is a cozy bathrobe available and I used the heck out of it while I was in my room. I loved the quality of the complimentary toiletries as well. The staff is very friendly with a great sense of humor. Between 5-6pm, there is complimentary wine and the server was quite informative about wine culture. Being someone who is by no means educated about wine, it was a cool learning experience. I would love to stay at this hotel again.

Quite correct and well located.

It was on the main street and it had a very awesome view of the bush street. The receptionists and other staff members were very helpful. The lobby area was warm and wine was complementary… hahaha! However the room heater was not up to the mark.

We have been pleasantly surprised by just about everything with this hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and competent, the room we got was excellent, with a larger bed than we were expecting. We particularly enjoyed the wine social event in the lobby, and wound up chatting with another couple that we then joined for dinner!

Hotel room was ok but windows so thin it sounded as if they were open so could hear traffic all night. Paint smell in elevator & lobby was bad. Parking situation is annoying as garage is up the street. Their system easily could be improved.

Service was wonderful and went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable.

The location is accessible to all the attractions. The service is excellent.

Very cool and affordable hotel in a convenient area. Just a couple blocks from everything I wanted to go to! And every night, 5 to 6, they had wine! If you like wine, go here.

Great Location. Rooms are small but you have everything you need and this is to be expected of a boutique hotel. Parking is expensive but you are in the centre so acceptable if you don't want to drive around and find your own parking.

The hotel is located in a good place in the center of the city. The bed was very close to the exit of the room and it made it difficult to get my luggage in.

Excellent location, silent room and comfortable bed. I wish they had breakfast in the hotel, but there is a good breakfast option right in the corner with Powell (Roxanne). I faced a problem with the safe box in the room, which they were not able to fix, even though I requested it 2 times.

Second time staying here. Still as good as a few years ago. In a central area near Union square, Nob Hill, and Chinatown.

This place is really nice. Easy walk up from BART, great neighborhood.
The place is clean and comfy and the staff is really nice and very helpful.
Our first room smelled a little stale and the window looked over an alley so it was dark ish. They immediately gave us another room on a corner w/ lots of windows and light and no stale smell. Perfect!
This is the 2nd time we've stayed (with a Groupon coupon). It's going to be our "stay in SF overnight" hotel (we live in the East Bay).

Nice rooms, smaller than expected. The room was either too cold or too hot, but finally adjusted the AC. But not entering the hotels fault.

Great location on top of union square and China town, close to Powell st Bart Station, great friendly helpful staff, fast check in/Out, awesome complimentary wine hour (daily). Thumbs up keep on.

Great location. Near Union Square and Powell street near almost all of the stores. Also 2 blocks from China town. Friendly courteous staff and nice rooms. Small but ideal. Bathrooms are nice. Not a 5 star hotel but definitely a small nice that we would use again. EDIT: Garbage truck picks like 6am and is super loud since sound seeps through the window ac pretty easily… was like this for 4 mornings straight. Management if you read this, please move this to a more reasonable pick up time.

Very nice hotel. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Decent room. Had a mini fridge if you move the honor bar stuff to the side.

I had an opportunity to stay here at the executive Hotel vintage Court on a business trip, it was definitely a good experience and I wish I had more time to see the city and take in what the hotel offered. The toiletries and room were very nice, the restaurant downstairs is good looking food and the staff was generally very helpful with the exception of one guy who didn't seem to really enjoy his job. Outside of that I would certainly stay here again.

— but we had rented a room for 4 we ended up in a room for 2 people (2 towels, 2 glasses)
— A person committed suicide at night or it was Impossible to sleep after the reception it was the first time but when we lie about the services sold we can afford to doubt

Room less spacious than in other hotels but perfect location. The staff is in addition to the small care.

Very good location for San Francisco.

Check-in was quick and easy, upon entering my room I was greeted with a very pungent smell of either very stale air or the world's worst air freshener. I was just dropping off my stuff and then going to leave so I figured I'd open the window and air out the room while I was out but there is no screen on the window and I didn't want insects flying into my room so I turned on the a/c before I left instead. Upon returning 7 hours later, the a/c didn't help with the smell. Luckily after being in the room for about 10 minutes, I adapted and the smell no longer bothered me. The room was extremely cramped with a random steel pipe coming out of the floor in one corner and one wall was completely covered with mirrors (I have no idea what the wall of mirrors was for). The bathroom was so tiny, that I could not use the restroom standing up because the towel rack would not allow me to and if I tried to move away from the towel rack I'd be standing in the bathtub. And if standing at the sink there is no way to open or close the bathroom door. I now know how sardines feel. I would not stay at this hotel again.

We stayed here last November (2014) and loved this place. Lovely reception with a wine hour around 5pm could grab a glass and relax after a day sightseeing. Also really great location. Lots of bars and shops a stones throw away and great base for exploring San Fran. The staff were lovely and I will definitely be calling here again next time we visit San Fran. X.

On 6-3-15 I booked a room with the hotel and put in wrong date I needed to stay and even though it had there where no refunds Bill The General Manager there helped me after explaining my problem he helped by calling the booking agent and all I have stayed there more then once and will remain to stay there any visit I take to San Francisco Thank you bill and your great team.

Smelly, noisy and overpriced.

Stayed their at the end of January. The room had a hint of must smell to it, even though it was winter. The parking sucks, and costly. It's San Francisco so somewhat expected. Had two items go missing from our room. The hotel said they would contact us via email and phone call. Never happened about missing items. Customer service didn't have any positive or negative things to say.

Horrible customer service, especially the receptionist and the rooms smell really bad.

Hotel was not prepared to accomodate wheelchair guests. Problems with the lift. Rooms very small. Parking is not on the property, but 2 blocks away on a one way street.

The staff very friendly. Rooms a bit retro but beautiful (and with Wi-Fi).

The room was very small, internet super spotty and the bathroom needed some updating — a plastic shower casing in a $300+ a night hotel is not something you would expect. The front desk was helpful and polite.

Negative: The room smells bad/old. Positive: Great Wifi. Friendly staff. Old genuine rooms with fine details. Size of the room is good, not to small. Our room was very quite, facing a side street.

It was 'OK' — not stellar, just OK. It's quaint — old and well built. The room had not be dusted up high for months — the bathroom light fixture had 'fur' on it — kinda icky. I found a little 6-legged critter wandering around on my table so I called the front desk to come get it. I have no fear of bugs, but I thought that THEY might want to see it. It took two calls to get them to show up. I'm guessing it just hitched a ride in on me, but you'd think that the management would want to see it. Huh! The room was reasonably quiet, but I live in the country where it is dead silent at night, so any noise would seem like a lot to me. The pillows are completely synthetic stuff so they got sweaty when I used them because they didn't breathe at all. One funny event: in the bathroom, the toilet paper roll is on a holder that is elbow-high right next to the commode itself, which is in a narrow stall. When I stood up and hiked up my shorts, my elbow hit the roll, slid it off the holder and 'ploop! ' right in the bowl. Next night, in the middle of the night I did it again. The TP roll holder should oughta be moved. :-).

Some items in the mini bar were expired. I asked the to change twice. The rooms are smelly and not tidy. I stayed for 14 nights and most of the nights were noisy. They dont have sound preventing windows. Otherthings are acceptable. Excellent location near the Union square.

I've never been, but when is this VAC. Every place is good.

The hotel is old but clean. What bothers is the noise. I don't know if it was just our room but between the noise of the street, cars that looked like trucks I guess inside the room were garbage and that for fifteen minutes made noise, the noise of the fridge in the room that time was connected and other noises that I could not identify, the second night, when I wasn't so tired as it was impossible to sleep in the first. They should be a little soundproof windows.
