Reviews of Hotel Zephyr San Francisco 4*
Location is great! Very helpful and courteous staff! Comfortable room! Cute nautical themes throughout the hotel.
Came across this hotel using Booking. Com reviews good. Arrived lovely welcome from staff, room spacious, cleaned daily. Just be aware there is secure parking which is $60 a night. Hotel is fabulous location, would I come back again, yes. Thank you Hotel Zephyr.
This was a great place to stay with my two boys. We had so much to do when we were relaxing at the hotel. The s’mores nightly at the bonfire 🔥 was super fun and all the games were perfect. The concierge was super helpful and all the staff at the desk were great. Bottled Water was readily available too. The location to pier 39 was perfect. I would totally stay here again.
No microwave or fridge in the rooms, very few amenities, overpriced parking fees, not worth the $400 price tag…. Staff was awesome though, just not enough convenience for the price point! Will not be staying in the future.
My family and I recently stayed there. I would definitely recommend staying there. The atmosphere is great for families. Rooms are big and spacious. The employees there are very friendly. It’s in a great area, walking distance from fisherman’s wharf.
Good games for the kids, but if you dont have children then its best to stay elsewhere. Bar and extras amenities are not open, nor valet parking. staff at front desk (check in) not customer service friendly.
Awesome awesome experience! Friendly and thoughtful staff. They called every morning to see if we needed anything. Loved everything except how loud it gets when you get a room assigned too close to the elevator. Lots of noise all day long. Other than that it was a great experience and would definitely book here when I come back to San Francisco.
We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Zephyr. Our four night stay turned into an eight night stay because our flight home was cancelled because of a snow storm. The hotel manager Jeff and the front desk receptionist Kathy were incredible in assisting me to figure things out. Kathy helped me plan out some extra activities and enlisted the very kind concierge Zakhida to help find us discounted tickets. My teenager daughter wouldn't be able to get home for her brithday but the hotel staff left a birthday surprise in our room of a delicious strawberry and vanilla cake, flowers and a Happy Birthday balloon along with a beautiful note. It was really touching and meant the world. The rest of our extended stay was so relaxing and enjoyable. We had things planned, the staff would check in with us every day to make sure we were doing well and if we needed anything else. The property is really fun, a huge courtyard with games like a huge connect four along with an indoor game room with ping pong and a pool table. There are three bonfires always going and you can grab as many s’mores kits from the front desk as you want. The location is incredible, we were right at Fisherman’s Wharf so we were close to pretty much everything and the rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. Every time we walked in and out Anthony was there with a smile.
Excellent customer service, beautiful hotel & very clean.
Great hotel. Very family-friendly and lots for the kids to do between them game rooms, fire pit, s’mores etc. Everyone who worked there was super helpful and friendly.
Location to everything and a reasonable price.
The layout of this hotel is horrible we wanted to look out at the bay and they gave us a room on the fourth floor it took us 10 minutes to get to.
The windows don’t open to smell the ocean air and the windows are filthy plexiglass you can’t even see out of them they’re so dirty. The complementary cups for the coffee pot had water in them like somebody use them and didn’t get cleaned up or thrown away.
When we booked the room they didn’t tell us that the restaurant in the bar was not open there was nowhere to get drinks food nothing after the restaurants close down.
The cost of the room is supposed to be $270 dollars plus tax but by the end of the day it was 471 due to parking and taxes.
The outside play area was very nice but there was no dining no appetizers no drinks nothing.
My Wife and I had an amazing trip and stay at Hotel Zephyr. The staff were so attentive and provided great service. We had a little snag at the beginning, but Dulce Cordova and the GM Michael Fear turned everything around to ensure our satisfaction. They even gave us a nice bottle of wine to celebrate our Birthdays which was very unexpected. The view from our room was amazing and the location is perfect, giving easy access to everything in the city. We will definitely be staying again. HUGE THANKS to Dulce Cordova and all of the staff!
Great location and lots of fun amenities!
We had a terrific time. Booked it for the looks of inside and the courtyard. Was not disappointed! They were super friendly!
Will not issue refunds to sundale School. Not good business.
This hotel cancelled our reservation due to COVID, which is fine, I understand that. What is infuriating is that they refuse to reimburse us through CheapTickets and instead are only issuing a voucher for a future stay! They cancelled our reservation and refuse to give us our money back! This is some shady business practice. They are not answering emails. They are not answering phones. Every other aspect of this trip we planned — MLB tickets, car rental, flights, other hotels — all issued refunds with NO issue. From the reviews, looks like I'm not the only one they have done this to. This hotel sucks.
Friendly staff. Cool place.
Great location! Quirky fun design. Lots for kids to do. Cocktails around the fire pits. On the downside the beds and pillows are hard as boards. It would be a good idea to at least have soft pillows if the mattresses are this hard. Overall nice stay… other than the beds.
This hotel is so awesome. Great experience all around. Upon check in I received 2 reusable water bottles to use at the fill station, the kids thought this was awesome. Near the lobby there is a pool table, a game table for family games, table shuffle board and a lounge. Outside is a shuffle board area, giant wall connect four, a crazy ping pong table, fire pits and lounge area. Plus the bar/restaurant attached that you can bring food/drink from to the outside of the hotel. Great spot for families, just a fun night away. Perfect date night or place to get together with friends. The rooms are clean and have a cool decor of it he inside of a ship.
This hotel is great. Fun atmosphere, perfect location, quiet, comfy beds, clean room, and friendly staff. We had a balcony room with a great view of the bay and Alcatraz. Highly recommend.
Very cool hotel! Helpful and friendly staff. Clean and spacious rooms. Awesome vibe and excellent location. Highly recommend.
It’s a fantastic place within the city. And with all amenities and nice staff. The desk staff was cooperative. As I needed a medical emergency they explained us all. And doctors were available 24hous.
Great location. On Fisherman's Wharf.
Beautiful View from our room.
Rude staff, long wait for our room, hidden charges when we arrived and very noisy
Bed was comfortable.
The worst bed bugs! I came home with itchy bites all over my body. Great location, not worth the scratching!
A funky hotel in a fantastic location. The hotel has a cool boatyard vibe with shipping container walls and a wall of buoys. The courtyard is a grownup. Playground with metal salvage art and a food truck!
This place is Awesome! Highly Recommend to everyone either they are flying in domestic lnternational! This hotel provides the needs for everyone!
Great location and vibe. So so staff — esp. Front Desk.
Great and close to the wharf place to stay it may not be a five star hotel but I was very happy with our stay. Front desk receptionis Lucelle was very professional and friendly and so were the staff checking the lluggage. We are coffee drinker so we run out of coffee so I went out to find a cleaning lady and asked for extra coffee she asked me how many I said may I have 4 she said no 3 only so ok fine 3 no arguement there but there was this gentleman he's short I guessed that was the supervisor and heard the conversation he called me when I was on my way back to the room with extra coffee and creamer so that good guest service the gentlemen did made our stay pleasant. My family and I will definitely recommend and come back to stay.
Never ever have I been charged for free Wi-Fi, free newspaper, free tea/coffee, free game room activities! In fact, technically no one should have to pay 25 dollars for complimentary services!
As well as paying for parking.
Service is terrible, we had to slug our bags down stairs from the car park as there’s no lift available to use unless you have checked in.
Amazing atmosphere, right on pier, indoor and outdoor game-room is plus if you have kids or just to hang out.
The game area on first floor with 4 fires going surrounding with comfy chairs and different games is designed very well! Staff is very helpful! So close to water front but quite too!
Great location! Great vibe! Great games to play with and interact with others. Highly recommend this Hotel!
Great place for a family of teenagers to come back to after a day of sight seeing. Amazing and unique indoor and outdoor recreational area. Fire pits, fuzfootball, billiard table, ping pong, old fashions games for the family to engage in. We all had a great tome as a family. Clean, newly refurbished in a very modern Port side theme. Fabulous location, around the corner from
Poet 39, near restaurants, liquor store, pharmacy, and a walk to the Alcatraz Pier. Would highly recommend.
Even though the location was great and the hotel itself was quirky, but good for a mid-priced accommodation, the reason for the One-Star rating was our iPad was stolen while we were out visiting San Francisco for a few hours. The room safe was full, so we hid the iPad under some dirty clothes in my suitcase. When we complained at the front desk, and eventually spoke with the head of housekeeping, a lock audit was performed and it was determined the only person to have accessed our room was the cleaning staff (who denied taking the tablet). Now we are out hundred of dollars and dissatisfied with the lack of communication with the hotel's management.

RespondI've never started at the Hotel Zephyr but I can tell you they are tourist friendly with their clean bathrooms open in the lobby to everyone and they offer through the Parking Panda app all day parking for $14. One of the best deals on parking and right on the Wharf. It's a little more on holidays but once you're parked you're right in the middle of the action! A beautiful Hotel as well and I can't wait for an opportunity to stay there sometime.

RespondWe rented the game room for a work function. It was very large room with a great view of their outdoor space. There was a pool table, ping pong table, and shuffle board table along with several TVs. They had a multitude of seating options and it was a ver great experience. They do not have anything like cups, napkins, ice, etc. So bring your own!

RespondPleasant hotel. Daily cleaning of rooms was superb. Mixed reviews from members of family on the beds (some thought they were uncomfortable) but otherwise a lovely hotel. The bar downstairs, attached to the hotel was nice and cost roughly the same as other bars in the area. Great location for the sea lions and shops at pier 39 and very close to public transport for other parts of san Francisco. I do recommend this hotel.
This was a great hotel for the price and how centrally located in was to the wharf. My son absolutely LOVED the game room and outdoor area, we probably spent half our time there! The rooms were modern and clean and the beds comfortable.

RespondI am sorry, but I don't get it. The Hotel charges $450 a night per room (plus several taxes), that claims to be booked solid into perpetuity, but can't afford to steam clean the few feet in front of their entrance so it doesn't reek like urine? Got it that this is San Francisco where the homeless wander en mass akin to a scene from The Walking Dead, I got, the city is not going to do anything about it so expect panhandling and being accosted by the homeless and having to jump over them on the sidewalk. But still can't the hotel clean the few feet of sidewalk in front of their entryway so you don't get urine on the bottom of your shoes as you hold your breath to enter/exit? Heck with what they are charging the hotel could hire a 24x7 cleaning crew. And at the entrance to the parking garage had heaps of garbage on the ground with the dumpster almost blocking the entrance that smells like a sewer my goodness. Staff was nice. The concierge was superb. The rooms were okay albeit the carpet was dated. Just save some money stay at a different hotel because to be right next to Fisherman's Wharf it's not that big of a deal, you are only going to go there once anyway, so just stay at a cheaper place then Uber there.
Nice hotel. Great location. Nicely done. Great for kids as they have a kind of party area with things to do… Right in fisherman's warf so plenty to do all around as well. Nice room… tiny, but nice.
The concept is great. Fyi: I was raised to always say something positive.
Really cool nautical themed place. Parked here for a good rate through park whiz. Lobby has a lot of fun games. Good place to socialize while you're figuring out where to go.
The hotel has a great lobby and outdoor area with several fire pits. If you are traveling with kids, come here for sure. There are games outside and a game room. The room itself even has a dart board. There is no restaurant or bar. There is a food trailer though with some stuff available including lattes. It's weird that it doesn't have a bar and at this price, it should. Don't come here if you need to work as there is no useable desk area. Location is great though. Close to everything.
Stayed here for 4 nights. The location is perfect. The room itself was pretty nasty. Needs a good deep clean, it's just grimy and gross. Came back to the room the last day and the blankets and pillows were piled on the floor. Staff seems nice, we ran out of conditioner and they sent it up within minutes. At $288 a night I think I would stay somewhere else. Side note to people with lots of products they use in the bathroom. There is the tiniest sliver of sink space and a very small shelf above the toilet. No room to really do hair and/or make up.
A perfect hotel right in the middle of all the 4th of July celebration! Great staff and accommodations.
Perfect balcony views for the price. Nice staff, clean lobby areas. Artistic, interactive lounges. Parking was okay. It was great to be within walking distance of fisherman's wharf and tourist shops that had delicious food. The balconies DO face each other in a U shape looking out towards Alcatraz. We had mid level facing west and had great views and lighting.
Super friendly staff! Love the atmosphere! Very kid friendly and lots to do at the hotel itself. They have a game room and outside area with firepits. Less then 5 minute walk to pier 39! I would stay here again!
The room was only cleaned on the very surface. It was deep down dirty. I included some pictures that I also showed to the staff-member that checked me out. She said that the only thing she could do was waive the $25 fee that the hotel charges as a "urban usage' fee. First of all, I don't like to be taxed by a hotel. That is the reason we fought for independence from England. Taxation without representation. And for them to not offer to comp my one night stay based on the conditions of the room or, offer a room at another time (complimentary) makes this the LEAST LIKELY place I will stay in San Francisco. I would have appreciated if the front desk clerk had simply taken the issue to a manager and had the manager come talk to me. At least that way there would have been a sense of accountability.
We absolutely love this hotel! We only had one night and the days surrounding that night. I found the property to be wildly fun. We didn't make use of the grounds too much excepting to sit by one of the fire pits that evening. While we didn't make use of the resort fees we certainly could have. Giant Connect Four games. Labyrinth. Table Tennis. We enjoyed our breakfast at "the Camper" but weren't terribly impressed with the demeanor of staff at the Camper. We found the front desk staff to be very helpful and cordial. I do believe that this is one of the more expensive hotels in the area but I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. We paid for a Partial view and we looked down upon the "playground" but also had a lovely view of Alcatraz. The location was prime. We didn't hear much from any other guests and our room was in perfect order. The only exception was the Keurig. Guests before us apparently didn't know how to work it and somehow poured the grounds and water in the back of the machine where only the water should go. We have this machine at home but perhaps some instructions would help those who find it foreign to them? We ran water through about 4 cycles to get it all cleaned out. Incidently, we were in room 4014.
Great location, bit pricey but easy access to all amenities around fisherman’s wharf area.
We like it. Fantastic location, friendly staff, funky vibe to suit all types. We had a balcony full water view room looking straight at Alkatraz.
Fisherman’s wharf around corner, cable car stop 2 blocks away, Embarcadero street car stop on corner.
We needed a late check out and they have accommodated as best they can. We would definitely come back.
Great hotel. Great location. Loved it!
What a fun hotel! So ready please and so close to the wharf. It’s a high classed hotel in a great location at a great price. I found the best discount by going through the website of the hotel itself. I felt it was slightly under staffed but it didn’t change the character of the staff it had, just that if there was more staff we would of been helped sooner. The valet was great and would keep your vehicle many hours past checkout to give you a good amount of time to enjoy the city.
We recently stayed at the Zephyr for 4 nights, costing well over £1000 we had stayed at seven other hotels on our trip between Las Vegas and San Francisco it was the most expensive hotel of the holiday and the one I was looking forward to the most. I can honestly say it was the worse by far. We checked in to our King Room with partial view, (view of the flat roof of reception) beautifully decorated with quirky design touches at about 7.30pm, to hear constant running water, which we thought was coming from next doors shower, (paper thins walls) husband used the toilet to discover the running water was actually our broken toilet and it wouldn't flush. We were going out to dinner so at 8pm reported the toilet to the Manager on reception who said he would sort it. Returned to hotel at midnight after a lovely evening in San Fran and asked Receptionist if the toilet had been sorted, she said she had just started and didn't know anything suggested we go to our room and check (appears there is no handover) returned to our room to find toilet still broken and pan still full and water still constantly running. Husband returned to Reception to inform still not fixed, I just wanted to go to bed but we had to then wait up for the maintenance man to arrive who informed us he had been on duty since 4pm and it had not been reported to him. Toilet fixed within minutes and finally got to go to bed at 1am. Woke by loud talking and banging around at 5.30am from next door room.
Very impressed! Cute hotel with fun things to do. Service and friendliness were top notch. Room amenities were free, Keurig coffee, free waters, etc. Beds were clean and comfortable. Only suggestion would be cleaner bathrooms. While some things were updated, others, like grout and stained caulking were not. I would still stay there again and recommend it to friends!
Cute hotel with a great location! We stayed on the 2nd floor. The only downside was that our room was near the elevator, and I'm a light sleeper. I didn't think it was overly noisy. We absolutely loved the location. We walked to Pier 39 easily from our hotel. We would definitely stay here again. Bonus, they have great games and a fire pit downstairs!
Walls are super thin. Poor sound insulation from noise outside. Could hear people’s conversations as they walked by 4 floors down. No restaurant, bar, or even a vending machine in the building. Not even a continental breakfast. Even days inn has that. Poor water pressure in the bathroom. Metal counters make every noise louder. Could hear the next room in the mornings. Furniture is uncomfortable and awkward. They shined up a very old hotel and it shows. Designer stuff everywhere but no actual amenities for the price. Save your money and go to an art museum, money better well spent.
I have stayed at Zephyr 3 times and I always love it. Staff is so friendly, room is beautiful and the bathroom is super clean. The location is just super perfect, just around Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39. You have great restaurants around like Bistro Boudin and Fog Harbour.
The location is not 5 minutes walk from Fisherman's Wharf, the hotel service personnel are also super good, the bed of the room is also very good to sleep, the room also has the capsule coffee machine, but also attached to the paper cup, completely intimate, but the drawback is that the other hardware facilities in the room is not very good, a bit old, bed sheets and patches of traces, the overall living down is good, right, Restaurant can help call taxi 55 (including Tips 60), the room price I feel a bit inconsistent, but after all, is out to play!
The atmosphere was cool. They don't really have the typical amenities like room service. Their heater didn't seem to work and the blankets they gave us were not comfortable. A good thing is that they are located right in the center of fisherman's wharf. It's not a bad hotel but I think they need to work on something.
Beautiful boutique hotel in a good tourist location with a very limited range of food. But there is everything in the immediate vicinity. Nice and helpful staff, beautiful rooms. The interior and décor are funny and different from those in "normal" hotels. I've been here a few times and it's been good every time.
Very nice Hotel right next to the piers of San Francisco: perfect location. The common areas are full of games (billiards, ping pong etc. Which is top for entertaining. The rooms are big: nothing to say. It's a bit expensive but like all hotels in San Francisco.
This hotel is ideally located near Pier 39, Fisherman’s Wharf, ferries to surrounding tourist attractions, and has a view of Alcatraz. Room size is adequate, modern looking, and very clean. The outside courtyard area is a great place to relax, meet with friends or family, or play a game. Staff were exceptionally helpful and quick to respond to any request.
Excellent hotel! It has all the comforts, near the Pier 39, Zona Linda to tour.
This hotel is located very conveniently close to Fisherman's wharf and Pier 39. It has a big game room for ping pong, shooting pool and a variety of other games. There's an outside place with fire places where people can sit around and chat. The room over all was nice and cozy.
Extraordinary… to live both the decoration is beautiful and the place ideally placed to visit San Francisco.
We had a ocean view room, for our 40 th Anniversary, it was so cool! Our room was freshened everyday! Comfortable bed! Giant soft bath towels! Wonderful soaps & lotions. Staff very friendly and helpful! Lots of fun giant size games to play in courtyard and cozy fire pits. We’ll definitely return. Thanks Zephyr.
We are staying here for our honeymoon. The staff have been nice, although not super educated about their services. Be aware that although they advertise having Smart TVs in each room, these are not connected to the network so you can't use it as a traditional Smart TV. Also, they say that places like Boudin Bakery are "across the street, " but due to construction on… something, they really mean "around the block. " All in all, Hotel Zephyr is in a great spot, convenient to most attractions, and pretty reasonably priced. We're enjoying our stay here, but there are a couple things that make you scratch your head about the way they've advertised or set up their marketing.
Recently renovated. Lobby has a game room and center courtyard with fire pits, ping pong table, and bar. No pool in the hotel however. Rooms are nice, walking distance from fisherman's wharf, dining, and pier 39. No free parking on premises which is normal for San Francisco area. Overall the hotel gives off a youthful vibe.
I wanted to like this place. It is hip and trendy. It is right near all of the things. But let's talk about the smart TVs. For most people this will matter very little but I am not most people. The smart TV is in the room but it DOES NOT connect to the internet at all. When I tried to get this fixed I was told that it was what it was. I could have made other (and not that inconvenient) plans if they had just said that it was a TV.
The hotel is located in fantastic position in the bay, close walking distance to peir 39. The staff in the hotel were friendly and accommodating. The facilities were great. Lovely outdoor area with multiple gas fires and a games room for entertainment. The room was spacious and clean. Would definitely stay again next time we are here.
So this hotel really caught me off guard. Surprisingly modern and comfortable, our wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and parking was not outrageous if you buy the park and stay package from their website directly (it ended up being about $30 with the package instead of $55). Really quite happy we found Zephyr and we plan on returning!
I really liked the place, very central, except how strict they are about checking out!
Fantastic location and overall great hotel. Clean and trendy… The patio camper/bar with food and drinks, fire pits and games, plenty of comfy areas to sit and chill or play after a long day of sight seeing. Just loved this hotel, would definitely go back. Staff was just "OK" not overly helpful or interested really and I am pretty sure I was more knowledgeable than the concierge but all in all a great experience.
This is a great location for everything you want to do on the Wharf. It's only a couple blocks from Pier 39, and only a few minutes walk from Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not, and the SF Dungeon. Many of the rooms have a great view of the bay and Fisherman's Wharf. The hotel has been recently renovated, and you can tell. It offers an exercise room and a great games room with a pool table, table tennis, and several tables with board games. The patio area was my favorite, with some fire pits with plenty of seating, shuffleboard, giant Connect Four, and other games. The decor was very impressive — very classic-modern nautical theme throughput the whole building, inside and out. The room had a huge TV, a mini-fridge, and a clean, well-lit bathroom. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price seemed about mid-range, but the amenities and location made it more than worth it. I will definitely be staying here again on our next trip, and we've already recommended it to friends.
We couldn't have asked for a better location in the city for our long weekend of sightseeing in San Francisco. It's a short walk to Pier 39 and convenient to many streetcar and bus routes. The room was comfortable and modern. The mattress in our room was quite firmer than we were used to.
Very nice hotel The rooms are clean but for pity that there is no breakfast on site and the rooms Cote rue are very noisy!
Incredibly generous hotel! Because I was coming from Napa, they gave me a "special" rate. Was able to get a nice room that included, parking, internet, resort fees, breakfast vouchers AND let me bring my puppies! This is a place that understands community, think about that, so rare these days! Thank You Hotel Zephyr!
Really trendy and fun place to stay! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the rooms were clean and very modern. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the amenities! The location was also very good, really close to Fisherman's Wharf. That led to the only downside — parking at the hotel was really expensive (if I recall correctly, ~$50/night).
The street view of the hotel wasn't as pretty as I may have hoped, but I understand that comes with age. The lobby was beautiful very much a social hub that calls for people to spend time with board games and around a campfire. The room was nice, especially the design of the bathroom. Very nice features in the lighting set ups of the room. We had a lot of fun with the giant dart board on the wall. (Sorry to our neighbors next door) However, there were a few small cosmetic issues with the room. Minor cracks in areas of the walls in some places, and some noticeable chipping in the tile in the bathroom. But again, just things with age. It did nothing to take away from the nice location, fun of the lobby activities and the niceness of the staff.
This place is awesome. We had the perfect room. Our balcony overlooked the sea with views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz and the Sea lions at Pier 39. Close to all the touristy things you want to do in San Fran, you can walk everywhere. The hotel is really quirky and the courtyard is a must to sit and relax before heading out in the evening.
Rooms are a little run down and the amenities aren't all that great. I guess being next to the shore wears everything down. The 'hip' aesthetic seems a bit tacked on and it definitely doesn't age well. The location is great if your planning on touring the north side of SF. Some rooms have a partial view of the water front.
The rooms and resort and staff are all excellent. The location is the best location on the wharf. Reason it gets one star is due to the fact that we did not have our room even after paying close to two thousand dollars months in advance and calling the day before to confirm. Room was given to another person and the second day our room was available. Pretty annoying when travelling with a family of 5.
Perfect location! Within walking distance from the Aquarium, Exploratorium, and Piers. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The hotel has a very nice games room for both kids and adults, as well as a patio that features some nice outdoor games and seating places by a bonfire.
Very modern, aesthetically, and the bed was comfortable. Being one block from the Fisherman's Wharf area was nice too. Very nice game room and patio. Couldn't get the A/C to operate, even after maintenance worked on the unit — not a big deal to me, but my other friend was hot all night. Also, there were no small washcloths, but all other towels were available. Overall, I thought the place was nice… I'd stay here again. It kinda felt like a hostel/hotel for adults.
Hotel Zephyr is an excellent value for San Francisco vacations. It's located just minutes from the Fisherman's Wharf and all its attractions, from shops to unique restaurant experiences. The modern aesthetic of the hotel itself fits nicely with the hustle of street-level life. The rooms are nicely-sized and well furnished, and very importantly, clean. They also feature a high level of technology-savviness, with numerous charging ports for electronics and high-definition TV streaming via your devices. The front desk was consistently helpful with directions and tips for visitors of the city. Expect to pay a moderate amount for parking, but that's the deal everywhere. Enjoy your trip with Hotel Zephyr. 5 stars.
Loved the eclectic vibe of Hotel Zephyr. Great location! It was walking distance from many of the sights we came to visit. Was assisted at check-in by Geo who helped us get into our room as early as possible as well as upgraded us to a suite with an awesome ocean view for no extra cost. Found the staff to be friendly and helpful! Also got a great park and play rate which was super reasonable for this area.
I came here for my Birthday. While the Hotel is extremely appealing to the eye it leaves a lot to be desired with regards to customer service and price. $57 a day for parking is insane! My husband and I rented a vehicle overnight and parked in the hotel's lot. Although we were only there for 8 hours, someone took the liberty of charging my card for 2 days worth of charges! Also, at the nightly rate of $309 per night, the front desk staff could use a few lessons in etiquette and customer service. Jose was extremely rude and disrespectful when I came to the desk initially to ask questions about parking. Needless to say, I will NEVER stay here again! Stay Away! Look elsewhere! Regina Wilson.
Rooms are nice and clean. Well appointed, though a little on the small side. Staff are pleasant and do a fine job. Front lobby a bit too artsy for my liking.
If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. Com Booked a room on there and they had the cheapest rates around… Quirky hotel in middle of the wharf area Close to all locations VERY Friendly and helpful staff who will always stop and assist Great knowledge of the area and sights. Could not fault this hotel Will be staying again for sure when in town. Ask for the rear rooms away from Beach street if you are annoyed by passing trolley trams. Has a great games room and outdoor courtyard full of quirky seats/statues. Great Place!
Expensive and the rooms are smaller. But VERY good service. Fantastic game room. The yard is a great place to hang out. View is fantastic. Staff is very helpful with planning your trip.

We stayed here on our honeymoon and it was a great hotel. The room was a little on the small side, but for the two of us it was more than adequate. The room and the public spaces were clean, and nicely decorated. The courtyard outside was very nice with the fire pits and outdoor seating, great for a relaxing night after a long day of walking the city.
Trendy place that is a nice change of pace from the ordinary. It's well within walking distance from a good chunk of local attractions it's worth the price for the convenience. Friendly staff and clean. My biggest complaint is the internet and business center, it says the internet is free but it's not, got charged seven bucks a day for it! The business center charges you to use it in the same way and charges. 70 cents a page to print! One more thing, bring your own pillows, theirs are horrible, something you could expect are a seedy dive not a place like this!
Top location, 5 minute walk everywhere where there are top Touristic Points.
Nice staff.
Price some gegobener.
Especially great, I find that every day two new water bottles in the room are available.
Designtechnisch very playful and filigree.
Quiet and comfortable to sleep.
This place is for tour groups only, dont waste your time. No pool, not hot tub, no coffee in lobby, no breakfast, no smoking on the balcony… For the price we paid, this hotel hasnt got a thing. Stay for less with better ammenities at the Sheraton across the street or the Holiday Inn Express, were you will at least get a breakfast for the price of your "suite". This place has nothing you come to expect from good hotels in America. Over 1500 for the two rooms for two nights and we will never recommend this to anyone.
Hotel decorated with taste and originality, great location for everything. Room large and comfortable.
Little be a bar for a drink at home imitating a fire of wood, but also friendly. The small supermarket on the corner easily fills this small gap. Large games room and deco nice.
Back to SF, it is here that I will return.
Had a lovely stay. Perfect location with plenty of parking. The room was an updated nautical theme. Comfy bed, nice sheets. Air conditioner worked great. The room was really quiet. Only complaint is that there wasn't a comfy chair in the room. Everyone that we spoke to that worked there was nice and professional. We will stay there again next time!
Nice staff, great concierge and location. Rooms are small and lacking in some amenities, and you get a lot of noise from other guests, the street, and worst of all the plumbing. Overall not bad though.
We stayed for an entire week and loved our stay! This is the closest hotel to Pier 39 and by far the coolest! So many games for the kids and adults! The room was super clean and all of the staff were very friendly! The CVS and IHOP just downstairs was super convenient! We are looking forward to our next stay at HZ!
Thanks so much for our unbelievable stay! Superb decor and rooms are really nice and clean. Fun games room too!
Location was perfect in Fisherman's Wharf. Within walking distance to many of the major attractions in the Wharf. Lisa checked us in and was AWESOME! She was very nice to us and gave us a complimentary upgrade because there was availability. She also gave my two boys a surprise candy when we checked in. Thank you Lisa for an awesome start to a great experience at Hotel Zephyr. If we ever visit the area again, we will absolutely stay here.
Expensive for what it is, rooms are small and poor quality (it's a discarded ex-big brand hotel, refurbed in a funky way). Reception etc and outdoor seating are pretty cool though. Booked a sea view, got about 10% of the view from the balcony within sight of the sea. Only a 3 day stopover for us so we didn't make a big deal of this. We did make a big deal of the laundry though. Do not use it! We were hit by a $200 bill, we didn't even have much to get cleaned. It's outsourced and a complete rip off, couldn't get much negotiation at all once we saw the bill. Steer clear, go the extra mile and use somewhere like The Argonaut, more expensive but SF is not cheap. Worth paying for the better hotels, this one's poor.
