Hilgard House Westwood Village Hotel

Much better than I expected. Nice clean room & beds. Pretty good continental breakfast with gourmet bagels and great coffee much better than most "free" breakfasts. Not hot cooked ones but great otherwise. Nothing to complain. Parking is tight so be aware. Only $10 (in LA! )

Rooms are on the small side, but not excessively so. Everything is clean and tastefully decorated. Free, excellent coffee and free espresso machine all the time in the lobby! Friendly and helpful staff, conveniently located near UCLA.

The parking was great and easy to get into. The staff was very courteous and helpful, and the room was amazing. I couldn't have asked for more. It is only a few minutes from UCLA and anything else you could want is within walking distance.

Nice rooms with nice lobby. Enjoyed the service delivered by the patrons working the front desk. Conveniently located in the heart of Westwood.

It could definitely use an update and renovation, but it is a very nice hotel with a really great staff. And the cake Donuts they have with breakfast are phenomenal.

We only stayed on night as we were down for medical reason. Lt me tell you what if no other reason its the pillows. The are just wonderful I have never slept on such great Pillows ever not even in my home I am try to buy some now I am just sayen I am on a mission. Thank you Frieda Hutchison.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR CONSUMERS WHO GOES OR PLAN TO GO TO THIS HOTEL! This hotel is contaminated with horrible workers and managers! The workers are slacking and have a foul mouth, My investigation on these employers not all are bad but majority of them are drug dealers, strangers who dresses someone else information and steal the job, I saw an employee slacking and laying down in a room drinking and smoking marijuana, majority of the workers are abusing the law when it comes to DRUG FREE WORKPLACE and they are breaking the rules! Another investigation of this hotel an employee woman sells her American Citizenship to an illegal immigrant without the police noticing what's going on in this hotel, They are doing illegal acts. Whoever reads this please do an investigation of this hotel for its unfair acts towards Customers and Employee Rights I have much more information regarding to this hotel dirty secrets thank you for reading this and don't plan to book a hotel here. Stayed there for several days. While the location was good for UCLA, the hotel itself was very run down with peeling wall paper, very worn carpets and furniture. There were also strong chemical odors either in the room or coming in from outside the entire time. Bearable, but not enjoyable for cut rate travel.

Always a positive experience, it is a small boutique hotel in Westwood. Perfect if you have business at UCLA! The staff is what makes this place extra special. Breakfast is included.

The young man who checked us in was proficient but charmless, especially when he directed us to use the stairs with all our bags in tow, when an elevator was available. I stayed 3 nights when I had medical appointments at Ucla. I found my room clean, appointed adequately. The bed was comfortable, the TV got a lot of channels. I was alone,

Nice staff. Dated rooms and decor. Minimal parking. Horrible smell coming from heater when used. Nice larfe bathtubs. Decent place, but not a good value for the price. More comparable to motel 6 then confort inn.

The room was acceptable, but needed updating, especially he carpet. The breakfast in the morning was very good.

Very comfortable. Nice soft bed, but it might be a little noisy outside. I slept through the noise just fine though… just something to consider. Also there is breakfast in the lobby so you can grab a quick bite before heading out.

Great price for the excellent location. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff are very nice and friendly.

Cosy hotel, close to UCLA, restaurants and budjet car rental. Nice staff and good breakfast.

Good beds. Everything you need, including an AC. Even had a room with a little seating area in the window. Two floors for parking, basement parking is a tight drive, heads up. But over all, we might have found our LA hotel.

Rooms are badly in need of an upgrade. The exterior could use some pressure washing, and it doesn't help that the W is directly across the street with a far superior product. Nevertheless, it got the job done.

I only gave them a one star because it wouldn't allow me to give 0 stars which is what this DUMP deserves. They charge parking on top of their rip off room rates! Stupid people at desk, no complimentary anything! The continental breakfast is horrible. Better to walk around the block to Ralph's and go to Starbucks. VERY over priced, bathroom was dirty, staff rude indifferent. Why wast $200.00 a night to stay here where they treat you like an inconvenience to them instead of a guest?

I felt that the front desk staff didn't really know anything and they didn't have any complimentary deodorant, sunscreen, etc. The only helpful thing they did was hand us maps. The breakfast area was too small. I don't know how this could be considered a 3.5 star hotel when they don't offer any hot breakfast. You couldn't eat breakfast in there without getting in other people's way. The tub in the room would have been nice (very spacious) but for the fact that it looked dirty. It was definitely more yellow than white. The cleaning woman was very nice. And the best part of the hotel was that they had two small bookcases when you first walk in that you are more than welcome to take a book to read while you head to the beach or campus.

It was a nice place where the hotel is close to UCLD, a good place to take a walking or running!

Friendly staff, good breakfast, parking near campus (basically impossible otherwise), and a discount for visiting someone at UCLA. Not a bad mix!

This is a classic Westwood establishment. Dark woods give it an oldschool vibe.

Lovely and quaint hotel close to the UCLA campus. Great restaurants and stores within walking distance. Several museums and botanical gardens are also within walking distance. Right behind Hotel is an incredible grocery store with everything you can imagine. For me it was the perfect location quiet room and helpful staff.

The hotel is tired but very clean and reasonably priced.

The best Omni property we've been at, when it comes to service and attitude. We've met around 20 people so far, and everyone from valet to restaurant manager have been absolutely fantastic. As a top-tier select member, our status have been honoured In every way, and we've felt very welcome. We've brought our 4-year old, and she's been high-fiving her way through the weekend with the staff. We'll be back!

Not family friendly. They want to know why your in town and what your doing here. They also will not let families or couples stay in the same room and they suggest that families are limited to 2 people per room and the children have to purchase a separate room because they cant stay in the same room with their parents even if there are two beds in the room! absolutely ridiculous besides the fact that it sounded like drew was making up the prices based on his personal survey of the conversation. Pass.

The Wi-Fi here was so bad that I had to make alternative arrangements to join a work meeting. They also have those annoying hangers designed to protect against theft, which is odd at this price point. Convenient location for UCLA but not much else going for it.

Clean nice room and so convenient to everything at Ucla, Westwood, and even the beach.

It was alright. Has a cozy, home feeling but everything looks nice and is clean. The breakfast is minimal but yummy. They do offer coffee and tea all day though. The TV and internet service was decent. Overall wasn't bad but isn't the best either.

This hotel is disgusting. It is a blast from the past (60's maybe 70's). There are two bldgs to this hotel I was not n the main bldg. The second bldg appears to be an old apt bldg that they have hodge podge together to make additional rooms. The room smelled like mold & mildew, and the carpet was horribly stained. Central air & heat forget about it. There is a wall unit for the air, and NO HEAT! A space heater is provided to warm your room. This room was booked due to no availability at other hotels near UCLA. However, had I known the condition of the room, I would have dealt with the traffic and gotten up 5 hrs early before staying here. Not only is the room in terrible condition, the nerve of them to charge approx if not more than rooms in the area that are better kept! Last but not least! My advice DO NOT BOOK HERE!
