We had a lovely brunch at Sea Level Restaurant. Full safety precautions were taken including temperatures of everyone in the party, distance seating, fully masked and face shielded staff, and masks required of patrons. The menu was very well done and all dishes were beautifully presented and very tasty. The Harbor Breakfast, Eggs Benedict with avocado, French Toast, and burger are all highly recommended. The outdoor dining Harborside was scenic and very comfortable. As a bonus, our little doggie was welcome. We will return.

Loved it so much! Was celebrating with my 20 year old daughter, and the bay view room with tub, nice bathroom, comfortable bed and all around nice design were great. Serious kudos to front desk staff who went above and beyond to help with restaurant reservations. Ate at sea level dinner and brunch — service and food were great. I will come again and recommend.

Looks like a nice place to relax and enjoy your vacation. Several event rooms available with different capacities. The maximum number of guests for their event rooms are 250 people.

Awesome service. They really took care of us. Rooms are modern and clean, as I believe the entire hotel was gutted and renovated top-to-bottom when it changed hands a couple years ago. Fun adjustable mood lighting, and the in-room purchasable amenities include couple-friendly accessories and mid-sized bottles of liquor, wine and champagne.

Fabulous hotel. Super clean and staff are always accommodating. View from the patio shows the marina up close. This was our 3rd stay at the redondo location and it is always amazing. We were greeted by two very sweet receptionists and of course we couldn’t turn down the free champagne at check-in. We will be back again very very soon.

Was here for a professional event. The food and drinks were good, and the view of the harbor was excellent. However, the pool area of the top floor deck the event was on was filled with regular hotel guests, so it would have been nice to have the space to ourselves at the event.

I love this hotel and have stayed three times, but their recent lack of customer care is disappointing. I checked in and the quote my team had been given was around $300 a night. When I checked in my bill was upwards of $489 a night. Instead of honoring our relationship and the quote their team provided to us they were rude and wouldn’t even have a member of management come out and speak with me. The front desk staff are kind but have no decision making power. The sales director finally said the best they could do was $419 a night. My conference was starting and I had no time to make other arrangements. Long story short to say that their management team has no morals on the ideals of customer care and loyalty. In an industry that historically prides itself on retention and care they have some basic training needs that should be remedied.

Had no idea what to expect from here but as it was the only hotel in the area with an available room for a literal last-second planned weekend family getaway we gave them a shot. And don't regret it at all. The front desk staff was very friendly and offered us a complimentary glass of champagne and cake pops. We arrived in the evening when the bar next door was in full swing and were concerned with all the noise but as soon as we closed our room door, it was totally quiet. Was not expecting that at all. Where other hotels usually let in noise via the room' main entrance, Shade clearly put lots of effort in making sure no noise came into their rooms, very nice. Of course there's always the struggle with people on the floor above stomping around but it happens and at least didn't hear it too much during our stay. The bathtub on the balcony is nice but as our room was on the first floor and entirely visible to people walking by, it was a little awkward. We were still able to make use of it but the balcony curtain had to be fully closed so we couldn't enjoy the view of the marina. Shame really because that would have been perfect. One nice thing was their Wi-Fi was surprisingly quick, at least quick enough to stream youtube. Most other hotels either limit your usage or throttle the speed for everyone. Overall a nice place and I hope they keep up their maintenance investment to keep everything in good running order.

A beautiful addition to King Harbor! We received excellent customer service with complimentary glasses of sparking wine, cake pops, continental breakfast and bikes for the beach! The room was spacious, spectacular view, wide sliding doors to open onto the harbor and soaking tub on the patio. Valet service, and assistance with the bags were also included. The atmosphere was perfect for the beach, and relaxing weekend. Modern, CLEAN, energetic, but peaceful. The bed was amazing! Think Tempurpedic like bed, with snuggly duvets and down pillows. The bathroom had an incredible large shower, and it was all for a great comparable price. I’m a Redondo native, and returning for a visit was quite incredible. This place is where Red Onion was, for those returning.

Wow! I love this hotel. Great experience. Unique and boutique. The ceiling lights are color adjustable. Nice for a special night. Get the room with the patio bathtub. Totally awesome to take a bath on the deck of your room looking over the wharf. I stay here during the week just for the patio totally awesome room and patio bath.

The shade hotel was a great experience! Has a hot tube pool on the roof with great views of the sunset. The interior is sleek and modern. I would definitely stay here again.

The view is outstanding, the room spacious, and well laid out. The large bathtub on the balcony overlooking the harbor… amazing. Great rooftop lounge. But when a stranger is mistakenly given a key to your room because of a clerical blunder… Walks into your room while you are in sensitive moment with your spouse: THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! Not for $300 a night. Really not at any price! The intruder, also a costumer, was nice enough. But what if he wasn't. And my wife alone in the room. Or what if we were not there at all, with our valuables at risk. Bad news either way. The desk attendant, messed up by programming and handing the key to an unauthorized customer. And maybe someone messed up by moving reservations around and not updating the records properly. Wherever the screw up originated… It is a major one! Update: The hotel did reach out through their rooms director to apologize and offer restitution. Apology accepted. Added another star!

The Shade Hotel is truly one of the finest hotels I have ever visited. Not because of its elegance or location but because of its approach to traveler comfort and service. From Meggie to Ashley to Kayleigh to Mason and Cassandra, this is a place where individuals actually do get to know your name. And they not only care. They care deeply and genuinely and that is such a plus for travelers. The Sea Level Restaurant on the property is a outstanding! Wee arranged a dinner for eight at the restaurant and the food was simply superb! So good that we retuned to Sea Level Feor dinner the next night for the beautiful views, the great food, and the outstanding service. Again, we were not only not disappointed. We were wowed! You can trust The Shade Hotel for top quality service in every aspect of your stay from comfort to dining. Enjoy! Would be difficult not to enjoy.

We first walked in and greeted by a complementary glass of champagne, the rooms and views were very nice and modern. I came to LA to visit a long time friend and we were really excited to hang out in the rooftop hot tub. When I went to ask the front desk about this, the guy told us that “it’s closed because there is no big event going on. ” (This was about 830pm) Are you kidding me?! I just paid nearly $300 a night here and you close the hot tub, (one of the main reasons I came here was the rooftop hot tub). To me that’s totally unexceptable, it was not broken, they just closed it. Laziness, maybe we didn’t pay enough money, whatever the case not cool. Otherwise nice place, most people that work here are nice.

I spent a little my weekend here for my 60th birthday, and this beautiful hotel far surpassed my expectations, which is rare. I upgraded to the Penthouse at a reduced rate, the hotel staff left me a personally signed birthday card and a bottle of nice champagne. Did I mention that the room came with a baby keg of Stella Artois? I don't drink beer, but my new friends that I met there certainly did, lol! The restaurant, Sea Level was so fantastic I never ventured to the many other great restaurants I. The area. Special thanks to Angela at the front desk, and Richard, in the restaurant. Outstanding rooms! Coming from Minnesota we especially enjoyed the outdoor patio bathtubs. The view was great with the heated rooftop pool. Attached restaurant prices were a little high and the service was 50/50 depending on the day. We will stay here again.

I really like the SeaLevel restaurant vibe and view. Food is decent and like the happy hour menu. My one critique is when the bar is so crowded during happy hour times, they real need more staffing. I was there for my birthday and it took a long time between drinks to get service. I don't blame the servers, just think management needs to do better at staffing. Also, I ended bussing the table constantly myself because dishes were piling up. I used to be a waitress so it's 2nd nature to me I guess. I jokingly said to my friends they should split the waitstaff tip with me! Since I was constantly cleaning off the table. Oh well. Maybe next experience will be better. But so far the 3 times I've been there service seems to be slow.

The room and staff were both 5 star — from the moment we got in: cake pops for all 4 of us, champagne for the adults. The room was spacious and we were fortunate enough to face the harbor. Love the deck tub — enjoyed the heated pool on the roof as well! The complimentary breakfast was above and beyond. Would highly recommend this hotel!
