This hotel was worth every penny! My husband and I stayed in the king sweet. The room was very comfortable and the decor made me feel at home. I absolutely love the barn door in the bathroom! What a unique touch. The room and hotel have all the amenities, and the staff was exceptional. Given that this hotel is about 15 minutes from Newport beach and Huntington beach, and is a fraction of the cost of others in the area, this will be my go to from now on. Also, the bright side breakfast was wonderful! Hot fresh food, fruit, coffee and juices etc; much better than your typical pack of month old donuts and muffins. Thank you La Quinta, my first time to California and my stay at your hotel made it just that much better! Also, as an anthropologist I must say I absolutely love the culture and arts in Santa Ana! My husband and I will be back soon!

Newly renovated, very modern, would definitely stay there again since last night was our first night and we booked it through the weekend. Very nicely done outside and construction work is being finished but all the rooms are done. Breakfast was wonderful with plenty of selections. Wonderful water pressure and a comfortable bed with nice room lighting and plenty of electrical. Also included is the microwave and refrigerator along with two flat screen TVs in our suite. Next door to Embassy Suites that has a restaurant and there is another bar and grill at the end of the stick, both within walking distance.

The rooms are very nice and renovated. Mine had a coffee machine, fridge, 2 TVs, and a sectional in the "living room" arra. Free breakfast is fairly decent. Also, you can stay with your dog free of charge. Staff is friendly and accommodating, I had no problem checking in past 3am. Location is good if you don't want to be far from the beaches too.

Great service, really clean hotel rooms. The only reason it’s 4/5 is because they didn’t mention construction but it didn’t really bother me so it was fine. Rest enjoyed my stay. Looking forward to go back!

Fully remodeled inside. The outside was still under remodel construction. My king size bed room was king size all around. Large sofa, 2 TVs, fridge. Very clean and quiet.

The hotel is going under renovation and some sections are closed. I love my room since it was big and modern. The room had a fridge and 2 TVs. Parking is free but you to ask for a pink parking pass. The hotel has a pool and jacuzzi. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast.

Love this hotel I started staying here on a weekly basis for personal business and despite the construction if you talk to "Victoria" @ the front desk she will do what she can to accommodate your needs and ensure your stay is worth while. Outside isn't the prettiest but once entering the room everything is modern and contemporary and clean! Thank you Victoria for your hospitality I will choose this hotel because of your eagerness to accommodate guest.

Nicely remodeled rooms. They did not upgrade mattresses, so they are a bit lumpy. The room are big, functional, and with 2 Tv's you can switch back and forth between commercials and not miss a thing. The couch area is huge and really practical. Airport shuttle runs every hour on the half hour which is inconvenient since the airport is 5 min away. Had to leave at 6:30 for a 8:30 flight. John Wayne is a pretty small airport. You can get through security in about 10 min. So I had plenty of time. Hotel staff is curt but courteous. Breakfast was hot with scrambled eggs, sausage patties, biscuits and potatoes. This hotel is worth the price. I would stay here again and again.

This review is under construction… as is the hotel. The remodeled rooms and lobby are great. Quality details. Really comfortable. The outside was under construction while we were here; so it's a work in progress. We look forward to seeing how it all turns out in the future.

Great staff. New clean modern rooms. Neighborhood is shady. Numerous cars have been broken into on a nightly basis, including mine. Aside from the unpleasant characters in and around the motel the property is fairly clean but the pool and hot tub is amazing, as well as the free breakfast. Also lots of fast food nearby.

Every room is now great redone modern mini suites… super awesome and the continental breakfast is great too… price point is reasonable with AAA discount.

The room itself was really nice since it was a remodeled room for our last three nights in Cali. However, that’s about were the perks ended. As mentioned it’s still in renovation stage — so if booking I would call ahead to see if it’s finished since no websites for booking state this, and construction goes from 8AM-7PM. The morning after night 1 we were woken up by the entire fire alarm system going off with no notice for about two minutes. When we called the front desk the person working seemed unphased about it. The last two days we were woken up by construction starting at 7AM not 8, and the final day the alarm again going off only at 7:30. Until the construction is finished I would not recommend staying here with the unpredictability of things that happen with it. You can pay the same price for an equally nice place without all the noise and hassle.

Major remodeling underway. Restricted services and amenities. Dramatically reduced parking due construction. Don't stay here until they finish.

It's good for the price and the beds are nice, but I tried 3 rooms and they all smelled like cigarettes. It's not necessarily their fault since it's out of town guests doing it, but it still impacts me all the same. If you're here for a night or two, it's a good deal and I recommend it. If you're here for a week or more on vacation, I'd recommend somewhere a little nicer.

The hotel was undergoing renovations and was in poor condition. Our room had been renovated but the barn door to the bathroom would not close correctly and would not lock. The walls were thin and the grounds had some garbage around. It didn't have any bugs and the breakfast was good. Overall not the worst place I have stayed, and I am sure it will be much better once their renovations are completed.

The bathroom door did not lock nor even close all the way (it was a sliding door) and the air conditioning didn't seem to work most of the nights I was there, but otherwise the room and service was exquisite. If you don't mind a little heat and a lack of privacy from the people you're staying with, definitely stay at this place.

Currently undergoing renovation, a fact they failed to mention during the booking process. We would have booked elsewhere had we known. We had a room next to what turned out to be the laundry, and it sounded like they were drying shoes all … night … long. It woke me several times it was so loud. The spa is not under cover, which makes it unusable if it rains. I hope you like browned scrambled eggs, sausage patties you can't cut with the plastic knife provided, and waffles. That was breakfast every day. One of the waffle irons consistently destroyed every waffle made in it. Also fruit, toast and yogurt. We had an excellent view of the bumper to bumper traffic on the 55 freeway. The bed had an interesting high spot that made getting comfortable an adventure. Would I roll to the middle or out of bed? Challenging and fun! The construction workers were friendly even if the did set up high pressure water cleaning by my car, park a forklift partially behind me and a high lift behind that. I appreciated the help in fine tuning my backing skills as I slalomed through the equipment. Will we ever come back? That depends on how much they offer to pay us to stay again.

Positives: Nice employees Remodeled room is beautiful and comfortable Negatives: No Wi-Fi for 2 nights (Scheduled to be fixed tomorrow). Have to keep a permit on my dash to keep car from being towed. The HVAC unit has a control and there is also control on the wall. It is unclear which one should be used. The hotel is being remodeled but I am not holding that against them. Tip: skip the hotel breakfast for Red Hill Cafe. Simple, cheap, and delicious.

The hotel was under construction so it was hard to sleep in past 8am. The room was newly remodeled though, that was a plus. The location should be fully upgraded in a few months.

Good value for the cost. Not much food nearby. But I don't worry about that. Excellent place to stay for work.

Rooms look really nice and modern, but lots of renovations are going on. We didn't spend much time there during the morning so not sure if it would be annoying during the day. The breakfast is quite complete and the machine made waffles are very nice.

Positive: I enjoy staying at the Santa Ana, CA La Quinta. The new rooms are really nice and very comfortable. LQ employees are always helpful, accommodating and nice. Only downfall is the limited parking, even more so with construction going on. Negative: This stay the employee running the breakfast area tried to close a half hour early almost not letting my companion in but yet letting in her what appeared to be her friends and other employees to take the extra food.

Not a real hotel and too expensive for a motel. Things not said on websites… rooms are noisy with thin walls. Additionally, there are no hotel services which make convenience a consideration when paying for a hotel experience such as room service for those who have to work from the room. They also failed to reveal that they have significant remodeling underway which makes access to the lobby and elevators inconvenient and should allow for a discount for putting up with carrying luggage when going on this exploration. A suggestion would be to pay a few dollars more for the neighboring Embassy Suites. Wish I could review this property better as it shows well on websites but the reality is less than great. As I'm a frequent business traveler I will no doubt have the opportunity to review this property again in the future.

3 stars probably because they are remodelling right now. The rate was good, the room was fine although the layout odd and the TV was super far away. The bathroom really showed it's age with peeling paint, rust in the tub, etc. Hopefully the remodeled rooms get them back up to 4 stars.

My stay at the La Quinta Inn was wonderful. It is located right off of the 55 freeway at the Dyer Road exit. The rooms are recently renovated.

I love La Quinta! We always have a beautiful room and free breakfast is always a money saved! Thank you for being there every time we need a place to stay! You guys are the best!

As of this stay, they are in the process of remodeling. I spent the night in one of the remodeled rooms. Very nice! Breakfast was very nice with plenty of variety for a short stay.

Had a wonderful time here on our anniversary. Great room, great bed, clean, new, well kept. Dispute current construction and a slight detour from room to elevator (Which we really only used when carrying cases) weren't bothered by noise or anything. Fantastic desk and room service.

I've stayed here a few times and I liked it but this time I loved it. The rooms are updated and awesome. Good job LA Quinta.

The room was clean and the rate was great, but you get what you pay for. The sink got clogged and the AC was not cold. The room was warmish. Have been to better hotels. Hope they fix this when they renovate.

Very hospitable hosts. Hotel is being upgraded so not all rooms are available, but those that are are nice. Good pool and spa.

The hotel is doing extensive remodeling and the new rooms are beautiful! Mattresses are new and very comfy! Great location middle of everything OC. Within miles of orange county. Staff was very nice!

Stayed for 2 nights. Great location, close proximity to lots of dining, shopping and entertainment options. There is plenty of parking as well, and hot breakfast every morning with a decent variety of items (cereal, eggs, sausage, waffles, toast, bagels, muffins, fresh cut fruit, yogurt, etc). Other awesome features include lots of usb charging ports, a mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker.

Our first room they put us in was a mess so they assigned us another room. This second room had a terrible smell but at 1am I just decided to deal with it. Other then that it was a nice place.

Gross. Went with my son to Disneyland and the room that was reserved for me had a crackpipe in the bathroom. We got moved to another room and guess what that has a towel that had blood stain on it. Dont know the area much to look for another hotel so we srill stayed there but in a third completely diferent room that smelled of cigarettes. Fucked up experience.

Bed and bathroom were clean the sleeper sofa and desk chair were terrible dirty though I did not use it was nice to have a microwave fridge and extra kitchen sink conveniently close to Disneyland.

Shady atmosphere. Transient traffic all day. Locals use as personal sex rooms. Which is cool when it's not obvious. Homeless people and "users" invade breakfast and steal food… Every morning! (One employee when she is working… kicks them out, but she can't get them all. ) Housekeeping is meh.

My room seemed rather large for a very reasonable price. Came equipped with fridge, microwave, large comfortable king size bed. The concrete walls blocked out any if all the freeway noise. Conveniently located next to Denny's off 5-fwy.

The room was kept very clean and the entire stuff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The pool and hot tub were kept in great condition. Overall it was a very positive experience!

During my stay, the hotel was under renovation and the entire front of the hotel was blocked off by construction. Overall though, my stay was quite acceptable. I'm not too picky of a person, so little things don't bother me much. If you go here not expecting a 5 star resort, then you'll be fine. My room was quite large, and included a couch, king sized bed, refrigerator, microwave, and HD TV. For the price, I enjoyed staying here. This location is near an airport though, so some people might get bothered by the noise. I wasn't bothered at all by it though.

Great place to stay! Located close to the office district and hence good to stay for business. But not much around as a tourist.

I always like a fast check in. I liked that I was able to reserve my room and get there and check in without any issues. The room was clean and big. The bed was comfortable. I have absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

Stayed here showed up the staff us young and very immature. Got to our room and a. C did not work. Told a staff member he told us he could do nothing. Manager was not on duty. Will never stay at another la quinta again.

The suites are very spacious and nice. My wife, our dog and I stayed for a month the maids won't bother you at all as long as u put the do not disturb sign up an they will get u anything u ask for right away!

Nice sized room with a pull out sofa for an additional guest. The pull out bed did not have a blanket just sheets. So I am asumming you need to request those ahead of time. Plenty of towels and space at the bath room. The TV was viewable by the couch and not optimized for the bed. Not the best lay out but better for some one trying to sleep while other people are present.

The room setup itself wasn't bad, though we specifically asked for a non-smoke room and upon checking in and going to our room discovered that the room smelled of smoke. It wasn't that bad, but a but of a nuisance. The continental breakfast and pool were nice.

Clean & awesome dog policy! Nice rooms… the glitter on the couch could have been less but I imagine that's hard to get up.

My room faced the CW Hotel and was very peacful. The staff was helpful and maintenance fixed the A/C problem I had immediately. The breakfast was really good and includes hardboiled eggs, Waffles, and a variety of pastries, bagels and muffins. This hotel is very affordable in comparison to the ones that surround it.

Nice rooms love that they allow animals, however there isn't really any areas outside that are designated for your dog to relieve themself. Only concrete and curbside shrubbery and bushes. Would have given 5 stars had there been even the tiniest patch of grass provided just for the dogs. Other than that had a wonderful stay.

We decided to stay an extra day at Disney and got a room here on Priceline for $70 So clean and Nice decor. We got a king size bed in a suite! So impressed, nice outdoor patio to eAt our complimentary breakfast on I love this place!

Nice room, asked them for more towel before we got there and they had them on the bed. They forgot shampoo for my room though.

My stay at the LA Quimta inn was amazing, clean rooms, bathrooms etc. The maid service was very friendly and helpful. I will be staying again.

Great value. It's not a 4 star hotel, mind you. It's a 4 star rating for value. Complementary breakfast, nice rooms, close to the airport and food. Very reasonably priced.

Nightmare at La Quinta! Four nights-we should have a good time — Ms Angelica took the reservation, she ask for my credit card, I denied and she informed me, it is for my hotel bill. I told her I will pay in cash, please don't block my card — $ 100. — will be fine. She blocked the card without my permission for the whole bill Thank you!?!. The room was dirty, the toilet was blocked on two different days, it took hours to fix it, I paid $ 170.00 per night for a $ 30.00 Motel, breakfast stops at 9.00 am, why? I hand in my complaints in writing to Nicole Jones — General Manager — and ask her to response in writing (07/31/15), no response. I will write to the Better Business and the Head Office of La Quinta.

Very disappointed. The room smelled of animal urine. Carpets were filthy. Definitely not worth the money they charge. Bathroom wasnt clean. Still dirty towels hanging on the shower rod. Maid didnt even knock when she entered my room. They need to have rooms just for pets. Dog and cat hair was all over everything. Do not waste your money.

Terrible customer service and dirty rooms. The carpet was years beyond normal wear replacement. Convenient location is the only positive.

Want to evict us at 2 am. With two children asleep in the room. That as they received many calls complaining that we were making too much noise, when we were just talking and listening to music of the cell leaves much to be desired by you, I do not is if anything by the music and the voices were in Spanish acted that way. That is racism Lords. I at least do not return to their hotel.

My daughter woke up with a bunch of bites on her leg from the pull out sofa, only good thing I can say would be the breakfast.

My wife and I only stay at La Quita Inns because we prefer the larger room. We did not know that some of their hotels are a "FRANCHISE" and not owned by La Quinta company. This was the first time we stayed at this one because of the location being near John Wayne Airport. Although all of the staff was friendly and helpful, the room had a lot to be desired. The room is designated "smoke free" but the odor of cigarette smoke was noticeable in the from. The carpet looked like it had not been cleaned since the hotel open many years ago. Although it is an "O. K" place to stay, we will choose a different La Quinta and just get up a little earlier and drive a little farther to the airport.

You get what you pay for I suppose, but it is on the lower end. The hotel needs updating and the carpets need a good deep cleaning. We walked in and the room right away smelled muggy; I noticed the carpet stains which could be the main issue. As for space its a good size, and the room was only moderately clean. The bathroom definitely needed to be cleaned better. Some of the issues with the bathroom were the tile floor which had cracks and looked like it needed to be scrubbed, the shower curtain looked dirty, and the mirror had not been completely wiped down because I noticed a note someone wrote and left behind. During the days we stayed the cable only worked one day. I don't consider myself picky, but in all I just wish the place had been cleaner.

Quality was ok but the light switches didnt work correctly in rm 115 and the temperature of the water in the shower kept going back and forth between hot and cold as it pleased. Btw, the breakfast SUCKS! No pancakes, no bacon, and the waffles taste HORRIBLE.

Great room and great value. Called on a Friday and booked a room for 3 nights. Stayed in a room with a fridge, sink, microwave, couch and flat screen TV for the best price in So Cal. Staff was very friendly and prompt. Landscaping was very nice, had a nice pool and hot tub. Breakfast was good, enjoyed a variety of foods each morning. Location was convenient to the freeway and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
