I too would give this place a zero star if I could. This ‘property’ is located in a ‘strip mall’ for a lack of a better word… I booked the property on Expedia because looking at booking it directly with the property on their website, it was a better price with Expedia. I’m going to preface my review by saying this was not an Expedia issue… the hotel is not clear on their own website, which I argued with David (the worst manager around) repeatedly about. The cancellation policy on Expedia states you must cancel 3 days prior to not be charged the 1st night. No problem there. I was charged on my credit card prior to my arrival, which I didn’t expect to have happen. This was the hotel doing this, not Expedia. Then when I arrived David wanted a deposit of $150. I told him I had already been charged for the room. I said so take the difference for the deposit as I don’t have enough on my card for you to charge me an additional $150. He told me no, he needed an additional $150, and I told him to refund my pre-paying the room then if he wanted to the $150. He stated it’s their policy to charge you for the room at check in as well as $150 for incidentals (damages he kept saying) I’m standing there with my boyfriend and my 12 year old disabled daughter… while he keeps arguing with me — LITERALLY ARGUING and telling me to read the rules and stop trying to bend the rules… I completely understand wanting a deposit for incidentals… however, I don’t understand why I’m supposed to prepay for my room at check in, you pay when you check out. He kept arguing that I call Expedia about the $150 deposit… and I kept saying it’s not the deposit I’m having issue with… it’s the fact that you already charged me for my room 4 days ago when It wasn’t a prepaid room I was booking, and now you want to charge me a deposit too, charge me the difference and I’ll pay for the room at check out like every other hotel that isn’t booked as a prepaid rate… Nope… just sat there arguing with me about it being policy. So I went on HIS website, to HIS terms and Conditions and it says NOTHING about having to PREPAY the room at check in… it does mention the $150 deposit, again which I have no issue with… I repeatedly said to him, read your own terms and conditions… it says NOTHING about having to pay for the room at CHECK IN… You want over $300 at check in. David has ZERO customer service skills. He just argues… and then talks to his other employee standing next to him in front of you in his native Indian language which was flat out RUDE as well. I called Expedia while in his ‘lobby’ which was a very small area. I explained to the agent the problem and that I wanted my money back so we could go elsewhere. He did confirm that it didnt state in their policy to be pre-charged for the room, but they do require the deposit. He said he was going to forward this information to whom needed it with Expedia so they could make that clear in their booking notes for other people who wrongly choose to book this property… The only good thing David did during this mess was to advise Expedia that he would allow a refund of the pre-payment of the room. Oh I should mention, that I told David numerous times that my card didn’t have enough funds to charge again, yet he ran it again anyways and says, it’s declined… Yea buddy, I already told you it would decline… and not only that, he was charging me the room rate again, $140.93 — not $150 deposit… but I digress… don’t stay here… I can’t tell you a thing about the rooms themselves, but the hotel is not in an appealing area… at all… one of the other businesses that its attached to is a liquor store… and quite frankly if you go down the road a bit you will find a much nicer property for less money with FRIENDLY staff — who great you with smiles and Welcoming you to their place… clean rooms, complimentary breakfast, and free Wi-Fi, and free parking… and not in a shady strip mall at the Fairfield Inn and Suites on Orangethorpe Avenue…
