Shabby but clean. Staff is great, especially the room cleaners! No continental breakfast, no jacuzzi.

This has got to be the most expensive "budget" hotel. Not worth it at all! My husband and I stayed last weekend for $250 for the night. For the money you would expect the basics — clean and tidy room, free water, breakfast perhaps? But nothing. The room is so run down. You can hear the neighbor cough through the wall (they are paper thin! ) and we were constantly woken up by the squeaky bed. The sheets were covered in bobbles, there was nothing in our mini fridge. And the only thing that seemed to be included was the basic coffee in reception. I think to charge this much they need to do a lot better than that! The pool needs a good clean and almost half the deck chairs were broken. The only good thing was the front of house girl was pleasant and it is a 10mins walk to the town. If you just need somewhere to rest your head this could be a good spot but for the price you would think they would at least clean the place up! ​

This is a charming historic hotel that sits a brisk walk from many shops and restaurants — — yet is also remote enough to be truly nestled in nature and very soothing and relaxing at night. Emily at the front desk is awesome, and the beds are comfortable and the rooms very… roomy. Not a bad option at all to explore beautiful and rustic Ojai.

Pretty nice hotel. The pool was completely freezing. They had renovation planned, but then the fire struck so they had to postpone that. The heater in the pool was off, so we had to walk about a block the street to another hotel that let people staying at the Capri Hotel use their well heated pool and towels. As of the rooms, they were pretty nice. The weird thing was that there was no phone or safe. They have a shower in the small bathroom, a microwave, soft comfortable beds, beautiful views. It needs a bit of work, but overall it's a good hotel.

Funky little motel, I bet it has a great history. Wish they would have had the lobby open earlier for coffee.

A perfect little spot on the east-end of Ojai with a dog. Easy check in & a clean room. Overall, a great place to spend the night.

Great value during a sold-out weekend — I brought my one year old up here for the weekend to go to the Lake Casitas Water Adventure and the town was pretty much booked. This hotel was one of the only places left so I was wary, however we loved it and had a great time there. Rooms were nice and well-done, yes sheets and pillows were a little scratchy but you're not paying Ritz prices so consider the value, free bottles of water and coffee in the lobby, super sweet front-desk ladies, nice pool with cabanas and kiddie pool even! It's located outside of the main downtown area so I wouldn't say it's walking distance but it's close enough and I was a little concerned about safety but it's across the street from the fire station and next to the ranger post. The a/c worked well which was important as it was in the 90s when we were there. Housekeeping was helpful, bringing me extra towels when my kids milk spilled. We were there for two nights and it was perfect for a super inexpensive weekend getaway. (Note, leave the A/C on. Walls are thin, after I turned it off I could hear our next door neighbors talking).

Not exactly their fault but "booking. Com" reservations did not show up. Had to take different type of room. Unfortunately, haven't had hot water yet in room. Actually using a different room for shower! Not cool… Checking out tomorrow and hoping to be compensated… Hmmmm…

Not there yet. This place apparently has new owners and they are currently renovating. We spent far, far too much money (busy Summer holiday) for a room with IKEA fixtures and furniture and half painted walls. I like IKEA, just not in a hotel room I guess. I'd say this place is ok but I wouldn't spend more than than hundred per night. For us, it was literally a place to lay our heads and shower but it failed on both accounts. Beds were unbelievably firm. Our backs killed us the next day. The shower curtain was missing the plastic backing so the water shot straight into the bathroom floor. Luckily there were plenty of towels so we could mop up. Management was nice and understanding but since we booked through HotelTonight, there was nothing to be done. I would avoid for a while until they are complete with their renovations in every room. Also, definitely don't book on HT. The app's customer service was quite unhelpful with the whole situation. We were offered a $25 credit. I deleted the app. No thanks. Sidenote: If you see a good rate on an app, call the hotel to try and book through them and save yourself a run around.

This quaint hotel really hits the spot. Was fortunate enough to spend several nights here in different rooms. Room 101 is probably my favorite which is close to the pool and ice machine. Room 216 is really great if you have kids and want your own quite space as two rooms are next to each other with your own TV and a great jacuzzi bath tub. Lime green color in the room makes you feel light and happy. Microwaves and refrigerators are in each of the rooms which comes in handy. Beds are very comfortable for a great night sleep. The on site manager Amanda is wonderful and very helpful as well as the other receptionist Kaitlyn and Cami. You can't go wrong with this special place on the east end of Ojai!

This is a little gem. Awesome pool and really nice staff. I'll definitely go back.

Hipster heaven! Run down motel at best. There is not vinyl or record players in room. No continental breakfast any of the mornings at the designated times as promised. Hard floors are so loud it woke the baby when I tip toed to the the bathroom.

I've visited the Capri Hotel on a number of occasions. Staff are welcoming, rooms are large and clean, and the fanced patio is HUGE! I enjoy Ojai and this hotel is convenient, just down the boulevard from downtown and close to a number of excellent restaurants.

The kids had a sleepover, so my husband and I decided to take an impromptu trip to Ojai. We booked our room through the Hotel Tonight app (a major discount compared to other third party travel apps), so perhaps that's the reason our room did not look as nice as the ones pictured on the Capri Hotel's website. We were a bit disappointed to see that we did not get a record player in our room as advertised on the app, but my biggest complaint, however, is with the less than sanitary toilet in our room's restroom. It was filthy, like something you'd expect to see at a gas station along a busy highway. I will spare you the details, out of respect for those with vivid imaginations, but it was bad. When all is said and done, for a last minute booking and single night stay at a reasonable price this place was okay. I don't think we will be returning, though. The beds and pillows in room 12 were uncomfortable, be warned.

Retro chic theme, the best part is the pool and intimate size. Basic furnishings, clean rooms, polite staff. Great for mini escapes and families.

Cute place. Decor was fun and the price was right. Bed wasnt the most comfortable and we could hear snoring in the next room.

We always love staying at the Capri. The rooms are very cool, the staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed.

At first glance the facility looks a little dated but remains vintage and cute. The pool is fenced and beautifully separated from the street view with modern and relaxing cabana type set up. There is a nice grass area to do yoga, meditate, walk your dog, or just enjoy staring at and appreciating the surrounding mountains. The rooms were very big with TONS of room to move about freely. Modern and relaxing interior design, clean, and equipped with food, drinks, snacks that do have extra fees. The entrance to room was wonderful with some music preset and playing upon entry. The bathroom was nice, the shower pulsed a little, and the curtain was stained, I believe from bleach, and also there was a ton of hair caught in the drain stopper which was not desirable at all. Good parking, cute multicolored lighting, and well located. I cannot give 5 stars because there are a few things that the Capri was missing. There is no shuttle or bar which would both be wonderful additions since the little town of Ojai closes EXTREMELY early and the lobby closes similarly at p. M. It is a very quiet town and ultimately not a destination we will ever return to. The Capri was beautiful, well priced with the special discounts, and a nice place, there is just nothing to make you want to go back to it because of the location itself. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The breakfast is really a snack stop (trail mix, bananas, apples).

Mostly enjoyed my stay. Staff knows stuff, a little hard to get it out of them with their local "you must be ignorant" attitude but other things mostly make up for it. Love the phonograph, records, movies, wine, not super clean but nice outdoor areas. Especially the patios! Hot tub & pool were not functional, would have been nice to tell me that BEFORE I booked it. Don't pay more than 100. You can hear people coughing in other rooms, & noisy. Some mold in shower, didn't bother cleaning my toilet, & blood on mattress pad but no real harm. They claim there is outdoor fire option to use but I never found it. Towels were musty/moldy — they don't know not to use fabric softener on them LOL :)

My wife and I enjoyed a a couple night get away in Ojai, CA this week. It is a quite little town just North of Ventura. We purchased a deal online for the Capri Hotel and had a GREAT stay! We were a little worried based off other reviews, but we found the Capri to be a hip little refurbished hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, light and colorful. Nice Bamboo wood floors. LCD TV on the wall. The pool area is nice. It isn't heated, but when it is 90+ outside it feels great to take a cool dip. The hot tub was nice. The staff was welcoming and helpful. This is not the Ritz, but if you are looking for a nice quiet place to relax and get away this is a great option!
