Normally stay at Super 8 but price was jacked up way to high… Checked Motels online and best price so came here to check them out… Price great, comfortable and very friendly service… Will be back…

I dont like the service they are short and rude if you can even understand them. Good for a place to go if you just want to check in and sleep I guess. Good location in town too.

Not an especially nice place because it is a little run down, but you'll be hard pressed to find better value if you just need a place to sleep. We slept great and found it to be pretty quiet. Also the desk attendant was very nice.

Room was fine. Gracious in checking me in late. But there is this beeping noise that has been going on all night that was driving me crazy.

I was staying at a hotel nearby but ended up sleeping in one of the rooms here after meeting a business man who probably had a wife. I chose to because he asked nicely if I wanted to spoon. I said sure, I was the big spoon, nothing else happened, but that's not really helpful in this review I guess. However the room was nice.

The staff was accommodating and the room itself was small but clean. The only place it really fell short was the bathroom and kitchenette area; the tile floor was disgusting and there were weird substances on the bathroom door. The tub/shower looked clean but the drain was clogged with hair. Overall a decent bargain for its proximity to the beach and points of interest, and the beds were clean and comfortable.

You get what you pay for. Customer service was sub par, room was cramped, bathroom pretty darn dirty. The only good thing is it's cheap, they take late check, and it's very close to the beach.

This was exactly what I expected. A cheap place to crash for the night on a road trip. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and made sure we were happy.

Great value! Friendly, and most importantly CLEAN! The rooms smelled nice and the sheets were clean, will definitely stay again!

My fault for not reading the list of amenities when I booked, but I haven't been in a hotel that didn't at least have a refrigerator and microwave… until now. Also no coffee in room. Basically a bed, a toilet, and a shower stall. Smelled like smoke. Lesson learned.

It was okay but not great. I would stay there again. Wifi didn't work when everyone was trying to use it but was good in the morning.

Nice little motel right on 101 in Crescent City. Rooms were clean, if a little small, but for what we paid for the room we weren't expecting anything huge. Mini fridge in room was a nice perk, as the hotel was super close to a Grocery Outlet and a Safeway. Also, it's just a few minute drive to any of the restaraunts back on 101. The next time I need a room in Crescent City, I will call the Front Street Inn to make a reservation. EDIT — I was most impressed by the friendliness of the staff, they were super nice and gave us a bunch of recommendations for things to do/see.

Entirely functional, just run down. Floorboards and trim etc need a good cleaning. I brought a blacklight flashlight and didn't find anything too bad.

It was very nice and cheap. The owner was super nice even when we got there at midnight.

This is not a high-end motel, but so worth the money! The staff was so friendly and attentive. My room had ocean view and I could hear the seals and sea lions all night!

A cooler full of ice, water, food, and drinks is super heavy to carry up a flight of narrow metal stairs. Homeless people were sleeping out back. Had to park in a shady garage. Wouldn't stay here again, I've stayed at better hotels for less money.

Loud streets, No AC. Bed was straight awful. Would stay again if I absolutely had too but I don't recommend it.

Simple and clean and inexpensive. If you want no frills this is the place. Nice large rooms. Comfortable beds. Pillows aren't bad either. Had an extra outlet to charge both our phones. Plenty of room to sprawl. This one has a coffee pot too (night before didnt at another hotel). Very pleasant staff. Family ran. Easy access with several diners nearby. Pretty quiet. Didn't hear anything thru the walls and we where on ground floor.

Way different than we expected for the price. I've also never had a motel charge extra for a 10 year old, but maybe that's normal. When I was younger we were very poor and often stayed in dilapidated sort of apartments and motels… this could have been one of them. I think they try to have a nice establishment but it's old and in need of remodel. The entire wall around the shower was cracked. There were several cracks in the wall by the beds. The toilet was loose and I felt like I needed to hover so I didn't break it… Baseboard heater? No air conditioning. Thin walls and single paned windows. We could hear a foghorn the whole day and night. I think I can still hear it, it haunts me. Foghorn isn't their fault, but it definitely added to the horror movie atmosphere. I really didn't feel safe there and there was no peephole on the door. There was a notice on the door telling me not to use the towels for anything other than showering and I'm still trying to figure out why they had to put that up. Anyway, can't say I'd recommend this place. Sorry.

Kind of shabby and old, without up grades. The wall sockets had no faces, just plugs. Also, the internet was so sporatic that I could check my email. But, the bed was comfortable and the heater worked. Good for overnight.

Good service, and with a view of the sea.

It's not a great hotel, but there were no issues with the room and it was pretty comfortable. It's really convenient to get to from 101.

This is the worst hotel I have been at. Dirt and other items found on the floor and baseboards. In some areas, the paint was peeling. Definitely in need of a major overhaul and upgrade. Not a great area either. Expensive for how tiny and run down this place was. My advice is to not believe the inflated reviews and stay someplace else.

I am giving the Front Street Inn two stars ONLY because the couple that owns it are very friendly. However, Crescent city and particularly the area where the inn is located are not great areas. The hotel needs some serious work — painting, updating, no breakfast (we knew about this but after seeing the hotel, the price we paid was outrageous without a breakfast. ), limited parking, new sheets and more comfortable bedding and pillows. A light surface clean was done but our room needed a seriously deep clean. No one wanted to take a shower and my kids were actually celebrating when we left because they had felt unsafe. We have stayed at numerous two star hotels and this one was the worst we have ever stayed at. My kids and husband think I am being generous to give it two stars but the couple at the desk were very kind.

Just needed a place to crash in Crescent City. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Nothing stellar, but great value.

The staff were friendly and helpful but the rooms could use some updating. Also the Wi-Fi hardware cannot support many devices so it was overloaded and spotty all evening.

It was cheap had a kitchen plenty of space and easy to book. It's the best on the beach cheap hotel one could ask for. No complaints quiet and staff was very nice.

The BEST place to stay in Crescent City, CA. PERFECT location right by the ocean! Friendly staff. Yes, it's an older facility and I wish they had a flat screen TV. But you can't beat the value for the money.

The parking garage smelled like the dumpster. Gross! The thermostat didnt work so our windows had to stay open the whole 3 days. The room wasn't updated like the others and had dirty base boards and deep scratches on bathroom door. I think it was the room they reserved for dog families and we had our dog with us. Only a $10 pet deposit though. So that was good. And right outside the door was the smoking section for the whole hotel. The housekeeping/owners were really nice. Kept up on towels and beds. Not sure it was worth the $200 we spent tho.

There were no more queen rooms left when we arrived, but the (super nice) receptionist gave us a king suite for the same price. Full kitchen stocked with cooking pot and styrofoam plates. Living room area with a futon that an extra person could sleep on. Huge, comfy bed with nice sheets. Nice bathroom. Parking garage included in price. A very pleasant surprise. Super cheap, would DEFINITELY stay here again. Worth the money, even if we'd paid full price.

We stopped in here on a family road trip. The accommodations were OK, and everything was clean, which is all that I can ask from a hotel such as this. Where they truly shone was with their service — this hotel is owned by a couple, who are super friendly, and went out of their way to help us out. We had a package shipped to this address, but due to FedEx delays, we left before it arrived — they were kind enough to forward it onto our next destination. I wasn't sure I would ever see the package again, but we got it, and we really appreciated the help.

Loved it. They are very accommodating. We arrived a day early and even though the room we had reservations for was unavailable, they gave us a different room for the same price. The people are really nice. The price is great. Rooms are super clean. The room we stayed with a kitchenette was huge. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the beds are a little soft. I would for sure stay again.

Family owned and operated, clean rooms, great location, pet friendly, and free Wi-Fi. They are literally a 60 second walk to the beach and county park. Very sweet receptionist and staff. The shower and bathroom were immaculate and huge! Also, their king size bed had very high quality linens. Our room (#25) had a mini refrigerator and microwave. For $49.99, it is a great deal! The only complaint would be is that we were right next to the soda machine and could hear people throughout the evening because the walls are apparently thin. Besides that, a very wonderful hotel experience.

Fresh paint, clean smell. Everything was spotless. Not a fancy room but comfortable with everything you'd need. I recommend for a lower priced room. I will be back.

Most Hotels here in Crescent City are more Motel like than Hotels. We stayed here this past weekend and our stay went very smoothly. The room was clean, the location was easy to find, and the staff was very kind and curtiouse! Easy to book, check in and check out. You cant expect much when you pay $63 for Ocean Front. I was a little concern when booking because well you get what you pay for! But If you're just looking for a place to lay your head after a long day in the Redwood Forest this is the place to go. We drove past the other Hotels in this area I had looked up online. The "nicer" chain hotels and honestly I would say save yourself $40 and stay here. Across the street is a park and beach! our room had view to the beach and it was nice! The room also had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker which most hotels don't provide! Quiet place! Would stay here again anyday.

Remember, the ownership of this Inn has changed recently and old reviews (particularly for Front Inn staff) may not be precised anymore. Location: Front Street Inn is conveniently located along side of coast highway 101. However it also brings with the price. Noisy from traffic and some people walk around street at night (can be reviewed as unsafe). Rooms: smaller size and slightly out-updated. So I could say it is slightly below average but not too bad with the price I paid (about $57 including tax). Cleanness: Not that clean for average two star rating hotels but good clean condition for average hotels in that area. Bedding and bathroom seem to be clean: however floor does look old and contains a bit of odor (being old). Parking lot: Front Street Inn provides enough private parking spaces without charge (well almost all hotels in Crescent City does not charge parking). Staff: They are very friendly and they own this place. Recently took over the ownership and try to make it better for guests who stay in their facility. I found the welcoming experience from them (asking for local places they like, you will get good tips) Breakfast: They do not provide any kind of breakfast meals. Only in-house coffee will be available (not sure how old though) Cable and Wi-Fi: Wi-fi is spotty when I used. So I am not sure it is good or not by trying one night, but they do provide free Wi-Fi though. Cable TV is basic but this is expected.
