Recently remodeled rooms. SUPER close to beach. Walked across quiet residential street. Two minutes to beach. It was quiet, quaint and friendly. Felt very hospitable.

Great little privately owned motel just steps from the beach.
Pros:
Ridiculously large rooms with linoleum floors.
Plenty of beach gear for hotel guests to borrow including chairs, umbrellas, toys and boogie boards
Rooftop “lounge” bring your own drinks!
Walking distance to great restaurants.
Quiet beach! Cons:
Limited parking.
Linoleum floors means sound travels.
Outside shower didn’t work.

Its a great place to stay perfect location and the staff goes above and beyond. We have stayed here twice and will never stay anywhere else. Can't wait to go back… this is now are go to place… I can't say enough good things about this place it is excellent and a great price…

Staff was very friendly, room was fresh and clean. Wouldn’t recommend paying the extra money for a balcony (you can’t see the ocean) other then that I would highly recommend this hotel! Ocean in walking distance ❤️

Great views & love my room the way it's designed or made up, the lady that was working the front desk was very nice & made me feel welcomed. This is now 1 of my favorite hotels now that I want to come back next weekend or so. :)

The staff is very nice. Rooms are very clean and bed is super comfy. Walls are pretty thin so you can here your neighbors TV so if you stay here, be mindful of your neighbors.

Short walk to beach… rooms are basic but clean… bed is comfortable. Nice ocean view from balcony.

Well besides the great location and view the staff was awesome. Starting with the manager Anna that goes a out of her way to make sure your stay is tge best it can be. The maid staff is one of the friendliest bunch of ladies ive ever met. I would definitely come back again.

The beach is right at your footsteps! This beach is amazing, not crowded, like a private beach! This hotel perfect location. This is not my first time at this hotel and it will not be the last! And the price Wow! These kids left there clothes thank God for the washer and dryer. The staff very friendly and so helpful.

Poor communication with management over a complaint of very dirty laundry, the fire alarm set off by drunken guests on two consecutive nights and lack of breakfast.

Love the quiet front view to the ocean, relaxing after long week work. Definitely will come back! The Rucker’s.

I have to say when we first arrived to the hotel I was very sceptical because it did look like an older Hotel and I made sure I read all the reviews. We checked in with Ana and she was nothing but friendly since our first encounter with her. On our way to our room we stopped by the roof top area cause we were excited to see the view. It wasnt what it looked like in the pics (but what hotel is) but I still was pleasantly surprised at how clean it was for being an older building. The beds were comfy, the room was cozy and the location was AMAZING. Only steps away from the beach and restaurants. Overall great experience and Ana was just a pleasure. She ran that place on her own and let me tell you for being a one woman show, she was very attentive and friendly. I would rent here again! Thank you Ana for making our mini vacation Awesome!

Good value for a hotel right on the beach. Was slightly disappointed in the room as this one didn't have a balcony and the shower was tiny compared to our previous visit. Our room was also above a door that continuously slammed closed. The lights on the outdoor deck weren't working. All in all, our stay was just ok.

Perfect beach just a few steps away! Older building but the rooms are updated and clean and fresh feeling! I suggest seeing if they have a partial ocean view room available. There is one row of homes between you and the beach but that's why it is partial but quite nice view. The breeze is wonderful and so is the staff.

Don't believe reviews or pictures. Conditions were the worst I have EVER stayed in. You are paying for the wonderful location — steps away from the beach. The building is in a horrible state — stucco cracking, wood rotting, the room — other than the bathroom (looks newly renovated) is dirty to put it nicely. The floors are damp and disgusting — you won't want to walk around without flip flops, lamp fixtures are rusting, we left sealed food on table and came back 30 minutes later and there were ants everywhere. Based on the sight of room, we didn't feel comfortable sleeping on bedding. The towels in bathroom were stained and frayed. In the end, pretend you are camping on the beach but with a shower. Bring your own bedding and towels and toiletries.

When my family and I arrived we were met by an amazing staff. Very accommodating. We then got ready to go to the ocean, it was less than a 3 minute walk form the hotel. When were finished the hotel has an outdoor shower to wash off in, before walking to the fantastic local restaurant. Around sunset we walked up to the rooftop sitting area and watched the sunset over the ocean. We will defiantly be back.

An excellent value. Spacious room, very clean, modernized, bed is very comfy, has A/C, quiet, attentive staff, safe in room, linens are very clean. Safe area, about a block from the ocean. Some rooms have a view, but are more expensive. Place is smoke-free. Highly recommend it.

Decent is the word. You're paying for proximity to the beach but that's about it. It made for a comfortable few nights but for the price I could have done better inland.

I really enjoyed my stay. A older style hotel with rooftop view and that it's not as crowed as other beaches. I like the fact that Sunset Beach has remained the same.

Cannot say enough great thing about this hotel! Located almost literally on the beach and the staff make you feel SO at home! We didn't want to go home! If we are ever in the area again this will 100% be our go to place to stay!

Don't waste your money here, unless you don't mind a rundown hotel with toilets that clog, shower curtains that continuesly fall down, mystery stains everywhere on the carpet, and staff that are more concerned with socializing then actually doing their job. You're better off staying at the Travel Lodge down the road. Very disappointing.

Great place to stay if you want a Beach hotel but don't want to pay the price for right on the beach. Your just across the street and a 100 steps away. Some third floor rooms have an ocean view. A great find!

Love staying here. New Management since I have been here last. Still a great experience. Amazing location close to the ocean filled with a lot of locals. Could use some detail cleaning (hair dryers and refrigerator) but other than that it’s great.

One of my favorite places on earth! Nothin extravagant. But wonderful location for an amazing price! Huntington beach is just down the street. But I personally like sunset beach (a 60 second walk) better than Huntington beach. Less people and more shells. I plan to visit as many times as I can in my lifetime. Ocean Surf Inn & Suites is great! Very special too me! Sorry, no pics on this phone.

Across a quiet street with a parklike walking path down the middle from the beach. Under building parking is tight but street has parking if needed. A few places real close to the north to eat.

Love this hotel. It's super quiet and very quaint. The place is clean and about a 3 minute walk to the beach. The staff is super pleasent and friendly.

This was our second family trip to this location and we loved it again! It was our son's birthday and Ana sure made it special for him. She brought him a gift and it was so sweet and he loved it! She was able to get us another night stay last minute. The view was beautiful! Great price and great customer service. Eating locations in walking distance. The beach is steps away. Just beautiful. Definitely will be back again. Happy customer!

This is my favorite Beach place to visit even though I live very close in Huntington Beach your Ocean Surf Inn is right across from the Beach! Our room had a beautiful view of the ocean and the sunset from your rooftop patio is a beautiful view! I will continue to stay here off and on! Anna and all your help makes for a very pleasant stay! My sister and I enjoyed our current stay and will be back again soon.

This was a little bit older but everything seemed pretty clean. Nice location and friendly staff. They have beach chairs and boards games for guests. Good for families, surfers or anyone looking for a good budget-friendly find. Not for someone looking for a luxury experience. Beach is walking distance… It's actually on the other side of the parking lot. Great food within walking distance too.

Nicely renovated. Good price for having somewhat of an ocean view. Nice recwptionistnamed Ana and the gm was going to give me a ride from the sold out best western down the street.

Nice staff. Ocean view available — slightly blocked by houses on the other side of the street. Safe area. Breakfast no longer available, which changed after we booked w/o notice. Decent restaurants within walking distance. Easy beach access, just across small street behind hotel and past row of houses on the other side. Life guards were at the beach while we were there. Sand toys (most broken) and boogie boards available from hotel for free. Beds are getting older, my mattress sunk toward the outer edge and was not very comfortable. Interior of hotel is older, but seemed generally clean. Shampoo, etc. /towels not replaced, but probably because the staff tried to let us into the room early (not at our request, but in a spontaneous effort to provide better service) and had rushed to finish prepping the room. Parking garage below hotel, easy access to hotel.

Good location. Large clean rooms. Could be noisy at night for rooms facing the highway. Good access to the beach. The Inn provides towels, beach chairs and beach toys for kids. No restaurant on site.

This is one of the best place I have ever stayed at. Ana was absolutely amazing! They go above and beyond to make their guest feel special. I felt like the staff were friends and I enjoyed seeing them when I left my room. Anything we asked for the helped us with a friendly smile. I will definitely be coming back.

One of the best hotel experiences ever. Now add one block to the ocean and affordable. I almost hesitate to post this as this may be the best kept secret on the PCH in the Huntington/Seal Beach area. Very friendly and professional staff. Has a bed and breakfast feel, highly recommend.

This was our first time staying here. Ana checked us in and basically made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. The entire staff was very accommodating and friendly. There are bars and restaurants within walking distance and you can walk right across the back street to the beach. They have boogie boards and chairs you can use for free if you need them. Some rooms had beach views and balconies. Our room did not, we didn't request it because it didn't matter to us. The room was clean, smelled great and had a fridge and microwave. There is a second floor patio and a roof patio with chairs and tables where you can see the ocean. There was fresh coffee early every morning. There is a washer and dryer for guests to use also. We really loved it here and will definitely stay here again.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Its an older hotel but you would never notice by the service and convenience to popular locations. Right on the PCH. Our go to spot every time. Debbie is amazing. Rooms are always on point and the beds are so comfortable, not to mention the location… location, location. Steps from a secluded beach and an amazing Italian food restaurant. The perfect getaway.

Clean and quiet room, parking was easy to find, and steps from a really good beach. Staff was friendly and there were some nice amenities such as free coffee and hot cocoa, Beach toys and chairs free to take to the beach, roof top deck, free parking, and shower for guest to rinse off before going up to their room. Will definitely return.

The hotel room was wonderful. We had two queens, which were very clean. The hotel as a whole was very small but nice and welcoming. The staff was extremely nice and suggested great places to eat and visit.

My boyfriend and I wanted to take a spontaneous trip and I booked this hotel the day of our trip! I was pleasantly surprised with the hospitality, the location steps away from the beach, and the overall comfortability. The rooms were very nice for the price and they had useful amenities such as a larger refrigerator and even books and beach toys to borrow. The roof top area was beautiful and had a view of the beach. It was one of the best trips I've had and it was the perfect little place, no hassle. (:

This is a wonderful place to stay! Very clean… comfortable beds and pillows. Walk right to the beach! Walking distance to eateries. And the price is great! Will stay here anytime I'm looking to stay at the beach!

Love this place. Stay every time. Shame they had to stop the b, fast but still. Lovely clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly courteous staff beach toys for the kids and you can throw a stone to the beach. Nice, brings the stress level down to almost zero.

We had an absolute wonderful time and our room was perfect! Clean and updated. Loved hearing the waves from our balcony and the view was just beautiful and only a few steps to the beach! From the moment we entered we were greeted with a smile and taken such good care of, also a friendly wave and smile when coming in and out of the room. Thanks Reggie! Always made sure we had what we needed. We definitely will be back for a getaway! :)

It was a very nice hotel. The rooms on the Pacific Coast are noisy. Minimum Service for the Little breakfast. But correct anyway especially if the weather allows to take it on the roof terrace.

This place is awesome. Super friendly staff, relaxed unique setting. From beacnitems you may borrow for day use, to quaint rooftop lounge area, ocean view, steps from the beach, your cannot get a better deal. Rooms are well kept, modernly decorated etc. This is definitely a hidden gem I'd never heard of and will come back and stay more often!

Rooms are large and clean. Enjoyed that the hotel supplied free parking, rooms are large and comfortable. Hotel is located near the beach west of Pacific Coast Highway making beach access easy.

Wonderful place to stay. The hospitality from the staff at Ocean Surf Inn is spectacular. My family and I have stayed at this hotel while visiting the area for the second year and we definitely plan to return. Family friendly and clean.

Man these guys well work with you and they are so helpful and the rooms and beds are crazy comfy and clean I loved our stay.

We have stayed at this hotel more than a couple times. We absolutely love the location and the price. The owners and clerk have always provided great services. There is a nice breakfast spread, clean rooms, and a fun deck to relax. The hotel is just a small walk to the beach and a selection of restaurants. We will be planning another vacation at this hotel in the near future.

This hotel is GREAT! So close to the beach, less than a five-minute walk. Our room was on the back side and we could see the ocean from the balcony! The beach is actually Sunset, not Huntington, but we liked that because it was small and not crowded. The hotel provides boogie boards, sand towels, beach towels and beach chairs for your use at the beach. They also have a bunch of board games you can use in your room. Breakfast was small but it hit the spot — — they even have this pancake machine that pops them out on a conveyor belt. It was crazy and awesome. Our room was clean and the bed was really comfortable, too. They recently updated the hotel and it's pretty obvious because the decor, countertops, etc are all very current and modern. I loved it. I worried this hotel might not be kid-friendly but I couldn't have been more mistaken! Debbie, the gal at the front desk, was so nice and greeted my kids and I with a warm hello every time she saw us. There were a lot of young families staying there as well, but I never heard any noise. It was quiet all night. I highly recommend this hotel! Free parking, free breakfast, walking distance from the beach, modern updates, comfy beds, quiet at night … what more could you want?!

We needed somewhere within a reasonable distance to the Anaheim Convention Center (30 min) but on the water. I found Ocean Surf Inn & Suites because it was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. Couldn't be happier, sure there are probably nicer hotels with better breakfasts but the place was extremely clean, friendly staff and a pretty nice location ($5 Uber rides to a couple of different beaches). Speaking of beaches, sunset beach definitely isn't the ideal place for kids. The water gets deep fast and the waves are pretty intense. I wouldn't let my kids go out more than 10 — 15 feet, that's how rough it was. Back to the hotel (great 90's song by the way), they have a nice courtyard and a balcony above the 3rd floor where you can see the beach and they have some really nice outdoor furniture on. Another thing I really liked was how, rather than throwing away everything that people had forgotten, they allowed guests to use them. They had a collection of board games, beach chairs, towels, blankets, etc. For guests to use, free of charge. They obviously cleaned them and threw away the bad stuff but we were able to use a boogie board at no cost. Lastly, there are quite a few Groupon rentals around the hotel. We ended up renting 4 paddle boards for 2 hours at only $80 total, about 2 blocks down the street. I'd definitely recommend it.

Great place to stay! Newly renovated, great location, super friendly onsite owner, sun deck, cool little patio area, clean rooms and comfortable beds. This hotel is very charming and quaint with a European feel. I cannot say one bad thing about this hotel and I recommend staying there.

Great spot. Stay 3 nights n was worth it. Had excellent service clerk was awesome. Breakfast hit the spot too. Also an amazing pancake maker machine that pop cakes out from a conveyor belt. Easily worth the money just to see this thing operate. Only bad thing was the ice machine was broken. Other than that, all was good.

Friendly staff free Wi-Fi and parking, rooms good just renovated if a little unfinished in detail, but overall good! Might want to ask for a room away from the main road.

I love this place! it's clean, updated, the owners are very friendly and helpful. Going back this weekend and again in March! we always start here. We love it! Oooohhhh and the beds are super comfy too! the beach is so close and they have great prices.

Rooms were kind of dingy, but it was a great rate. We even got an extra bed at no additional cost!?! And breakfast delivered to our room :) We appreciated that it was so close to the beach to go for a morning stroll. Recommend for a good stop off the highway and a place to sleep near the beach.

The photo is not like the hotel. It is painted in very bright colors like orange bright green. The walls in the hotel are just as bright like dirty white, orange and dark green. The bright colors of the room and hall can cause you to have a problem sleeping. The room as soooo bad. The shower has corrosion on the shower curtain rod but because the room is so small you can take a nice hot shower and steam after. The walls have no decorations. They do have very thin towels one has a hole in it for men to use. The bed is like sleeping on the floor with a sheet. The air condition has two speeds and is very loud, hope you are very tired so you can sleep. The ad is correct they are 100 feet or so from the beach but unless you are on the top floor you will not be able to see the beach. My wife and I will not ever go near that place again and hope that a couple that are wanting a nice get away to get reconnected they will not go there. It is a way to cause more problems not solve them. Find another place and save you time and problems.

Please dont, take your family elsewhere. Avoid! spiders on your kids beds! I recently booked a one nighter for my family, what a wrong move don't believe any thing positive about this place. I was skeptical after I booked the room because I didn't read the reviews until after the room had been booked. I didnt see but one dead cacaroach in the hallway but there was a spider in my kids beds it was even brown in color. Im not being a jerk or nothing I tried to cancel prior to stay but I waited too long there policy will charge you if you dont cancel 3 days prior to stay there was more positive reviews then negative but I guess if your just interested in an ocean view and dont care about the room go 4 it. I itched and scratched 4 days I felt like I had fleas and lice for days please go elsewhere.
