We give them a 10! Absolutely loved the location, our room and the staff goes above and beyond to serve you, so friendly! We brought our 2 grandkids age 9 and 10 and we all loved the courtyard, the games, foosball and ping pong table and free s’mores at night! Our room was big and spotless, we enjoyed the record player in our room and the plenty of albums to choose from. This hotel offers free bikes, beach chairs, toys, towels, sunblock and boogie boards. Free Happy Hour drinks 5-6. If you want a fabulous beach experience then stay here!

LOVE this hotel! Stumbled upon it passing through and stayed 5 nights! Super friendly and helpful staff, especially Omar and Cooper! We had our labradoodle with us and the hotel is very pet friendly and close to the dog beach. Loved all the amenities! The food and service in the Pacific Hideaway restaurant was excellent. S’mores by the fire pits in the courtyard was such a sweet treat in the evenings. Would love to visit in the summer! Highly recommend a stay here!

Huge room and bathroom with a soaking tub. Loved the fire pits in the courtyard where we made s'mores and the ocean view from our walk out balcony. We will definitely be back in the summer.

Family loved this hotel. Surfer, Beach Bar Vibe but modern not tacky. Borrow records, bikes, play free games, they have everything BUT a pool. Very clean, updated rooms, service was stellar.

The Kimpton Shorebreak Resort has it all and is the epitome of the vibe of downtown HB. From the retro record players to the chic decor it feels like home when you walk into the door. The staff is always the most friendly and they are genuinely themselves in every way. The management cares about the property and the staff and it shows. If you want a weekend getaway in the heart of HB then this is the place to be. Oh don’t forget to get a funky and delish cocktail from the best bartenders around.

I was extremely disappointed is this stay. We reserved with Omar who from our last stay was so helpful and accommodating. However when we checked in it was a very different experience. Sutton checked us in and was very rude from the very beginning and her attitude never changed. Upon check in she was uninformed of the daily resort fee’s and how to explain them. I told her we reserved with Omar and how much our fee’s were she said that was not the total amount and Omar reserved it wrong. She then said Omar was off that day so there was nothing she could do. She then asked if we knew Omar?!? And do we want the room or not? I then asked for someone else and the woman that came out explained the fee’s correctly which is what I thought they were and Sutton didn’t acknowledge nor apologize for stating incorrect information. The woman then left and Sutton continued to check us in. I told her I needed three keys. She said no. I explained I needed a key for my daughter and me and one for my partner. She then made a face. I said do I need to speak to someone else again. She then said fine and gave me the keys. We requested room service as well. Which we did not get. We only had room service one day which is the day we went down and Omar was there and said he would send someone up. I paid for an upgraded room, with room service. We have been putting our towels and dirty robes in the hall for pickup. Have not been replenished once except for when we talked to Omar.

Such great costumer service with the most thoughtful touches and employees. Only been here a few hours, but loving every minute of it. The views, the s’mores and happy hour are just a few things that make this place the best. We even got a personal note with chips and DIY margs sent to our room, compliments of the front desk!

This property is my new favorite Kimpton… front desk staff is welcoming and full of useful information. Bartender, Justine… best bartender ever. The atmosphere, with the Pacific ocean views, chill vibe, beautiful rooms with a turn table to listen to Bob Marley in my room… went from work stress to holiday mode in an instant. No need to leave the property with a dinner menu (try the bass) that beats any other restaurant near by and fire pits to hang out by in the court yard after dinner. I can't wait to return.

Great staff and service, oceanfront views, right in the middle of the HB. We have used it the last 15 years on New Years and my Birthday in August. We love it! but, truthfully our "kids" are welcome. Our dogs being welcomed is important to us and Shorebreak is a mile from Dog Beach!

Within walking distance to everything. Watch the sunset over Catalina, from your balcony! Amenities are awesome, bikes, surf boards, stand up paddle board. Staff very friendly, and helpful.

I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Super friendly, pet friendly. My favorite amenities were the games onsite — ping pong, corn hole, and chess on the patio.
With the time change I couldn’t sleep passed 4am my first night and the front desk concierge made coffee for me and helped me choose what to do that day — that was above and beyond.
Free happy hour is 5-6pm and is so much fun with all the games provided.
The record player in our room was SUCH a cool touch. We got to check out up to 3 records at s time and listen to music in our room.
The on-site restaurant was great and the location to main street and the beach could not have been better.
They provide your beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, umbrellas AND free bike rentals.
We will be back and bring our kids next time!

We stayed as part of our honeymoon and the team treated us to wine and chocolate strawberries, such a great surprise! Free and wine and beer at happy hour, bicycles, and morning coffee — awesome! I spoke to a gentleman named Cory who gave me a good quote for the night but I decided to speak to corporate and see if they would be able provide me a better deal. Unfortunately, Cory was right he did in fact provide me the best deal so needless to say I called back to make the reservation with him. Instead the person who answers the phone name is Leo and asked me what I was looking for so I gave home the story and his reply was so what do you want to do book this for not. I asked what the price was and seemed bothered to have to provide me another price. Leo then provides me a ridiculous price and I asked him for the original price that Cory provided me. Leo gets immediately frustrated and tells me I have given you the best price so if you do not want to book with us then I do not have time for this I am going to transfer you back to reservations. Before I could get the words out to say hold on I was transferred and placed on hold for an extended period of time and when I contacted the manager Miss Roxanne states “Mr. Leo is standing here next to me and I do not know why he would do that I think it is more like a miscommunication. ” So even when I report a rude employee who needs to be counseled on his customer service she instead provides an immediate excuse. Do not book with this hotel there is better hotels with much better customer service and they provide better discounts for military service members! This is how they treat there Veterans so beware!

We love this hotel. We stay there frequently with our son and dog. They are completely dog friendly… including dog beds and room service for dogs. It is about a mile from Dog Beach. They have great family amenities including foosball, ping pong, and s’mores every night. The wine hour it great. They have bikes abs boogy boards for guests to use. The staff are helpful and friendly. It’s our favorite beach hotel.

This is by far the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The decor is contemporary & beautiful both in the lobby and the room. Free bike and beach chair rentals. Delicious free cold brew coffee available, free s’mores at night, free wine happy hour, & free lawn games! And to top it all off the every single employee was so kind and accommodating! Location was perfect, so close to the beach & the pier. I will absolutely be coming back.

Very convenient to the beach and other local restaurants and businesses. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and housekeeping was very efficient. Only real negative was that snacks and drinks limited to a small mini bar in the room. No vending machines in the hotel. Overall a very good experience.

This hotel made the trip perfect. Everything you could want or need. Across street from beach but if you have ocean front room great views. Within walking distance of about anything. Workout room was great. If you need something they have it.

We’ve stayed here twice now and will absolutely be back. We love everything about this hotel. The hotel staff is friendly and welcoming. We've stayed here 3 times now and will be back. I've seen some comments about price and yes, it is pricey, but it's the only hotel right in the heart of downtown Huntington Beach. We stay here, not just for what's inside the hotel, but what's around the hotel. Shops, restaurants, the pier and the Tuesday sidewalk sales and street fair are always a highlight. Our kids love hanging out in the lobby playing ping ping, baggo or fussball. They have free beach equipment rental (chairs, towels, toys, umbrellas, boogie boards), free bike rentals as well as free coffee every morning, free wine every evening and other beverages throughout the day. We always feel completely at home at the Kimpton Shorebreak. Can't wait til next time!

Stayed here over Memorial weekend. Had a very bad experience at this hotel. First off the rooms are small, the bathroom was dirty and the bed was the size to fit one person. There were two of us staying in the room so we did not get any sleep for two nights. The bedding had sand all over the sheets which tells me housekeeping never changed it. We asked that housekeeping come in and change the sheets. What did they do? They just made the bed so we had to ask again and this time actually stood there and watched them do it. We complained to the management to move us into another room but apparently they were sold out and couldn't even though we talked to them before check in the next day. Second problem is they charge 35 bucks a night to valet plus tipping. We paid 70 for two nights. So if you want to go out during the day you have to keep asking valet to get your car and feel obligated to keep tipping. Ridiculous. This hotel is overpriced as it is, why contract out a valet company to rip people off staying here. The only other option is to pay 40 bucks a night for parking without valet. Stupid. Third issue is that there is nowhere to take pets to walk and use the potty. Plus to get to the ground level floor you have to take two separate elevators. Fourth… This place is full of very loud young millennials. If your in your 40s like I am. You will be annoyed beyond belief. Would never stay here again or recommend it.

It's been amazing. We brought our dog to the beach for the first time and this hotel has been so accommodating and dog friendly. We have loved the way they have treated us and our dog.

I've been coming here for almost 2 years now because of a friend who comes out from Australia almost 2x a year for business. The service here is amazingly exceptional, the staff is of excellent quality and know how to service all especially their regulars. The front desk staff who consist of Leo, Matthew, Chandra and Cody are very warm, approachable and extraordinarily welcoming. Even though I'm a local I love staying here and receiving the most adequate hospitality ever. Dave Dickso and I thank you so much for your continued kindess and genuine attitude. Hope to see you sooner than later.

We had a wonderful and relaxing 4-day break here. Cameron at the reception desk is very welcoming. Fatima from housekeeping made sure we had good sleep each night. The pillows and beds are clean and comfortable. They serve free wine for an hour at the main lobby and have smores in the afternoons too. The free use of bikes and the fresh cold water with lemon and strawberries by the stairs are a plus. We keep our windows and the door to the patio open to let the cool breeze from nearby Huntington Beach inside the bedroom. There are shops and lots of very good restaurants nearby. We very much enjoyed our stay here.

Rooms are spacious, air conditioned, beautiful bathroom with walk in shower. Big TV, big bed. Great. Staff are very friendly and always go the extra mile, Cameron met me at reception and provided hands down the best customer service I've had. Venu wise, they lend out beach stuff, boards, bikes, buckets, spades, etc. They have free snores to cook in their fire pits, they have green wine hour and many other great little touches. This place is very close to the beach (and the pier) it's on a road parallel to main street, so in an awesome location. If I was going to criticize anything it would be that you need to request brew kit for your room, I'd have preferred it to already be there. There is a paid for mini bar and selection of chocolates and sweeties in the room, but these are a little pricey. There's a 7-eleven down the road to satiate even the sweetest tooth for a fraction of the price. All in all a very good experience and I will be returning.

I heard that Kimpton Hotels were an amazing company to work for, so I decided to check the place out. I didn't stay overnight, so I can't comment on the rooms. The lobby and restaurant though were very nice. It was modern but also had a great beach vibe. The employees seem very happy working there, so I know it must be a great company. I ate a breakfast burrito at the bar, while speaking with the bartender there. The food was delicious and the service was great. Even if I don't end up getting a job here, I would love to come back again.

Great hotel. Wonderful location. Nice rooms. Friendly staff. Like most Kimptons! Restaurant inside is good. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby as well. There is a beautiful courtyard in the middle of the hotel. Lots of patio furniture, fire pit, heat lamps for winter, super sized chess board, and other patio games. And the dog beach is about a mile away. Definitely coming back here soon.

I had a great stay at the Kimpton Shorebreak. The rooms are large and the beds are comfortable. There are a lot of great perks (free wine hour and smores). The location is perfect, right across the street from the beach. My only complaint is that they do not have two queen beds in her rooms so the beds can feel a little cramped.

Love kimpton hotels. They're dog friendly, and have free wine in the evenings for hotel guests. This one is right by the Beach. I live in Huntington Beach, but had my wedding reception and wedding night here. The bar and lobby area are set up for a really good time (fancy a game of drunken 3 foot tall chess, anyone? ). Right next to the beach with tons of rooms with beach and pier views. If you're visiting from out of town, this is right in the middle of everything, and it can't be beat.

This place was amazing. The location is right off the beach and the view is amazing. The restaurant has got to be the best fusion of Pacific cuisine I've ever had. And the staff is simple awesome. They are so friendly and inviting. Even received a text from the concierge just to make sure the room was good. I would definitely come back.

I was in Huntington Beach for a wedding and decided to stay at the Kimpton. It is a perfect hotel for a couple's retreat. Right on the beachfront, they have so many items that they will loan to you for no additional charge. Service is friendly and thorough. I would highly recommend it!

Everything about this hotel is unreal… from the decor to how friendly the staff was. The location is incredible and the rooms are fantastic. The bar and the restaurant are great too! They have awesome fire pits and even do a wine happy hour! I loved this place so much that I never wanted to leave.

Hotel is located across the street from the beach. Room with a queen is very roomy, as is the bathroom with a full sized tub and shower. Easy parking with the valet or garage downstairs. Hotel is also pet friendly and walking distance to the dog beach.

The Shorebreak Hotel is fantastic! Better than I expected! Everything is so clean, staff is super friendly, great location right by the beach. They made our evenings special with strawberries and champagne, Smores in the courtyard, the amazing beach view from our room. They have everything you need for a day at the beach! We will be returning!

We are currently staying in the Shorebreak's wraparound 2-bedroom suite, and it's amazing. Like with every Kimpton hotel, customer service is great. There's complementary coffee and tea in the mornings, as well as wine hour from 5-6. There's also an attached bar and restaurant, as well as plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. Plus, it's literally across the street from the beach. What's not to love?

The staff is amazing and very accommodating. Great place for families, including pets. The wine hour from 5-6 is fun. One of my favorite places to stay in California. I'll definitely be back. :)

Last place we stayed at during our LA visit. Only wished we were here longer. Awesome boutique hotel. Front desk was overwhelmed and understaffed. But great amenities. Fitness facility amazing and clean. Walking distance to the beach and everything else Huntington night life has to offer! Room was small but pretty cool. Will check this place out again on my next visit to LA!

Very nice, modern styled house with large rooms and great baths. There is a bicycle rental, rental of beach utensils, a big chess, ping pong, a nice lobby and a very nice restaurant with a terrace…
The staff is super friendly and Helpful.
I have here in three weeks USA the first breakfast with fresh! Eaten scrambled eggs, fresh bacon and potatoes on porcelain with the right cutlery. Very delicious… and a real pleasure.
And now another addition: the restaurant is Excellent. Kitchen with Mexican impact, but very delicious. Can only be recommended and is also a pleasure for spoiled europeans.

We paid around $300.00 dollars a night for one King bed with ocean view which ended up not really worth because of all the noise/traffic from the 1North highway which is right in front of this hotel. Also we felt that the $25 a day resort fee along with $35 a night for Valet parking was outrages when your already paying 300.00 plus a night and then you don’t even get free Wi-Fi or a Continental breakfast. They due offer coffee and tea in morning but my wife said the coffee was horrible so I had to go out every morning to get her a good cup of java. The water pressure coming from the shower heads was very low, even after they changed the shower head. We ate breakfast one time in the hotel because it was comped and that was enough for us, just bad. One night when we returned to the hotel we decided to stop in bar for a few cocktails, I ordered a beer and my wife wanted a strawberry daiquiri, the bar tender tells us they don’t blender but he will do his best to mixed the drink, good grief at their prices can’t they buy a blender. On another night, at around 2 a. M. Their fire alarms went off, which thankfully was a false alarm, but talk about getting your heart jolted and we never did fall back asleep after that. One day we decided to take their bikes out for a nice long ride. About 3 miles away the chain fell off my bike.

We really enjoyed the interior fire pits, it was nice after a long day to sit by the fires, but not be totally outside in the wind. The kids made smores, while we enjoyed hot cocoa.

Housekeeping was friendly. Bed was acceptable for the price I paid. Overall it was a pleasent experience and will probably stay at this hotel next time I am st Huntington Beach.

Big rooms. Great views. Valet was super convenient. You cannot beat the location. Favorite part would have to be the amazing staff they keep. Everyone was so nice, helpful and accommodating. We will try to only stay here whenever we come to Huntington. It was perfect.

Great hotel and attentive service. It's right across the street from the beach. The only issue was parking. It was valet only. We chose an outside lot where we could easily access our car. Other than that it was really nice. We would stay at Shorebreak again.

I was attending a fundraiser. Parking was convenient but expensive. The fact that a code was needed for the restroom gave the impression that security was an issue and they were solving the problem withan inexpensive lock rather than supply staff. Food was okay. The sliders were good but some of the food was not good.

Went to the Zimzala bar and had some cocktails and apps. The bartender was very friendly. Would definitely recommend!

Very bad experience after the stay seen 337 dollars worth of charges. And only a 44.37 dollar credit. That's 292.63 for a room advertised for 176 plus taxes and fees On "hotel tonight" Thanks for the free wine vouchers though Timmy.

Wonderful, quite staycation in October! I reserved a courtyard city view room, with a "queen" bed (felt more like a full bed) for the weekend of October 11th. My partner and I stayed to spend a wonderful birthday weekend and loved every minute of it. Upon making my reservation, I had asked the hotel staff to book me the most quite room possible since I'm a light sleeper. Bam! Like that, they followed through. Front desk was super nice. Smooth check in and check out. The room was wonderful! Love the modern beach decor. Super cleaned, both the bathroom and sleeping area. The bed was super comfy and so were the bean bags! The balcony is nice but really overlooks a really run down antique shop, some new developed apartments and you get a small glimpse of the Pacific. I still loved the view especially when the marine layer hovered over the beach and PCH. We didn't eat at the restaurant but found ourselves eating out. Loved the hotel. Will be coming back.

Great hotel that allows all kinds of dogs. They even have a dog menu! Close to the beach and shopping and tons of great restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will be back! Only cons. Food was okay they do have chicken nuggets. But they were not cooked all the way so sent them back. Got burnt ones instead. The waitress did take them off the bill. The A/C units are loud but work well.

Thats what we told the very pleasent staff, when we were asked, " how was are stay", lol. What should have been said, I will say here and maybe, juuust maybe, We can help them "get they shit together" (is what our final opinion on The Shorebreak ended up being) the parking, we had no problem with, except when we tried to leave, we found out what the valet told us was untrue, once I put the ticket in the machine. In other words its cheaper to park it yourself. Elevators go right into the hotel. Now on to Zimzala. Well lets just say I gave them two trys, they got it right the second time. But do understand that sliders are suppose to be cooked all the way thru, like how do you get that wrong? replace some of those loud ass A. C. Units shorebreak dudes and dudetts. It feels like there is a swampcooler, in the bed with you and your girl. As they say these are the little things that make all the difference. Hang loose.

Our company had annual meeting at Shorebreak staying for 3 days. Facility was reasonable, staff friendly, however valet parking service was less than helpful. The hotel offers corporate events and weddings do not do it. Our experience with food there was awful — quality and quantity was not there. We had buffet style lunches, and it was never enough food to feed people, Chinese selection was a very low quality and greasy. Award dinner was even worst. Staff was not properly trained. Waitress spilled a full glass of ice water at the expensive dress. Restaurant Manager refused to pay for dry cleaning of the dress.

Excellent hotel restaurant, good location, quiet, beautiful rooms, nice service, Wi-Fi costs extra and TV was initially broken, was repaired but then, because the last two points not full 5 star.

Unfortunately, we had only 2 nights in this beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff. Particularly worth mentioning is the room that we occupied: only side view on the Pacific Ocean, but very spacious with a great bathroom.
