The outside was quaint and charming, the price reasonable. The proprietor was friendly and responsive. The room promised a fireplace, which it had, but it consisted of a bare gas bar with no wood real or fake. The inside of the room was adequate but lacked any decor or charm. There was old electronic stuff that did not work — almost no working plugs — except by the microwave — so use of any electronics was impossible. Coffee and rolls for breakfast. the place has potential with a bit of update and care on the inside.

Well, I guess I got my hopes up. This isn't what I expected. The room is small, walls are dirty, and the beds aren't even attached to the mattress. I don't recommend staying here, $200 was a bargain. No pools either.

We loved this bargain beach side hideaway and the people that run it. Clean remodeled first floor room with a fireplace and patio surrounded by gardens and palms. Directly across from the beach with easy access and a short walk to two home style restaurants. Some train traffic but more romantic than annoying. We are already planning a return stay in 6 months.

Not what was advertised. When you first arrive, it looks like an abandoned property. They are apparently remodeling but the contractor is not very good. The room I was assigned was dirty when I went in. The toilet seat was all jacked sideways. Not all of the lighting worked. The shower only has hot hot water no cold or warm only hot. The landscaping is overgrown with weeds. The curtains were shear, you could see right thru them. If you have never been to San Clemete you should be made aware the train rubs between the property and the beach. The first of which is at 5:01 am.

Nice place for the money. Stayed with the fam and it was perfect. Quick walk to the beach. Kids had a blast. Put them to bed and watched the sunset on the patio with my hubby. I loved it. Would come back for sure.

If the reader likes modern plastic fantastic Four Star Inns, this isn't the place for them. This place was the first motel built on the beach in the 30s, and it shows its age. That being said I found it a charming place to stay, the room was clean and well kept, and the units have their own decks/balconies. Especially for the price it's a wonderful place to stay, less than half that of the other modern inns on the strip. I plan on returning whenever business/pleasure takes me to the area.

Beyond dirty… Wiped of nightstand with tissue. It was black. Went to office… They said maid was off sick, offered a new room, it was dirty too. We found a new place to stay. Side note, the beach is across a 4 lane highway from the inn, not 50 feet like the ad claims.

This place is horrible. I stayed here on a business trip and had the worst experience no customer service at all.

Voted one of the top 10 dirtiest hotels in 2009 by Trip Advisor, in has only gotten worse. Do not stay here!

The garden is pretty and it's nice to have a private outdoor space that faces the beach. Unfortunately that beach is across a busy street and railroad tracks, so pretty loud and you'll probably only have a view from the second floor. I travel with my dog and these guys only charge 10 dollars for him and don't ask for any deposit. The rooms are simple but clean and the price is reasonable.

Honestly this was just a terrible experience overall. The rooms had gross cold "tile" floors, the bathrooms were disgusting and the shower leaked profusely into the bathroom. The window in our room was broken, scaring us unbelievable since it's right up against a main road. And I'm all about trying to save s buck or two but for $140.00 per night for two night your better off just saving a little money and staying a little further away from he beach, but the WORST part was that the man who owned the place was a RUDE LITTLE MAN THAT BARELY SPOKE ENGLISH. I haven't been so close to hitting someone like that in a while. It's not work 50 bucks let alone $140 do not stay here.

I have been staying here at a very economical weekly rate, and the motel is a gem. It's across the street from the ocean and a beach with lifeguard and basketball courts, with bicycle trails and beautiful views from my balcony. The grounds here have banana trees and beautiful plantings along the winding sidewalk in front. The hotel was build in the 1920's and has all the old fashioned charm and touches, a fireplace in each room, and murals above the doors. There is garae parking in back, and maid service, and continental breakfast in the mornings, phone and cable in the rooms. People are so friendly. You can ask anything out of the ordinary that you need, and they will make every effort to help you in any way.

I stayed at the Capistrano Seaside Inn for one night this weekend, and my friend and I really enjoyed the place. We love old hotel charm — the bathroom was spacious and had beautiful ornamented tile work in the shower, the room had rustic tiles on the floor, comfortable beds and all the promised amenities. We so enjoyed the private garden patio with view of the sea. I can definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes "charming and cozy" rather than a sterile environment! Other good things were the very competitive price and the complimentary breakfast. Two thumbs up.
