A wonderful B&B with owners who provide a great chat and hearty breakfast. The rooms were clean and we were even offered a place to stay on our return trip while the owner was out of town, such hospitality!

Clean, comfortable home. Wonderful breakfast. Hosts are friendly and helpful, knowledgeable about the area. A great Alaska experience.

Pat and Bob are wonderful people and run a very nice B&B right in town. Easy to get everywhere. Breakfasts were delicious and the rooms were very nice and cozy with lots of blankets, pillows, dark window coverings, and gas stove. Slept like a baby, ate like a queen!

First… follow the directions on the website. We got lost using our cell gps. After pulling into the drive way the gps directed us to, and knocking on the closest door a nice naked lady gave us directions (yep she was naked, but thank goodness for a wooden door — — her cat was clothed though, it wore a bell around its neck. ) we arrived at the Spyglass Inn. Chipotle Blueberry jam, nutty, home made granola toasted oak brown, and goat yogurt. Not made from goats of course, but goat's milk. Breakfast was one of the delights of this lovely little BnB. My husband selected this location, and I was pleasantly surprised. Sometimes BnBs can be a bit of an adventure not always for the good. Practical points? Private room/with bath/commode across the hall. The room is appointed with an easy chair, a night stand on the right side with a lamp, a closet, a TV with satellite reception, two windows with dark shades, and a gas heater. You will "drown" in the pile of sheet, comforter, quilt combination and sleep soundly. The bathroom has a sink, commode, and tub shower combination. Hot water in abundance. I'm a fan of hot water. I took too many cold showers working in camps ages ago, so hot water is important to me. Breakfast is a feast of (locally laid) — — eggs made to order, bacon, a variety of locally produced goat milk cheese and yogurt, and a selection of locally lovingly handmade jams. Oh, I almost forgot, our hostess make her own granola.

Pat the owner was hospitable and friendly. We had a nice, quiet, and comfortable room. Breakfast on both days was delicious with a variety of food.

Pat is a gracious host. Breakfast was deliscious and she went out of her way to accomodate our tastes. The rooms were clean and personalized with her hand made quilts. Definitely a nice quiet place to stay when in homer.

We had a wonderful 2-day stay with Pat at the Spyglass Inn. Breakfasts were delicious, with homemade granola, goat cheeses and yogurt, as well as more familiar cow's milk yogurt and cheese, scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon and fried potatoes. Homemade bread with an assortment of amazing jams and jellies and baked goodies such as blueberry clafouti and banana bread finished breakfast on a sweet note. The B&B was convenient to downtown restaurants and museums and had a pretty view of the bay from the deck, which all guests are welcome to use. Pat was knowledgeable about the area and helped us create a Plan B when our day of sea kayaking was cancelled due to wind. We loved Pat's hospitality, including sending us off with a bag — breakfast for our early morning bus departure.

Our stay with Pat at her home, the Spyglass Inn, was memorable and enchanting. Pat's breakfasts are truly gormet munti-course sit down affairs full of color, flavor, uniquely special ingredients, and love. Truly, speaking as a "foodie", I believe it would be impossible to find a more delightfully perfect breakfast anywhere within 100 miles. Her home sits up above Homer, slightly off the main beaten path where it's quiet and a perfect retreat. The rooms are clean and cozy, lacking nothing, full of charm. Pat was friendly and always full of good suggestions for local things to do and quick to 'hook us up' with special deals from her extensive connections in the community. Because of her excellent suggestions we made several last minute itenary changes where she directed my wife and I to better options which we had overlooked during our planning because of their lack of Internet presence — and we were very pleased with all her suggestions from best fish tacos to a better ferry tour. Our time at the Spyglass was absolutely one of the highlights of our trip and we have every intention to return as soon and often as possible.

The Spyglass Inn was a wonderful find. Pat and Arden are great hosts. Pat is very involved in the community and therefore makes great suggestions. Arden is hilarious. I would recommend The Spyglass Inn to anybody.

My new life dream is to have Pat cook for me every day. The food-smells when you walk in is tantalizing. And Pat and Arden are so sweet and hospitable! I have a lot of allergies as well as chemical sensitivities, yet I didn't have any problems there. The place is clean, yet does not have "chemical" smells. They don't own cats or dogs, and I noticed that her laundry soap doesn't have synthetic fragrances! The only smell in that cozy house is amazing fresh hot FOOD! Also, if you're into fabric crafts, this is the place to go. The quilts on the beds are all made by Pat and reflect "Alaska" themes. If you want to feel "at home" like you never have before, stay here. Oh, and Pat has lots of great "inside information" on local events and services.

Great B&B in the beautiful town of Homer, AK. We were first interested in the Spyglass due to the beautiful quilts made by Pat and we were not disappointed in our stay. Pat and Arden are wonderful hosts and have a beautiful home. It was the perfect balance of attentive hosts and privacy for our vacation. Pat's homemade breakfasts were delicious and she went out of her way to make sure every detail of our stay was perfect. I would highly recommend the Spyglass to anyone with plans to visit Homer and I can't wait to return.

The quilts on all beds are made by the owner and reflect the beauty surounding this "in the heart of Homer" best place to stay home. The best cook in Homer made my breakfast. The eggs were perfect and I had Lava cake which is to die for before heading out for some great fishing. I highly reccomend both Homer, Alaska and the Spyglass Inn as destiations for those planning a trip to Alaska.

We had no expectations except for a place to rest. It turned out to be wonderful! Arden pointed out a moose right beside the path, Pat baked delicious cinnamon rolls and the entire place was outfitted with handmade quilts. We enjoyed it immensely — too bad it's so far from Texas or we'd be dropping in all the time.

We had an incredible time at the Spyglass Inn. Our hosts were extremely warm and cordial. They had wonderful knowlege of the local attractions and best fishing charters as well. We were made to feel like family with the incredible cooking and attention to detail. Our hostess, Pat would give us choices as well as a most delectable menu. The view was beyond beautiful and a baby moose was born in the back yard on our last visit. We cannot say enough about this terrific place and could not think of staying any place else.
