Despite a dirty hot tub and lack of normal IHG items on breakfast bar this hotel wasn’t half bad. I would come back and would recommend to others. Clean bed and comfy atmosphere in lobby and eating area. Staff was super nice too.

We are enjoying our stay here. The staff has been very friendly. Our room is modern and comfortable. Beds are good and the room is spacious.

Likes: Friendly staff. Clean. Airport shuttle. They cover Arctic and King taxi to hotel from airport if shuttle isn't available. Nice looking lobby and breakfast area. Air conditioned room. Variety of soft / firm Pillows. Dislikes: Bed too firm. Shower just drops the water like water pressure is very low. Sink faucet is low budget and hard to tell which way to turn it for hot/cold because of it's design. Carpet in elevator looks old and disgusting. Breakfast: none of the warm stuff is fresh. It's been frozen. Eggs bad, powdery texture. Bacon tiny, thin microwaved. Small biscuit hard, dry and obviously was frozen not fresh. No bin for smokers outside. Cigarette butts all over ground and stuck between rocks near bench.

Nice staff, clean, and the pool and workout room is good. Pools a bit small so that's for the 4 stars.

Great staff at this hotel. The rooms were nice and clean. The AC worked great and we were surprised we needed it. I would stay here again.

Took an hour and half to get the room that was reserved, with a couple hours notice of our arrival. At 4 pm they were still cleaning the rooms we had reserved and we had to wait. The shower in my particular room is absolutely useless. You have to run in circles to even get wet. Curtains will NOT remotely close out all the light. In a place where it's light for months at a time. Lucky for them, my company is paying for my stay, or I'd go across the road to the Hampton Inn.

Friendly front desk people. Very helpful in pointing US to the room we were looking for and where the elevator was.

This was my second time staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites for business and just like the first time the rooms were very well kept and clean, the management and front desk were great, and the breakfast had a wide variety of food to choose from. I would highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Fairbanks.

I really stopped in to see family satying there. The interactions I had with staff were very pleasent.

Pool was closed 3 out of 4 days we were there, they discounted the room but it ruined our trip. The only reason we booked at this hotel was to use the pool. They offered to let us use another hotels pool, but that defeats the whole purpose of being able to go straight to your room after getting out of the pool. Breakfast was ok, bacon and sausage tasted like cardboard and eggs weren't even real, tasted like instant mix, very disappointed. Customer service was ok, staff was friendly, just upset about paying so much not to use the pool which was the whole reason we stayed there to begin with.

They had an amazing pool and hot tub and they were very nice to allow people who were staying at the Best Western Plus who's pool was down to swim in their pool thank you very much it was wonderful.

Very nice location, surprisingly good breakfast, and extremely friendly staff. Close to local stores, and the parking lot and walkway were kept mostly snow free.

The rooms are very comfortable, the staff are super nice and really went out of their way to make our stay a great experience. We had to travel to fairbanks with my daughters cheer squad from wasilla we checked in late (10pm) and my little boy was bummed that the pool was closed the front desk clerk kept it open for him until 11 just to keep a smile on his little face.

This is the best hotel ever. We have had great service, clean rooms and amazing staff. They have gone above and beyond to help us.

The room is very comfortable and the morning breakfast is good. Laundry room has small units and half of them are consistently broken with long wait times. No towels for the pool so there is constant water and slipping issues throughout the first floor. Towels in the bathroom are stored in the shower so if you have a couple staying in the room there is no place to dry your bath towels.

Breakfast was amazing! Room smelled like cigarette smoke, I believe because people smoked outside the window as there was butts all over ground. Pool was not open at 9am, which is why we stayed for kids to swim. And employee smoked right outside front door and used the wall of the business to drag their cigarette out on. Since we only stayed one night for the grandkids to swim overall it was fine! After all the kids had a great time!

A little noisy, fire alarm went off this morning. Clean and well kept. Friendly staff.

Great hotel! Good location, close to shopping and restaurants. Good breakfast spread, clean quiet rooms with A/C and room darkening drapes for those long sunny and hot Fairbanks days. Good staff and airport shuttle make it an excellent value.

The rooms were awesome. Best sleep ever! The staff are friendly also.

Stayed with a High School Softball Team for the State tournament and were well treated and taken care of. I always try to choose HIE for their balanced and protein laden breakfasts. No complaints about staff, room quality, amenities or location. One really major problem showed up after getting home when I found a spurious almost $500 charge on the card that was swiped on arrival for " incidentals". Despite five phone calls, promises of correction, promises to "get right back to me" I have not found out exactly what they were charging me for and have not received any correction of this charge. At this point, I would find it hard to consider staying here again.

If I could, I would rate it 0 stars. My husband & I stayed here for 8 nights, not once were our bed sheets changed. The breakfast lady was rude & the receptionist at night was really irritable. I was told a couple of times that our room would be cleaned but it never happened. When they came in to make our beds they took the trash but didn't put trash bags back in. There was trash left from the previous stay that was stashed behind the furniture. The towels that were given to us were dirty. The last night, I went out to talk to the receptionist he seemed annoyed & made it seem like it was an inconvenience for him to move us into a cleaner room. I'm highly disappointed with the staff & the service.

When we leave we will have stayed here 20 nights. They have been amazing at extending our stay and meeting our needs. Thanks again!

From the moment I walked in I was treated very nicely and was made very comfortable. Lots of amenities and pretty good breakfast. It's been a nice stay.

We just stayed for the day since our flight schedule was weird, but they graciously accommodated us. The room was great and the bed was comfortable. Best shower and poop I had during our whole trip.

We stay here quite often and we love this place. The staff is friendly and the rooms are very clean. The breakfast is excellent. It's very close to shopping and restaurants.

Rooms and service at the front desk was very good, however, the breakfast service was horrible.

Arrived after 2 AM and when I got to the room, I noticed the TV was missing; the remote and cables for the TV were there but no TV. I wasn't planning on watching it so that wasn't much of an issue but still. The next morning, I noticed hairs on the pillow which obviously weren't mine based on the length and color. Otherwise, the room seemed clean. I didn't have a chance to say anything to the front desk because I was running late to catch the airport shuttle.

They are ass holes at the front desk the breakfast lady is a real beep scared some little kid because he was not with his parents so I said leave the kid alone and let him eat so after that every one treated me like crap. I stayed there for 7 months and got no points with there rewards program always had some dumb excuse every time I tried. So I will just stay at choice hotels.

Room is good quality and clean. Price is pretty reasonable and breakfast is nice.

Reviwes are old, read them all. Beds are not very comfortable. On the 2nd floor you can hear the washer and dryer running all night and lots of traffic in and out if the laundry room. The kitchen staff were not nice at all. One lady stands there like a drill sergeant, watching the food. Cold coffee, no to go boxes for cinnamon roles. If you ask the staff for anything they're short with you, unfriendly. I stopped eating there and started taking something to go. Same for front desk. Its so obvious that they're forcing themselves to be friendly. It's an uncomfortable exchange at best. Curtains are not good at blocking out the light.

Good hotel close to the city and right across from a strip mall. Nice breakfast buffet and clean rooms/baths.

This was my favorite hotel. My husband and I stay here 1-2 weeks a month. Then, new management took over and here are these are the things that occurred. 1. My husband is a tattoo artist and was cleaning his machines and the maid took a picture of it on her phone and got the GM. So that was a true invasion of privacy. 2. At breakfast, the lady will not make more food past like 8:30 and will turn of the drink machine while you are still pouring your drink. 3. If you are gold or platinum you DO NOT get free upgrades or waters or anything.

For the discount websites prices and the breakfast buffet, this is a really nice hotel that is relatively close to everything.

Brand new, just built in 2008. Everything is clean and new. However — in Alaska there is absolutely no humidity. The heat is forced air. Anyone from a temperate climate will need a humidifier to sleep comfortably. Luckily there is a super Wal-mart across the parking lot from this hotel, so a cheap humidifier is easy to come by. There is also free breakfast here which is good to have if just for the coffee alone, although all coffee is poor in Alaska (I'm a NYer, please excuse the snobbery). They also have a clean indoor heated pool and hot tub. Fresh, hot, soft cookies out on a plate in the lobby nightly. They are so good they caused a colleague of mine to slip and fall while running to eat the last one, resulting in a broken pair of spectacles. The hotel paid for his replacement glasses, which I thought was nice considering he caused the fall.

Excellent service, good breakfast, front desk staff outstanding a+. Good price.
