We arrived Baantalay in 2003 first time. And have stayed here since. Is there something to complain about. Yes, there is. But we have just decided to focus on the Beautiful place Baantalay is located in. The beach is supernice. The room have all what we need. For us, Baantalay is home.

I'm a bit shock that the pool not as huge as I think. The room is great, the service is good but the breakfast not really enjoyable.

We liked the hotel. Rest in the family in June 2018.
Hot cold water goes normally. Breakfasts are delicious. The rooms are clean. Relatively small.
Be sure to bring a mosquito repellent that works from the outlet. Local shops sell only aerosols and sprays.
The hotel is located on a clean beach. The water is always great. The sand is white.

I sit here on a mountain, far away from the beach and restaurants. We booked a room here after staying at another place in Sumai because we decided we wanted one more day on the island. When we arrived we were met with smiling faces and ice cream, only to learm the hotel was somehow overbooked and a room by this location was no longer available but we could stay at the pool side villa not far away. The pool side villa is in the middle of the mountain, with 0 things to walk to. I was told it was a more expensive option, only to learn If we booked at the pool side villa or would have been $500 baht less. When I asked them about this, they made an excuse and claimed it was not true, which it was. We were told the shuttle could bring us to the beach side hotel we paid for whenever we wanted it, but after we just requested the shuttle we were told it would be at least an hour because he was busy shuttling other overbooked guests to another location. We can't just walk out our door, we literally need a golf cart to pick us up so we can get down off of the hill, so dinner must wait. We are hungry, frustrated and not happy with this experience. The really odd thing was when we first arrived at the beach front location they took a photo of us holding ice cream and wet towels, it was nice and felt welcoming. When we were brought to our new room in the middle of nowhere, the same person made us take a picture holding a disclaimer.

Modern Hotel with bright comfortable rooms. Good breakfast. Not crowded both in the hotel and on the beach. Umbrellas, sun loungers are free all the time. The Sea and the beach are super. It was a very relaxing family holiday.

Great Bungalow-complex on the beach! The Bungalow is super nice, comfortable bed, small fridge, TV with a German transmitter. On the beach are Sunbeds and umbrellas available, it is a sandy beach. The Breakfast is plentiful, delicious and for everyone is what! You have Breakfast every Morning overlooking the sea. If Koh Samui, then you definitely again at Baan Talay!

The pool is just a few steps from the bungalow. Dinner is available as a menu. Service friendly. Only disturbing: The cleaning trolleys in the early morning. Can't be at all!

Awesome Place in Chaweng. The rooms are big and clean. Absolute friendly and competent crew — and a great and gentle Hotel Manager. Thank you so much for the beautiful time, special thanks to Beer. It was not my first time at Baan Talay and definitely not my last time hope

Great value for money (very much so). Breakfast was good. We drove around the entire island and came to the conclusion that this beach with this resort was the best beach on the island. Only issue was parking; The reception takes your car keys while you leave the car there, but they have no security measure to identify who owns which car so any one can drive off with anyone’s car.

Nice cozy resort at the beach, very friendly staff, clean, but probably need a small renovation.

Very nice pool, beach, breakfast and friendly staff. Beach area without sunbed but pool super close.

Various deficiencies in the pool area (missing tile pieces as well as loose and missing Bidendielen).
Breakfast location overcrowded (too few seats for too many guests).
Meals are no longer replenished if empty or you have to wait a long time after the request.
Rooms are OK, cleanliness also i. O.
Very good location right on the beach with good Beach section as well as outside on the street many bars and pubs.
Prices for normal soft drinks at the hotel are considerably more expensive than in any surrounding restaurant or other beach bars.
Example 1 Coke 80baht in hotel in all restaurant's 30/40baht all in all in my opinion but not the star rating just according to which it is categorized.

Small but nice… Overhaul of the pool system is necessary.

Nice, quite, on the beach, not close to chaweng center, the windows in the bathroom are made of glass, toilet is not working all time, hot water are not allways available, bed is clean. Rate 7.7.

Excellent resort superb staff perfect location.

Was in a cottage of the resort it was a bit off. The house was top and a shuttle was available to us as unfortunately no phone was available in the house you have to call privately what can be expensive without a Thai number. Would book the House again at any time.

The place is lovely place, but some staff is lier and cheater. They not really no an well know about they room condition.

Bathroom hot water cool and hot, pipe line installation is very strange, into the room floor sticky, is a single wet, swimming pool is not good, by the sea is wrong, cheap praise!

Great priced spacious rooms with a large central swimming pool in the middle of the resort. This resort is ON THE BEACH with soft white sand and stunning views of the ocean from the restaurant. Super friendly and helpful staff make this place a winner. Located on Chewang beach but not in the flight path of the airport gives to the best experince. Must visit!

I love this resort. The accommodation was clean and spacious and almost on the beach. The beach is one of the best I have ever been on and the sea was warm and safe for children. The staff were friendly and really helpful. I would defiantly recommend this resort.

When we arrived, they told us there was a system error and then moved us to the sister hotel which is over 2km away and in the mountains, not the beach… the other location was beautiful but had nothing around it. The room was better but NOT better for us and what we spent time researching and trying to book. They did offer a shuttle back and forth that only ran until 10pm so we had to adjust our schedules.

Very many and very noisy children in the pool. The parents are ruthless. I borrowed moped and drove somewhere else. Please avoid if vacation.

The pool is clean and the room is spacious. I don't like it: sometimes there's no water after the drain in the toilet, the mass of cigarette butts on the beach. Collect the trash once, hang the signs that forbid smoking on the beach.

Very good friendly envoirment best view breakfast is good. Pool is good loved it everything about it.

Small Resort on the Southern End (less crowed) of Chaweng Beach. Good Breakfast Buffet daily.

Nice place on Crystal Bay. Crystal Bay is such a nice place to visit. The Talay Resort is a bit overpriced and they have the nerve to charge you the extra ++ tax.

Everything in it is good: and the location, and the beach, and breakfasts, and staff, but began to "go ahead with success" because of consistently high ratings and room prices have become too draped, the price ratio — the quality has ceased to correspond to the level of the hotel, and even to update the rooms, they have already grown.

The structure is nice but should be taken care of a little more. Excellent staff, clean room but not at maximum comfort. Good breakfast.

Resort is ok and clean but it feels sometimes that it is in need of a bit of renovation. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Away from the hustle and bustle of chaweng and nice bungalow… good swimming pool and playa. Desayuno completo. Muy recommendable motorbike rental.

The whole resort is OK, but the doors of the bungalows is a big joke! You cannot really close and when you close you cannot open. But the biggest Joke is the Night-Security because I never see someone and this resort is an open-Resort. The roomkeepers are good, they do their job very good. The girls on the reception too. The breakfast was ok but not good. Beach is only in the internet-pictures good. the best thing in this resort is the italian-restaurant on the otherside of the street called 'pinocchio', the best pizza I ever eaten. I think I would not come back again. Peace.

Cannot close the door of the bungalow, water was Brown and smell bad. Not clean room, only Beach was good. And friendly woman on reception. I would never go back here.

Flooded by Russians, after 4 days stay broke off. Very well maintained Beach and location.
The beds are cruel hard!
There, the night's sleep is not controlled.
Shops, restaurants and another in 1-5Min can be reached.
Really suitable as a transit hotel, for me never again!

3 rooms with sea views. The rest are, at best, with views of the pool, at worst on a high concrete fence. The unit operates on on/off. How to be at night is unclear, because blowing icy air (22C°) right on the bed. The window is not open, the door facing the street should be locked up for the night. So think than to breathe. After my first night with a sore throat, the second night slept with off air conditioning. The result is barely awake and all swollen. He lived for 2 nights and moved out. Rooms with sea view them if I'm not mistaken — 3. Remaining in the best of the pool, and at worst a high concrete fence. Air conditioning is available on the on / off button. How to be at night are unclear because blowing icy air (22C °) directly onto the bed. The window does not open, the door facing the street must be locked at night. Think about what to breathe. My first night after the throat, the second night sleeping with air conditioning off. The result — a barely awake and all swollen. Lived 2 nights and moved out.

Small boutique resort, greet pool and beach, restorant is nicely located. And the rooms are clean and clear Food is okay, not great. Might be the best place to stay if you wish to be in chewang.
