We recently had a lovely dinner in Trader Vics and I would like to thank Ricardo and Carmen for their hospitality, of course the rest of the Filipinas who are as always very welcoming and friendly to their guests. We will be back soon for another night of good vibes. Thank you guys!

Tried their buffet last friday and all I can say is “ill make sure my husband will break his fasting again in intercontinental” Huge variety of food. Fresh. And really tasty. Well it fits with everyone from kids. To those people who are on specific diet and thats what I really enjoy. People are even checking us specially with the safety precaution while we are eating and in the cold table too. The staff are so attentive. 🥰😍 U nailed the food guys. See u next week ends!

Food is terrible found a anchovy in our Caesar salad. Have asked for a drink 3 times now still not got one. The pool area and tomato is very quite, so no excuse.

Expensive, everythings old and will take forever to renovate. Rooms at the back face noise from aircon equipment outside, plumbing not working, pool area old. Saying that the location, lap pool, food and the service make up for bad things:)

Intercontinental Muscat aged as it best. Lovely place — from its location, lobby, pool and of course the room with the view of the beach. Wonderful staff that are always ready to help. And yes, food are even better specially the Japanese Restaurant. Thank you for looking after us whenever we visit Oman — John Price and Ferlyn Price.

A very comfortable and relaxing place even though it's a bit old but that made it much nicer. Love the decor! It has different pools, one of which is not only temperature controlled but also almost fully shaded so you will get cold even in the middle of summer. It has beach access but the beach isn't that nice. It also has a gym, table tennis and foosball.

Poor 60s old English decor. Was placed in non connection g room which smelt of smoke. Moved to club room later. Large grounds next to beach but not on the beach. Breakfast very good. Dinner rip off and poor selection.

Unlike the dilapidated look of the exterior of the building. The interior is sublime. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable. Two swimming pools including one for sportsmen and the sea nearby. Very nice room but dilapidated bathroom. FYI the hotel to start the renovation work. Otherwise all services are available. This was my sixth stay.
I hope to go back.

Excellent stay. The hotel is luxurious with all possible convinces and comfort means. The staff are very friendly cooperative. The restaurant food is delicious. The building is old but well maintained. The view depends on your room location as not all rooms have a good view. The location of the hotel is good as it is very close to the sea and there are many Cafes around.

First impression: The tricky (Indian) receptionist tries to sell extras like lounge access for extraordinary price …
Second impression: A musty smell in the room and an oldfashioned bathroom, furniture … Welcome to the 5 stars of the 70s!
Third impression: Partly under renovation. So there still is a hope … Fortunately the initially requested extension of the stay is not available. So I have the chance to move to other hotel in town, hopefully better …

My friend's reception was here and the hotel is quite nice, food was good, set up was good, service was good too. Compared to Hyatt Regency they had better quantity because once the dessert finished they had more food even though that finished quickly too as it was an Indian crowd. It's a good hotel with good services. Other than that haven't been there.

Was not a very good experience for me. For a 330 USD per night for a standard room my expectations were much higher… Almost all the furniture looks very used, shower and the bath tube were far from a 5 star hotel standards… In my opinion hotel rooms would require re-innovation…

The location is the best in muscat. Near the beach and restaurants. The view is amazing, the room is great. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff.

Rooms are a bit dated but the bed is awesome! Service is very good, rooms were always clean and the breakfast, THE BREAKFAST is AWESOME! there is also great restaurants inside the hotel and the pool has a great pizza and offers wine by glass. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel didnt stay but went to trader vics. Had a few problems with some local guys as I was alone there. The manager of trader vics was exceptional helping me get home safely as did the people at the hotel.

Very friendly staff The rooms are comfortable and clean. The lobby is beautiful to see. The bathrooms to redo and the insulation of the windows.

A nice hotel with all amenities in an excellent location. Their buffet is excellent. Lotnof choices are avaialble. The beach is very close and well secured. Police is around so security normally not an issue. Lot of barnded coffe shops are near by. Decent place.

Well I attended a seminar last Tuesday, the rest rooms, (I really feel sorry for the cleaners) although saying that their cleaning standards of rooms were not up to the mark at all, need to improve.

Saturday brunch at the Trader Vic’s was so delicious. I would definitely recommend it. The staff was also very friendly. Thanks for the lovely experience.

Comfortable hotel. Probably the most beautiful pool in Muscat. The hotel stayed in its juice and the décor is a bit dated. However, a renovation is scheduled to take effect from May 2018. Excellent breakfast Listening staff.

Location and breakfast very good, leisure facilities okay, a little bit in the years come.

Nice clean, the star are super friendly and the food was good in the breakfast buffet as well as the restaurants within. The only draw back is the construction of the neighbouring hotel which made the rooms near the construction side super noisy. I asked for my room to be changed to the other side of the hotel, they were very accommodating and was moved immediately. I liked that there was access to the public beach where you get to see the locals playing football on the beach and enjoying the walk along the beach. The sea views from the hotel is pretty and the parakeets that perch on the balcony are entertaining.

Not been in Muscat for thirty five years! I am impressed beyond words at how well Oman has progressed. Friendly as always and the hotel is excellent.

Absolutely amazing hotel. Perfect view, great service and an amazing pool. The breakfast was lovely and the bars and restraints located within the hotel were Great.

Decent all-round experience. Rooms nothing special. Breakfast buffet was amazing. Well stocked fitness room. Pool area very pleasant with table service. Beware for 2018 as there is a massive building site to the rear of the hotel.

The best location next to the Opera, along the beach, with great restaurants, a lively pub, and anticipating staff (a mix of locals and charming Philippinos). Classy rooms and lavish Club Lounge. The oldest international hotel in Muscat, and still the best since 1977.

Staff was excellent, but even with an upgrade the rooms are smallish and dated. Ocean view is great though. Club level rooms don't mean Club access. You need to be some super duper Ambassador level to get that.

Food: 90% Lobby: 90% Exterior landscaping and setup: 95% Room: Air has to keep AC on all time to purify the air. Bathroom is good but still using tge old fashion cold hot watet blender each one with a separate valve which is quite hard to set the required temp. Room is well prepared with coffee making machine iron ironing table nice beds, carpet has to be frequently cleaned. General evaluation is 85%

This is a very nice hotel. It is a resort hotel with nice pool and beach access. There is also nice bar type dining and a very popular off site restaurant.

Was there to have lunch. Lunvh was not at all expensive for a hotel of that grade. Food choices were super and ambience was nice. Staff were very good and cordial.

My first time I arrived in Muscat we stayed in intercontinental hotel and my first day was very good. And my boss introduce me some staff and there very nice and friendly. The food are amazing. And before I flew back to Villa we had breakfast and most I love there are the croissant…

It’s good hotel to spending the weekend but need some more maintenance and toilet need to be renewed. Cool place for tanning, beach, pool.

Excellent hotel, stayed here several times, on of the old hotels in Muscat, still a trendy hotel with all what you need inside it. A very nice outdoor swimming pool. The staff is really friendly, tried a couple of restaurant here, and they are good taste & excellent service. Try the masandam restaurant really good.

The rooms and many of its facilities are dated but they are planning to develop parts of the hotel. The structure itself is beautiful and the restaurants and buffets has amazing food. The people there are really welcoming and has this sense of ownership of their country and are greatful hosts. You cam ask anyone one at the hotel about oman and its history and they are happy to tell you all about it. Great welcoming atmosphere.

This place calls itself a 5 star hotel, on par with places like Atlantis the Palm Dubai or Trump Tower Chicago. You pay the premium and expect the best possible service and facilities. But that wasn't the case. The room is 3 stars, the hotel is 4 stars, the food is 5 stars. This place doesn't live up to the Intercontinental name.

The welcome reception was good. The restaurants are nice. The gym and the spa facilities were a little impressive. Highly recommend the bone cracking massage at the health center. Dining at the Trader Vics was good, that restaurant has a mainly polynesian menu with a fantastic dinner atmosphere; live band and great service.
Would highly recommend the Italian Tomato restaurant which is directly across the main pool for lunches and snacks. Their pizzas' and pastas' are fantastic.
Breakfast buffet at the Musanadam was really good as well. Overall it was a good stay.

It might be one of the oldest hotels in the Omani Capital but… it's still amazing. The staff are so polite, efficient, friendly and welcoming. It's like you are family. The rooms are quiet and very comfy. With an amazing garden and outook and a 30 second walk to the beach … what more do you need. The breakfast is the best I've tried, the selection amazes and everything is so well prepared and presented. I can't fault it. We dined in Trader Vic's last night and enjoyed wonderful local fish dishes on the verandah whilst overlooking the pool in 30+ degrees. What could be better. Worth every penny.

1. Fascinating view with calm beach and rocky mountains, and location about 20 min. From the airport. 2. Foooood! We experienced real Iftar and Suhoor Omani with the fresh fishes, vegetables, fresh juices, …, etc. Full of delicious things. 3. Friendly humble staffs showed us the courtesy. 4. I love the high ceiling with beautiful teak in the mail lobby. I just love it. 5. Facility-wise in general, it is old, could be improved.

Buffett is excellent though bathrooms are old and toothpast is not provided.

Rooms a little old, work next door for a new hotel, but the welcome is excellent.

The hotel is one of my favourites This is my second stay in less than a year This time I was shocked by the noise around. D the hotel because of running construction works You can't sleep after 7 am when construction starts. Otherwise the service is very good. Room service guys keep opening the rooms and enter and if they find you asleep they wake you up for silly reasons (like refilling the mini bar) or if you forget to put the (don't disturp) they don't leave and they wake you up. All in all is good I will come again if the Cost ructions stopped Otherwise I will start look for other hotel.

I had been really a wonderful experience of my life. The interior decoration and staff and the food provided us all are really able to be appreciate. The food decor is very nice and the ambiance that was created is really exceptional I can't forgot the day that spent here.

Food has been moving from bad to worst. They need to seriously do something abt that.

It's cosy, old school, check the electric plus though, only a couple; out of all of them in my room were working (facilities rated 2 because of this), Wi-Fi is free an has great connectivity, nice and quite too, beds are clean and comfy, if you want to go to old traditional markets, got to matrah and nizwa, and it's best to find hotels near the destination or place you wish to visit exclusively only if it's your first time, that's just me though, roads and transportation here is of gulf standard (If you've been to the. UAE, it's almost the same) the locals are amazing, willing to help ya out. And that's just in the city, imagine how awesome it'll be once you've went out in the "out back" this country has a multi landscape, so it had something for everyone.
