Bad service and a arrogant person running the establishment. Not very clean either. Use to be a good place to stay but not anymore.

This place has gone downhill, used to be my favorite — not anymore.

Friendly and helpful staff. Its located opposite to the beach. It's also next to Dolphin Encounters. Ample car park space. We got the unit on first floor as the ground floor units are not large enough to cater for the capacity of people going to be living. No lifts. The unit is more like a townhouse what that means is that the unit has a (carpeted) staircase in it to get to the two bedrooms. The unit was clean and tidy. The kitchen is well equipped with basics. The two bedrooms are large in size and have ample space to move around even with a large suitcase kept in each room. Each bedroom has a single bed plus a queen/kind bed. The beds and pillows are comfortable. There is a toilet provided between the bedrooms which is a nice feature. Each bedroom and living room have access into balcony providing an awesome view of the Alps. Please note the balcony accessed from living room or bedrooms is not a private one but extends across between the units. The view is amazing. There is a central laundry facility provided in the premises. If traveling with young kids there is a school (Kaikoura Primary) next to this hotel which has a large play structure open to public. This was the first time I have seen a school share it's playground with general public. Speaks a lot about the Kaikoura community and their thoughtful nature for travellers with young kids. My kids certainly enjoyed a lot after travelling for 3 hrs on the interislander and then from Picton to Kaikoura by car.

Simple and easy. Quite a bit of noise from rooms beside and above, like suitcases being rolled about.

Amazing views, little evidence of earthquake damage. Great value for what you get. Not sure how it will stand up when all the earthquake damage is repaired around.

Modern well equipped motel. Nice rooms. Close to downtown.

It's basically a motel. Away from the centre. Room walls and roof made of some cheap materials. Sounds from 1st floor and adjacent rooms very disturbing. Very rude manager/owner. Arrived with my wife and 2 kids at 1pm and was made to wait because check in time 2pm, on the day of checking out I was yelled at for not checking out at 10am sharp. The experience in staying at this place was pathetic.

Lovely spacious room. Very comfortable bed. A bit of noise from room above as people moved around.

Very convenient for dolphin experience. Apart from that it’s a typical motel. It has all you’d expect except decent Wi-Fi.

I like this place for its location. It's just infront of the sea and walking distance from the main market area mostly all rooms have sitting area outside the room. They have a small kitchen setup with microwave and the coffee which they provide is dip Jed coffee which is of superior quality. All in all a nice room for a weekend gateway.

This place is amazing just arrived after a very long drive only wish we could stay longer but itinerary says we cannot unfortunately I would highly recommend this hotel the people are very friendly and more than happy to provide information regarding hot tourists spots if you ever make it here you will thoroughly enjoy yourselves.

Well kitted out and set up room for the price. Service was friendly and insulation is very good, I never heard anyone else even though there were quite a few other guests.

A lovely comfortable room with excellent views and a fantastic location. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely visit again in the future.

So comfortable and clean. Right by the sea and a short walk to all the bars and cafes. Friendly staff too. I plan to stay there again.

Amazing hotel views are brilliant, staff are super friendly and helpful. Room was clean and tidy and the bed omg the bed is the best bed I have ever slept on staying in this hotel is a must! Trust me you will have the best nights sleep on your life.

Clean new rooms. Good bed. Bit pricey.
