We enjoy our stay… the kitchen, BBQ area, shower and toilet are always clean. Awesome place to camp. Value wise. We recommend this camping ground.

Great powered tent site right on the lake, our family of 6 stayed 5 nights. Would recommend to everyone. If you can get past the traffic at night (they have free ear plugs at the office ☺️) which I only discovered on the second to last night 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 would definitely return.

Great service brilliant place to relax and best view. This place it a mind blowing really recommend who want to stop by on the way and experience it. Really enjoyed my two night in the lovely Dome the front lake. Trully have best stay, will come back again thank you to the two lovely ladies at the reception for your amazing service. Excellent place to get away for family time. Safely tucked up the back and able to look out over the lake. Facilities are excellent!

Loved our stay at Motutere Bay Top 10! Our unit was spotless and had heater going on arrival. Staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was an issue. Close to lots of activities!

We had an unfortunate accident in our campervan while on holiday with my husband and 2 young kiddies and the owner took me to the hospital, without hesitation, at 11pm at night and waited with me until 12:30am.
The new management, Sue and her husband are making great headway in upgrading the campsite facilities and amenities. They don’t mark up their prices on supplies and offer great activities. It’s definitely worth the visit. Thank you.

We stayed for two nights in April.
Friendly welcoming and helpful staff :-) They also have a little shop for basics and fishing needs, very convenient.
However the busy street that divides the park is awful to sleep at night. The utilities are outdated. TV room pool table and ping pong table are nice but don’t feel cozy enough to spend much time.
Kitchen at lake side is small therefore busy and not inviting to cook.
All in all not the top 10 experience we previously had at two other top 10 parks.

It’s really a nice place. I saw many place in north island for camping. This place is the best place. Lake side view is awesome. I love this place very much. All staffs are very friendly.

Not the best top 10, no dishes, showers separated from bathroom, but really good location and as ever excellent service.

Amazing view if you are having a lakeside spot. However, this means you will have a very small kitchen and no proper indoor dining area. But the view is amazing, at that more than makes up for any issues we had.

Definitely one of the prettiest camping views from a Top 10 but it comes at a cost. You're essentially right next to the main road so you'll hear cars driving by all night, if you're a light sleeper, you may want to consider not camping. The ground is also BRUTAL so good luck trying to get some pegs in. Other than that, we had a great time camping here and would definitely consider it again.

The campsite is great. We are currently the second night here and are very satisfied. The kitchen is large and functional. The sanitary facilities are clean and the showers have hot water. In addition, you can borrow all kinds of sports utensils for free at the reception and, for example, Play on the small football field.

Great campsites by the lake. Can hear cars and trucks from sh 1 but not to noisy. The lake makes up for it.

The caravan/camping facilities are excellent and the grounds are wide spread with attractive trees and planting. There are play grounds and an indoor games room and tv. The kitchen is huge, washing facilities, clean toilets and right next to the lake. There are great views. It's really worth a visit for a few days.

Camping spots were a little lack luster but the camp are had a great set up with a kitchen and shower. Was really nice to get indoors to make dinner and use a kitchen sink. The grounds are really looked after. Will definitely search out this brand when looking for a little extra while camping!

Cabins were good with most things you could want. Bed was comfy. The showers were a bit of a walk. The place lends itself to self catering as the nearest restaurants are a 15 minute drive. It is right on the beach of Lake Taupo and there are some tent and van sites on the water edge.

Unfortunately it is just the noise from SH1 that gives this place a lower score. Amenities of the campsite are good although small when the place is full. Great waking in the morning and being directly next to the lake. Will definatly visit again.

Quite a quirky little campground. They have tent sites and a lot of cabins. The place was clean but the kitchen facilities were quite small.

Stopped here for lunch and a long swim. Pros; really nice spot, water clear, lots of little semi private spots, has a picnic table. Cons: rocks (so can be hard/slippery — little uns and older people may find it a bit difficult, No toilet ar all. Unfortunately, when we visited some lazy people had left a large bag of their various takeaway rubbish and also found half a glass bottle in the shallow water — hopefully it's not a normal thing.

My boys and I had the best time camping on one of your powered tent site. The grounds and facilities were great. If we did not have to get back home, we would have stayed another week. Great friendly staff too. Thanks for all your extra help.

The scenery is perfect, the traffic however not so much. If you're on the lakeside, ear plugs are a must as trucks fail to obey the engine braking restriction signs. The facilities need more showers and the existing two upgraded. Pricing has risen considerably and the only extra you're getting for it that's different to the 1970s is the bbqs built outside the kitchen blocks.

I recently joined Top 10, so the facilties are down and accessibity is poor. Staffing aiso less professional. Wi-Fi signal is too weak. The kitchen facilities are too dirty and small.

Beautiful view. A bit far from Taupo, but 20 min is worth the drive. Get a self contained unit, otherwise the highway noise will be too much.

Location was a mix bag, view was unmatchable but we had a busy road behind! Would have been 5* without the road.

Had a one night stay at this holiday park after installing 6 new Barbeque's for them. Its a beautufull place with awesome views of Lake Taupo.

Views 10/10, camping lakeside with a tent? Don't even think about it practically like sleeping next to the highway, did not sleep at all listening to every single car, 18 wheeler and motorbike driving through that's even with earplugs! Great if you are staying in a campervan or cabin but seriously do not recommend sleeping in a tent lakeside you don't need to pay money for this kind of experience! Also hot water for the shower will cost you 50c everytime which I would have thought would be inclusive of the total cost? Staff were lovely but its no good for camping — too loud. Gutted cause its an amazing spot.

Good spot good price excellent service. We need an extra heater for the 2nd room and they provided without problem.

Stayed here on way to auckland and in the way back to Wellington awesome place to stay excellent hospitality great facilities.

Can't thank Callum & Tash enough! I saw Motutere Bay on the Park-Sleep app as I'm a touring Lions fan with a motorhome. Both are very friendly and offered to help me with anything I needed as this was the first time I used a motorhome and therefore a complete novice! The plot I got was incredible, on the lakeside with panoramic views of Lake Taupo. Amenities are clean and have everything you need. Callum & Tash are great, I had a few beers with them and they helped me out ge…tting onto the shuttle bus for the Tongariro Crossing which I thought I had lost the opportunity to do. Will do my best to head back there later in my trip. IF you're a Lions fan this is a place you have to go and see… in fact anyone travelling the country spend at least a night here. It may be on the main road, but you don't notice the infrequent traffic with the stunning views of the lake. Thanks again Callum & Tash, hope to see you soon… celebrating a Lions test win, and hopefully the series haha.

What a top place…
Andrea was particularly cheerful and an absolute delight.
I encourage all tourists to look them up and spend some time.
And the views are magnificent…

Beautiful place to stay nice relaxing camp have the Taupo lake right on you doorstep great people.

A lovely place to camp. I've been going spasmodically for years. An underpass to the shop would be advantageous and maybe some swings or something for the kids, but otherwise it's great.

We just bought a permanent caravan here and the place is fantastic and the staff are so friendly and helpful. We have been twice since purchase and cant wait to return.

Very busy at new year but really nice setting. By SH1 so can be noisy. We went diving right from the beach which was super convenient!
