I realize that it is a 2-star Hotel, regardless the standards for Amsterdam are inferior! The room was very small with 2 tiny beds. The bathroom was half finished with some wires hanging from an outlet. NO AIR CONDITIONING! HOT! Hot! Hot! The carpet was stained, dated, and dirty! It was a noisy place! The entrance door downstairs was super loud and people were rolling in throughout the night, slamming the door, screaming, talking loudly. We barely were able to sleep! Stay away from this place! It is worth to spend the extra money and stay in a comfortable place! Our Amsterdam experience was ruined because of Hotel Plantage. We would have left after the first night but they charge ahead of time and have ZERO refund policy! What a sham! It is truly a shady place! We would NEVER EVER stay here again! I have been traveling for the past 35 years, and I can count very few places that could compare in “shitiness” with this overrated piece of you know what!

Nothing particularly wrong with this 2 stars hotel, the room and the stairs were clean, the staff is kind and overhaul it's very good for the price compared to other hotels of the area. It's perfect for a one-night trip to Amsterdam as it's also near to the city center, it only takes about a 10 minutes walk.

The staff was great and the rooms were clean, even with the construction going on outside you couldn't even hear it. I only wish they had do not disturb signs to put out for people that need a bit more sleep.

Budget accommodation. The stairs are pretty steep & hard to carry large suitcases into your room. Rooms itself has a musky scent & you will need to open the room to air it out. Bathrooms could do with renovation but ok for budget. Light needs to be brighter in the bathrooms. Beds are soft & pillowsnot too bad. We had a room facing the Main Street where the tram is constantly stopping at & the street crossing is also there so you hear that all the time. It’s also a slight walk to the main city centre but close to the Holocast Musuem & zoo. The location is not too bad as you have a cafe downstairs, a convenience store & a pizza/pasta store that’s open til late if you get hungry. Overall not too bad if you want these other facilities nearby. Staff are also super healthful.

If you want to stay in Amsterdam and have a good time, don’t come here. We had €50 stolen from our room and vodka went missing. Very rude reception staff, no help when it came to sorting out the money. There was literally an earwig on my bed. Not worth the money.

A budget hotel in Amsterdam. Though the room was good, going to the room was a task. Narrow stairs, tweaking doors and next to busy road. However a reasonable budget hotel in Amsterdam.

Expensive. Central. He has nothing for the handicapped.

Hotel in Amsterdam, comfortable and not far from the town. A nice walk on a sunny day.

Good location, close to downtown but far enough away to rest from the cheerful night of Amsterdam. Small room and bathroom even more… At first it looks cold but dps for a few hours the room becomes nice. It has a microwave in the reception that can be used to heat food (about 3 blocks there is a market that sells food ready to put in the microwave… pasta, meat, stews about 3, 5 euros)

It was clean and cheap. The area is nice but is a bit of a walk from the centre. Not too far though. That's the good stuff… The room was very basic, nowhere to put clothes, nowhere to hang anything up. The en-suite was tiny and cramped, and I mean uncomfortably so. It was built into the eaves of the building so the ceiling was sloped at 45 degrees the minute you walked into the bathroom. Having a shower was difficult and the tiny mirror by the sink was only possible to use by leaning sideways while hanging onto the doorway. Having a shave was a nightmare! The bathroom was a wet room that didn't really drain properly, they'd provided a blade mop to dry the floor. In addition, on our first night there were two plug in radiators that disappeared by our second night. The man on duty didn't know where they had gone and to his credit got us an extra blanket. He said he speak to the day staff about it but nothing happened. There were always bags of laundry on the stairs throughout our stay that never moved. It wasn't a nightmare but I definitely wouldn't stay here again.

A commonplace youth hostel in a quiet area close to the centre.

Great location and price. Exterior is nothing special but rooms are clean. However, when going for a double room with two single beds — they drift apart too much.

A good place to spend a few days in Amsterdam, tram nearby and 25 min walk from the center.

Rally nice! The walls are the only negative point. You can hear people from other rooms clearly. But I was so tired and happy in this city that I didn't cared!

Quiet and comfortable hotel. Close to the University of Amsterdam. Transpotation is easy because it passes tram no 9. Clean, and close to the restaurant.

Great for a few nights in the city, a little ' tight, rooms ' base ', you sleep and you wash, in front of the tram stop. Quiet little busy area. Cleanliness is not perfect but still above the standards of the area.

Lovely clean quiet room. 15 mins walk to the center. Everything was as booked.

The hotel looks worse than it is. The stairs are dirty, the room instead is clean and tidy. Bathroom average, the brush to pull the shower water leaves perplexing. In 20 minutes walk you get right in the center, the neighborhood is absolutely quiet. There is no car park, the parking spaces in the neighborhood cost 4 euros per hour.

Pay no mine from the outside, but the room is great when you are alone and must be not bad when you are two.
Superbly well placed to go everywhere in Amsterdam and the night neighborhood is not scary at all.

Maria smokes in her rooms, dirty and sloppy to the extreme, poor maintenance and furniture, dirt, humidity, insects … Everything detestable is in this hotel.

Great facility, despite the stairs a bit steep (but in Amsterdam it seems the norm. ). Vivicinissima tram stop, Public zoo and gardens at two steps, friendly staff.

I give a star because there is no possibility of giving less. The worst place I've ever seen! I do not understand who has positively reviewed the hotel. There are neither a decent entrance nor a reception. The rooms are lifestyle. You enter directly on stairs steep that if you have to take the second floor a heavy suitcase and big sweat seven shirts. It's like carrying a suitcase on a spiral staircase. Impractical. There is no place where you can sit outside the room. The bathroom I couldn't find the light switch. After half an hour of research I discovered that C is a wire to the side of the door completely yellowed. I throw it and by miracle the light comes on. Maybe even in the Middle Ages a system like that! The price in absurd proportion! The beauty is that they charge you as soon as you arrive. Because otherwise obviously you'il with the legs raised. At the reception, if so we can call it because it is a desk in the middle of a passage corridor of 2 Mt X 1 only guys that when you ask to speak to the owner they answer you it is on vacation! Crazy. A scam. The photos that are on Booking are not truthful. To avoid absolutely. The carpet on the ground filthy. A huge bike on the bathroom door. Obscene sheets and towels. In Italy A place so the declare condemned. I could see if it cost a little. One then can think of the relationship service — price. But I have no words. Shame.

Ugh, the last time I've seen such a filthy hotel, was before 25Jahren in Guatemala.
Curtains half torn down, lamps crooked on the wall, Betthälfen not anchored together, a bed sheet with bruises and a carpet full of tracks where you don't want to walk barefoot. And the whole thing for good 100 euro…

The bathroom was clean and freshly refurbished.

The hotel is very modest. Its price is excessive compared to the level of comfort and quality of the room. I did not appreciate the old rooms. Poor soundproofing, floor creaking, poor quality bedding. And in the end not so close to the city center… In short, not top at all…

The room was clean and the breakfast was very good and the room was very comfortable.

The hotel is close enough to the centre of Amsterdam and the room is clean and tidy. A little awkward the stairs to reach it but to stay in Amsterdam for 4 days is recommended if you do not want to spend much.
