The location was perfect for us and for the price, average 10 minutes walk to all popular areas. Reception was most welcoming when we arrived, due to the steep stairs which most properties were built similarly, someone always help with our luggage with a smile. They have coffee, tea, fruits 24 hours and snacks which adds a nice touch that’s appreciated. The rooms are small but beds were so comfy, clean and functional, my daughter and I loved the balcony. I would stay again when I go back.

It is like a bed and breakfast feel. Very friendly service. There are a lot of stairs to climb so Would not recommend if you can not climb stairs. But everything else was perfect.

An unassuming single door opens onto 35 steep narrow stairs which open onto a gorgeous two-room lobby with sitting and bfast rooms. Both have beverage amenities and french doors onto a cozy long narrow balcony overlooking the bustling street. Sweeping views and plenty of sky. Located perfectly for shopping, dining, galleries, museums and more. The staff were immediately there to welcome me and take my luggage upstairs. 15 more stairs up to my room. Cozy and clean with high windows and updated private bath. No extra space in this tiny 2 twin bedroom, but perfect for one person. Would stay again!

Hotel staff, especially Rob very helpful. Breakfast very good. Help with luggage up the stairs is always given, at this quaint Hotel, which is deserving of a higher star rating.

What an amazing place. 'Home from Home'. Some of the most friendly staff i've ever met and one of the cleanest. The rooms on are par with 5 star hotels since the refurbishment and breakfast is always fresh. Staff will cook omelettes etc. If you ask. Watch out for the stairs, they are a good alternative to leg day :)

Wonderful little hotel. Staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. Rooms are very nice and tidy. Balcony room is great. Complimentary breakfast is yummy! This is my second time staying here and staff makes you feel very welcome. I will stay here whenever I am in Amsterdam!

Very friendly staff. Breakfast was good. At any time you can enjoy a delicious coffee and biscuits at reception. I recommend to everyone and I'll come again. Although the stairs in the hotel are very steep, the staff bring the suitcase to the room and at the check-out down.

Hotel Clemens is located above shops in an arcade in the Raadhuisstraat. You need to be able to negotiate a steep and narrow staircase to be able to stay here! The rooms are nicely refurbished and not too small. Some have gorgeous balconies. The free breakfast was pretty good.

Great little boutique hotel in a perfect location for exploring Amsterdam. Quiet location, very nice rooms of decent size. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, really made me feel welcome even though I just stayed for the night. Car noise from the street may bother light sleepers, but I wasn't disturbed by it at all. Highly recommended.

Pleasant hotel at the top of a building in the middle of town. Small but modern rooms and friendly staff. If you struggle with stairs it won't work for you but otherwise great.

Rooms are clean and basic. The service was great. We arrived very late and had to leave very early. We've got a full breakfast half an hour earlier than they usually serve it. Keep in mind there are very steep and many stairs, but the staff will help you with your luggage.

A lovely little central for most attraction about 750 meters from Anne Frank's museum and close to dam square.

Nice friendly family owned hotel, owners were there to meet and greet when we arrived, we arrived a bit early for room, staff kept our bags whilst we went out, when we arrived back our bags were in our room waiting for us. Free complimentary drink upon arrival as well… couldnt fault our stay here.

Really friendly staff who have a wealth of knowledge of the surrounding areas and restaurants. The one who checked us in couldn't of done more for us in regards to helping us book local attractions, giving us an insight to the wonderful city and telling us how to avoid tourist traps. Beautifully clean and stylish rooms. Brilliant location to local tourist attractions and two friendly cats who made our vacation extra special!

We had a great stay at Clemens hotel. Small but cosy hotel, beautiful decorations, great breakfast, friendly stuff. Very close to the city center and most sightseeings.

Really nice staff! the rooms are compact but thats normal for europe. The location is perfect, and the room I stayed in had a wonderful view of the road and palace! I would come back here again if I were to come back to Amsterdam. OOOOOOoo also, there is a little cat that sleeps on the couch in the reception room (amazing)

Small rooms but excellent service. Everything is very clean and the balcony is nice. Good selection of breakfast items every day.

Very friendly staff — very hospitable, welcoming, accommodating. Steep stairs, which is usual in Amsterdam, and small room and tiny bathroom. The shower was good and hot though. Room 301 has a small, covered balcony. You can hear street noises, but, again, probably to be expected. Great location near centre, station, restaurants, etc. Clean, comfortable enough, good place for one night or to use as a base to explore the city.

We stayed at Clemens for 3 nights recently for our first trip to Amsterdam. Quaint little hotel in a great location. The staff go over & above to help you with any requirements. Yes the stairs can be daunting initially but it just adds to the ambience of the hotel. Definitely recommend staying there.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for my comfortable stay at the Hotel Clemens.
The hotel is a bargain considering how expensive Amsterdam is.
Centrally located and within walking distance to everything interesting.
The clerk who checked me on arrival was very considerate and insightful. Did everything to accommodate me on my arrival.
The clerk who checked me out impressed me the most with his kindness and respect. A young man with a good heart.
In sum, I was impressed how well I was treated by the staff and owner at the hotel, the central location, the breakfast, and especially the room rate.

Here now and can only say this hotel is a must. From booking, planning and upon arrival everyone here is so helpful, booking restaurants and giving directions. Came for 15th wedding anniversary and it's been made extra special by everyone here. A big thank you from Jakki and Duncan. Can't wait to continue the hospitality of all over the next few days x.

Daunting staircase but worth the climb. Comfortable bed, great shower, best breakfast on my 2 week trip.

As we arrived we received a warm welcome — they greeted us with drinks.
The staff was outstanding and helpful with the luggage all along — it has enormous stairs and no elevator, but is not bad.
We stayed for three nights in the hotel as part of our honeymoon (we were 2 couples), the hotel staff decorated the rooms with hearts
Breakfast high level and the staff are amazing, friendly, and very helpful especially with the service at the hotel's lobby.
Excellent hotel, location, rooms are small but just right for people who come to travel we will defiantly come back.
So, thank you for making our stay in Amsterdam so fantastic!
