Great location Ok room pretty small and do not be afraid of cats but considering the price of the night should not expect a 4 star! Breakfast very basic but it's already that. For the price I think we have not to ask more the rooms are clean the staff is friendly and if we choose this hotel is especially for its location at this rate should not dream of my side very satisfied.

Very close to the center, really comfortable for everything. Small room But nice with also the balcony, relatively large bathroom for a hotel, only flaw breakfast quite disappointing.

Found the hotel on website for $98/night and when I wanted to pay an make the reservation it went up to €111/night. I don’t recommend this hotel.

Room was terrible! Hole in the bathroom door, hairdryer and safe were both broken! Our window didn't close fully so we were kept awake by traffic all night. Found a rat poisoning box behind the radiator and two dead bed bugs in our bedding. We had 58 incredibly steep steps to climb to get to our room… Which with heavy suitcases was very hard. Breakfast was pretty shocking too! But On the plus side the staff were very nice and the location is great.

Excellent location throughout the center of Amsterdam the very basic facilities nothing of the other world I would recommend only to sleep if you go with lots of luggage I would not recommend it as the stairs are inclined and difficult but by location it is worth it 5 minutes from The places of interest.

Fatal. Carisimo for what it is. Actually the only good thing about it is the location. The window didn't close and we had a lot of cold at night, so much that I'm bad for it.
Breakfast was very nice. The dirty mattresses, the filthy bathroom. The TV almost fell, the carpet with cigarette butts had not been cleaned in years…
Those at the reception quite edges… Anyway. It was well worth the location.

Great location, a shame about the bed bugs as 5 on arrival but soon cleared and then more arrived with fresh linen so check before you use. Breakfast reasonable and staff friendly enough but what do you expect for a relatively cheap hotel.

I Bering in this hotel before ayear and I got. Good service but the room very small and not clean. And it's hard to get to your floor. It's good hotel only for get sleep and trip all day outside.

This gets a 1 star review due to its location only. I would avoid this hotel with a barge pole. Promised a double bed, 2 singles. Shower set off the smoke alarm and we received a phone call telling us to open up the window, maybe an extractor fan is required, that would prevent the mould. Bathroom flooded everyday meaning the bathroom below us was flooding. We received a phone call that it was made out we caused the flooding. Maybe if the plumbing wasn't from the 80s it would drain. The beds were unstable of you sat anywhere except the centre. And finally the breakfast did not cater to everyone, not having any fried goods does not cater to everyone. So overall 1 star due to the close location to the centre of Amsterdam. If you've taken the time to read my review then you know my recommendation is to avoid this hotel.

Care, cleaning conditions are extremely poor. After a two-night trip, I came home with bed bug bites and fleas on my arms and back. Better to avoid, there are many other options in the center of the city and although this is one of the most economical, it can never be at the expense of the health of its customers.

The positive. It's close to the hotel. You can get room with balcony and view at a good price. It was clean but it's a small thing. There is a fridge and the heating is good. The attention is good. Breakfast is fine. The bad are the almost 40 steep and narrow steps that are inevitable and finally the blog was small and the shower had no edge so it would get wet all over the bathroom.

Hotel in excellent location, close to everything. Basic but comfortable rooms, helpful staff. Breakfast OK.

Prefer to find another hotel! After 4 nights stay the purest horror… Heating was only partially working, bedding which was not clean, light switch for the bathroom was half broken out and in order to round it up still nicely there were also bed bugs… I'm going to have to fight with them at home too!

Very old simple hotel.
— Simple equipment without kettle hair dryer bro were capable, older bathroom no shower curtain bro were capable, simply glazed old windows-it pulls and the mold sprouts…
Room very small, condition rather ailing and heavily worn inventory, room ceiling broken and dirty, little space for luggage, staff was unfriendly and unmotivated (I do not know actually from Amsterdam)! The stay was incorrectly booked-but error was quickly fixed.
+ Super Central Long if you have no value on cleanliness, spacious rooms or friendliness bro were capable the location for the price is not to be topped!

I stayed at the hotel between 14th November 2017 and 15th November 2017. Please see below my comments; Positives; Location: Excellent location as very close to the main attractions along with Amsterdam Central Station. Anne Frank’s House – 10 Mins walk; Sex Museum – 12 mins walk; Van Gogh Museum and Amsterdam Sign – 22 min walk; Red Light District – 25 min walk Amsterdam Central Station – 20 mins walk Washing facilities: The shower in the room is extremely hot and does not loose temperature, while being extremely powerful, which is great for those who love a good steamy long shower; Heating: The room warms up very quickly and can be switched on easily by the thermostats on the radiator; Cleanliness: Before staying at the hotel I heard about bed bugs and all sorts. All I can say is that I have extremely sensitive skin and did not get bitten once, so if there was an issue before, then I am sure it has been resolved. Shopping: Below the hotel is an array of shops along with bicycle hire for those who wish to do a last minute souvenir shopping. If you are staying a while then I would advise shopping for the basics at a supermarket which is a 5 minute walk. Luggage storage; the hotel are very nice and allow you to store your luggage even once you have checked out, which is great if you have a late flight.

It's practical, it's close to everything. Clean and the workers are friendly.

Room was very small, bathroom was also small. There are about 45 steps to climb just to get to the first floor of rooms. No lift/elevator available to use. And the worst part, they had a serious bed bug problem. My friend and I are covered in bite marks, I even saw one of these bugs crawling around the room. Now my concern is if I brought them back with me in my luggage.

Mold, room smaller than on a boat cutter and totally overpriced.

Very bad experince, spider in bed or bed bug, a dirty smell that comes from outside (window) and especially the noise insuporlable as the rooms overlook the road, in short there is much better on Amsterdam seen the price… past your way,

Disgusting. Do not stay here. Bed bugs, room covered in dust, terrible beds, uncle bathroom. Stay one night then got a refund, receptionist didn't seem surprised as she's probably aware how vile it is.

This place is disgusting. They had to close several rooms because of the putrid smell that came out of the bathrooms on the second floor. They couldn't give us another room. The manager said he didn't want to cancel the reservation and that "he wasn't willing to make a full refund". We lost time and money, and we had to go out to look for another hotel. In any case, this hotel has really small bedrooms. The plumbing seems to be from at least a couple centuries ago. You have to climb several flights of very steep stairs and the manager was very rude. The rest of the staff was very apologetic. They charge you upfront, so you should check the room first before you pay anything. You'd be better off sleeping on the train station than in this dump.

In the room does not work the light in the bathroom and there are a million stairs steep, good location compared to the center in compensation!

The stairs are an attraction of Amsterdam in itself (sarcasm). Please install a lift or state clearly — people above 50 or overweight BE AWARE. Rooms were small and floor appeared to have never been vaccumed. Bathroom had no shower enclosure so there was mist and water everywhere. Fortunately the exhaust was working good to it dried overnight. Location is very good, close to a lot of attractions. Breakfast was okay, would be good to have more spread and meat options.

The Location was very good, close to the Palace, Anne Franks House. The View we had from the room was great with a view right down the canal. The TV had a good choice of channels and I liked the cat the hotel had, SO that is everything positive, on a negative, the Breakfast was abit grim just toast basically. The stairs were steep and small anyone with mobility issues would really struggle. It could have been cleaner. The shower had no mixer and was dated and a bit smelly, the road noise was really bad and the staff were miserable. Would not go again as it was fairly costly.

Location is great. Right near the Anne Frank Huis and Dam Square. My room had a nice view of the canal. Breakfast was basic but enough if you plan on trying all the local food during your day out. Old plumbing causes some challenges with odor.

The location is excellent. Some rooms have a balcony. I recommend using earplugs because the room is on the street and it is really bright. Bed too soft for my liking.

This hotel sucks. Rude staff, old rooms and stink (filthy), the bathroom is without heating, the power sockets dangling.
To access the rooms, there are narrow, dangerous spiral staircases.

Three star hotel, but comfortable and well cared for. 5 minutes from Dam Square, the most famous square in the heart of Amsterdam and 2 minutes from the Anne Frank House. Friendly and helpful staff. Built in the classic style of Amsterdam, with long stairways in height! Not suitable for disabled people!

Dirty, run down. This may not actually call the Hotel. We even had a mouse in the hallway.

Here you won't be disappointed! This hotel is decorated beautifully, especially the water Villa is simply beautiful! We just returned from Honeymoon holidays to come back, we really like Bora Bora and this beautiful hotel. Although it will be beyond your budget, but will come here now, to ensure you spend every penny is well worth it! We are through Custom Tahiti to book here in the room, the Stewart super good people! Our trip included in the IC Thalasso the morning and evening meals.

I gave it five stars because it's a clean and cozy bed so comfortable warm room amazing staff always helpful despite the two stars. Central location close to the Anne Frank House.

The room was very small and the bathroom was stinking. They provided us a room freshener. The stairs were very steep. But it was a night stay for us so it didn't matter that much. Breakfast was good. Its near to anne frank house.

Very steep stairs without elevator (hotel starts at 2nd floor and each floor equal 2 regular floors in hights), safe deposit box in the room was locked, no remote control for the TV, window doesn't lock and curtains doesn't close. The TV didn't have any English channels (scrambled). The staff didn't care!

You have to be in good shape to go up those stairs with a big case. The room was a bit dirty, fries under the bed. The windows dont close as it should, so you'll feel the cold wind invading the room, the TV had no remote and only one channel working, no hairdresser, don't expect any help by phone from the dull recepcionist. The only good thing is that it's located in the center.

My family and I loved it. I enjoyed sitting on the balcony during the continental breakfast, looking at the Church and palace. Centrally located, within walking or tram distance to everywhere. The room itself is just a room, don't expect a North American 5* room, but this added to the quaintness of the hotel. We stayed for four nights, and I would stay again.

The stairs may be difficult for some but for me it added to the charm. Excellent location close to the Frank Museum. Panorama Cafe nearby also has great food and service. The bathroom was very small, but everything worked fine and size was never an issue.
