The rooms are very comfortable, and nice, the air conditioning works very well and everything is spotless, The staff is excellent, … I recommend 100% hotel.

Beautiful setting, impeccable service and delicious breakfast on a huge patio. A stone's throw from the beach. Plus, every room has a porch with a hammock!

I am delighted with Hotel Barrio Latino, everything is super nice and its employees are very attentive and at the same time correct. The gardens are beautiful and the design of the Hotel is harmonious, ideal for a real rest.

This is such a cute little hotel. I stayed here for a night with my man and it’s really nice for a very reasonable price. Each room has a hammock on the patio as well. Best to have a Spanish speaker with you as when we checked in, the receptionist working didn’t speak any English.

Very nice and clean place and the best location it has just 3 blocks from the beach and very attentive when one arrives I highly recommend it.

The hotel is close to the main street and the Carmen beach. It's so nice to walk up early and walk to the beach waiting for the sun rise. There are very few parking lots for us so we can not get one. If you arrive the hotel at night, you might need to park your car blocks away. We have reserved a tour in Cozumel so it's a pitty that we can't join the breakfast. It's a nice and clean hotel but quite noisy at night because of the bars nearby. The manager is polite and a lock on the gate so he takes care the people coming in side.

Excellent relation price quality, very very well located since q is a "square" of the 5 Ave, have a breakfast service "courtesy" that is very good also… and that is not less than: offer free parking for guest if you're in a car, being q the place is very difficult to get parking place… congratulations! Would return without hesitation.

Nice, clean, very comfortable beds, very close to the 5th Avenue, and especially good price, highly recommended.

We stayed 4 nights and it is a problem when you arrive you come across. Q Do not have light and you have to go down Q to report and apart they have no TV and sometimes they take away the weather is not recommended.

Bare minimal, no TV, open to the air, hammock in front, small safe, small fridge, close walk (2min) to 5th avenue, close to all the good restaurants. Good hotel if you want to save money. They require $100 deposit per room at check in. Or you could just leave your ID with them. Have fun in playa del carmen.

I am sure the majority of people have a fine stay at Hotel Barrio Latino, however we did not. Hotel Barrio Latino was the most expensive place we booked on our trip to Mexico and also the only hotel that made us pay up front with the disclaimer 'no refunds' (probably should have been a red flag). We booked for a single night several months in advance. About a week before we were going to be staying there we decided we should have two nights in the area so we aren't as rushed and decided to book a transfer. We sent an email to request that an extra night was added to our original booking and to enquire about the pricing of the transfer. We received an email back advising of the transfer price (from Cancun airport return $110usd) and that to add an extra night we would need to make a new booking through the website. So I went to book through the website and I had trouble selecting the correct date we would like. After trying for some time I believed I had gotten it all locked in and paid for an extra night. As soon as I got the confirmation email I realised the website had elected that very night for us to be staying there instead of the night we wanted. At this time it was 10:41. I immediately sent an email requesting this be cancelled and credited to the correct night/cancelled and refunded so we could book the correct night. This was sent at 10:43. I did not get a reply that night or the next day.

Simple hotel, room plus bathroom, for the right price. Air conditioning and ceiling fan kept room cool. Friendly staff managing the gate and giving advice on shops, trips and tours. Room cleaned and breakfast every day. Away from resorts, close to the beach, old part of town, great restaurants (starting at affordable). Walking to tour operators, ADO and colectivo, banks, groceries. Internet was fast and reliable, on multiple devices. Safe and small refrigerator in-room.

Everything you need! The rooms are simple but have everything you need including a fridge. The nice sitting areas in front of each room are a bonus! The location is awesome, very close to the beach, strip, ferry and tons of great restaurants. We will return!

We were in January 2016 very quiet excellent cleanliness and helpfulness of the staff. Conveniently located steps away from the Centre but without the noise of the Fifth Avenue. Only a better breakfast missing to be perfect.

Great hotel, good breakfast with fresh juice and make home!

We were there in July 2015. The hotel is perfect: clean, room with a wide bed, air conditioning (necessary makes a lot of caloooor), safe deposit box, en-suite bathroom. Excellent location, 1 block from the main avenue and 1 block and a half from the beach, but its time to rest is barbaric because it is super quiet where the hotel is located, a lot of silence in order to sleep. In the surroundings there are a stack of places to eat, pharmacy, supermarket, etc, The staff and very friendly owners.

Hotel located 1 minute from Quinta Avenida, 2 minutes from the terminus of the Colectivo, 2 minutes from the beach.
In the morning a courtesy breakfast is served, spartan but enough to gorging before a long day of vacation.
We stayed in 6 friends for two weeks, in 3 double rooms on the ground floor. Each room has a hammock outside.
The staff is friendly and speaks Italian. Andrea, Stefano and Marco have helped us to explore the area with great advice on how to travel by public transport and organizing trips when necessary.
Great value for money.

I was there from 19th to 28th November 2012 and I have to say that I rarely found cleanliness, order, quality of service and welcome all together. Constant presence 24 hours at the reception security Index, Internet available and free calls via Skype from 8 to 20 on the fixed numbers. A great breakfast… you want more! At 200 Mt. From the sea and 100 from the fifth Avenida Heart of Playa del Carmen.
The owner Andrea and the Nice and helpful Mexican staff always make you feel at vs. Comfortable.
Go there without hesitation!

Even today when I meet people who have been to the Barrio at least once tell me that defiantly gladly. The "Barrio" is one of the places that made the history of Playa del Carmen.
