Our first time staying at the Royal Cancun and my, we loved it! Nice suites, the all inclusive is worth it. Kids had bottomless strawberry smoothies which was their highlight! The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of, the restaurant staff were great and super friendly — Arturo, Virginia, Miguel and Raul. We had fun kayaking and paddle boating — Carlos at the beach activities was great, he quickly got us comfortable and going with a short lesson for the kidos. Great place to stay!

My girls and I had so much fun here! Great entertainment. Nice room. Fun pool The only thing is some of the specialty restraints are disgusting. We went to the main cafe and found this to be the best option. Also I’ve stayed in 5 star resorts where they have full bottles of liquor in the room. They didn’t have that here and the bar was a hike away. we had a blast!

You'd never know this is one of the oldest resorts in Cancun. This place is so well maintained. Grounds are immaculate, the beach is clean and free of most seaweed and rocks. Very family friendly.

It's an old resort. Most of the staff were great but it only takes one bad… the location was not what I had expected. It's so far from shops and restaurants. Roberto and Jeremas are the best. Great service… thanks.

Very quiet and pleasant place, however something only for the season I went, which is not a problem, I recommend that the water in the shower is cleaned or the pipes purged because the smell of it was something unpleasant.

Great little resort! The beach is amazing! Sand is soft and the water is clear and not real deep. Perfect for families. All staff members are friendly and accomidating. I would definitely stay here again.

Good hotel, not expensive and despite having pier near the beach is not negligible, that without counting the pools.

Beautiful place, friendly staff except this rude, "don't wanna be bothered" employee at the front desk. Her name is Laura. She was making a reservation call to a restaurant for us and was laughing so hard over the phone and saying "Son chinitos". We are Korean American but do speak Spanish and chose at the moment not to create a scene. She did seem very surprised to hear us respond to her in Spanish. We called management and they told us they were very sorry for the inconvenience. The resort itself was fine besides this ignorant speaking hating her job ruined this vacation. This resort should definitely train their front desk employees and hire people who can be accepting of people of all colors and backgrounds.

Cozy and small, beautiful grounds, food was good in restaurants and room service but royal sands buffet was better. Super clean and spacious rooms. 2bath suite totally worth it if you have older kids. Ask for Carlos at the gym. I had 3 sessions of osteopathic manipulation and he fixed my numb arm, helped me work out and showed me proper sleeping position. I'm a heath care provider and he is legit, and cheap. Beware of seaweed in ocean, I'm on steroids now for severe skin reaction!

My stay was amazing. 100% will recommend to others. Price was a good deal. The villa is very nice and comes stocked with dishes, cups, silverware, pans, salt and pepper, etc. The decor is nice. The pools are amazing. Even not being in a beach front room the beach is very close. The staff are helpful. Overall it was an amazing experience.

A very nice resort located on a calm stretch of beach. It has a sort of old school charm that is great for families and people who just want to relax. The rooms are nice and clean. The property in general is clean. You always see grounds people doing something practically all day. The staff are very friendly and helpful too.

We did visit without staying there. The place is very clean. Very beautiful vegetation with flowers everywhere. The beach is on the other hand a little small and the people were a little too crowded to our liking.

Nice hotel. Location We touched the loudest room in the whole hotel. They are under construction and it was very annoying to rest there. We went to rest and at 8 am they were already bothering with noises. There was No need to assign that room so noisy. Disaster. I came back from my most tired vacation that I was. We should be rewarded X to have gone to a hotel in repair. I repeat the staff and the excellent attention. The food is Maso. The Italian Restaurant a disaster. Italian has nothing. It's called the lookout and you don't see anything towards the beach. It is all dark and it is impossible to see the beach or the sea so beautiful. That should modify or change the name of viewpoint and make Italian food haha.

Was surprised with the quality of this resort. The food and service was great for the most part. The rooms and facility is well maintained. I would’ve given 5 stars but I was not happy with the quality of the drinks, they tasted watered down and poor quality. Also had a shot of tequila that had a strange taste.

La Palapa, a restaurant at The Royal Cancun, serves great food all day long. It's right on the beach. There are a lot of nice gardens on the property. One of the pools has a swim up bar. My wife and I had a fantastic 1 week stay.

Surprising! The ideal place to stay with your family or with your partner, you will live a unique experience the service and the excellent attention!

We love it there is our second home the perfect spot for young children great ocean no waves good food great service.

Wonderful seafront view. C9n comfortable rooms spacious spaces a friendly service. Definitely an experience of another level.

Scenectofore for resting and de-stressing.

Cozy family hotel pretty much exactly like promo pics… just older. Formica kitchen and cheap but all new appliances. Cleanest place I have ever stayed and I lived in hotels for 5 years. Food is adequate but not great however better than most places in this area. Drinks are WEAK. You won't be getting drunk on all inclusive. Staff genuinely friendly. Of I go to Cancun again I'd stay here with kids.

The staff… AMAZING. Great layout being one of the first time shares in Cancun, no huge crowded hotel feelings AT ALL. Room was fantastic, clean, service was quick if you needed something (our cable went out) beach front dining, swim up pool bar, all food was delicious, and fresh, but not gourmet. Wheelchair accessibility brought the star down only bc getting to our room in the center building was difficult, you had to go around the building due to steps. But, they had a long concrete path to the first tables and loungers on the beach and that was one of the closest we found to the water (20 steps? ), great accessible feature, with table service. Water you could swim and splash in, no crazy waves clear. Seriously wonderful staff. Did I mention how good the staff was?

Excellent, we only spent the end of the year, but left us an excellent day, very clean, very good facilities, good atmosphere, the unmatched treatment, careful attention of the staff, always attentive to make your stay the best…

Smaller resort but friendly staff. The drinks are good. Food was ok but good enough. Large suites, and I liked going to the ping pong room. There are two large pools which are nice. Quiet beach with many water activities.

Great place to go with the family. I've been to many different hotels and resorts but this was one of the best for the family. The place is laid back and homey. We got a villa and the freedom of a large kitchen was amazing. The room service was excellent, make sure you try the chocolate cake, also the pizza was perfect. There was lots of fun activities for kids like finger painting and other games at the child care. For adults tennis pool and other activities. There was lots of good food options across the city and every meal was delightful. With the all inclusive plan you get unending drinks. But the bartenders were not the best at keeping servings equal.

This is a very nice place to vacation the Royal Cancun is clean and the staff and the food is Great. I would like to thank arturo the server his hospitality was outstanding. Special thanks to alicia the house keeper she was excellent and compassionate about the her in our needs. Greatly thank andres our tour host.

This place has been fantastic! Everyone from the bell hop, concierge, maids, servers, and restaurant employees have been so kind and helpful! The grounds are beautiful and extremely cared for. I got lost one evening and a kind employee personally walked me to where I needed to go… I personally believe in tipping! All inclusive employees are supposed to get a percentage, but I always tip anyway. That's how they live… My husband and I will definitely return here when coming back to Cancun! Unfortunately, we had heavy rains for most days during our week here, but we thoughouly enjoyed our stay! Oh, and the food was fabulous too! If you left a meal hungry, it was your own fault… every meal we we're catered to in every way! Highly recommend the Royal Cancun! Denise and Dave Posner, Maryland, USA.

Lovely hotel ever so slightly out-dated. Staff are super friendly and helpful. House keeping second to none.

Had an amazing vacation there. Food was great, service in every instance waa friendly and helpful. Go see the guy with paddleboarda and kayaks, and get a professional photo with exotic birds or reptiles. Fun all around.

Great place to go with the family. Lots of fun activities, great food options across the city. We really enjoyed the room service.

Smaller low rise resort with a clam beach. This resort is older but well taken care of. It is located away from the large high rise resorts that have beaches with bigger surf. It is very quiet and relaxing here, I would say serene. If you are a senior citizen, or travelling with toddlers you will appreciate the calm ocean water. If you're looking for excitement the nightclubs are a short bus ride away. If you are looking for a party resort with loud music this is not your place.

Great customer service and a very nice smaller resort. Very clean and well maintained grounds. The beach is great for small children as it is very shallow. The staff here is very active and keeps up with all of your needs and wants. Would love to return for another vacation.

This resort is absolutely Amazing! One of the most relaxing experiences of my life. There was a lot of activities taking place and during the process I unfortunately lost a pair of very high end sunglasses! I figured well, that's the last time I'll see those! Well, not the case! Somebody turned them in and the staff knew they were mine. Places them into an envelope and put our info on it so we could pick them up when we returned. The next day I left my phone by the pool! Figured well, this is it… again, the staff was quick to label and return it. The service was top notch and the amenities were beautiful and well maintained. You could see the professionalism and pride in all of the employees. Great experience. Highly recommend this resort! A+++

The hotel is located on the 5th kilometer of the Kukulkan Boulevard in the hotels area. From the airport to the hotel drive 25 minutes. Upon check-in, a deposit is taken and returned after discharge. You can leave cash in dollars. We left $200 a day. I was very surprised that there is no toilet on the first floor in the reception area! Due to the fact that the opposite is the island of women (Isla Mujeres) Here is always calm quiet sea. Nearby there is a jetty, where ferries depart to Isla Mujeres. We stayed at the Master Villa. It is a duplex villa with two bathrooms, kitchen, living room and beautiful ocean views. 6 people can be accommodated without a cramp. In addition to the 2 bedrooms in the living room there is a sofa and a folding bed. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need, but there is no water cooler. There is free Wi-Fi in the room. Air temperature of air conditioners is regulated individually for each bedroom. I recommend this hotel.

I loved it here, all of us did. The service was terrific. I felt a great respect for everyone working here at the Royal Cancun. We were treated spectacularly. Thank you for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful hotel, great rooms, very family friendly, great beach area, very little waves which is great for little ones, great service. I wish I didnt have to say it, but really terrible food. Stay on the grounds, turn down all inclusive abd eat elsewhere.

Overall the Royal Cancun resort is a really nice resort. Pros: The price is great for what you get. The size of the resort is perfect for families, it’s not so big that you can’t keep track of your kids, but not so small that you feel over crowded. The location I think was perfect. It’s far enough out of the main hotel zone that you aren’t over crowded in the hotel or at the pools. We always were able to find a spot with shade and plenty of chairs, at both pools and on the beach. The food is wonderful! There are only a few restaurants, but the main one with the buffet always had a large number of options and had a few specials nights with lobster, shrimp, kabobs, etc. The bar food is great also, and room service was also really very tasty. There is a free shuttle to the sister hotel so you can go exploring more of the busy hotel district and market areas. The pool at the sister hotel is really beautiful, but there didn’t appear to be as many options for shade, and it was definitely a lot more crowded. There is also a market on site that has somewhat reasonable prices for food items as well as toiletries. We only used the maid service once, but she did an amazing job cleaning and getting rid of all the sand we managed to track into the room. We weren’t bothered at all for timeshares or sales while we were there. Cons: The noise level at night is pretty high if you’re a light sleeper.

Wow, this should be a one star hotel — not even the piddly 3 star they brag about. Checking in was a nightmare. I don't care what every employee says — you do not advertise as a timeshare and that is false advertisement. As a time share resort, everyone else basically takes last priority which is NOT the experience you want when you go to Cancun. The service is mediocre at best. Every one at the front desk was bitchy and inconsiderate. I even had to say to the one guy: "this is not the service someone expects when they pay thousands of dollars to vacation with you. I expect you to assure me that you will do your best and do everything you can. " Instead he would tell me "there's nothing I can do. " Oh really? Well then this place will be out of business before you know it. The Royal Cancun tries to compete with other beautiful resorts in Cancun, but unfortunately with the poor customer service and lack of overall friendliness of the staff the will never make it. They've made me question ever coming back to Cancun, let alone staying with them again.

We stayed last December for 21days at The Royal Cancun and Royal Hacienda. Excellent food, best costumer service, best beaches. My coffee in the morning at restaurant on the beach and the perfect view was magical. Best time ever. Grate hardworking people — Thank you!

Hotel is dated… it is but the only thing that was impeccable is service! Such a great group of people work there… I'm impressed! No lines, no waiting they are all go, go, go…! Bad thing is because they made you change the room… That sucks and that's why they can't have five stars ever! But they upgraded our room… at least something… They're not cleaning sun beds and tables at the beach. Wifi is bad. Food is good, Italian restaurant serve perfect food and also if you go at The Royal Sands you can enjoy great Mexican restaurant there… Overall the only thing that could makes me go back is a perfect service.

Fantastic Resort, The water is calm in a bay, They have a kids pool and an Adult pool with Swim up Bar. The room was fantastic and the service was exceptional. We met great people from all over the United States. They have a shuttle that runs between The royal sands and the royal cancun. If you are looking to be closer to nightlife and the mall you want to stay at the royal sands. If you are looking for a quiet, homey feeling stay at the Royal Cancun. Best Service we have ever had for all inclusive. The sales person for the time shares was not pushy at all when we told him we were not interested. There are several off premise restaurants that are included in the all inclusive. Generally that beverages are not so good and the food is nothing to be desired but I give this food 4 stars, the service you get brings you to a 5. This was the most pampered plush experience we have had at an all inclusive and we have had several over our 20 years of marriage. Pool Service, Beach Service, Room Service, AAA+++++. You will not be disappointed. I don't have any negative feedback to give due to an absolutely perfect experience. Thank you Royal Resorts. We stayed from Dec. 13 — Dec. 20th, 2014.
