With the location being really close to the Akihabara station and both the staff and the rooms being really nice, the Akihabara Washington Hotel deserves 5 stars! At the breakfast, they had food both for japanese people and international guests, and took good care of the customers. I even had quite the view out of our small but comfortable room, so my stay was really enjoyable!

Overall: would consider staying here again if back in Tokyo. Mainly for breakfast and location: + Breakfast buffet was the best — — variety of food both for Western and Japanese/Asian pallets AND delicious vegetarian options. + Location — steps from the station, loads of restaurants, cafes and interesting shops within walking distance. + Clean. Heated toilets (of course). Friendly staff, but some trouble communicating (English) at times depending on who's on. — The twin and double rooms are smaller than expected. Not a lot of space to move around. Just fits the furniture with about 1.5 — 2 ft wide maneuvering space. — There was a mix up with our reservations which could have been communicated better between staff shifts. But the upside was they did compensate with complimentary breakfast vouchers.

Excellent location a stones throw from the Akihabara metro. Nice, quiet, clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. The only negative was the internet was very weak, below 1 MB/s, in the evenings and during the night, making it nearly impossible to do anything online.

The location is the best in Akihabara, hands down. Also, it looks great on the outside unlike some other hotels that are located in shadier places. The room was clean and adequate. However, the room is not great compared to other hotels such as APA Hotel. I don't work for APA hotel but their room quality is higher than this hotel. The bed is softer, cushier, and more comfortable. The TV in APA is very big compared to this hotel's microwave sized TV. I was very disappointed. When I first came to this hotel room, I thought the bed was the hardest bed I've ever been on. Not great. The room and bathroom are clean and quiet, so I suppose it does get the job done if you are traveling alone.

Good hotel, the service is good, for the smoking rooms do not expect windows to open, goes with a sort of aspiration in window, the room is small, what you pay is the area, if you are geek and you're going to kick Akihabara is worth.

The hotel is well placed, the rooms are well insulated and the quality bedding. On the other hand, the rooms are still small… that being said, it's Tokyo, and the value for money is pretty decent. Good breakfast.

Right next to the Akihabara district for video games, electronic stores and manga/amine heaven for some! Also next to a train station which makes getting around easy. The room was small but comfortable, with everything we needed. Breakfast was provided and includes enough choices to keep European stomachs satisfied! Staff were friendly and polite.

Tiny rooms typical of a 'business' hotel in Tokyo. Most clients are local so don't expect much help in terms of English speaking staff or tourist help. Hotel is fantastic for proximity to Akihabara Station, and you are on the quiet side of the station which has it's good points and bad points. Akihabara isn't central to most tourists sites, so travelling around Tokyo though convenient, is still a pain.

Very good value for money the situation is great. The rooms a little small but it is normal. Recommended.

It has a pretty good location due to it just opposite you have the train station and you can move without problem, the room is small, but to sleep, shower and leave the things you buy, or have you leftover, the service all perfect.

Decently sized and clean. Just beside Akihabara train station so its location is very convenient.

Room space is not big but quite clean, there will be no subway or around the noise. Very close to JR Akihabara Station, it is also very convenient to eat as well as shop or transfer to other attractions. Hotel Service staff can speak English, basic services are also quite in place.

Room was clean and hotel has an amazing location. Right next to the JR line and next to the Tokyo city subway. Has a Denny's in the same building so great breakfast too. Great place.

Great hotel for a decent sized budget. Small rooms but clean and quiet. What you loose in room size and higher prices is made back by the saving in transit and being able to walk to do most of "modern Japan" shopping amd entertainment paradise.

Location is just next to the train station, with confidence stall n a shopping center nearby. Staff are friendly, able to help you book day tour, if you give them the contact. Room are a little small, with a small sofa inside. Appreciate they have warm toilet seats n they have almost instant warm water.

The hotel is clean and right across from the Akihabara train station. The room is clean, and quiet. Wish there were more amenities. Also, I wouldn't pay for the breakfast again (around $15), there are many breakfast places nearby for coffee — Starbucks is across the street and morning treats.

The hotel was very simple and no frills. As a business hotel, it offers a place to sleep and shower with little other amenities. The room was comfortable and clean. Location was extremely convenient to Akihabara JR Station, Tsukuba Express Line, and several other rail lines. It isn't as convenient as a location near Tokyo or Shinjuku stations, however hotels of this type are further away or more expensive.

Great rooms and views with attentive staff and gratuitous in-room amenities. This is also the only hotel in Japan that we have stayed in that has sheets on the beds instead of just comforters. Reception is on the 3rd floor and the staff does not speak much English, but they went out of their way to translate for us and understand us as best as possible. The free Wi-Fi is serviceable, but don't expect to watch much Netflix or YouTube on it.

Great Hotel at 2 or less minutes of Akihabara. I stayed for the komiket and the experience was so confortable. A little expensive.

We are now the second time in this hotel and so far we have not been disappointed. Here you need your room card to be able to take the elevator to its floor. If you lose it or forget it in your room, you can ask for a new or replacement card at the reception. At the end of the stay you have to put all the cards in a machine, a card should be missing you have to pay 1000 yen.

Next to Akihabara Station. Extremely easy to find and stay. Not a big room but knowing the Tokyo standard, easy and comfortable stay.

Stayed for 5 nights and found the room very clean and modern. Reasonable pricing with excellent service from staff and a fantastic location, just across the road from Akihabara station.

The hotel has a easy to find location out of the Akihabara JR Station's central gate and to the right. The hotel has a clean well designed entrance way. The lobby is on the 3rd floor. After checking in you don't need to go through the lobby till.

Great staff. Clean rooms. We are in the smaller set of rooms, but they are not as small as other reviewers indicate. Enough to move around and get ready. Breakfast is ok, probably would pass next time, although very convenient. Great location!

Out of the subway can see, eight friends to go for a few minutes, shopping is very convenient. Service is also very good, asking for directions can be very patient to answer. On the room's requirements are met. Room is a little small, but Japan hotel problems.

Friendly staff who can speak some to pretty good English. Welcoming to tourists. Nice, clean rooms (they are small, but I was expecting that). Akihabara Station is extremely close (you can see the entrance from the front of the hotel), so it's easy to get around to other parts of Tokyo quickly. In terms of exploring Akihabara itself, every place I went to (convenience stores, restaurants, arcades, "otaku" type stores) was within walking distance. It's nearby some of the main strips. I definitely recommend it. (Stayed in November 2015)

Perfect location, modern hotel, just one problem, the rooms are small but thats usual for Tokyo, Wi-Fi available, jr station in front of you, great seafood restaurant next to you, ueno park 2 stations away perfect for hanabi cherry blossom viewing, you can take a boat in the lake, and a station away from asakusa for great cultural shopping. All in all makes for a great first day in Tokyo, after that you can take the jr to further locations. Happy travels :) Note: if you are a smoker make sure to take the smoking room cause smoking in prohibited even in the streets.

Good value hotel with close proximity to train stations. Rooms are very small, but for a budget traveler they are perfect.

Good for short business trips. Rooms are small but equipped with Wi-Fi. Staff, location and access to subway fantastic.

Fantastically rebuilt and is in a prime location for any Akihabara fan.
