Booked a ticket the night before, which offers access to the museum and the baptistery also. Great if you are too late to book a time for the dome, and gives pretty comparable views to the dome. I personally preferred it as you could get city view pictures with the dome in it. It’s a lot of steps, however, so not recommended for those with chronic pain or other conditions that prevent activity. Lineup for the tower is also very little.

Very nice staff, large rooms, location simply great — two minutes to the dom, fresh crossaints for breakfest. We will come back!

Very bad experience with security today at about 2pm. Someone was throwing glass from one of the higher floors down into the tower. I explained this to one of the guards at the bottom who just kept saying "which floor", so I said the one with the grate to allow you to throw glass into the tower (only one floor has grating. He kept saying "which floor". I showed him a picture of a grate on my phone, but he just kept asking which floor. I kept saying the only one with a grate. I didn't count the floors as I went up and I certainly didn't give them a number as I passed them so I had no idea what to say. Think he basically didn't want to do his job, because he understood perfectly.

Great view of Florence. I would recommend arriving early as you may run into others going the opposite way on the stair case. It's a long way up bring water and a nice camera.

The steep narrow staircase inside the bell tower will not let you get bored. From the top of the tower there are amazing views.

Amazing craftsmanship. Unbelievable when you see how huge the church is, and realize they had no power tools or equipment at that time. All work by hand, and archetectual design. No metal superstructure holding it all together. The different color stone also adds to the beauty. The bronze door across from the main cathedral entrance is so detailed. The entire complex shows how amazing is man when he needs to be.

Very friendly staff, great location, extremely clean and great value for money. Breakfast was limited to sweet foods so not much for us to choose from.

The entrance costs 18 euros, the view is weak, climb long. Much better view opens from the site of Michelangelo. For 18 euros It is better to climb the Leaning tower.

Dizzy ascent and a view at 360 on Florence.

Compared to the dome, access is not limited to any number of people here. On top There is a spectacular view but you will be like inside a cage view the whole net to protection. Going in the morning by 10 I did not find tail, which instead was kilometric already around 11.

Covered with multi colored marbles, this architectural masterpiece built during the Renaissance era, offers the best views of Florence from its roof terrace, accessible only by stairs, difficult and narrow climb, not recommended for disabled or physically unfit people! less crowded than the Duomo, the experience is worth the hard climb!

It's a unique masterpiece. He deserves all the waiting in the world. As you climb you can enjoy a unique view and it is not so difficult to climb, (except some sections and the final part). At the top you can see all of Florence and the hills that surround it. I went under the Easter holidays, Cost: package of €18 with Bell tower, Dome and baptistery.

Passionate about photography I got in line, in the sun, and after waiting for about twenty minutes I made the ticket and I started the climb. I must say that the climb I made it without much effort apart from the last piece that was difficult. The view as the saliva was really beautiful. Unfortunately, for security reasons, the perimeter is surrounded by a dense network that prevents you from taking pictures of those who like me were armed by traditional camera. Anyway I have to say what a good experience.

417 steps deserve the hassle for the breathtaking view once at the top. It would be better to manage the people who go up and down with shifts to prevent the streams from crossing. It's a very good place for u to get a whole city view of beautiful Florence, just remembered to skip the middle floor and directly go to the top floor. The view is incredible! If u visit here in winter, there's a cold warning: u should wear gloves, scarf and every other things to keep warm, cos it's literally freaking cold on the top!

We waited for almost 2 hours and almost missed our reservation to climb to the top of the Dome. The wait was extremely long and the climb wasn't the best. The staircases are very narrow and steep and the climb is slowed down immensely because of people doing both ways. The worst part was when we got to the top and found out the view is obstructed by a cage (the Dome doesn't have a cage though! ).

Beautiful belfry in the central square of Florence. As soon as you arrive in the city you can not help but pass and see one of the historical masterpieces made by the great artist. Absolutely recommended. From there then you can move to Ponte Vecchio.

The legend tells that it is Giotto himself who appears portrayed as a pastor with his faithful dog in one of the marble forms on the first floor of the west wall of the Campanile.
The original shapes and sculptures are located inside the Dell'Opera Museum of the Duomo and are a real marvel of the transition to the Renaissance!

Absolutely stunning view from the top. I must say though, that I would not recommend going with smaller children, as there are a lot of very steep steps. They are very exhausting, even for some adults. But despite that, I absolutely love this place. The all in one ticket for 15 Euros is definitely worth it.

A must for those who go to Florence a bit ' hard to do about 400 steps because as you climb becomes more and more narrow the passage but still is rewarded once you get to the top. About 90 meters high from which we witness a spectacular view to say the least about a city that is equally.

It is worth visiting and so admire Florence from the top. Little ordered the transit on a mini stairs up and down many people.

The climb maybe is the least fun part! But in 10min (but you can take it more calmly and breathe! ) of steps, about 400, you will arrive on the top of the belfry and all the effort is rewarded!
Only drawback the hallways to climb are a bit cramped so you might have to literally hug the wall to let the other people up/down!
Singular also the view from the top of the terrace, just before the ascent to the apex of the belfry, the bottom of the belfry, definitely not suitable for those who suffer from vertigo!

Haughty Belfry Tower. Wonderful campanile. Compete in beauty with the best campanile in the world. You have to go up if you arrive during visiting hours.

To climb the bell tower, however, admission must be paid, but a fixed reservation of the time is not necessary or possible. Admission is possible via the combined ticket "Il grande Museo del Duomo", for a reasonable price. I recommend a visit from approx. 16:00 pm, since then no longer so overflowing and the waiting time is also in limits. The steps up to the lookout Terrace are quickly made and then the view is enjoyed.
Access is permitted with backpacks of "normal" size (wardrobe not available).
For me, the "Firenzecard" was a worthwhile investment. With this card I have a separate cashier (to solve the ticket and especially in the high season advantageous, as preferential treatment) and also financially, this has been calculated for the validity period of 72 hours. Regardless of the Firenzecard, I had no pre-reservations (visit in the middle of December). If you are interested in the museums of Florence, be sure to visit in December or Recommended outside the main season.

This area is truly surreal, the detail of the bell tower and duomo is astounding. We spent hours in this area taking in the views and the restaurants. The 400+ steps to the top is more than worth the effort. The views of the city are amazing.

Not worth it. I waited in a long line and found out at the top that there was a cage around the top. I could not take good photos. I recommend the Brunelleschi dome instead which does not have any obstructions of the view. The walk is easier than the dome as the steps are more consistent and none of them are steep. There are also three floors to stop and look out and breathe. But there is also metal obstructing the view. There is only one way up and down, so it is hard to get past people going the other direction on the narrow stair steps.

A beautiful view of the wonderful city. Good foot warm-up, about 500 steps. There's no elevator!

Love the view! Giotto's bell tower is one of the four principal monuments on the Piazza del Duomo. 84.7 metres tall and approximately 15 metres in breadth, it is the most eloquent example of 14th century Gothic architecture in Florence, combining a strong vertical thrust with the principle of sound solidity, its corner buttresses rising the full length of the tower to the projecting terrace at the top. Clad in white, red and green marble like the cathedral adjacent to it, the majestic square bell tower, considered to be the most beautiful campanile in Italyand probably designed more for decorative than for functional purposes, was begun by Giotto in 1334. By the time Giotto died in 1337 he had completed only the first part of his bell tower, up to the hexagonal panels which form a kind of figurative narrative carved by Andrea Pisano to Giotto's design, and to the reliefs (formerly on a blue ground) by Andrea Pisano and Luca della Robbia. Andrea Pisano carried Giotto's design up to the first two levels, while artists such as Alberto Arnaldi adorned the outside with carved lozenges. The rich decorative apparatus comprising hexagonal panels and lozenges embodies the concept of Universal Order and tells the story of the Redemption of Mankind.

It is worth it and a lot to climb the 414 steps and enjoy the fabulous views of Florence from the cuspide of this belfry. If you must choose for some strange reason between going up the bell tower or the dome of the Duomo choose the belfry because from it you see the entire Duomo and not the other way around.

Great view, definitely worth it. But nothing for people with space anxiety and people who don't like climbing stairs.

The tower is a must to visit. It is pretty high but the dome is higher. The veiw is facinating but the price to pay is around 414 stairs, which can be little bit rough. Assasins creed players must visit.

Superb view and easily replaces the view of Dome Dome if it is no longer possible to reserve access.

The price is €15 euros but that's a combination ticket that allows entry to the tower and baptistery and crypt in the cathedral and museum of the cathedral and the dome end of the cathedral (but that needs to be booked for a time slot)

Take your breath away… figuratively and literally! :P but the spectacular view that you have once at the top pays off the fatigue! Crazy to think of what wonderful and so sophisticated artistic things were capable of our ancestors and with the limited means they had available! In a single word of the genes.

If you are in Florence for a few days, you should definitely also climb Giotto's bell tower. The effort is worthwhile, because the building is impressive and the view definitely compensates for climbing stairs.

There's often a long wait and the 414 steps to the top is tough with the narrow staircase providing two way traffic but it is an exceptional structure considering its era. And the view from the top is magic!

Over 400 steps for a completely closely barred view. If you want to go to the dome, you can save the tower. The dome is higher and has no bars in front of it. The view is free.

The view is superb, you have to have a little physical condition to climb up to the top.

Fantastic view, hard walk to the top, I would recommend to skip the gym after. The stairway up is very slim, it can be hard to pass people and some times it goes to a stand still because of the people going up and down at the same time. There is no need to make an reservation for the bell tower.

It's simply stunning, you must see this in the day time & night, photo's just doesn't do justice to how beautiful this building is. I was luck enough to be staying close by and saw it at different times of the day, and it always surprised when the light changes how different and beautiful it looked.

If you have not got serious heart or motion problems, do not skip this. I was amazed about those stunning Tuscan views. The Basilica looks amazing as well. Of course, the climb is quite tiring, the steeps are narrow, but there are stops. I was there early in the morning, almost just after the opening, so I met fewer people on the stairs. However, I saw what was happening in midday — believe me, it is really better to go as early as possible. But no mater everything, it is very worth. From mid-June.

The number of steps does not make the route.
Tortuous, at certain times cramped, but extremely rewarding.
The first trait is the most challenging. Hurry can be really bad counselor.
The other narrower passages are shorter.

Splendid from any point of view. Although I had been several times in Florence, I had never climbed to the top of the bell tower. It was a great experience.
Get ready for over 400 steps, I assure you that fatigue will make you feel halfway… The staircase is double-way unfortunately (they could organize times when you climb and times when you descend) and it is very narrow. However, the fantastic view of the city of Florence and the surrounding hills will repay your sacrifices.
Only sore note, the use of applique for the light from supermarket instead of made to measure and valuable. Really an insult to Giotto.

All very good, starting from the welcome, the rooms really nice and clean. Really friendly and helpful to every request. Located in a ' strategic ' point in 4 minutes from the Cathedral, in a maximum of 8 minutes you arrive to ponte vecchio, Uffizi Gallery and pitti Palace.

A great hotel is a family-run clean friendly staff. Superbly located 5-10 minutes walk to all attractions. The only drawback is the lack of an elevator. But in a historic building, it is not possible.

Amazing diamond in the ruff. In the heart of the city and at a fraction of the cost. It's a historical home. Great location at a great value.
