Stayed here for 3 nights was a bit worried because of the shite reviews on trip advisor. But my worries were unfounded, on arrival staff were both pleasant and helpful the lady that was on reception and the night man on reception went out of their way to tell us the good places to go and where to get the best value for money, the rooms were spotless piping hot water in the shower and sink the shower curtain works as the bathroom didn't get flooded, beds comfy bedding spotless the building is in keeping with the area, would stay here again without question.

Completely unhappy to say the least with our stay here. The photos are NOT a true representation of the rooms. The room we stayed in was very small and Very basic with the “double bed” being two camping beds pushed together. Not only this but every night that we spent here we were woken up at 2am, 3am etc. Due to people shouting and arguing in the hallways. The “hotel” is not in my opinion a hotel, more like a hostel at best. We are completely dissatisfied with our stay here and would urge people not to book with Hotel Philia as it has ruined our experience of Rome.

A hotel with only the bare necessities. Located in Termini area, it is located in a six-story building shared by two other hotels. There is no hair dryer in the bathroom, while you can not open the curtains (at least in the room I was in). Otherwise great for one night.

This hotel has many names : hotel stargate and hotel Ventura. Will never go there again.

The breakfast had no plates, the food is cheap, but what else can you expect from an average hotel.

The Hotel Philia is bad, it has rooms with very small bathrooms where you can't do anything, has a staff that teases you and steals your money saying you have dulard all over the hotel (for summary). It has an elevator where you can only go in 2 no more no less. Also it is so dirty that you have found a small dish inside the bathroom. The only advantage is the location. I don't recommend it to anyone.

The ideal place to spoil your holiday in such a beautiful city.

Really horrible other than three star and that there is no 0 star hotel, as hotel should chidere, there are cracks on the wall the room is very dirty, the bathroom claustrophobic the handle and broken, there are no keys. The bathroom itself is not standard and really unsanitary. And then I repeat the cracks on the wall. Once flushed, the toilet was flooded due to a leak. We found the rooms filthy (with hairs and hairstyles). The phone didn't work, the rooms and the dining room have bad smells. At the entrance there are always some rubbish bags. Staff.

Because of internet connection. It was terrible. Except Wi-Fi everything was normal. Room was clean and hostel location perfect. You can go whatever u want in city centre.

Unworthy of a hotel. Service 0. No communication. Awful breakfast. Room not made at 2pm. WI-FI on demand for every hour and only works once in two. Elevator's not working. We spend the stay to say we had only to not take a cheap hotel until we were taxed at the exit to pay the tax of I do not know what. To avoid.

It is the worst hotel I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. It should be condemned. The staff have attitude, no people skills. It's an appointment block with some of the apartments used as a hotel. At least 3 hotels in the same building. Only one hour free Wi-Fi per stay. One star is way to much. We even have swoage leaking onto the bathroom from the toilet.

Rooms were in bad condition, room door wasn't fully working, got stuck in the elevator, fridge in the room barely kept beverages cold, very noisy (near to a bigger street), lots of garbage and rats in front of the hotel.

There is 1 hour of free Wi-Fi daily which barely functions, for unlimited you have to pay aditional 4€. Breakfast is good as long as you come early because they dont refill the meat. Rooms are clean and staff is nice but rooms on floor 5 and 6 did not have hot water for a day and a half. I am giving them 2 star rating because it's below 3 star hotels even in Serbia.

Cozy voucher for 3-4 days maximum.

Terrible design, mid july with air conditioning our of order and water not running but dripping. Officially, a 3-star hotel is much below standard.

Arriving at the hotel, and after 15min to look for our room, the person from the reception gives us a room key and surprise by opening the door, the room was already occupied…
Back at the reception, we are given another key which this time brings us well on a triple room as requested but: smell of sewer when arriving, the quality of the bathroom leaves really to be desired (the shower of the same not 1m2 especially and not very clean), no air conditioning in the room; Then we quickly realize that the Wi-Fi is absolutely not working.

Old, not clean at all. Hotel chef very unfriendly, the other stuff friendly. Breakfast isn't really good, just the coffe. Rooms are okay, but there are lots of problems in the bathroom. Like the shower. The Location ist in near Of the Termini, but the streets near the hotel are messed.

This hotel is in an old building which creates a nice atmosphere rooms are clean and comfortable Staff are friendly and very helpfull.

Great service, lovely staff and spectacular rooms. Hotel Philia gives you an atmosphere of familiarity and serenity that few hotels can give. When I return to Rome I will definitely stay again at the beautiful Philia hotel.

Central location, but a mousetrap. The Advisory did not work, windows looked toward the other rooms, stained old sheets, charge you for using the air conditioning and Wi-Fi, very bad experience do not recommend.

I spent 3 nights in August and it has been a vey nice experience. They are very nice and helpful, the rooms are been recently renovated, it's close to Termini Station. I advice it.

Very centrally located hotel, situated just a few metres from Termini station, perfect for young people who want to live the estate romana and all its events.
We stayed at the Philia for 4 days, went down from Livorno myself and other 2 friends to the concert of Nutini; return to the hotel even late at night was not a problem as the Nocturne (bus) dropped us at the doorstep and the Concierge was helpful and courteous. Our room was a triple, very large, spacious and clean with TV and satellite tv, comfortable beds and despite the balcony overlooked the street did not feel casino. Good breakfast and friendly staff. I recommend it.

4 day stay, 3 no hot water and warm even in the bathroom of room, I discussed this and I get this answer "because we put solar panels and sometimes empty the boiler, it is necessary to wait a little bit that you top". Not to mention the waste of water in these expectations/attempts from their suggestions.
Then, leaving the night I asked kindly to staff (reception) and subsequently also the servants not to be disturbed, so not cleaning the room and for three days I was awakened by servants who asked if I wanted to. On the third I had to hang a sign outside (not supplied by the hotel) where wondered not to be disturbed. O_o '
The staff is polite and friendly, the hotel is nice and clean, a great dislocation, other times I was fine, but the latter failure is unacceptable even in the worst of the Inns 3 star let alone a cheaper.

Very unhappy with this hotel, the room was dirty, macabre, worthy of ine pigsty toilets, lacked a door has a wardrobe, a wooden board was in the bathroom with 2 nails in the view of the public, the television did not work, a genuine disaster as well as in addition to this hotel screwed me 2 euros more on the price agreed in advance (excluding city tax). Really shameful and too expensive. Not at all recommended.

Hotel not worth half a star, dingy room and full of mosquitoes living and dead smashed in face the wall, bathroom that smelled and the hot water was not there, I had to wash in the morning with cold water. Exaggerated price for a 2 star hotel of that level and finally they released not even the Bill because when I left the room early in the morning and the reception was still closed. There I shall return.

That hapened in october 2010. I have just been on a tour of Rome with a group of Romanian pensioners and due to the world economic crisis. Our budget was a minimal looking our status. We all eleven persons, have only good words take in consideration our choice. Living conditions for us was the best for our choice. Hotel is clean offering good conditions and a good price. If personal I will be in future in situation to turn back in Rome, that’s 100% sure will be same choice. Situated in center of Rome city and offering a lot of possibilities, explain my choice. Rooms including shower, warm water. Was that we have expected and more.
