One of the most beautiful squares I have seen in my life. The combination of water with the statues and the oval shape of the piazza is very unique and nemorable. It is also surrounded by some beautiful buildings, among them the impressive Basilica of St. Giustina. Avoid visiting during the flea market though, the square loses its serenity and beauty with all the tents and the street merchants around.

The largest square in Europe. Don't visit Padova without seeing this place. You can also buy some street food as you make your way there. The crêpes and waffles are amazing. Beautiful and serene place to have a picnic.

Beautiful in the center of Padua. On Saturdays hosts the city market and on Sundays a second-hand marketplace. It is well-connected by public transport: 2 tram stops and 5 bus stops (several pass). Great choice to take a walk or just pass by to go downtown. Also nearby are great restaurants.

Were here during the local carnival. Before that, they examined the area on which the statues of outstanding people were installed.

To the impact this place does not seem the best, but I assure you it deserves we start: from my sources it seems to be the largest (square) of Europe visibly to an oval shape as the city contour the road then an oval canal surrounded by many statues, and in the middle of a forest Secular trees the place is very quiet tried, on Saturday finally there is the nice market to see and useful to buy many things. A high thing that was few know, that occasionally empty the channel from the water and magically in the background sprout Roman ruins.

Great historic square with a nice park with fountain in the center. If you want to visit the city of Padua you can not not go to see the largest square in Europe, and one of the largest in the world. On Saturday morning you can find the market located all in the back to the square. This one is surrounded by the road and looking at it from the top (Google Map) seems almost a motor circuit. There is a channel separating the area of the Green Meadow, which also revolves around the square.

Today we can observe, however, only 78 statues with 8 pedestals surmounted by obelisks and 2 empty.
Four avenues cross the meadow on small bridges and then meet in the middle of the islet.

Beautiful quiet city, to rest and use as a point to visit other nearby cities.

The grounds are relatively wide and the paths well laid out. A fountain with a large water basin gives a welcome change to the large lawns, which are dominant here. Close to one of the adjacent houses there is a well-distributed group of sculptures, which give the park a stylish touch.

Exceptional square, one of the largest in Europe. Kept very well and clean, belonging after the Saturday market or special events. Perfect for walking, reading, sunbathing, picnicking, playing ball. Surrounded by the canal, dotted with trees and imposing statues of culturally and politically important figures. Attached to Sant'Antonio and Santa Justina to visit.
It hosts many events: Market every Saturday, Antique market one Sunday per month, fruits and vegetables most mornings, epiphany that burns in January, carnival wagons in February, sports parties, marathons, New Year's concert, decorations for Christmas, and so on.
It may happen, on Sunday morning, to hear sacred music come from the baskets of garbage… equipped with built-in amplifiers!

Beautiful square in the middle of Padova, its statues around, theatre performances, is very good place to go with the family in summer.

This Square is enormous if you look around on 360 degrees you have plenty of beautiful Palace to see. On Saturday big market occupies all the piazza. New archeological work started last year on the center of the square, the place is loved by local and tourists.

This is second largest piazza in Europe. It is GORGEOUS! It is clean and full of people even though I visited it at winter. There is a circuit going around and people use it to skate, run or just even walk. I cannot wait to return during spring or summer time to see the nice colors of the vegetation. It was a lovely surprise to see this at our visit to Padova.

A nice historic place to spend an afternoon. They say it's the second or third largest square in the world. With two rings of statues (78 in total) beautify it even more.

Very well maintained facility with colourful crowd. It is within 3 minutes of the Centro and San Antonio. One of my favourite places in Padova.

The largest square in Italy as well as the second largest tree-lined square in Europe. The place is suggestive and is located near the streets that lead to the main squares of Padua. It is adjacent to several businesses to eat and shop. A mandatory stop for those who want to visit Padua.

The canal that surrounds the square has been emptied to give way to excavations.
At the location of the place was in fact once a Roman circus.
To see nearby the Basilica of St. Justine as well as a little further the Basilica of St. Francis.

Beautiful city, then Prato della Valle is particularly enchanting in the Christmas period with decked trees and stalls.
The porticos are beautiful and the various squares with the churches are stunning.
You find everything for any kind of shopping you want, whether you are looking for a local to eat or a bar to have a drink with friends is the right place.

Beautiful place, very atmospheric, to put on the balustrade and to hear atmospheric music, a high sense of the senses.

The largest square in Italy after St. Peter's Square. Interesting anyway. And as in the Vatican the churches are not lacking…

It is the biggest square in Europe, maybe the second biggest after the one in Moscow. But this square has an island in the middle. It is awesome! Every Saturday there is a huge market which has a part selling flowers and plants (nice and cheap).

An excellent place to visit on a weekend day when vendors have their wares on display. Also, look for Trattoria Carducci, just a block from the park. Excellent and authentic Italian food. No tourists were present. Great food (I had duck confit with taglietti pasta). The park is close the historic buildings of downtown Padua.

Very large square I noticed (by chance) that there is also a fountain in the center, the square is all surrounded by buildings/historical buildings interesting to see and to photograph. I put a single star because of the organization by the municipality towards tourism. There were 2 days (enough to see and turn the historical part of the city) but there was a day when from this "Prato della Valle" has managed to photograph the surrounding area without taking market stalls and umbrellas (market and crafts), let alone From the outside I was unable to photograph the whole fountain (which I almost didn't even see)

Really beautiful piazza with amazing series of statues. On the weekend this place hosts a great market all around the piazza.

A nice picnic area with a central circle surrounded by a little moat with bridges. Many statues surround you. A couple large basilicas are nearby.

The Prato della Valle, the large square, second in Europe only to the Red Square of Moscow, once marshy land redesigned by Andrea Memmo to qualify an area used for the market of cattle and large animals. The beautiful grassy lawn that there is now a time was not there at all. The name "Pratum" indicates a large space used for commercial purposes that could be covered with grass if not paved but not necessarily. Still today the Prato della Valle is used for this purpose and every day hosts some fruit stalls and verdera, on Saturdays a market of stalls, flowers, handicrafts and every third Sunday of the month the antiques market.

You are free to sit on the grass, the scenery is beautiful and relaxing although the place could use a few more benches. Around the place there are a few drinking fountains.

Amazing historic place. Perfect location to arrange meetings with friends. Every Saturday there's a big market taking place where u can buy cheaper fruits, vegetables, plants, clothes, household goods or even some random interesting stuff.
