Review of Hotel Tugu Bali - CHSE Certified 5*

I don’t know where to start and I don’t know where to end, because I most probably can’t stop raving about my unique experience at this magical place in Bali, the Island of Gods. Entering Tugu Hotel Bali is just like being transported to another world. Everywhere you look you’d find Indonesian antique collection so meticulously curated by avid antique collector and entrepreneur Anhar Setjadibrata. You’d learn so much more about Indonesian history and colonial period by visiti…ng all Tugu Group’s properties than going to any museum in this country in one go. My suite was lavish which includes its own fish pond with an array of Koi fish in it, a massive bed one could get lost in, a private plunge pool and an exotic inside-outside bathroom, amongst others. And don’t let the appearance fool you: it’s very authentic and traditional, but let me tell you, this room has more modern, functional and practical amenities and facilities than any newly-built modern hotel rooms. Everything… I mean, EVERYTHING has been thought of carefully to ensure an effortless, five-star seamless hotel guest experience. The service, from the welcome to the goodbye, from breakfast to the complimentary welcome massage and from room service to my dinner at Ji Restaurant Bali, the island’s best Japanese restaurant overlooking the fabled Canggu beach, was discreet yet outstanding and über-courteous yet effortless. You feel right at home and you should look nowhere if you want to experience everything Indonesian at its very best… Now please let me dream about it all over again…
