View is amazing. Lunch was very disappointing. We stopped for a buffet at the hotel and the buffet was not ready until 1.00pm when it was supposed to be served by 12.30pm. When it was finally ready the food itself was not tasty. The fish, meat and tapioca were not fresh. The server was kept very busy and he seemed to be the only one. Service was good.

Happy to return to Raviz Kovalam, Managed by Leela Group of hotels. Excellent property with Astamudi Kayal.

Pathetic Service. Very bad qualityI booked my stay at Raviz Kovalam on 14th Feb 2022 as it was my birthday. Travelled with my family. My 4 month old kid's first outingWe booked the beach villa which we have to go in kart from the reception. After checking in found Room Menu not available and called house keeping but no answer. So called reception and it took them 1 hour to bring a QR code printed paper for the Menu. After ordering food, called up restaurant to give. Running order but no response. This was at 8pm. Called reception 4 times, noone picked up the call. Called to Raviz Hotel landline number from my mobile, but no-one answered. Finally have to walk to restaurant and order. In room. The bed linen was torn. In bathroom, health foset was leaking. These were the conditions. Very pathetic service. In case of an emergency if I have to get my car, need to call the reception and get the kart to the room. Else I have to walk or run almost 1km uphill for this. In case of medical emergency or something. Is this the way a 5 star property cares the guest. Even I had special request as I am staying with my 4 month old kid. Who would answer if something had gone wrong? Photos attached. This is the quality and service of RAVIz Kovalam. Making the best property the worst with their pathetic service.

Overall great 4/5. Love the nature.

Claims to be a five star resort but lacks basic medical facilities. Recently, our group of about 34 stayed at this place and unfortunately one of our colleagues fell sick. The so called FIVE STAR RESORT did not have any medical doctor on call, leave alone having a doctor on duty. They had no tie up with any good hospital, dis not even have basic medicines like Paracetamol or equipments like a BP apparatus or a glucometer. Worse still the resort did not even have a wheel chair. The staff were not the least bothered about one of their guest taking ill and offered little assistance in dealing with the medical emergency. A typical *don't care* attitude not seen anywhere else.

It was a great day over there. Such a wonderful place to celebrate your day. Ashtamudi lake gives a cool breeze and all the staffs were so polite as well as nice.

Breathtaking views of the lake from the Raviz resort. The service and food was excellent. They have a floating restaurant facing the lake which is a great place for dinner. The rooms were well maintained and staff were courteous. Overall I would recommend this resort to anyone visiting Kerala.

Very bad experience. I went with my family thinking to have great buffet but unfortunately it became the worst. The food was cold. The pasta was too dry. There was no variety. Dessert had jus two cakes n halwa nd both the cakes were hard and dry. The only thing good was the service.

Magnificent, calm, quiet, enchanting. The place is really unique. You feel like a King or Queen when you enter and remains for a longtime. Everything and Anything has a touch of quality here. Great, cent per cent marks.

Very good ambience. Beautiful view of the lake. We had our rooms in the old block. The TV and electric kettle were not working. But they were immediately set right by the staff. The grand kids enjoyed the swimming pool very much. The half an hour boat ride was also nice. The on the house breakfast was lavish and had a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The polite staff made us feel at home.

You will find difficulty to locate this hotels entry from main road. Once in hotel everything is taken care off. Courteous staff, very beautiful surroundings, facility for boating, swimming pool, lush green sitouts near backwater and very sumptuous menu for breakfast. We were four spent two days happily.

We booked 10 rooms at an offer price. The rooms were clean and had all facilities. Nice view from rooms. They could have placed a small tube of paste as that is something we expect. There is 24 hour gym facility. A free boat ride and yoga session. The pool timing is from 7am to 8pm which is kinda sad as the breakfast starts from 7.30 and when you reach the pool by 8.30 it will already be sunny and difficult. They have a very big buffet for inclusive dinner, breakfast and lunch. The food quality is only average and there is room for improvement. The place is kinda costly and it would be too pricey to order food separately if you're middle income groups.

This is the best place to stay in a perfect holiday, there are many activities to enjoy and boat rides and archery and many more. The room are good with Bathtubs and many. Room services are awesome and Swimming pool is good. The price is reasonable.

I am torn between 4 and 5 stars here. We enjoyed our stay for many reasons including the food, the spacious room and the friendly staff. As the hotel is advertised and priced as a 5 star hotel I will be more forthcoming about some of the issues I would overlook in more budget accommodation. Positives: Beautiful hotel Great location Free boat trips Nice pool Great staff Excellent buffet Negatives: Bed sheets are thoroughly worn out and bobbled from over washing. Ours had washed blood stains. Our room had a strange smell to it when we first got in. After 20 mins of air conditioning this thankfully cleared. Kayak hire is expensive even by western standards. Maintenance is required around the pool area. Drainage grates are missing or broken. No room order menu in room and no mini bar (room service is available but you have to phone to request a menu). Overall we had a great stay but for the price it could be improved.

An upscale place to relax. Awesome rooms (I recommend lake view rooms). Very friendly staff and the chefs come up to you to talk and recommend local food. Their spa is also good, although a bit pricey. Complimentary boat ride on the back water is a must.

Rejuvenation… yes … resurrection… yes… you name and have… at the lap of mother nature amid backwater surroundings this property cannot be illustrated by words … it is beyond… every aspect of nature speaks in volumes… please visit to taste the dimensions of mother nature.

A well located property. Gives the feel of ancient lifestyle in Kerala. Spice boat and the antiques are the main attraction. Boating is okay. Food is excellent. They have a public pool and there are some rooms with private pools as well. Overall worth spending a weekend with family.

A good 5 star resort with traditional Kerala architecture. Rooms with lake view and balcony are available. Indian and English cuisines are included in the complementary breakfast. Neat and tidy atmosphere with few sports amenities and variety of boating facilities. Cons: The room service was a bit slower.

Very good rooms and polite stave. Reasonable rates in bar. Good ambience. But the quality of food requires further improvement. Over all fine for the money we spend.

Location wise it is good. But by considering other facts, I cannot give better than 1 star. Below average quality of food from a five star rated hotel is not acceptable. And service also need lot of improvement. Ordinary mineral water bottle charged 106 Rs. Not worth for money.

Hotel looked great and silent with good ambience. House boat is a special attraction of the hotel. Boat ride went great. Ride went smooth without any hustle more over silent without much rolling & pitching. It travelled fast but felt silently in the backwaters of astamudi. Backwaters are kept neat and anybody will like the gentle cold breeze from the backwaters ride in a very sunny day. Over all customer service was great, but only area of improvement needed is the quality of buffet provided under the houseboat needs improvement. Overall it was a great experience & worth money. I would recommend anyone to have the great experience.

The place is very nice. It's a very large property with lake view. The ambience is very good. This was my second trip to raviz and I felt the service was a bit on the lower side this time. The old hospitality was missing. Also the quality of food also has come down a bit. Otherwise a perfect place for any occasion.

Beautiful. I like going to the terrace in the evenings to watch Kites soar the skies. Does not have any variety of good tea or coffee, only instant mixes. Food is good but well overpriced but even though, I would come back here just for the view. It's surrounded on three sides by a lake and makes a great morning welcome through the window. In the first week of March I paid Rs. 5, 500 for a standard AC room w bathtub. October to February end is season time where as from May to July it is very very hot. July end to mid October is Monsoon time.

I spent yesterday in Raviz with my family. It was a fantastic experience.
The main atraction of this place is the calm atmosphere. While sitting in the cafetaria We feel awsome because of the gentle breeze coming from the lake. The side seens are marvolous.
For Photo shootage also Raviz exibits its wild beauti. Each and every place are suitable for photography.
Food is very delitious. We had a fanatic boffe.
Only one drawback I noticed here is the affodability. It is a five star hotel. Compairing the facility and service provided from the management spending money is not excess. In short I am recomending Raviz for birthday Party and family enjoyment,

One of the best hotels, both in the name of brand, service, food and comfort. The hotel provides a lot of outdoor scenery and air. Service is great, and they had provided all the people in the hotel with a complimentary evening hose boat ride and tea party. Food is something that is a must try in when you come here, but unfortunately we hadn’t had the chance of grabbing dinner. Buffet breakfast had a multitude of dishes and the desserts were mouthwatering. A must visit in Kerala. P. S: The lake of Ashtamudi is a beautiful feature that adds on to the beauty of this place. P. PS: They have a beautiful pool, and serene spa service that isn’t much costly too. Loved it here. Will definitely come back for more days.

Amazing experience. Beautiful place for the visits with family. You'll really enjoy the boating and there is plenty of options like speed boat site seeing etc. Well maintained. Very police staffs. Very calm and well built place… In the traditional way. Food is also of top quality.

An amazing place to drink beer and enjoy the view to the lake. The crew is super nice… food is amazing here, especially seafood… hotel also have different tours in kollam. The building of the hotel is wonderful: amazing sculptures and nice decoration… a bit amazing but it worth to come at least for drinking beer and enjoy evening view…

A good place to spend a day. Watersports available are very costly. A complimentary boating provided in the evening is attractive. Swimming pool is good and safe. Gym and play area are attractive. Not far from the town. Overall it's worth a stay.

One of the best hotels in Kerela… very beautiful. Nature at its best. Food is great. Rooms are classy and luxurious. Hotel has a great traditional touch… the boating and other activities are superb… the view of the lake is fantastic. Swimming pool is very beautiful. A truly great experience to be there.

The hotel is a good value, cheap 5* hotel. However, you get what you pay for and this is a cheap 5* hotel. The place looks like no maintenance has been done since it was built. This is most apparent at the pool. To make up for the cheap room rates, the hotel extras are expensive, and these soon mount up. Most disappointing was the restaurant that was overpriced, despite the substandard quality of food and service. It is far better to take a rickshaw into town and eat in the great restaurants Kollam has to offer. The rooms are nice, but are let down by the lack of attention to detail. For example, our lake view room had extremely dirty windows that spoilt the view. Overall, this is a nice place to stay, but don’t expect true 5* quality.

Warm hospitality and fantastic amenities. Great place for a family vacation. If you are traveling with young children, you will find a lot of ways to keep them engaged with a variety of in-house entertainment. For adults looking to explore the city, do so on foot as the hotel is very close to most of the places of interest. If you just want to relax in the hotel, all you have to do is look out of your window, from which you can see Lake Ashtamudi.

The place is really nice but they really tried to hard sell the Kayaking, Speed boat and Banana Boat rides and this coming from a 5 star resort is not acceptable. We're paying a good amount for the place as it is and on top of that them trying to make some extra cash is just ridiculous!

Had a fabulous time enjoying the birthday party… A calm and quiet place with a great lakeview… close to town… great ambience… The staff was cordial and service was good… Enjoyed the day spent there… The cruise along the lake was a good time spent with the whole family.

So many facilities, but you can't use that because of dirty rules. You cannot use swimming pool without nilon swimming suit. You cannot use track suits. TT table, billiards table all available, but you can't use those also. Boating timings are not punctual. Buffet lunch is average.

We a group of two families went for a one day stay. The services were not up to the expectations. No welcome drink was provided to us while we saw a few guests who came after us was provided welcome drink. Then the boy who assisted us to the rooms didn't mention which room was meant for whom. We both had selected different type rooms and the rooms got switched and we were in the wrong room. There was a cockroach in the toilet. Services provided in room were not ok when compared with other 5 star hotels. Food was good though. There was a half an hour boat trip in the evening and we also did kayaking. There are indoor and outdoor play area and gym.

Was a great experience staying at the Raviz. Came to attend am Engagement function at the Raviz it self so booked a night. One night was not enough will be back again next year to stay for few days. Also had an amazing trip on the house boat for few hours including in boat buffet. Quality!

We stayed yesterday at the Raviz resort Kollam in a premium Lake view room. For a five star rated resort, the standard was way below expectation. I must say that the staff were very helpful and willing to help. The rooms were also neat and beautiful but didn't have some basic things like laundry bags. But there were a lot of bad experiences too. The entire building where our rooms were located smelled like fish. My kids literally had to hold their noses till we entered the rooms. We had brunch, dinner and breakfast at the buffet and it definitely was below standard. The buffet had a lot of flies. Selection of items in the buffet was also not as per expectation, especially when you compare it to a 4 star hotel. Reservation staff are not available on weekends and the reception staff could barely speak English. Not something you would expect from a 5 star rated resort Overall not a memorable stay and definitely not a five star.

I absolutely loved the rooms. They charge extra for the rooms with the view of the lake, and I loved that I paid extra, because the view is stunning. The staff is polite and courteous. However, I did not rate this place five stars, as I feel that the food is slightly expensive. They did mention that they will look into it, and I hope they do.

You really should pay close attention to the room selection as some rooms categories are dated and need a renovation. Also with cleaning and maintenance you should not expect American or European 5 star standard! My bathroom was quite mouldy (see pictures)! They advertise two restaurants and one bar (which are also mentioned everywhere throughout the hotel) but in actuality they do not exist. There only is one quite expensive and average restaurant that does not serve alcohol! On the good side the staff is really nice and attentive plus they offer an exceptional breakfast and a short free boat ride on the lake!

The elegant architectural design and the ambiance of the surroundings is what makes Raviz stand out from the rest of other 5-star hotels. You will be completely immersed in lush backwaters of Ashtamudy. Highly recommended!

Worst experience, in such a widely talked about place. Please make sure you check if they have some event or celebrities there before you go, or they will completely ignore you. The service was terrible, the food was under cooked, it took half an hour to get the bill and the lime soda we ordered came 15 minutes after we paid the bill and then they forgot one. The place is beautiful but the management is terrible. I was happy to pay their exorbitant rates hoping for that kind of service and quality, both of which were worse than a shack. Guess comparing it to a shack is an insult to a shack.

Superb waterfront. Customer friendly staff. One will like to revisit.

Pretty good, especially the attempts to showcase legacy furniture and lifestyle of vintage Kerala. The rooms are great and the money spend on detail is impressive. However, due to shape of the property, things do feel cramped especially at the lobby and porch when compared to other 5star resorts. That is but compensated with a marina and full view of ashtamudi lake.

Kollam's best property for rest n recreation. Great food… must experience the FLOATING RESTAURANT. Offers complimentary cruise for guests in the evening.

The rooms were well kept and the ambience was also good but the swimming pool and outdoor games center were not properly maintained. Also, the selection of food (buffet) was not good.

We tried 2 types of rooms: a super Deluxe in the annexe, and the King suite in the main building. Possibly the most luxurious rooms in which it has been. The restaurant is a bit limited as for Western food, but eating pasta or pizza, then better go to Italy! Here the curry, tandoori chicken, the tikka masalas are spectacular.
Unmissable excursion in boathouse by the backwaters, and the trip by pirogue: of the more exotic!
I recommend the hotel to 200%!
