Chameleon Youth Hostel Hostel

Extremely irascible, hostile and aggressive reception old guy with ridiculous braided hair. He clearly has anger management issues and wants to fight anyone who disagrees with him! Shouts, literally shouts at the top of his voice. A few patrons left after he challenged them! Will never graced this place again. I definitely don’t recommend this place if you don’t want your entire trip or day spoilt?!? DO NOT STAY HERE! There’re many nice hostels here but this is NOT IT!

Beautiful hostel in the best location :-)

The rooms themselves were OK. Bathrooms a bit of a mess and no hot water one of the days. Air con is basically non existent, doesn't really do much at all. Would consider it almost fake advertising cause it's barely cooler inside than it is outside with the ceiling fan going, aircon on and another fan. Only gets 2 stars because of its superb location and incredibly helpful staff. Staff there were 10/10, just wish the rest of the hostel was on par.

Friendly and helpful hosts. The studio I booked is very cozy with every thing (kitchen, bedroom, bathroom) all in one. Great location with various night out dinning or bar options. Closed to metro stations.

We booked the studio apartment, but were given a much larger apartment to ourselves with its own living area, kitchen, bedroom, private bathroom and huge private balcony with views of the acropolis and surrounding area. The location was perfect, the hostel is located right beside a supermarket and pharmacy which was very convenient, and about a 10 minute walk to the entrance of the acropolis. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.

My first hostel experience, and it was perfect! They provide lockers (about 1ft. X 2ft. ), full kitchen, night light and outlet next to every bed, and hot showers! The shower is hose only and you have to hold it while showering. But I would 100% recommend this place.

It has an excellent location, there is coffee at all hours at the front desk. It doesn't have the most comfortable facilities, but it's a clean place and has what it takes.

Very nice hostel with friendly vibes, nice equipped and spacious kitchen, clean bathrooms and a rooftop terrace. Solid Wi-Fi but no signal on rooftop. They have a lovely white Labrador in house. Nice living area on the ground floor, knowledgeable staff and easy to walk everywhere in the city.

Very nice people, very clean, large rooftop terrace, excellent value for money, great location in a lovely area, close to Monasteraki and easy walking distance to Syntagma. But best of all… the dogs, Hermes, William and? They will make you feel most welcome.

Very nice hostel! Clean, safe and friendly! The bathrooms were kind of crazy but if you're not a princess then that won't be a problem! Quiet at night and nice vibes. Amazing location and cute dog. Would definitely recommend it :)

Extremely good value, and well situated in Athens. Staff are very friendly and and able to answer all questions!

Close to acropolis and other places of interest in Athens plus close to metro. Nice and clean accommodation.

In the middle of the center of Athens. The best place that you want to stay and learn the city with the feet's. Everything are so close from there! Great hospitality also!

Location is great, but this is not a modernised hostel which means walls are thin. Staff were really friendly and helpful. There is a big supermarket in 30sec away.

Location is the best aspect of this hostel. It's within walking distance of all the main historical sites. The dorm rooms are conjoined with sliding doors which adds to the communal atmosphere. Stayed here almost a week and was able to sleep peacefully the whole time. Reception is 24hours and you buzz to get in so it is quite secure. There's a communal living room and kitchen as well as a rooftop area that's quite spacious. There's a local market right next door and a fruit vendor. The only downsides are spotty Wi-Fi and the lockers provided at reception are small (good for wallets and purses but not for backpacks).

Great place to stay in Athens. Hosts are lovely. Clean, good price and you get to meet new people. :) Plus is super close from the Parthenon, what else can you ask for.

I spend 3 nights over here. The staff was very friendly and nice. They let me keep my luggage for my last day for about 5 hours without a charge. They also gave me a farewell shot before my trip back to London. I met some interesting people here. If I come back I will consider living here again.

I had a bad experience, that I stole the phone, I suspect one that was in the room with us. But the staff of the hostel did not show much interest in what happened. Despite that, the hostel is very good. Very good the terrace! The breakfast is ok, not super full. It is very clean. And well located.
