4 stars as it was great for the price I paid (about 40 eur /night) — I'd definitely stay again. Fairly spacious room and big en suite. I loved the big windows (though would've appreciated a proper curtain, rather than just a net curtain). Location is great, a ten minute walk from the main station down a big shopping street (so it felt very safe to arrive late at night). Friendly staff. Only thing to watch out for is that the rooms aren't soundproofed very well — though with earplugs I didn't find this a problem at all.

Excellent location, kind staff and good breakfast. The hotel is old, but it is pretty clean.

Nice hotel though sadly not air conditioned. Made it very uncomfortable mid Sumner A new receptionist was in training but the trainer was rude and not helpful. Nice breakfast.

Not worth 3 stars. Nor for the situation. The price does not even justify 1 star. Hotel management never to speak.

We had a three guest room for one night. The room was very clean, the staff friendly and breakfast was different but good. The room was a little small by American standards but was adequate for sleeping. No air conditioning and a small elevator. But all in all, a very decent room for a very reasonable price.

For a Weekend ok, as the Hotel is Located Centrumsare. No Air Conditioning, Room and Bathroom very small.

Zimmer was the size of a broom chamber. Windows pointed into a small courtyard and fire staircase. Door to the bathroom could not be completely opened as the "bedside table" was in the way. Lighting concept of the "hotel room" consisted of a neon tube in front of the curtain bar. Bed ancient and well located and not suitable for anyone over 1, 80m height. Air conditioning in no area of the building available (especially pleasant in summer) of course not present. Skirting boards as an "ornamental bezel" so that you do not see the gap between the cupboard and the wall. Phone and internet failed. Wiring the TV nailed to the wall so you don't accidentally tear it off with your feet when you're lying on the bed. For €72 including breakfast completely coated. Prefer to continue booking the Ibis Standard 500m and pay €10am more.

Mighty overall impression: One of two rooms was fine in size, the second an extended board chamber. The entire building seems repurposed and is therefore very entangled. Wi-Fi cannot be assessed because at the time of the visit you failed. The rooms were just so tidy, but nothing special. All the equipment and optics very outdated and actually in need of renovation. Plus: Cheap prices and excellent location in the city centre.

You can find better for the same price. The location is not too bad though.

Good value for money, due to the central location. Breakfast goes like this. Room and ambiance rather well. Staff friendly. Overall clean.

We stayed 2 nights and did not have access to the Internet. It didn't work. The facilities are old but generally clean. It is not a website that I will remember how to return, next year we will look for another hotel.

For sleeping and breakfast ok. Bathroom or shower cubicle broken…

It's nice place to stay nice location. Need some updates and need air conditioning.

Close to the centre. Everything is within walking distance (shopping, musical dome etc. ) Unfortunately no own parking spaces. For longer stays a bit spartan furnished and poor TV reception. For a short night for musical visits etc. But good value for money.

I have a lot to say about this hotel. I felt like I was at home in this hotel but sometimes this feeling was too strong. I changed my room after the first night due to so many noises made by guests who were going down from the staires and that elevator door which was sounding boom boom everytime they closed it. I did not have the same noises in my new room but very noisy staff starting cleaning the rooms from latest 8 am, did not let me have a relaxing morning. There was a closet close to my room door that they opened every 5 min to take clean sheets and… I liked the breakfast though. Wanted to give them a 3 star grade due to not fixing the elevator door but they treated me nicely so a 4/5.

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. Staff friendly. We'll be back.

Small rooms and not very clean.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The room was very small. Heating does not work well. Reasonable price. But unfortunately with mouldy shower. I wouldn't stay here again.

Good location. Functional hotel, bathroom was clean and well equipped.

Very cozy and nice hotel with simple amenities, fair size of room and very close to the train station (about a good 20 minutes of walk south on the pedestrian street with lots of boutiques. Service is good and the included breakfast is good (buffet continental breakfast, not the regular eggs and bacon).

Clean, comfy bed and nice bathroom. Staff speak enough English to make checking in easy. Breakfasts nice if some what limited menu.

Honest, clean rooms and a decent breakfast.

Our room was very noisy, especially annoying were the noises of the elevator door. You only have a chance to have a parking space if you ask for it when you book. There is no indication that this is necessary. Otherwise the hotel was OK.

Good standard, somewhat disused rooms. Beds are soft to getting used to. Parking can be expensive booked, but is further away. Recommended with car HT. Breakfast is good but too expensive.

Check-in time is 2pm. A bummer! There was no mention of it on my booking confirmation. No lockers/cloakroom to leave your luggage if you arrive early and go sight seeing. The room was tidy and sufficiently spacious for a solo traveller. The bathroom was nice and clean. The elevator was a tiny little rattly thing :/ Breakfast was okay, sort of drab actually.

Good location, rooms ok no air con, fan would be good on hot days. Breakfast good very limited choice.

Unfortunately I can not put 0 stars. 0 stars. The hotel is horrible we are in 2017 and still has a penous, non-existent, slow Wi-Fi … unfortunately they told me at reception that it was a matter of a few hours but it lasted 3 days and reading other reviews Wi-Fi is always like that. With so many people intenet working there today. Unacceptable and horrible.

Rooms a little dated … I had asked for double bed and they gave me room with single beds… breakfast little varied, it ends immediately everything and do not report what ends. For one or two nights he can go. Friendly staff and great location. Ah the heating is very high!

Rooms good, without any sound insulation but discreet, but with heating completely off in late November! Despite having done this twice at reception they did nothing to fix it, indeed. They had the guts to say it was off because usually guests were complaining about it being too hot and never for the cold. Too bad that out there were zero degrees and in the room maybe 15/16! Distressing Wifi, the worst ever found in a hotel.
Luckily it was only one night. Very good location, decent breakfast (but with pretty much nothing sweet) and nothing more. I would not go back.

We had a perfect room for 2 with a good breakfastbuffet.

Just what we needed ; great value for money for Köln, friendly staff, good beds and all. I spend so much time in chain hotels throughout Europe with absolutely no personality that this place is like a breath of fresh air. Add to this that the hotel is located so close to the city (easily walkable to the cathedral etc. ) and you have a great possibility for a short break in this wonderful city. Breakfast was great too. We will most certainly be coming back.

Srit about 1967 under new management, simple, easy, comfortable and Human, something for every man.
