Pretty good pls e. Convenient location, nice staff. Cleanliness is kinda hit or miss. O stall I it was good. Would stay again.

We had one issue after another here. We arrived to check in around 2am, only to be informed the computers reboot at this time we needed to wait 30 minutes, with no apologies. The room itself is quite nice, except if you are facing the front street your room will be extremely hot at all hours, almost unbearable to sleep in. People will also loudly talk and yell all night into the morning outside the hostel, when there is a perfectly good lobby for this exact purpose. All of this was topped off when we asked to do our laundry at 19:30, and we told it was too late. We accepted this and figured that meant it was not self service. We wake up at 8:00 to do our laundry to find out all we need is a key to open the laundry room and now have to waste ~3 hours in the middle of the day doing laundry. The staff also gave us multiple bad food recommendations and had us walk 15 minutes to only find out everything was closed when they promised it would be open. If all you need is a bed, then this place is fine. If you need anything else, don’t stay here.

"You have to expect this in a hostel, if you don't get clear with it, then you have to take a 5 star hotel, " was the cleaning women's response, after we asked you to clean our room floor for the third time.
Even on arrival, old fries and lumps of dust lay on the ground. In addition, the cleaning women were making fun of how ridiculous it would be to complain about a fries and the dirt. They said they had wiped the room every day, but this was unrecognisable.
Mold in the bathroom corners and lugubrious floor.
The cleaning women wanted, nor did they want to hand over a caraway, so that we could have made the dirt away ourselves.
Walking barefoot was impossible. I've never had so much theatre with a cleaning lady. Very incompetent and rude cleaning staff.

This place is a cheap and cheerful Hostel. The breakfast is ok and the general hostel is kinda what you expect from a massive hostel the toilets and showers are basic, but useful. The staff are generally pretty good and you can chill downstairs in relative peace late at night. Basically if you want somewhere central and are not too worried about general basics it's ok. The beds in my room at least we're metal bunks, assume it's the same throughout, but my room was really noisy if anyone moved in bed. It is next to quite a lot of hotspots though. The Brandenburg gate and next to the North Korean Embassy (I think).

Good location however the amenities aren't the best. There is not really a bar its just an extension of reception so they don't serve food. Internet is terrible and the drain in shower was blocked so the shower base filled with an inch or so of water. Charging ports could also be closer to the beds aswell as well as enough in the room for everyone. Was in a 6 bedroom dorm and there were only 4 charging ports.

Of all the hostels I stayed in during my time in Berlin, I'd say Cityhostel Berlin was place for a couple of reasons. First of all, I was more or less made homeless at the time I started staying here… Cost was a determining factor, and the prices for rooms here were almost always the cheapest around compared to others. It also helped that you could easily pay via Expedia for your stay and not be surprised by hidden fees upon arrival like some other hostels (*cough* A&O *cough*). The place itself was always very clean and had a nice lounging area to sit at as well as a big kitchen to eat in (with charging outlets placed conveniently along the booths). Considering I stayed there for over a month paying day to day, I came to be recognised as a regular amongst the employees. Everyone I spoke to at the front desk understood English quite well (apart from the new girl who struggled a bit, but it was rather charming to watch). Everyone there, in general, was very polite, professional, and helpful. There was another girl even who went above and beyond in helping me one evening with an issue I had. I don't remember her name, sadly, or I'd reference it here. She was the pretty one with blonde hair. ;) Now, the location was another factor that made this place really stand out. There are tons of shops around you can walk to. Nearby food markets, fast food restaurants, public transport right around the corner.

A great place to stay, the only thing I did not like was a receptionist who did not cater well on our arrival, was not very friendly, but from there the rooms and the breakfast super good, a curious fact is that it is winged of the Embassy of North Korea. Jajaj.

Really high quality hostel in a great location. Had a private room with friends and it was as good as many hotels I have stopped in. Bar is very lively and friendly at all hours of the day and night. The hotel is in a good location just off the main station at Alexanderplats.

Very kind. Buffet-style breakfast. They keep your bags. The rooms… Never little old.

I booked a bed for 3 nights. The morning after the second, my luggage was moved out of the room and I was asked to leave. Luckily I had the papers proving, that I had indeed paid for 3 nights and I was given a bed in a different room. The staff didn't apologize for their mistake though and in fact acted as if I was to blame somehow, asking me why was I in that room in the first place… it wasn't like I made that decision. Would never visit again.

Cheap. Good location Spacious.

It's very good, especially if you're in a group. The rooms are 6, have a bathroom and lockers with key and everything is very clean. In the reception they speak many languages which facilitates the management, they also have a room to store the suitcases. Of Notmalito offer a buffet, if you did not pay in the room you can pay there. The best, no doubt the location, you can go walking to many places and if you don't like walking there is metro nearby, also a train leading to the airport.

The most crappy. The walls are cardboard, no one sleeps with such noise. The cleanliness and no "luxuries" like gel (in my room or hand soap), more than a towel or borrow a hairdryer. In my room there was no heating and instead there was a pretty noisy electric heater. The staff was the most edge, except the lady who served the breakfast which was very friendly.
The breakfast buffet is the worst I've ever seen in my life, it's not worth the €6. And with little variety, they always put the same and many things are of poor quality or are not good.
The hotel is very cheap and with a good location, but sometimes the cheap thing comes out expensive.

Actually, what you pay in order from the equipment and location. The bed is comfortable and clean for what the floor and shower cabin is about can be desired. Under the bed there was rubbish and the shower cubicle was a bit moldy (for that the 2 star deduction). We didn't try the breakfast.

Great place to visit Berlin. In the center in steps of the Brandenburg Square attended by young people with great desire.

The hostel is well located, and the rooms are spacious. The staff is very friendly and there is good atmosphere, however the Wi-Fi service is lousy.

For a short medium budget completely sufficient… cheap and Super Central… Parking in front of the hotel. Subway connection 2min footpath. The nights were quiet despite the size. It's OK for a few days. If you want luxury, do not book a hostel. To eat I can't say anything, were always eating out.

Very centrally located and for the price location located hostel, very convenient. Were there for one night. The rooms are very comfortable.

Location is good, shower and toilet are in need of renovation but clean. Not very quiet. You hear everyone in the hallway and when the connecting door hits, the bed wobbles from the shaking. The breakfast is very good. Buns are baked, juice is not edible for us and the Aufschnittauswahl is very spartan. After all, there's coffee. Maid come without knocking into the room. All in all not recommended but relatively inexpensive.

I came already twice in this place, L found it very cozy and in a really great location. A stone's throw from checkpoint Charlie, while in the other directions within a 10 minute walk you reach the Brandenburg Gate. A metro station is right across from the hostel and around there are plenty of locals to eat and also a big mall.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was very clean.

No kitchen, no microwave, no refrigerator available. Check in at 3 and check out at 10 am. You can leave your bags in a room while you can get out.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the price was reasonable and it really worth to stay here! -The location is the best, you can achieve almost every sights by foot. -The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. Ps: get padlock because they don't give you for the cabinet.

They do not clean the room or change the towels (you get one on arrival). There's no gels or anything in the bathroom. Cheap and quite clean, good quality-price. Diplomatic zone without activity day or night but very close to Brandenburg, Unter den Linden or Checkpoint Charlie.

Cute and pretty well kept. I was in a double room and didn't have much trouble. Staff very helpful.

The location was very good right at the U AH Station. Many attractions within walking distance. The rooms were large and clean. Great I also found the shower and toilet were separate.

The hostel was nothing fancy. It's a good cheap place to stay. The internet may be throttled and there were only 2 power ports in an 8 person room. Some staff was great while others seemed to be rude. If you want cheap though this will likely be your choice.

My first impression was very bad. The lobby doesn't smell very good. The photos on the website are far from being up to date. The rooms are quite filthy from the bathrooms not to mention (Q-tips on the floor; Slippers lying around for days; Bathrooms flooded for days). The breakfast buffet was still reasonably high, but I would not book again.

The rooms are a bit bare but clean. Very good for the hotel. It is very central and well attended.
My recommendation to book 4-6 months in advance if you want a single or twin room.

What you would expect from a hostel. We stayed for just one night and got little sleep due to our neighbours coming in quite late and being very loud. At check in, we were each given a postcard with a photo of places in Berlin and a set of towels. One of our room cards did not work but the other did so we didn't worry about it. The beds were just okay — firm mattresses and lumpy pillows. The washroom in our room was small but functional. The sink was in the room, not the bathroom, so it could be used while someone else was in there. Views from the room of Berlin were nice. Very central location, very close to checkpoint Charlie with lots of things in walking distance. Desk staff spoke English and were friendly enough.

Fairly standard comfortable sized rooms in a very good location. Approximately an 8 minute walk to the nearest shopping centre, and the gorgeous looking Cinemax Original cinema building. A few issues with noise from other guest staying in the hostel, however that is to be expected in a hostel located near the city appealing to young people!

Relatively inexpensive to be located near the city centre; The cleanliness is not very much taken care of. You receive the password of the free Wi-Fi (which however is slow), a towel and if you want to use the locker in your room you have to remember to bring a padlock or there is the possibility to buy it at the reception.

The best thing about the hostel is its location. It allows you to visit the city almost without having to take public transport because it is in the very center. The room was large but quite outdated and the cleanliness was also better. Breakfast is 5, €50 with buffet, not bad if you don't want to complicate your life in looking for a place to have breakfast. Overall the experience was positive, for the price they offer the rooms you couldn't get any better in such good location.

The staff is not friendly at all, the rooms are dirty and the beds make a lot of noise. The showers are very dirty too and have no privacy and the Wi-Fi does not work. In addition, when we made our reservation, we indicated that we wanted to check-in at 11am. When we arrived, the gentleman at the reception told us very foolishly that check-in is only from 3pm. We were told that it was impossible for the site to mark this, but yet our confirmation email said so. Worst youth hostel. Note that there is no kitchen either. Only good thing: it is well located, close to everything in Berlin.

Nice step for one night, even though the single room I got was more reminiscent of an old CROUS room when I was a student. Staff friendly and smiling, breakfast simple but efficient, would simply deserve a little refreshment at the level of furniture/wall/equipment in the room.

Stayed here 3 nights in September 2017. Hostel is nice and appears to be a converted hotel. The staff are very friendly and accomodating. Didn't eat or drink in the cafe, but it looks pretty decent. The place is unfortunately loaded with school groups and teams because it's cheap, so if you want a quiet sleep this place may not be for you. The hostel is in a great location, walking distance to many attractions and a 2 minute walk from the metro station. Our room had fairly comfortable beds. The room was a good size and had a private bathroom included which was nice. Overall this hostel is good value for the price.

Great hostel, the services are impeccable and the staff in general very friendly! Cleanliness, safety. On the other hand, no communication between the hosts… too bad for an inn. Is more akin to a hotel.

Great double room, really surprised at the quality for the price. Staff have been really friendly and helpful. Pizza late at night was a win :) €2.50 for a small one. Overall experience was great. Only downside is the sightly dirty floor in our room. Would recommend!

Huge hostel, you don't live the socialization area typical of a small hostel but it is more a budget hotel with a large bar at the entrance. The entrance is very nice and looks better than what is actually the rooms and bathrooms.

The Cityhostel is a very clean and relaxed hostel. Climate control in the rooms could be better, especially considering the mild weather during my visit. Breakfast is good, but with limited choice. If you want predictable quality for a low price, this is it. It's also practically in the geographic center of Berlin.

The hostel was horrible. The showers were full of insects, the two toilets we had for our entire floor were dirty and female hygiene products were laying around. The beds were uncomfortable and made squeaky sounds when you moved. It was loud at night and people vomited in the bathrooms and in front of our door. Within the first minutes a very unfriendly staff member shouted at us and accused us of smoking and had someone spying at us from outside. They forgot our towels. Breakfast was good, the rest was horror, lunch package was gross, not even a bottle of water… Wouldn't recommend this Hostel! The smoking free thing is a lie. They all smoke and drink on the stairs, you can smell it.

Wonderful location, close to everything! Common spaces and cleaning were ok. Staff is helpful. However, every furniture in rooms is just too noisy, particularly beds and chairs. You'll listen every one else moving at bed not even with earplugs the sounds get considerably lower… The curtains were not enough to make the room darker during the morning which makes sleeping after 8am hard. If you have a "heavy sleep", very good value for money hostel.

This place has an absolutely great service with a very friendly staff that works around the clock to satisfy your every need. The rooms are always clean and the breakfast service is quite economic and convenient. It is a very convivial environment where you meet many others from all over the world. You can even meet life long friends here. This is the best hostel to stay in when you visit Berlin.

Easily accessible by taxi from Berlin HBF Central Station. Modern structure, just minutes from Metro station and Checkpoint Charlie, with comfortable and basic beds. Great for those who only stay one night or for travel in groups of 5-10 people. Super easy price.

This hostel can not be better placed in the center of Berlin. 24-hour access is a real plus. The only downsides are the sink installed right in front of the bed and that splashed everywhere as well as the rustic comfort of the shower. I would recommend it anyway.

The place is very nice, our room was big, clean and quiet. Good breakfast The hostel has a play area for a fee. Everything is very organized. They have an app that lets you know the other guests of the property.

It's a bed for the night. It's mostly clean but it depends on the occupants of your floor. They could use a few more plug sockets in the rooms.

We were in a private room for 4, with private bathroom. Very nice location, the receptionist very kind and helpful. The hostel Is in mitte, the city center. It has the metro nearby. Suggested for young travellers.

It's not the cleanest and bestausgestatteste Hostel in the world, but one may expect too much for the price.
Very friendly staff and all complaints (lack SOAP, broken socket, etc. ) have been fixed on the same or the following day. The rooms have basic equipment (bathroom, toilet, beds, table), and suffice perfectly for a couple of nights.
The location is unbeatable. All places of interest in less than 5 minutes walk, direct access to an underground station, Mall of Berlin directly opposite… better location can't be found.
So for anyone who needs not too much luxury, recommended.

The hostel is clean, cheap and location is great. Unfortunately the Wi-Fi is really poor it is impossible to catch it in room. Near reception it is, but the speed is to slow to send message on Messenger. A woman from staff can't speak english but other guys can.

Top Hostel, for a visit over one or two nights no objections had. For a long time however to get used to. Room was O. K. The bathroom was clean. In the Rough and on the Whole, a very pleasant stay in Berlin.

I am very happy with the Hostel. It is very centrally located and well without a car. I only had a room for one night and must say that it is the size of Top was. Cleanliness was Impeccable! For service I can not say so much, since I only Check-in with someone have spoken. But there they were very nice and open-minded. So that you immediately felt at ease! (:

The hostel is very big, with good facilities, good location and good customer service.

It is huge, the atmosphere of the reception tends to be well. Facilities lacking a remodeling. It is relatively close to the downtown area.

Cheap Hostel in the Middle of Berlin. The Breakfast is good, the dinner however, one must not necessarily have. The rooms are big enough and are clean.

The only good thing about this club was the 1 lady at the reception Desk on the last day of my stay (23. October 2015) appeared. Otherwise, Breakfast was ok, the Rest really rancid and disgusting. The shower after two days it started becoming unbearable stink, also is the sink next to / over a bed and the heating, the window and the toilets were broken and did not work satisfactorily. A star, therefore, do not go here! Please don't book this hotel!

I have a 4 bed room brought The room has stunk, so much so, that I have with the pillows in front of the nose to sleep should The hot water in the shower didn't work, so take a deep breathe, the Breakfast was definitely not worth the money. Never again.

The room was very squeaky Metallbetten equipped. The mattress sags. The bathroom is strong demand for renovation/Repair. The mouldy silicone joints a thing are black. In the area of the beds, only 2 sockets, for a quadruple room. Very clairaudient. Only the location has convinced us. We would not again in the Hostel to stay the night.

We were in the autumn of 2012 in the Cityhostel. Well shön is different. And we also had bed bugs in the room… Yes I have bed bugs (Bedbugs) are written! … as we were home we immediately all clothes are frozen and everything is about 40 degrees washed.

Rooms are not clean, bathroom was constantly water on the floor (toilet leaking or so) and in a bad condition, the building makes a bad impression (old and run down), Breakfast is not as on the pictures of the Homepage (cheap Aufbackbrötchen not properly cooked, watery juice, a little cold cuts, coffee not drinkable), Bar not as on the pictures of the Homepage. Overall, I expected more for the good location. Not to recommend!

Super Central Hostel, perfect to be the capital to explore. From the Cityhostel rented two bicycles and cycled through Berlin. Highly recommended! :)

I stayed there in the single room and in the double room. (the single room wasn't available for all days I wanted when I booked) The internet didn't work at all in the first room where I stayed. It was better when I changed the room slow. The location is very good. Near Stadmitte U-Bahn. The staff is helpful, although some of members could be more friendly.

Cofortable bed and good sizes rooms with possibility of room shower and bathroom.

I was with a buddy in a 6-bed room with 4 other. For the price it is really great and you learn so well to know new people.

Good location, Internet only upon vouchers for an hour.

Comfortable hostel in the centre of the town, for three nights in a double room 177 euros. Shower, toilet clean.

Because I have new year's eve in Berlin, I have some Hostels tried. The City Hostel is in my previous hostel history one of the Worst, what I At home and abroad have experienced. Me, personally, it is much too big and loud. It works from the inside like a hospital, it is still dingy and cold. My 6-bed Dorm rooms with 6 beds, half-broken cabinets and a table with two chairs. The bed is a simple metal frame, the mattresses are not on a slatted frame but on a kind of linkage, such as a fence looks like. Due to the low thickness of the mattress, you can feel these rods are extremely in the back. Luckily, I have only two nights sleep there. The bathroom is in the hallway, not lockable and two shared showers right next to each other. This is not mine, shower prefer something withdrawn without having to be observed. The toilets are already after a few hours of cleaning again tatty, what I do on the high occurrence of the guests move. So far, the Best thing about the Hostel, the Breakfast, but what I still had to pay extra (4, 90€ — in my opinion too expensive for a single Breakfast). For the price (17€) there are in Berlin definitely smaller, clean hostel, including Breakfast and a pleasant atmosphere. I would the City Hostel Berlin not really recommend it.

Booked a six person room here with friends. The prices are very low while the rooms are great, very neat and of great quality. The breakfast for no added costs was also well beyond our expectations in quality as well as the range of things we could choose from. Reception is good as well, no complaints! I'd definitely go here again when I visit Berlin.

We have been in this Hostel for 5 nights but only a spent there. For the price the performance is really a bad joke. In need of renovation without end, and the pictures of the rooms of the home page have only little to do with reality. Door frames were makeshift, with screws and boards repaired, in the shower we have only with Flip Flops married. The only positive was the friendly staff but not new business unit why we already shortly after the Check In is cancelled. Conclusion: those Who have a comfortable room to want to Feel good in this Hostel at the wrong address.

I was staying there in August 2012, and I must say that the Organization and the service were already super. The room was a single room. The space is sufficient for a person. The bins were not regularly emptied, but since I was only for sleeping and showers in the room that was in order. If you had questions about the sights, locations, bus and subway connections helped fast one. What I liked also was the free Wi-Fi, what works best but in the lobby. The breakfast was normally prepared. Snacks there also to acquire for the hunger for in between. However, the hostel is not for people with a light sleeper. Young people and groups are the main target group of this House. That's because even louder can be and at the later hour is this also probably right! However, committed staff that all satisfactory runs out. I recommend this hostel to all who want to explore Berlin alone or in a group. There, everything is centrally located and is connected with a direct subway station. The prices of the accommodation are OK and the price is right. Makes it! I shall book during my next visit to Berlin anyway again with you. There is probably the best point to discover Berlin quickly and at the same time cheap place to the sleep to find.

Have 5 days booked and cancelled 15 minutes after arrival as much as possible. We are right again departed the next day. The hostel is quite in need of renovation, the rooms are the price we pay (double room €66) really naughty. All quite old, colorful together provided, some makeshift repairs and just not to feel well. There are the 2 star just because the staff at reception was really nice and helpful.

On the whole, all bad except for the breakfast. Pure rip off want for money. 10 euros per day to Park what is Yes "preferred" according to receptionist. Around the corner you could for 4, 50/day parking! Then still a lock for the Cabinet 5 euro! No deposit! The so far worst hostel I ever was. Never again.

Yesterday we arrived at the Cityhostel Berlin, we got a tidy twin room with own shower/bathroom, the staff was very friendly and spoke fluently English. At the included breakfast was good. They offer free bed linen and towels, the hostel is located in the middle of Berlin and many sights are in walking distance. Despite of that they offer a bike rental, but unfortunatly it began to snow, so we had to use the tube. There is a billard and table soccer in the lobby and free wlan in the hostel an a bar. Great low-budget accomodation.

Nice but nothing special great location in the centre, good prices, breakfast and wi fi but small rooms. Not luxury but I would recomend.
