Today I depart for my trip home. I've been at the hotel for a week and I have to say that the staff made my first trip to Costa Rica one that I won't ever forget. They were extremely friendly and made me feel welcome. I can honestly say that I'm going to miss seeing some of them. I will definitely be coming back for another visit!

Super nice comfortable and clean rooms just like the other facilities. The attention and availability to help in any little thing of Don Nestor the pool lord, that gentleman has incredible energy and disposition! Regarding the meseros we were attended by a lady during breakfast Tania very friendly! But during the afternoon the coffeemakers had to wait too long and forget things were very busy and what was about 5 or 6 tables I had to wait more than 10 min for another beer to bring me, even a foreigner from the next table was upset. I love this hotel but I find that the attention in the bar rest should improve a little and be faster.

I loved the stay I had with my husband from late December to early January. This hotel is colonial bellisimo and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The buffets. Excellent. I loved everything about this hotel and would definitely recommend it 100% thanks.

I was at the hotel for four days. All the health protocols follow, the treatment/service as special and beautiful as ever, and as a woman staying alone, I felt very very safe! ❤️ It is an excellent choice near home and where one always feels at home. Thank you very much to all the staff! There were familiar faces, so that's good news too!

A great option if you need a night in San Jose near the airport. Conveniently located about 10 minutes from the airport. Plenty of on-site parking, a huge swimming pool, very friendly bilingual staff (English/Spanish) and a large breakfast buffet. I went with my family and it is family friendly. Quieter than some of the other hotels near the airport.

Good hotel very good breakfast, custom omlette, pool, helpful staff best people we're at the restaurant especially their manager, I had visited on business. It's close to America free zone and there is a hotel shuttle. Good to visit with family has well there were many guests with kids. Good gym and spa. Rooms are very good and clean.

Great place to stay while on business. The rooms were very spacious and extremely comfortable. The staff were so friendly and helpful with anything. The restaurant has a great breakfast buffet and great dinner menu. Was never there for lunch. Used their transportation service to go see downtown San Jose. They gave us great recommendations and our driver was very helpful. His name was Bryan and you should definitely ask for him by name. Really enjoyed my stay.

Stayed here many times. Staff is lovely. Food is great. Nice place with beautiful pool. Adjacent to golf course. Close to the airporr. Casino for those who like to gamble. Overall just really nice amenities. Drugstore and other restaurants short walk away.

First time in Costa Rica and this was the first place we stayed as we moved round the small country. At first I was not sure of the place but then after being this for a while I discovered the charm of this place. It is all open air with a nice staff and clean. It has amenities that I was not expecting with lots of open space to sit. I loved the place for all the extensive open areas. As I keep exploring I would keep finding more hidden treasures. There are stores right around it and a hard Rock Cafe 8 min Walk. The only drawbacks are that the hot tub is not hot.

Good easy location close to the airport. Clean spacious rooms. Good pool area. Great food at the restaurant. We had a great dinner and dessert. Continental breakfast had a good variety. Complementary cookies at check-in were fun and tasty.

Nice hotel/resort close to airport but very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. We ate breakfast and lunch and both meals were good with excellent wait staff service. Plenty of dining and shopping opportunities within walking distance of hotel. San Jose was an easy, 20 minute drive. We will definitely stay here again upon my return to Costa Rica.

A tourist hotel aimed squarely at the American tourists. A little old, but spacious and friendly. Breakfast buffet is the typical American fayre (every possible combination of eggs, flour and sugar + processed meat). Gym is small but well equipped. Coffee shop serves surprisingly good coffee. Wine by the glass is barely worthy of the name.

Resort life! Having just come off a long and unpleasant flight the warm welcome of the Hilton was a great reprieve. Hot showers, clean water, delicious food, and wonderful people. All the amenities you could hope for and if you're still skeptical just look at the photos of the pool.

Good service, good treatment on the part of the staff with the guests, I am with my dog and have been very friendly with my dog, I will definitely stay the next trip thanks.

Beautiful hotel near the airport but not too loud, I didn't hear a single plane. The room was gorgeous and well maintained with the usual amenities but also a patio with separate door access. The restaurant had delicious food and great service. For those with minimal Spanish ability (like myself) everyone I talked to was a fluent English speaker. I will certainly return!

I was only here for 1 night, but if I could give them 6+ stars I would. The staff made us feel welcomed and relaxed after our Journey from the U. S. To San Jose airport as they sent a taxi to pick us up. They offered a free happy hour for Hilton members and a free breakfast that was excellent. There is also a national rental car place across the street. Perfect place to stay near the San Jose airport!

Very clean and great location. Easy walking distance to Hard Rock, grocery, pizza, puband several good restaurants. Definitely like the tropical setting. Staff was very gracious and helpful. Only downside is the pool is a little chilly. Overall, great hotel.

#1: Service was pretty good: When my family and I first walked in, we loved that right away a man came to us and asked us for help with our luggage. #2: The location of our room was very far from where everything else was: Some rooms were closer but ours were especially far from the breakfast, front desk, and pool area. #3: The food service and number of food items were greatly appreciated: Though we are vegetarian, we got the food we needed when we'd asked, in enough amounts, with kind service.

Great room and service. Only thing is the free Continental breakfast is misleading since it only includes bread, cereal, cold cut meats, and beverages. The real breakfast is 10 USD more but is very much worth it since the food is amazing and authentic. Will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful place, I didn't know whether to stay to sleep in the delicious bed or go out to enjoy the place and their food, the drinks have a lot of liquor.

The grounds are impeccable! The staff is helpful. The rooms are very basic. The hot part of the breakfast lacks variety. The coffee is delish!

The hotel was good choice in general. The room was big with two big beds, tv, desk, large bathroom, save deposit box and also ironing board. During my stay I had to change my room as in the first I had issues with hot water. Appliances are a bit worn out — paint going off the bath tube, some stains here and there. Service was good, room was cleaned every day early in the morning. Make sure to put the sign on the door if you like to sleep longer. Restaurant and bar were good too. Breakfast was very nice however almost exactly the same every day. However everything was fresh and tasteful. Hotel is near airport but quite far from San Jose downtown.

Conveniently, the best hotel in Costa Rica. I have travel and stayed in several hotels, and find this location the easiest to everything within the country. The Management, service and cleaneness is far above any other places I have ever stayed. I very highly recommend this little paradise. Not to mention the oustanding food and far above rated staff.

The staff was so gracious and attentive to us. The crew at United was very impressed with the service and this hidden treasure. I would like to spend more time there. The restaurant was amazing. Great staff all around. They were professional, helpful and very friendly. Kudos to management.

Pretty good hotel, but bear in mind the Wi-Fi might not be the best. Service and food are good. But a little pricey (normal for a hotel). Location is good but might be far from and have some bad traffic going out. Finally do note some rooms do not have fridge.

Very nice and clean hotel. Lots of stuff in walking distance. Staff was not very helpful when asked about local places to visit. Don't go to the market like they say. Most locals don't even go. Try the theater.

This is a beautiful hotel with open air lobby and halls and Latin flavor in the very best way. Low and winding the property invites you to relax and wander the halls and courtyards.

Great hotel. Super staff. Amazing pool area. Super food. Great location. Very comfortable beds. Just twenty minutes from the airport. One question, why no fridge in the room?

The hotel itself is nice. All floors are handicapped accessible. The property has no elevators. The room itself was a large 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom suite. The rooms were very large; but in my opinion could have been better distributed. The main bathroom was stuffy and smelled of moisture/dampness.

I stayed in four hotels while visiting Costa Rica (including one next door) and would book this one again in a heartbeat. We arrived on the red eye and the let us check in early for a small fee and offered us breakfast for another small fee. We lugged our bags over to our two bedroom suite and enjoyed the best breakfast of the three we had there. The staff in the morning seems to prefer patrons that speak Spanish. We ended up making my husband and son do all of the ordering when we caught on! The room was clean and they rolled a refrigerator in that held the food we purchased at the neighboring grocery store. Enjoyed some snacks/beer at the executive lounge the first night and a more formal party the second. Both a great addition for gold or higher members. Ate at the restaurant one night and the bar the second night. Food was affordable & learned to drink the Imperial beer quickly as Import taxes must be a beast in Costa Rica. We did eat at a nearby restaurant for lunch and enjoyed it also. Nice staff minus the transportation desk. Easy to lounge around the pool or hot tub and meet other guests. We didn't use the Casino so I can't say much on that. The gift shops seem to have the same stuff as the airport gift shops.

Great food and drink. Great area and the rooms are nice and cool. The room to pool set up is really nice. Casino is a plus if you like to gamble but it's small.

Excellent staff and a beautiful hotel makes this one of the best I have ever stayed at. Vivian, the hostess for breakfast, is a wonderful person and is always encouraging you when you are practicing your Spanish. The bar staff in the evening are very attentive and full of life. The desk, house keeping and security staff are all very friendly and happy as well.
Simply put this Double Tree is the gold standard for customer service.

The hotel was comfortable and served its purpose. The AC in the room I was in was malfunctioning, but because my stay was so short I didn't mind. However Wi-Fi was an added cost of $10 US per night if you're not a HHonors member (I am) however because the hotel was booked on rewards points from another agency I did not qualify for any of my usual HHonors benefits. This is inconsistent with treatment I have received ay other Hilton properties regarding this issue, and is unfair to the customer.

This Doubletree was so nice we hated to leave! We flew into San Jose and spent one day and night at the Doubletree Cariari by Hilton San Jose. It's just minutes from the Airport so it's a good location if you are not wanted to travel too far from Juan Santamaría International Airport. I wish we had another day as we didn't get a chance to really see San Jose. We've stayed at many Doubletree's before as we always try to stay at the Hilton family of hotels and this Doubletree by far was the most luxurious one we stayed at. It is not very showy on the outside, but that like the cover and book and judging before you go in etc. Once inside the floors, walls everywhere you would find well maintained wooden floors and fixtures. That's not common at the doubletrees we've stayed in the USA. There was a large pool with a dining area overlooking the pool area. We did get a chance to enjoy the fairly large Hot tub. The beds were ultra comfortable. We usually use the rooms to sleep, shower change and then go out so we are not that picky as far as rooms go, but this one was outstanding. Since we are Gold level Hilton Honors members we had the opportunity to visit the Executive lounge a few times for complimentary wine and Horderves and light dinner. Breakfast I'll have to say was one of the nicest we had while staying in Costa Rica. Lot's of fresh fruit and many items to choose from. A great way to start our visit to this Central American country.

You receive a cookie with pecans, warm chocolate chips. The breakfast buffet is very good. The attention is good in general.

Great place! Very helpful, polite, eager to please. Very friendly. Be mindful when traveling to foreign countries;be very pleasant to them and they will bend over backwards for you. Everyone greets you: greet them back. Many speak English. Our room included full breakfast buffet and chef to make your eggs/omelette any way you want. Nice rooms with tile floors, large bathroom (enough room for 2). Slippers provided!
Very peaceful; you hear birds singing including a flock of really small parrots. If relaxing at the pool, you do hear the highway a little but it's ok; sometimes an airplane. The hotel reminds me of a Disney type of hotel because of the decor (a less expensive version of a mixture of the Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian).

I visit now and then Costa Rica and I have relatives that lives there. I stayed at the hotel for the first time and they were courteous at the front desk. For the price I didn't expect less, the hotel is cozy, peaceful and the bed of my room very comfortable and welcoming, the pillows are nice and have perfect firmness the bedsheets soft and super clean. I am generally very allergic to dust no allergies on my stay, clean carpets good AC unit and had TV, cable and Internet.

While the hotel was ok, this place did not go above and beyond at all for the price paid… the casino was closed while we were there (not sure why) and to top it off, when we tried to take a taxi to dinner, they charged us $20 to drive around for less than 10 minutes then brought us back to the hotel! (the place we asked for was apparently closed but nobody at the hotel informed us of this). If you want any help booking excursions, reservations or anything of that sort stay elsewhere… this place provided NO help whatsoever despite our asking for help numerous times. However, the Wyndham hotel (like 100m away) had several people who helped us out even though we weren't staying there… draw your own conclusions…

I had a destination wedding, and anyone who has had one knows what a nightmare it can be without the proper team. My journey began by reserving the proper ballroom and getting room blocks. Gloriana Bonilla and Ronald Ramirez both were incredibly helpful and ALWAYS available for any changes, upgrades and cancellations. Next came the actual wedding planning (i. E. Choosing chairs, vendors, etc) and Nathalie Sandoval, as the event coordinator, helped me every step of the way, if not I'd even say she held my hand (I was freaking out about everything). When we finally arrived to Costa Rica with 80 out-of-town guests in 2 buses, check-in and everything in between flowed seamlessly. When the big day arrived, they even gifted me a huge conference room where all my girls got ready. We didn't get married at the hotel (we traveled to gorgeous Zarcero for the ceremony) but everything was perfect at the reception when we got back. The food was delicious and beautifully plated and the service was impeccable. I'd definitely recommend the DoubleTree by Hilton Cariari and entrust them in making your event special, as the staff is very kind, and most importantly highly efficient.

Excellent stay for all my business trips. Friendly staff, clean rooms, and centrally located but away from the hustle and bustle of San Jose. Food in restaurant is good, always have taxis available, and beds are extremely comfortable!

I really liked it for being a cheap hotel and the traffic noise, the natural is very beautiful and very american seems to be scrambled in the public market of the ticos.

The ribeye wasn't good but the next day the manager made up for it by offering a replacement meal on the house. I highly recommend the french onion soup which was a 8 out 10 in my book. The double jack and diet was watered down also. I recommend getting the singles. UPDATE — I tried the breakfast the very next day and it was awesome.

Good hotel, very nice open 1970s architecture, spacious rooms, super comfortable beds, friendly staff, nice American style breakfast buffet, dinner menu is good too. A bit outside of the city center in a quiet safe residential area. So you'd need a rental car if you don't want to depend on cabs. Cariari shopping mall with supermarket and big foodcourt is nearby (walking distance).

Finishing a 10 day award stay for our elopement/honeymoon. Very clean & comfortable, typical DoubleTree standards. Nearly all staff are bilingual fluently. Dining staff were very attentive and nice… and the food was delicious morning, noon and night. Pool facing rooms can be noisy late into the night. Convenient to downtown, however hired car rates are steep — $23 USD for the 7 minute ride. If you can brave the roads like we did, rent a car (bring a GPS unit from home! ) Overall, pleased with our stay. And San Jose was much much cooler than the coasts (which are fairly easy day trips from central location).

Well it's not the intention but I wonder in which part of heredia.

We have been given a hbitacion that gives the ctra main and frankly they are missing the double windows because the noise of the trucks is tremendous. It is not anything of another world.

The Hotel though has a beautiful infrastructure has a lot to be desired in many aspects, as for example the food. Although it is a buffet the options are too limited and every day is the same food.
