Very good facilities very good the attention of its people. Excellent attitude of service and always with a smile and willing to help. The Furniture in the rooms outdated, can be improved. Very good coffee at breakfast. Good price/quality ratio. If you want to visit San Jose is complicated the road is always traffic, advantages to 10 minutes from the airport and from the provinces.

This hotel is absolutely the best place to stay if you plan to be in San Jose. Welcoming, exceptional service and attention to detail. Our room was the nicest hotel room I have ever stayed in. I have travelled the world as a professional actress and brand ambassador and stayed in hundreds of hotel rooms and this hotel room was the absolute best. The room even had a sauna inside it. I had no idea this type of luxury was even possible in San Jose. I was astonished at every incredible detail at this hotel. Thank you to the amazing staff and the managers. Our stay was totally perfect and relaxing. Anything is possible at the Wyndham San Jose Herradura! It's close to everything, including the airport. Book directly with the hotel to get the best rates.

Sophisticated feel when you first enter the hotel. Like many hotels the staff was very professional and helpful. The bellboys were prompt to help you with your bags, even before checking in. This hotel is one of the few in San Jose that provide a shuttle service to the airport which is the prime reason we decided to stay at Wyndham. There are about 5 pools in the facility, a spa and the hotel is next door to the casino and the hard Rock cafe. If you are feeling venturess there is a walk over bridge above the high way which takes you directly to the near by mall and many westernised restaurants to eat such as McDonald's and apple bees. If you like to shop, there is also a forever 21 in the mall. Prime location for sure. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your goal is to stay for a short term within the city, especially if you have an early flight the next morning!

Nice place, but for the price I consider the best alternative Double Tree Cariari or house Inn.

Nice place but seemed like clean floors/tile walls in bathroom weren't important. Breakfast buffet daily was good but needs more variety daily. Stayed for two weeks and same meal each morning got old. Pool was nice but swim up bar not open even on weekends which was disappointing. Overall nice place to stay.

They room they have us looked like it hadn't been renovated in two or three decades. The couch was oily and gross. Springs could be seen pushing through the top surface of the mattress. There was a disgusting stain on the wall of the bathroom near the toilet. Looked like someone had defecated on the wall. Outside the room the ceiling was covered in black mold and was collapsing around a lighting fixture that had obvious water damage. Could believe Wyndham would allow a hotel with their name on it to be offered to the public in such awful condition. I was very concerned about the possibility of bed bugs and had some strange bites on my arms and legs the next day. Please take this warning and stay anywhere else.

Excellent place… exquisite food and the best is the attention. An experience that I would really like to repeat… recommended for both nationals and foreigners.

Ceiling falling in hallway. Stains on walls, carpet and couch. Can feel springs through mattress. No such thing as a "tower room. " Room was hot and AC wouldn't go below 24.5c (76f). Light switches falling out of wall. Room seems from 1980's and never updated.

Nice lobby but the rooms and everything else is very outdated and musty. The breakfast buffet looked good, though we only had the fruit. The pool and jacuzzi were freezing cold — we were looking forward to another swim before our flight but sadly couldn't with the frigid water. The gym is a joke. No equipment except for a few cheap and old bikes/treadmill. It's okay for the price, just don't expect too much.

Good starting point for a round trip, in a few minutes at the airports.

Excellent hotel. Only drawback is that they apparently use robots in internal chat. I consulted and they didn't solve me.

Dated hotel with a modern facade cc accepted. Parking available. Free airport shuttle service available between 6am to 9:45pm. No shuttle service to San Jose downtown (20-30 min. Taxi ride). On-site casino. On-site restaurants. 2 Outdoor swimming pools. Dated interior. Worn-out infrastructures. Friendly staff. Front desk staff can speak fluent English. Dated but spacious room. In-room safe available.

For conventions it's very good.

Love this place. We had a junior suite and it was certainly everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable the only strange thing was their jacuzzi which is usually hot bubbling water was ice cold bubbling water and they said it was because the weather is traditionally hot there that most people like the jacuzzi ice cold. I don't know if that is typically the way people use a hot tub. I don't think so but other than that it was great. Excellent spread for the breakfast that was included and nice to have the casino and small restaurant attached.

Special for activities a little expensive but worth it.

Overall disappointed with my stay here. The hotel is fine, but a few things added up to make it a bit annoying. Breakfast is always too busy to find a table, so you're left wandering around like an idiot checking to see if a table is free, or the person is just up at the buffet. Then check in and out is very slow, which is annoying if you just need your key refreshed as it stopped working. Then the jacuzzi is right in front of the breakfast / bar, so it feels a bit strange to use them. Also — the gym is terrible as nothing works. The good though — had taxis that I could just charge to the room, and the room service was decent. Bed was comfortable and lots of channels on the TV. I was here on business so didn't get the best out of this hotel, would be better for pleasure.

The hotel is very nice. Staffs are very friendly. Rooms are clean and comfortable. There are a lot of restaurant around. And the hotel is close to a highway. But I was very frustrated at the hotel for 2 reasons. For a hotel of this standing, the Wi-Fi connection in my room was so slow that I cannot upload 10 mb. I could not work at all. And using Google Maps to reach the hotel was impossible.

Well located, close to a square with very varied shops. It has an excellent Japanese restaurant that you can't miss. The hotel was very comfortable. It allows you to take an excellent memory of Costa Rica. It has free airport service.

"Refined, upscale resort"? I beg to differ. When I came into my room there was loud music coming from the room above me. I immediately called and was told that it was a party but would be ending. I was also told there were no other rooms available except on the 4th floor where the music was coming from. The answer to my complaint that the music is getting louder and louder is "my manager is not here. " When I asked what my refund for the hours of sleep I am not getting would be, guess what the response was? Now they can get me a different room. This after I am already unpacked, cleaned up and in bed? They refused to offer it before 9:50pm? It's a hotel. I want to sleep. I'm so tired.

Staff very friendly and helpful. On the other hand the room is dated and the complex… Its asset is to be close to the airport and offer a shuttle.

I needed a rental car and discovered the hotel has a small rental car iffice inside. We received excellent customer service and got a fair price for our rental without a reservation. The hotel is spotless and clearly a high end place to stay.

Have been staying in this hotel for years when I visit CR. They have been in renovation mode the last few years. Clean comfortablertable rooms. A little dated but beds are newer and very comfortable. Staff is friendly. Breakfast is fantastic.

I would call this the catfish hotel. After 8 days in various other resorts I was expecting a nice stay at a wyndham at the very in. Don't let the pretty modern facade from the road set the tone of this resort. The hard rock and casino/resturants were all very nice but it is also the first things you come up to. It all looks good from the outside until you step into the back where you a greeted with a 1980's dilapitated look that extends to the dirty old rooms. I was staying at a wyndham where I expected there to be a standard but I was wrong. I will attach some pictures. Don't be fooled by the beautiful website after complaining that the web pictures were not the room that I booked I was moved to a 3rd floor room that was a little better but still not up to even 2000's standards. Besides the room the grounds were full of ugly sites, chipped pool tiles, falling down walls, rust roofs, wet old furniture strewn around the resort, mold everywhere even the pool. It was a bad site and it will keep me from booking at a wyndham again if this is how they do business.

Stayed here one night. Friendly staff and good breakfast in the morning. Would reccomend staying here if you're passing through San Jose, the shuttle will pick you right up from the airport.

Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Hotel was not as advertised. You can tell it used to be nice in the 80's maybe, but many parts of the hotel were run down, falling apart, moldy etc. On the bright side, there were two very small water bottles in the room complimentary and a free shuttle service to the airport that only takes 15 minutes in traffic. There may be a nicer building available to stay in, so it may be recommended to request that if at all possible.

Had an easy time checking in. No elevators so you will need to haul your luggage up a flight of stairs. Our bathroom had a corner shower that leaked onto our bathroom floor while using it. Jetted tub was nice. Hot tub and pool area were great. Breakfast was consistently good. Nice gift shop, casino and large entry you can gather. Easy walk across the bridge to the mall.

I liked the Wyndham Hotel because the service there was unspeakably quick! Although I only know a limited amount of Spanish, I didn't have a hard time communicating with the staff. The rooms are exquisite, they have a decent amount of space, large bathrooms, TV's, coffee makers, and amazing views. The pools at Wyndham are amazing, they aren't too deep so kids can easily swim in them, the water is at a decent temperature, and there is a mini waterfall in one of them. There are 4 hot tubs, they are in one big hot tub that has half a foot of water around it. I recommend this hotel to anyone staying in San Jose, Costa Rica and looking for a nice hotel.

Hotel near the airport with good breakfast, bath seemed sloppy but otherwise all is correct.

Old rooms, horrific service, crowded, and dirty. Need I say more?

Room was run down and bathroom was terrible. Shower was nasty looking and white tiled floor was discusting. Water pressure in shower was awful and hot and cold were backwards. Very dissatisfied. Entrance, lobby areas, and pool were nice but rooms NOT worth the price!

I attended a conference and everything went very well.

Just right if you are looking to be well connected. The rooms were clean but the bathtub while taking a jacuzzi needs to be reformed because it is not able to hold the water and the jets are falling to the pieces. The breakfast just right. Little variety of fresh fruit (only watermelon, papaya and apple). Anything pineapple? pastries not home and little variety of sausage (only one type)
The staff was very friendly and attentive. Not dined at any of their restaurants but if we use a few minutes to the casino. The Hard Rock gives you a 10% discount with the room key. We had dinner there two times. The connection with the airport is the best. They offer shuttle service for free every hour.

A hotel with infrastructure for many years, but well preserved, only need some details of renovation, the room very clean and nice, like the attention in the breakfast area and pool is very nice only I repeat details of finishes.

We stayed here as a family and the hotel rooms were above average in terms of quality and price. Probably typical for this chain. The beds were very comfortable, and the hotel quiet. The staff that served us in all areas of the hotel were very professional, helpful and kind. Our Spanish is limited, but we were able to get by without any issue. Our children were super excited by the prospect of the pools, and even the hot pools, but we were disappointed to learn that because there had been no sun for days, the pools were cold — they are solar heated. And by cold, they were too cold to swim in. The hot tubs were also solar heated apparently, and extremely cold, not even lukewarm. Breakfast was available to all guests, included in the stay, and this is one of the best breakfasts I have had anywhere that I am aware of. So much great food. A lot of traditional options including gallo pinto and eggs, bacon, and more. Great selection of fresh fruits and cheese as well. My flight in was late, and there was no shuttle at that hour unfortunately, so it cost me $20 for a taxi. It was a five minute ride and should have been $5 or less for those that are not familiar. It is VERY close to the airport… this of course is not the fault of the hotel, but the greedy taxi drivers ;) Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The rooms for the price were fine. It was a pretty good location. Breakfast was delicious. The Alamo salesperson was very helpful. The tourist information person constantly had open on her door but the door was closed and she was sleeping under her desk at some point for the whole entire time we were there. The employees in the bar will close it down at 10:45 on a Friday night despite having a full bar because they want to go home. The Hard Rock Cafe was closed for private events two of the nights we were there. If you wanna do anything in or around the hotel after 9 or 10:00pm you are pretty much out of luck.

It was a wonderful experience at here. Air Conditioner was nice and cool; Beautiful view of the mountains and the pool area;Staff was very friendly even though they don't all speak English; pools were beautiful and we ate rice and beans and eggs with sausage among other things for breaklfast; my wife and I want to come back!

Great hotel with excellent staff and family friendly features. Loved all the pools, included breakfast, fast Wi-Fi. Location is nice with short walk over the bridge to the mall.

The casino is a joke. If you are a tourist they will try and rip you off every way possible. The lady at the cash window was rude and ignorant. We were only in the casino a short amount of time but we won over $200.00. When we went to cash out the lady took a pen and wrote a comma on the ticket, so it read $20, 0.00. She told us it was in colognes but yet it had a US dollar sign. We knew we were getting ripped off and wanted to speak with someone else and the lady said there was no one we could speak with. I will never be back and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

We liked this hotel. Pool area was amazing and we didn't expect the casino. The staff were great.

Love the pool area. Having the ability to have tours pick you up at he hotel is the best.
