Great location, marvelous attention, and must mention the pool is beautifully designed, and right across the street a public beach that can't get away from local vendor, nothing unusual from any touristic place, I don't mind at all. Taxis are always available and there no shortage of locations to visit very near. Many places to eat and to shop around, love it!

This is one of the most wonderful and cleanest places to stay. They do everything to keep you safe and comfortable. The beach is right across the street. The food was magnificent, I ate there everynight. The bartender Juan was excellent and went above and beyond for my drink A wonderful experience.

Beautiful building along the beach. Great service the moment we arrived. Professional service, clean and sparkling building. Wished we used more of their amenities as all was terrific. Fantastic views of downtown and of course the beach! Definitely plan to return!

The hotel was very nice and in a decent location. The pool was great but get there early if you want a good spot. The low rating is due to the service we experienced. The house keeping was okay. We never were given more wash clothes than what were there the first night. The coffee wasn't replenished we had to go to the front desk and ask for more to be sent up. The BIGGEST disappointment was room service. We don't normally use room service when staying in hotels but this time we did and will not be doing it again, at least certainly not at an Intercontinental Hotel. When I called the women on the other line didn't speak English that well, which was difficult because some of the options on the menu are similar sounding. We went back and forth for a while until I was sure she understood what I wanted. Over 30 minutes passed and the food finally came. My wife told me what to order so I didn't know exactly what we had ordered. But when she saw it, she realized it wasn't the right order. Nothing on the plate was what we ordered. Even what it could have been confused with wasn't it. I called back, same women. She put me on "hold" which was actually hanging up. We walked to the front desk where we knew they spoke English. After some time there we thought they finally understood. They tried to tell us that it was only half of the order and the other half was on its way.

Excellent attention, good treatment of the passengers, only a great detail, in this place, our credit card was cloned, only the deal in that location to pay extra expenses of the room, I sent mail and still not receive a response with an explanation, I hope to not only promote how nice the place but also see the claims by this unexpected event.

Excellent location, in front of a very nice beach. 10 minutes from the centre. Very good kitchen. VIP lounge to spend good time with drinks and snacks. Rooms are very comfortable. Attention very good and good service. Very good price/quality ratio. I recommend it fully.

Loved this hotel right on the beach and in the center of the action in Cartagena. We were on the 27th floor with an amazing view. Rooms were very large and breakfast was included. If you tired of the infinity pool on the sixth floor you can just walk over to the beach and rent an umbrella and chairs for a nominal fee, all day. People will come by and offer all kinds of trinkets, food and beer…

How all of the intercontinental excellent location very comfortable room with everything you need for a superb view linens were spotless and soft padded in the bath you get everything you need no need to carry or take up space in the suitcase are very good quality the beach I love the you get when you cross the street you have a swimming pool to enjoy and wait for the sunset, taking a rich cocktail gym, the breakfast with local dishes all good at the other end of the hotel is the street from multiple restaurants, discos, handicraft pharmacy stop a few Tour that are super fun bus with music, drinks, musical instruments, hats had a great time.

It's a traditional hotel. Its facilities have been renovated and it feels comfortable and elegant. The staff is friendly. Their restaurants are nice and the food is good.

Excellent and friendly. It is highly recommended for my friends. I'll be back without a doubt. Thank you very much all the hotel staff.

It is a modern hotel, with presence on the beaches of Boca Grande in Cartagena. Neighbor of the NAO Mall. The Hotel also works with spacious, well-lit conference rooms.

This was the worst hotel experience. The staff was unpleasant and complimentary water could not even be given. We were 3 people and were charged extra to have the third person in the room and they did not even offer us water as such. One of the many disappointments of the hotel. It was just not worth the money! If we were to visit Colombia again we would definitely stay in the old town.

100% do not recommend. I paid in advance when I made my reservation. Once, I checked out I was again charged for my stay.

I had a wonderful experience overall. I was upgraded to a king suite, which was super nice. The included club lounge had breakfast and drinks / snacks in the evening, daily except for Sundays. The location was very good, though the near by beaches have a lot of vendors that can be annoying. The pool is really cool and has a great sunset view. I look forward to returning.

Service: Excellent, super friendly and warm employees. Very good quality of food. The infinity pool is the most! An important detail, the sun does not give complete in this area, the height of the same hotel makes shade. A shame because considering that it is on a 6th floor, is less hot and the water does not get to heat. Although there is a small pool with a depth of about 0, 65 cm you can take and that if it is warm.
The rooms are very comfortable, the mattress and the pillows are amazing.

Very nice hotel, has a swimming pool with view to the sea, the restaurant Kanuu delicious, has a fitness center very well equipped with very comfortable rooms, you will not get 5 stars for that on our stay we had to ask for replacement towels and utensils in the bathroom after toilet and on another occasion we had to ask for replacement also the bottles of water for the coffee…

Perfectly average. At the price we paid, it's a robbery. Restaurant was horrible. We gave it two tries but it was bad or at the very best substandard. Noisy much of the time. Also just too far to walk back from downtown. Next time, we'll get a different place.

Stay by the beach in Cartagena! Modern hotel with a connection to the adjacent mall. Pool or ocean? Your choice! Pickup a towel from the pool house and walk out ot the hotel straight into the local beach. A set of beach umbrella and 2 chais-longs will cost you 20000 pessos ($7) but you can stay all day in a safe and pleasant environment. The rooms are well appointed, spacious and clean, Juan Valdez coffee pod machines in each room, iron and ironing table. Breakfast included — buffet style — lots of lical fruits, sweets and usual cheeses and hams, an omelette bar included. Walk into the small mall for espressos at OMA or Juan Valdez. Ask your concierge for a trip with the party bus Chiva… Enjoy your stay!

Our visit started out a little rocky but ended on a pleasant note. The rocky start could have been avoided so I'm hoping management will read this and learn from it. When we were checking in, I asked for smaller currency so I can tip the Porter (he was waiting to bring our luggage up to the room). The front desk agent said he didn't have smaller currency to exchange. I asked if he could check with his colleagues at the front desk. He did and they said no. I was quite surprised by this because it's my own experience, hotels are able to provide smaller currency. He suggested I check with the bar. Bar said no. He then suggested the restaurant. They said no. At this point, we told the Porter we couldn't tip him. As nicely as I could, while trying to keep my temper under control, I asked to speak to a manager. I was introduced to her. I explained the situation and she was able to provide me smaller currency. Does something like this have to reach the level of a manager? I was incredibly frustrated and I hadn't even stepped into my room yet. After finally settling the currency issue, we were escorted to my room. I booked a standard ocean view. When we got there, the room was still being serviced. We went back to the front desk for another room assignment. When we arrived, there seemed to be another manager present who witnessed the currency issue and who was already aware of the room situation. She apologized and upgraded us to a superior ocean view. Larger room. Higher floor.

My first InterContiental and my last. The bathroom door wouldn’t close. The glass was broken in the door. When we asked to change rooms. We were denied. When we asked for someone to fix it no one ever did after repeated requests. The window glass from the dinning room is also broken near the pool. A very very poorly built hotel. It looks like no one looked over the constructors work. There were also chips out of the center table in the room. You can’t drink the water in this hotel. The hotel will only give you two small bottles and every other bottle is $10 usd. Such a rip off. This hotel is also way too far from the action of the city. Stick to a hotel inside the “old city” inside the wall. You’ll have a much better time. Mi primer InterContiental y mi pasado. No cierre la puerta del baño. El vidrio se rompió en la puerta. Cuando se pide cambio de sala. Nos negó. Cuando hemos preguntado a alguien arreglarlo nadie nunca lo hizo después de reiteradas peticiones. También se rompe el vidrio de la ventana de la sala cerca de la piscina. Un hotel muy, muy mal construido. Parece que nadie miraba sobre el trabajo de constructores. Hubo también chips fuera de la mesa de centro en la sala. No se puede beber el agua en este hotel. El hotel sólo le dará dos pequeñas botellas y cada botella de otros es de $10 usd. Tal un rip off. Este hotel está también muy lejos de la acción de la ciudad. Pegan a un hotel dentro de la "vieja ciudad" dentro de la pared.

I'll cut right to the chase for those wanting to book this hotel: don't. If you don't care about the safety of your valuable and hard-earned money, then I highly recommend this hotel to unload some of that heavy cash weighing down your wallet or purse. That's what happened to us. We had money in the safe and it was stolen by hotel staff that apparently double as thieves when they're in your room. The corrupt hotel staff were all protecting each other and didn't want to admit to their crime. The so-called Security Manager Isaac as well as the managers on duty were completely and utterly unhelpful with banter amounting to "it's your word against ours. " Newsflash managers: cash is easy to steal without a good trace, whereas other valuables in the safe maybe not so much. If we wanted to get robbed, we would have stayed at a 2 star, not here. Oh wait, that's what we did earlier on our trip and nothing was taken! You read that right, there is more integrity in a lower class hotel than this abomination of the hospitality industry. I hope that someone is disciplined up to and including termination of their employment at this ridiculous and sorry excuse for a luxury establishment. No where in the world is this ok, especially when you're paying so much for a hotel. I hope you're ashamed of yourselves for allowing this to happen at a supposedly reputable hotel chain. This completely ruined our otherwise incredible visit to Colombia. Thanks for nothing InterContinental Cartagena.

Great clean rooms, beautiful view, good service for the most part. Breakfast underwhelming.

I have stayed several times, the physical plant is excellent, impeccable and well equipped. The Convention halls are very good. Well-distributed and neat rooms. Helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel is nice and clean, the staff at hotel are very helpful and polite, the reasons I only give this hotel only 4 stars are because there are no balcony in rooms and the windows can’t be opened even though all the rooms have a very nice ocean view, but no balcony or window to open It remind me of Vegas hotels. The beach doesn't belong to the hotel, it is a public beach, there is no service from the hotel at the beach such as chair, towel, shower, drink and food, so you have to bring cash with you and figure out a way to hide it somewhere or get a very good zip lock bag. You will be taken advantage of when you rent a seat and order a drink from the people who operate the area on the beach. If you do not negotiate and agree for the price of the service beforehand, even with that expect to pay double to triple what the local pay. One more thing, you will be offered service and things to buy every 2 minutes, My advise is NOT to agree to any service such as foot massage or buy any thing from the people, if you do, they would be a line of people trying to take advantage of you. Over all the hotel is nice and the beach is OK with the grey soft sand and clear warm water.

Eh not gone to stay, but if you to various events and it is spectacular, it has an elegance and brutal though it looks small on the outside, inside it is very spacious and has a very good customer service, the lounges are full and the service is great.

The hotel generally had the best times, so renovations are underway outside. The pool area is beautiful but is not really maintained during the day, so there are used cloths lying around everywhere.
The rooms are actually nice but a vacuum cleaner would be some really good. For me, something angular that the pillow suits were too small and not locked (pillows looked out).
For safety, nothing happened, but you actually get to the rooms without a room key, as well as to the pool area.
Rooms have a hair dryer and a safe.
The Wi-Fi is really great in Entree, Lobby and the rooms.

Amazing and spacious room, with very comfortable beds. Big pool with a nice view of the beach and the walled city, open until late at night so you can go swim after you spend the day at the beach. The restaurant food is of the best gourmet level and with good pricing. The hotel is literally in front of the beach, and next to a mall that has good stores, a food court, a movie theater, and a Juan Valdez. There are other stores and restaurants in the blocks next to the hotel, and downtown walled city is just 10 minutes on a 3-dollar taxi ride. Best hotel I've ever stayed at.

My family just got home from a wonderful vacation, staying at this place. The staff was amazing! Very single person that we had contact with was polite and helpful. The room was beautiful and the view of the beach and sea was amazing! We would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

Lovely hotel right on beach. Great value. Downside is there is no valet and parking is a hassle.

Rooms are very well appointed, clean and modern. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Value for your dollar is exceptional. The only fault I could mention is with the amount of vicious vendors on the public beach out front.

If you want BAD really BAD service estay at this hotel. You will have the worst experience for a supposedly 5 star. Also guests are mostly backpackers that smoke and are all over the place. Looking dirty and disgusting. I will never again stay in an intercontinental hotel in the world. Not to mention that in Cartagena the beach is full of local selling stuff and you will have to say NO every 30 seconds. I will strongly recommend if you want to relax go to Dominican or Cancun.
