Location, price, atmosphere. Super relaxed, very warm and welcoming, in truth I loved his treatment of the place is well-connected to the price, safe, close to the metro to move around the city freely. How mexican I felt very well-xq strive to help you and understand you and there are Spanish-speaking and that is great.!

Amazing guests, amazing staff. Everyone is amazingly kind and welcoming.

Had so much fun! In such a nice part of the city. Restaurants surround it and nothing is too far a walk! The employees are so kind and helpful.

Really good hostel. Free breakfast and laundry (detergent not included, only 1 washer/dryer). Great location, close to greyhound bus terminal and berri uqam metro station. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Limited amenities (2 toilet stalls each for male/ female) but was never crowded for me, a bit tedious to get to since they are located in the basement and my room was located on the 3rd floor (stairs only, but hey more exercise). The room was fine, the portable air conditioning was a bit noisy but better than a stuffy room. Would stay again.

This hostel has a very friendly and welcoming staff who take the time to explain everything to you. The building is older but has a very friendly feel to it. There are planned activities for you to get involved in if you wish. There is no air conditioning which can make it a bit warm at times. They offer free laundry washing facilities and breakfast which is a perk go this hostel.

Great hostel. The staff are a lot of fun and the other guests are too! I met loads of great people here. The atmosphere is excellent, with a big area to chill out, plus the basement and terrace on the roof. The rooms were good and above average beds and linen. The building is antiquated but the amenities are in good condition. The location is great, right in the Gay Village, which is pretty central and within walking distance of loads of things such as Old Montreal, Mont Royal, Saint Laurent and Downtown. I'd recommend this place for outgoing and easygoing travellers. If you're going to complain about the Wi-Fi connection dropping or that the walls haven't been painted recently then you'd probably miss the point of this hostel and should probably get a hotel in the area.

I stayed for 2 nights in a dorm, nothing fancy, but perfect for just sleeping. But what I really enjoyed was the friendly staff who creates a pleasant and homely atmosphere, that makes you feel like you belong. They are the reason you should go here.

The place is a little dated and there are a few things that need to be updated on, but overall I would recommend and definitely come back to this hostel. Everyone is super friendly, the rooms are clean, and the vibe is quite eclectic. I stayed for two nights with my friends and we loved it. It is secured with keycard and codes access, and there is always staff around. The breakfast in the morning is a nice touch as well. Thank you for the awesome stay :)

We loved our three-night stay at Hostel Alexandrie! The location, right near Gay Village and Parc La Fontaine, is a great place in the city. The hostel hosts free/cheap social events, and some of the staff made a point of welcoming and befriending new guests, so we got to know the staff and many fellow guests that way — — it felt like we had a group of friends at the hostel. The kitchen facilities were great, dorms were clean — overall great experience!

Cool place to live when in Montreal. Close to tourist sites and Bixi station, friendly people, good breakfast, Wi-Fi was great in my room. It just feels like home. Thanks for hosting me!

The hostel is very clean has everything neat, excellent place, comfortable, includes breakfast, wonderful people who make you feel at home, the bedrooms are too comfortable if you travel alone, has laundry service and above all is at a very good cost, apart from being in a central part of Montreal, I loved the place in every way, highly recommended.

The space to live is super friendly and sharing with the other tenant that makes it easy I recommend Alexandria.

Lots of room to upgrade and the prices are deceptive, but the location is fantastic and the employees are nice. The truth if you get out of a hurry.

Many times I go to Montreal and I stay faithful to Alexandria! Super Comfort sofa that I would like to sting, staff at the top! Location close to everything, I recommend!

By far one of the best hostels that I've stayed in and I've travelled plenty! The staff from the very beginning were super helpful and offering tons of suggestions of things we can do and places to eat. I loved the common area of the hostel as a place to relax and hang out during some down time. There were always people around to chat with, but it was never to loud if you wanted to sleep.

Nice place, warm and festive, it's big and near restaurants, bars and close to the subway, nice staff too, it's really clean, free breakfast and the room are nice, it's a really good place to stay!

Superb hostel super quiet and welcoming, in the heart of Montreal, a nice experience. Staff Super Nice.

Hands down the best hostel I've ever stayed at. This place is more than bed and breakfast. It has a family vibe and the common area is a great place to make amazing friends. Stayed here for 4 months and I loved every bit of it and met so many great people. It has some downsides, such as: some rooms don't have bathrooms in them. And the kitchen might be a bit small but it's well equipped nonetheless. If you're looking for the best B&B in Montreal to make great connections and you don't care about fancy accommodation. This is the place for you.

So I go to a lot of hostels, I enjoyed the free breakfast before 11 A. M. Roll a dice to get a discount if your a frequent customer but the beds are stiff but you get rest you need, sort of, the workers are good. I'd still come back.

Easy location, smooth check-in and check-out process. Private double suites are legit full apartments with laundry machines, kitchen and all. Place was clean and secure. Good experienced.

The staff here is always friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable. They offer a variety of room layouts for groups of various sizes. The location is great, it's an easy walk or short cab ride to anywhere downtown or the old port. If you're looking for affordable, comfortable and convenient accommodations I couldn't recommend Alexandrie more. I would call it "no-frills" but they do offer free Wi-Fi, a simple breakfast and the rooms all have an eclectic charm.

I had never stayed in a hostel before staying at Alexandrie and I was a little nervous as I had booked a mixed gender eight-bed dorm. It was honestly such a fun experience! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. If you’re in the city for a few days, I definitely recommend this hostel. If you book through their website, you get an extra discount when you arrive!

Place is clean and good people. They appreciate when you book through their own website and give you a discount at arrival. Weird thing is they make you leave the common area between 11.30 and 12 pm which kind of defeats the purpose of a hostel… If you want to socialise you'll have to resort to the basement. For anyone who's been to hostels before, this is more than odd. Cheers.

Such a wonderful sense of community I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone looking to experience many cultures and amazing memories.

It is a very hippie comfortable and well organized place, could only improve the visual experience.

Great location close to Rue St. Catherine and all of their patios, clubs, restaurants and minutes from the Metro. The staff were very friendly and understanding. Breakfast is minimal, and so are the rooms but have all the amenities that you need, and for a bit extra there are more luxuries available (like A/C and an in-suite kitchen). Very good place to stay in the heart of downtown for good prices.

Great service and pretty chill environment. I had a room with a single bed. Room comes with a fan which is good enough to beat the heat. Continental breakfast choices are toast and fruit salad (although not sure if they have anything else). It's nice for a hostel.

The best hostel in all Montreal I could even say probably in all Canada. Great enviroment, the staff is the best, clean and well located. They even have free walking tours and different activities everyday. I just suggest to at least tip the staff as nobody does and its sad as this ppl are doing a great job!

Perfect place. They greeted Me for 2 months and it was amazing. KADER is one of the receptionist, a love as a person and Eder one of the Brazilians that AI works. We became so friends that we have already traveled together.

Nice place with good vibes and a very original / hippie decoration. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, right in the centre and close to good nightlife areas. The shower are a bit weird, with shower curtains separating them, but men and women shower are in different rooms, so no problem with that.

Location is great, easy walking distance to the metro (which is easy to use, fast, efficient) clean rooms and really friendly staff. There is a good vibe here with young staff and customers. Breakfast is OK, but run out of fruits so get down early.

Service is great. Location is amazing (5 minute walk to St Catherine) and building feels secure at night. Beds are comfortable. Only one bathroom in the room for 8 beds. Common bathrooms are 4 stories below if you're on the top floor (unless I missed some). Difficult to find street parking on a busy weekend.

Absolutely divine! I came here after visiting another hostel and this one if better by far. The staff is wonderful, especially Kader, who went above and beyond for me during my stay. The place is super cool and lofty, huge Windows, hardwood floors, soft towels, and comfy bedding. There is free breakfast and Wi-Fi available, and it's also located right in the heart of Gay Village and is next to Le Quartier Latin. Will definitely book again!

I was welcomed with a smile and hospitality by kader, a young man at the front desk, courteous, polite, professional, and friendly. At ' my arrival (evening and after 6 hour drive from Matane) and lots of snow, there was in this Inn a family atmosphere and friendly, I keep an excellent memory, he is also Mr. H (ermine) who knows 8 languages (polyglot), the room was clean, quiet, sanitary, and the breakfast very good, thank you very much… The hostel is located in a place close to everything, metros, cheap and good restaurants… and of course starbucks near my essential coffee cappuccino and station Wi — Fi in my travels.

Friendly staff（best i've ever encountered, introduce a lot of attractions）, good location（bus at the gate of the hostel, metro station 8 mins walk）, free laundry （can't believe it）and breakfast（toast & orange juice）, great atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay in Montreal! only one con: remember to bring ur own towel or u need to pay $2.

This hostel is perfect for people who needs to stay for a few nights or the time to find an appartment in the city. I stayed 10 days, met a tremendous amount of great people. The staff is always nice and available and the general structure helps to meet other persons. Great general atmosphere also: people cooking and sharing, sharing their playlist or playing videogames — all in a respectful way. There are power outlets everywhere and activities are organized if you trouble meeting people on your own. There is also a nice terrasse for the summer. The building still needs some improvements but the staff is attentive to details: even the most remote bathroom always have TP, soap and a nice clean towel. Plus you can do your laundry for free! It is also well located and one can just walk to most of the interesting buildings, museums, squares of the city.
