This is a beautifully restored hotel with little surprise "gems" decorating it. Rooms are spacious & very well appointed. Staff are very welcoming & efficient. This is a definite stay!

Booked 5 rooms for 5 couples for a joint bday celebration. The hotel was fabulous…coolest decor. The bar/restaurant off the lobby had the best food. It was a great overnight getaway! Will definitely go back again.

I absolutely loved staying here. It was such a fun and different place to stay. The room we stayed in was a called 'Library' and was super fun. We were told the shower got rave reviews and we totally agree with that! With the current restrictions, we could only get room service which actually turned out to be fun as we never do that. The food was absolutely incredible. The only two not totally positive things I will say was I found our room very loud. I heard everything in the hallway (I'm talking well after midnight) so I didn't have a great sleep. Also, when they brought the food we did not have a table to eat on. We just took the table with the lamp and phone on it and dragged it over, so not a huge deal. But I just thought maybe they would bring that in already, knowing we didn't have one. I truly loved the hotel though and would highly recommend it! I cannot wait to go back.

The absolute best staff that go ABOVE AND BEYOND. Our first time visiting and we were BLOWN AWAY! What an amazing destination with great food at the chilled cork … and the beds…. Wow! Can’t wait to come back!

So many cool things around every corner. Every room is a different theme and they are spacious with high ceilings. Especially the showers in the rooms we had. You really can stay completing inside your eat drink and sleep if you want! Doesn’t matter what the weather is then.

We were at the Retro Suites for a wedding. The staff were great as was the food. But the decor of the hotel was wonderful. There were different themed rooms which was pretty cool. We will be back.

I was amazed walking through every parts of this hotel, I couldn’t keep my eyes off the art on the walls and the antique statues. The hotel service was amazing and very welcoming, while checking out I had left my phone charger and room service had found it in less than a minute! The atmosphere around the hotel is very nice to walk around if you do need to get out for some air! I just want to keep coming back to see every different gorgeous and unique rooms. Highly recommend.

2 story suite very cool! 2 bathrooms, large shower! Clean and beautiful unique decor room. We stayed in the Cottage suite. Beds where very comfortable! one of the best sleep we had at a hotel. Very quite and relaxing. Enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel if your looming for a unique experience, over the normal hotel stay. Abit on the pricy side for one night, this would be the only reason we wouldn't stay here more then one night.

A wonderfully refreshing experience! The boutique-hotel, tailored themed rooms, it’s dazzling art, the quality service and the delish fare at Chilled Cork were fabulous!

Our sky room was very spacious, beautiful decor, had everything we needed. We did not feel like we were at a hotel but rather a small home away from home. Even the hallways are fabulously decorated. We were able to check in earlier than anticipated. It was very clean and bed was comfy. I’d highly recommend the experience.

We had our wedding at the Retro Suites and it was fabulous! The Derby Banquet Hall was the perfect space for our ceremony and reception! Our guests loved staying at the hotel and thought it was so cool. The food was delicious. The banquet managers were so on the ball with everything and helped our day run smoothly, and we cannot say enough good things about the servers/bartenders, who were so professional and went above and beyond!

What a great old building! I stayed overnight with my grown daughters in the Nantucket room which had an upstairs loft. We absolutely loved it! We appreciated all the retro details at every turn and we truly enjoyed the complimentary breakfast at the Chilled Cork downstairs. I will be back with my hubby so he can experience this beautiful hotel too!

Very interesting hotel. And Krystal at the front desk was VERY helpful. The rooms we were given were very private. We weren’t woken up by other doors or vacuums. Just the getaway we needed. We plan to return when the weather is warmer. However, we weren’t impressed with the connected restaurant, the Chilled Cork.

Very cool place with lots of interesting art and antiques to look at. Every room is unique/themed and both times I've stayed, the rooms were spacious.
Kudos to them for choosing toiletrlies (Truly Earth Friendly) made of biogradable plastic. Why doesn't every hotel do this?

Hotel is fantastic! Very quirky decorations in the halls and each room has a distinct feel to them. I stayed in the "cottage" room which had a great feel (and two floors! ) and I also stayed in the library room which was fantastically decorated! I appreciated the book selection. The one issue I had was the restaurant/bar closes very early, but this is a minor complaint.

We stayed in the King William suit for two nights after our wedding. The room as quite spectacular. Very beautiful decor and furniture and the king bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was quite luxurious with a large pedestal tub, heated floors, and a large double head shower. That is were they lost the fifth star though. The shower pressure was ok to begin with, but it dropped to near nothing several times which was quite annoying. We were also not provided any robes which is something I would have expected. Overall, it was still a wonderful stay.

Having just had our wedding here, the experience was nothing short of amazing and couldn’t be happier with having my wedding here! The hotel room we got ready in was stunning and you cannot go wrong with any single room here! The Venue was so unique with having something new around every corner you can’t go wrong when taking photos here either! The servers/staff at the retro Suites are so friendly and extremely accommodating, and the chilled cork provided such mouth watering food! Everyone was so helpful with working with other vendors and Gena went above and beyond to make the day run so perfect, she made the day so stress free that I could actually enjoy it l! Words can’t express how happy I am with how everything turned out we would absolutely recommend coming here for all your wedding needs! It was nothing short of perfection!

Had the pleasure of hosting our wedding here. The staff handled every little detail. Dinner was delicious! The rooms were amazing and it allowed us to have such a unique wedding. Couldn't recommend retro suites enough for a night's stay, dinner, or hosting an event. 10/10 will book retro suites for my second wedding.

Came here for a wedding, and this hotel is amazing! The room was really cool, we stayed in the brook stone themed room and we loved it. Room was super clean and the beds were so comfortable. The derby venue room was absolutely beautiful, and the staff was so sweet. 5 stars! ❤️

Yet, another FANTASTIC stay at the Retro Suites. This is my favorite boutique hotel. So much is spent on the details. The bed… Omg… didn't want to get out of it. If you like something a little different… you'll lovvvve Retro Suites… this time we stayed in the Wild West room… the shower could fit 6 people! Nathan at the reception desk must have a PHD in customer service! Thank you for making us feel like your only customers.

Stayed at your lovely hotel July long weekend. We had two rooms booked (the loft and the 2 queens room). Clean & comfortable. Restaurant under renovations so we were disappointed about that, but understand these things have to happen. The continental breakfast was not the greatest… pastries were stale and nothing to drink except coffee & water. The kids would have enjoyed juice. I would have thought since the restaurant wasn't open, there would be more to choose from. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay and will be back. The rooms are awesome!

Retro Suites is a unique hotel located in downtown Chatham right next to the mall. Each room is set up with a different theme. We stayed in the Sail Inn with a nautical theme. The attention to detail is amazing right down to a bedside lamp made out of an outboard motor! The Chilled Cork restaurant inside the hotel is under construction right now but that didn't matter. They have the tables nicely arranged in the lobby and the food and service were both spectacular.

Stayed here for a wedding and was blown away by the beautifully decorated space, the cleanliness and the service. There is so much to see even in just the lobby — the hotel must have been fun to decorate. Fantastic space and very highly recommended!

My husband and I have stayed many times at the Retro Suites because we love the unique rooms, enjoy dinner at the chilled cork, and it's just a nice, relaxing getaway close by. We love it so much that we got married there last year. Cannot rave about the place enough.

Excellent place to stay, or have a wedding, or a family reunion. We just came down from Windsor for a quick one night get away. Stayed in the study to which my wife walked in and stated that if she ever gets to overwhelmed, this is where she will be staying. I think she liked the pick.

We stay here often, and it's always great. Still one of the most unique hotels we've ever stayed at, and every room has its own distinct personality. This time our room has stairs leading up to a loft that overlooks the main floor, with a bed and bathroom just for our daughter (she is thrilled). We will be back soon!

Nice Hotel and good service. Rooms are very clean and quite unique. Areas for improvement. Larger TV would be nice as it is difficult to see sitting in bed. Bed is not comfortable and pillows are pretty lumpy and not comfortable.

This is a hard hotel to review. Every room is different! That being said the few times I have stayed the rooms are immaculate, service is spot on and the overall look and feel is completely eclectic. Artworks and memorabilia everywhere. The in-house restaurant is fairly pricy but the food is very good too. There is a rail line close by but it is not very noticeable due to the quality of the materials used in the recent renovations. Overall a great stay.

I took my mother for lunch at the restaurant The Chilled Cork which is in the hotel in Chatham. We had great service, lovely surroundings and great food. Would definitely go back there again.

One of a kind hotel. Top notch experience! Great location downtown and very friendly and helpful staff. I've only had the pleasure of experiencing the "Urban Studio" but I was impressed. Great decor and cozy "right at home" feeling. Comfortable bed/pillows and nice quality linens. Just watch put for the corner of the bed frame protruding a bit past the mattress… Ouch! I'm definitely looking forward to my next stay!

The art, the nostalgic memorabilia, the uniqueness, the individually themed rooms — and not that pricey either. Not to mention I love the breakfast This is a serious place to stay, I love it here, will always come back when in the Chatham area.

I grew up in Chatham and it's sad to see this town with so many closed and dilapidated buildings. BUT the Retro Suites complex revitalizes the downtown area. Beautiful building, surprisingly great collection of art and memorabilia. Rooms are great as well.

Fantastic all around! The hotel staff are amazing and the Chilled Cork staff and food is superb! Love coming to Chatham just to be able to stay at the Retro.

The room was beautiful and very clean. It looked better in person than in the photos. The room had all the ammenities one would expect and we were not let down in any way. The concierge was perfectly friendly and efficient. The hotel's location was great and the parking was easily accessible and well located. It was also a very quiet stay. Walking the halls of this hotel is an experience in itself. Truly a great great hotel.

As a regular guest 2-3 times a year, this visit was disappointing. Upon arriving the room I had booked (in August) was not available for both nights. The theme rooms are one of the main reasons I book here. The upgraded room we were given was nice but the top floor of the bi level suite was very cold. The gas fireplace must stay on in order to stay comfortable. Unfortunately our room was only partially cleaned by the maids, fully upstairs and towels added on the main. Even our trays from room service and garbage was not removed. Since we have stayed so many times in the past, we were found the level of service for this visit had really dropped.

Love this place. Not only is it beautiful, the staff are amazing. It's such a treat to stay here and find out which of the beautiful rooms you'll get. We've stayed 4 separate times, each in a different room. Shopping and restaurants are walking distance.

The bed was so comfortable. High ceilings nice rooms. Low water pressure shower and thin walls. Overall not bad though!

Such an interesting hotel, there are many different themed rooms. I stayed in 2 different rooms and they were both awesome!

Very unique experience however, l found the beds too low but the heated floors were amazing for this time of year!

I recently celebrated my 60th birthday in the Presidential Suite which is an absolutely stunning venue for an intimate party of 30 people. It is a gorgeous classy room and the staff was extremely accommodating in making sure it was everything I hoped it would be!

Overall a nice hotel, however when it came to the accommodations my experience was not fantastic. Given that I had travelled quite the distance from out of town for a wedding, I was relying heavily on the hotel to relax and get ready for the festivities. Upon arrival my original room that was booked was not the room I received, however I didn’t bother to complain as I was already tired from the drive and arrived late to the hotel. The following day the electricity in the hotel wasn’t working properly due to their transformer blowing, taking about 3-4 hours before the electricity was up and running. Unfortunately this timing was directly before getting ready for the wedding not having any other options of where to get ready, no a/c, no lights, no tv, no use of coffee machines, showering in the dark, no phone etc. When I asked the desk how they were dealing with the issue they offered me a cold bottle of water and told me that there was not a lot they could do and they weren’t offering any refunds of any type for accommodations. I left the issue to attend the wedding, returning from the wedding to a very hot room since the power had turned off the a/c. When checking out I explained the issue I had with the service, I was offered a small discount of only 25$ off of my bill after staying for two nights.

This is the most unique hotle I have ever stayed in. We were in "The Study". It was a very nice room with quite the eclectic variety of books on the shelves. The room came fully equipped with Cutlery, glasses and plates for 2. What was really nice was there were real glass wine glasses. (No drinking out of plastic cups when on a romantic get away). Huge bonus was the bottle open / cork screw! I would definitely recommend this place!

Quick service, plenty of seating, quiet atmosphere, retro like looks, and quality of food high. Worth every penny. Menu selection high, and prices very reasonable.

Absolutely loved this hotel. Every room is themed differently we went to see the place and asked for a tour and one of the ladies there Jenna I believe gave us a tour it was so great I booked a room to stay later that week. If you haven't seen the place I highly recommend it. Our room was fully stocked with a mini kitchenette a glorious bathroom and fire place.
