Where to start! No elevator working during our stay and no one cared! No Wi-Fi, but still paid fee! My mother had a bug on her when she woke and just reading other reviews it was probably a bedbug! Told they dont clean if you are there 2 nights. When asked if we could get a discount, I was told manager wont be in,, so tough luck! DO NOT STAY HERE! And breakfast was in a brown paper bag!

Great front of house staff and clean rooms.

Won’t refund without a manager present and won’t let our family of 6 (4 children) stay in the room that’s been paid for after driving 12 hours +. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone be careful booking a room here. They may take your money and not give it back. I am not impressed!

Made a reservation during Covid for one of my staff members to stay. Due to an expired license (expired because during Covid it is impossible to renew) hotel turn away the staff member at midnight refusing his stay and refusing to give back the money for the cancellation. While I understood the policy, Tony's refusal to find a solution at midnight and his comfort at turning away a guest would would have a three hour drive ahead will make me give my business (of 30 nights a year) to another hotel whose staff are more willing to use common sense than hide behind policy.

Had a change in policy before we arrived but never notified any of the guests. Despite confirming our arrival time beforehand, we were turned away upon arrival. Staff was extremely rude and offered no support in finding alternative accommodations in town. Guest relations for the franchise did absolutely nothing about it citing the hotels rights to turn people away… which misses the point completely that we didnt care about being turned away… we cared about not being notified that the policies had changed and having to waste gas finding a new place to stay… oh and this was a birthday weekend on top of it… awesome.

Horrible place to stay wouldn't stay there If somebody paid me. Staff are beyond rude the manager is never there and failed to return my call. Plus the elevators looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. Repulsive.

We waited over 4 hours for our room to be ready, check in was 3pm and check out is 11AM.
we arrived at the hotel at 3pm to check into our rooms, 6 rooms…
all over the rooms where ready except for one. Not too big of a deal, so we waited. After 2 hours we checked in with front desk, where we met the "Lovely SAM" who Had told us I don't know what to tell you its not ready"
so we waited… 630PM come around so we addressed the front desk again and once again we addressed sam again and told "listen we will tell you when its done ita still not done" after asking for a manager we where told "she gone home we have no way to reach her" now this was just one room:
another room; smelt like vomit
3rd room the roof was leaking.
we where told we had to "goto bed" at 2am while watching a movie.
this place was a ioke. would never reccomend to anyone.

This was the best! We had a long day! Our room wasn’t ready when we got there, that’s because the staff was busy the night before. As bummed out as I was … they accommodated me immediately as I was traveling w small child… They actually clean the rooms! This was amazing! They made sure to get me a different room, right away! But I’m serious! The bed was so comfortable. I’ve never stayed in a hotel with such an amazing comfy bed and the linens and pillows all smelled fresh! I’ve stayed in some fancier looking hotels in Toronto and no comparison for cleanliness and comfort! The bed was amazing, staff was amazing. You can tell some hard working people work here! I can’t wait to try the food, like everyone suggested! Best sleep in a hotel bed everrrr! The best! I highly recommend!

I had to go up to Barrie for a week long hearing for work. I thought I was booking directly from the hotel's site, but it appears I was booking through reservations. Com. I admit I missed that when I was booking, but I was likely more focused on the stress from working. However, thanks to this experience, I now know that I will NEVER use reservations. Com, and I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. I went up for what was supposed to be 5 nights for work. However, my plans changed, and I was able to check out after 2 nights. I thought this would be easy, but it was not. It was a terrible experience. 1. The first problem at the hotel is that they do not have secure Wifi (which the woman at the front desk confirmed for me), so if you are going here for anything work-related, you will have difficulties with secure servers. I could not log in to my work at all, if you are in Barrie for work-related reasons, DO NOT STAY HERE! 2. My room card was deactivated EVERY DAY. So come home from working, lugging bags up to room, and then had to go back to front desk to get cards activated. Ridiculous. 3. Went to check out after 2 nights, but was told that I booked through the website, and would have go to to them for a refund (this is a LIE). They refunded the deposit they initially took from the credit card, so I gave them the card keys and left. Called Reservations.

So far so good. Easy check in, nice room, deep tub. Everything I needed.

Will not recommend. Front desk service was very helpful, the deluxe Jacuzzi room was beautiful but — We ordered the romance package and when we showed up from our wedding reception there was no sparkling wine awaiting. The bed was not very comfortable either. Was unable to sleep in because the curtains allow too much light in. Also, no water other than taps (and that wasnt cold either). You need to walk down to the 1st floor for ice and water, it's not on the same floor. Had a breakfast package upgrade and all we got was 2 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, and 12 home fries. When we spend $600 for 2 nights, we really expected more and were not impressed. Will not be back.

Great customer service. Very nice and clean. With good food. The pool is small but great. Wish they had a spa.

The staff was so friendly! Walking to our room, the cleaning lady said hello to us from a room, something that has Never happened at any hotel ever! The front desk staff was very prompt and informative when checking in! The rooms were clean, and we even had an electric fire place in our room, which was a big surprise! Would definitely recommend this hotel, and will stay here next time we're in town! Oh, and the price was unbeatable! 5 stars!

Higher end romantic suites are wonderful. Spacious, great variety. The brekfeast has been fantastic. Friendly staff. The pool is on the small side. The jets on the whirlpool tub were a little on the weak side. Overall a pleasant experience.

Stayed here after my wedding reception. When we walked in we were gifted wine and a couple glasses. The room was great. The food for breakfast was amazing. Can't say anything bad about this hotel.

We had a great room with full air conditioning. Two large beds, a great view and very helpful staff. Also a nice breakfast in the morning. Very clean sanitary rooms. I have no complaints.

I attended for an event for the day and when we asked the front desk staff where to go she was not very kind. Then we entered the stairwell to head to our event and it was do dirty. It looked as though they used the stairwell as a dust pan. The food was not great at all, however the staff working down there were far more friendly. They would be the only reason I would be will to try this hotel again. Not very impressive at all.

Not impressed and won't ever go back. Checked in and immediately got a large transaction warning from my credit card company. Went back to the desk and the girl who you could barely hear said it was a security deposit of an extra $100 that would be returned after a few day and was only a hold. Glad I was informed at booking and then again at check in! Went to dinner and there was only one waitress who snapped at us when we sat down, 20 minutes later took our orders, never a…sked if we wanted coffee or desert, dropped the bill on the table and then proceeded to ignore us for the next 20 minutes while taking orders at other tables. As I was there for a conference we had a meeting room in the basement — very hot and humid (been home for 3 hours and still have a huge sinus headache) room was set up lecture style with very little room between tables. Lunch was a buffet set in the hallway and then shuffled back into the room — what hotel serves lunch in a lecture style set up for attendees? The wraps were smothered (and dripping) with mayo and the small sandwiches were smothered in margarine it was like taking a spoonful of margarine and eating it. The hotel room itself was noisy and there were kids running around above us until after midnight — not a huge deal but more control after 11pm would have been nice. Needless to say after that I'm glad to be home! Not recommending or staying there again.

Well first of all I wish they had a rating of zero it was hard for me to even push one as this place doesn't even deserve one. If you stay at this place you better hope you don't have any issues because management will not help straighten out the fact nor will their head office. If I was there head office I'd be ashamed of the staff they have running their front desk but then you come to realize that office is no better. To the manager at their front desk you need some serious training in customer service, and to Laura at their head office you just need to find another job maybe you can be a garbage collector or something like that, oh wait garbage collectors make pretty good money maybe you could be an out house inspector.

Worst place in barrie. The desk staff are intelligent kids. The " head chef" could not even cook a medium steak. I would recommend pizza over this shit hole.

Went for a work conference. Conference rooms were big enough in space and lunch provided was decent.

Room was clean, King size bed was comfortable. Location of hotel was good. Staff were pleasant. Downside: room itself was on the small side, and when I turned on the AC unit there was an unpleasant odour.

Room was nice. Some noise from room above late at night woke us up. We were in the jacuzzi room and could hear the people upstairs filling their tub at like 4am. Continental breakfast was acceptable, we had the extra $5 egg upgrade. Prices in the restaurant are pretty steep so be careful ordering extras. Lights from the businesses nearby are very bright and shone all night, so I had to fiddle with the curtains to block it out completely. No serious issues, 4/5 overall.

The conference room is always nice. We were in the basement. Someone a little cold. It is always nice that they bring coffee for the day, although this particular day the coffee had coffee grinds in it.

While we were having a breakfast (what we still have to pay) the cleaning ladies made a mistake and mixed the rooms, so they grabbed all our staff and leave downstairs. After they realized we have not checked out yet, they put everything back. All out private belongs were touched and mixed. Terrible.

Small clean rooms. Outside parking with a few covered spots. Tiny gym with very little there, no free weights. Friendly service.

Stayed in hotels all across Canada this is by far the worst, free breakfast is a rip off and not appropriate for children. rooms are too small to accommodate extra cot in. the pool is not heated as they say and staff is rude and useless. WOULD NOT recommend this hotel for anyone.

Recently attended a friends wedding at the Monte Carlo Inns and the place was horrible to her! Would never ever recommended this place to anyone wanting to get married there… please save your time and money and find a better place! While she was planing her wedding here the hotel went through 4 wedding planners, none of them kept notes or communicated anything to each other, she constantly had to fix everything as well as the night before we met yet another new wedding planner. The head guy of catering was even worse he had absolutely no customer service experience what so ever! He yelled at a few guest of the hotel and when we talked to management about his attitude we were told that he just has a bad temper problem. Pfftt who says that as a manager dealing in the customer service industry! I will be letting everyone I know about the experience had at the Monte Carlo and telling them to stay far far away from this horrible place!

WARNING! My mother and I stayed at the Monte Carlo Inns in Barrie for four nights. On the second day we were there, we got stuck in the elevator for almost an hour. Afterwards, my mom was dizzy and had a headache and we had to cancel our plans for the rest of the day. Not to mention we had to use the stairs to get to and from our room which was on the top floor. The next morning I asked about a discount due to our being stuck in the elevator and the inconvenience. The front desk confirmed a discount of 50% off our stay. When we checked out, it was the same front desk agent and she seemed confused as to why the discount was not applied properly. She went to get the manager and he told us that we were only getting 25% off our stay but he rationalized it in a different way. He never apologized to us for being stuck in the elevator and didn't ask us if we were OK, etc. When I got home I called the customer service line and they did not apologize for the inconvenience either and told us that they thought the discount applied was sufficient, that they had done what they could and when I told them we were stuck in the elevator for almost an hour, she corrected me and said it was 'only' 45 minutes. It was in fact 50 minutes but semantics. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been "only" 45 minutes if she was in the elevator. The only good part about this hotel is how nice and sweet the sales lady Kim is.
