The hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Parking was expensive. Only bad thing I have to say. Super friendly staff, very accommodating, huge rooms, super cheap, they lock the main doors at night so you don't have to be scared of sketchy people coming in and out.

Nice accommodations low price friendly staff close to downtown.

I booked 2 nights at the Hotel Royal Plaza in Winnipeg this past weekend for myself and my boyfriend. First night, I found out that no guests are allowed after 9pm after seeing a small sign by the stairs. I had a friend who had to leave because they were not permitted inside. The next morning, my boyfriend was coming from his family's house, after spending time with them because his dad had passed away recently, and they would not allow him up to our room. It was daytime so there is no reason why anyone should not be permitted inside the hotel, especially my boyfriend who paid for the room. I was sound asleep so they could not get a hold of me to confirm that we were together so he was forced to wait around until I saw my 8 missed calls. I was really dissapointed in the treatment he was given. It lead me to think that because he is black and I am white, that they thought we were not together. That's the only conclusion I can make. A word of advice to the hotel, if you have strict visiting rules, please know who are the guests and who are your paying customers. I have no other complaints, as everything else about the room and ammentities were good.

Good price, clean rooms, and quiet. The paid parking lot was a bit sketchy looking but we had no problems. Breakfast was cereal, hard boiled eggs and toast.

Clean, quiet, comfortable place to stay, spacious room with large mini fridge and microwave. Seems to be a hostel transitioning to a hotel so many of the hostel qualities remain.

Nice staff, clean rooms. Very affordable rooms, has an atmosphere of a nicer college dorm basically, there is a nightclub downstairs however on the weekend and some rooms you can hear the bass until they shut down. Overall good if you need an inexpensive room in the area.

The management here cannot be trusted. They tried to change the cancellation policy on me so they an UNLAWFULLY hold on to my money. I attempted to cancel the reservation well within the time in my agreement but the message came back saying it is past time when I could cancel. That was a lie! When I read the policy to the manager she demanded that I provide her with medical evidence. I did not tell this woman I was sick and even so she has no authority to demand medical evidence from me for I was cancelling well before the 24 hour before check-in time line. She was extremely rude and such a liar! So I told my bank about the situation and they promise to act on the situation if she ever tries to take my money. Today is May 24 and check in is May 26 — 2 days away from today and she is telling me that is less than 24 hours before check-in. She is RUDE and DISHONEST and must not be trusted.

Pretty decent for the price. Courtesy of the staff much better than what I already experienced in chain hotels. Close to downtown Winnipeg, easy access to major interest points like Parliament of Manitoba, Canadian Museum of Human Rights, etc. Would stay there again. Have been there couple of times already.

We arrived — way — past check in, and the Front Desk was AWESOME! There was a complementary plate on the desk of a small bundle of sweets… very nice, at another time the offer was fruit. Very nice simple touch. Check in was smooth, and efficient. Our room was WONDERFUL. We had a King on the third (3rd) floor, very large yet cozy, business like yet personal. Bedding very comfortable. We were in need of a quick simple bite to eat and a cocktail, and of course did not want to drive, the front desk called to see if WAVES was still open which was within the premices. We walked down and had an amazing East Indian food and had a great time. Thank you again to the staff for going just that little step extra for their guests! The hotel was clean, and all staff was over welmingly friendly. Continental breakfast in the morning was pleatiful and tasty. I would return again without a doubt, and would highly recommend this hotel!

Noticed my bed was full of bed bugs when I woke up, about a day later my chest and face are covered in bites.

Great location for downtown Winnipeg, only a 5 minute walk to the MTS centre. Clean and spacious room for the price. Breakfast of OJ, toast and cereal offered.

A friend and I stayed here on a weekend trip to Winnipeg for Festival du Voyageurs. It probably wasn't the best weekend to visit, because it was so cold our car broke down and could not be jumped. The staff here went above-and-beyond to help us get our car repaired and get home safely. They made it a top priority, and I cannot thank them enough for their great kindness! They were also in the process of renovations while we were there, and it is looking lovely (so please take very old reviews with a grain of salt). It is centrally located so we were within walking distance of almost everywhere we needed to go. Our room was very clean and comfortable. I would stay there again. :D.

Hi I stayed there yesterday for One Night. After reading the previous reviews once I make mind to cancel my bookings but on assurance of my one friend I went there. The property is now with new management and totally renovated. The buffet dinner was really delicious and food served was all with homely atmosphere. I really enjoyed my stay. Definitely recommend this place to stay once.

It just sucks shit, smells bad, poor Wi-Fi. btw their fridge and microwave are not working.

$10 to park overnight, shit service, continental breakfast was cereal and hard boiled eggs. Elevator closed on me while trying to leave. Horrible overall.

Stayed here for a night back in April, not too many bookings, so ended up getting a 6-bed dorm all to myself. Rooms was pretty average, could use some TLC though. If you just need a no frills place to spend the night in The Peg, this place should do it for you.

This hostel is the really worst that I stayed ever. Should not go.

Best Value for money, A very nice downtown location. Pleasant Staff and wide furnished rooms. I cant expect more in the money I paid that too in the heart of downtown. Will definitely be back again.
