Beautiful facility. Spa is still closed from Covid. They seem to be dealing with staff shortages like everyone is.

Nice marina. Pools are nice. Spa was closed.

The meal I had a couple of weeks ago was an awful clam chowder. I no longer see my review. Today I had fish and chips. What can go wrong? They are obviously cooked from a package of premade battered cod. One piece was ok, average, but flaky cod, the second piece was tough, stringy, grey, watery…something. Certainly not edible. It was taken away. Of course by the time it came the rest of the meal cold. I took it away in a “doggy bag” and gave it to my dog who gave it two paws up. This is not what I go to eat out for. Two strikes Poets Cove. Ive not had an enjoyable experience yet in the Syrens bar. I live locally, not on holiday. You have my review now what are you going to do with it?

Stayed in the marina. Otter poop on the dock was not cleaned off the entire time. Docks themselves in poor repair. Pool is not clean. Pool is completely unsupervised so there were lots of guests drinking. Washrooms for pool locked even though the pool was open. People washing their boats. Seems like no one cares there. Too bad because it is a beautiful spot otherwise.

We loved our stay here! We lucked out and received an invite to the Valentines Dinner and it was outstanding! The food, service, ambiance and kindness was truly appreciated. A great 2 night getaway.

The property is beautiful but the rooms need upgrading. No towels in the room.

When we went to pick up food it was always incorrect and we had to trek back downstairs to rectify. The power was out… and I know this is no fault of the hotel however. The fire alarm or some other alarm kept going off all night once the power came back on. This was very disturbing to our sleep. Concierge made no attempt to fix this when we went out at 2:30 to ask about it. In the morning when I mentioned it … I was hoping to have a partial refund or credit. This was not offered and concierge just blamed Telus. The price of the room doesn’t reflect what the experience or quality.

We are here on our boat. Staff is friendly and helpful, the pool and hot tub amazing. We ate at the pub and the food is very good with lots of options for all diets. Service was great at the pub. Located close to a couple of nice hikes for some good walking exercise.

Great staff, pools, hot tubs, cafe and pub. Marina washrooms could use a bit more regular cleaning and 7$ for one load of laundry was on the pricy end of things.

Awesome staff on the restaurant and on the dock. Saved our boat yesterday. 👍🏼

Quite disappointing. My friends and I booked a cottage, but it was not thoroughly cleaned. Laundry in dryer, clothings left by last guests, dishwasher full of dishes. Path to cottage not ideal, inclined slope with no steps. Since majority of the restaurants were closed, you would think they would step up with the only restaurant left on the premises. Food was just as disappointing, and seafood wasn’t fresh. And most disappointing of all, they gave us a cottage with no view. Having advertised that the place has a beautiful view, we ended up with absolutely no view because we didn’t ask for me. I would definitely not be back.

Great patio, great service, great marina, but most importantly Great Food!

Amazing food, view, sunsets! Loved the pool and hot tub. Grounds were lovely. Can’t wait to go back after Covid to try the spa and fireplace!

My wife and I spent 3 nights here and we absolutely loved our stay. Smoke from all the BC wildfires took away the views however it didn't ruin it for us either. The only downsides I can offer up is that there was no air conditioning in the room and the mattress was not that great. The room was nice and the view from the patio was amazing. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the resort and both were decent. I would also highly recommend the spa as it was an excellent experience for both of us. We will definitely be coming back in the future.

Had a wonderful family reunion of 28 people. The staff at Poets Cove accommodated and took care of us. We did have a big dinner in their "upscale" restaraunt and could have used more assistance in serving such a large party as we only had 1 server. But regardless it's a beautiful property.

Grossly understaffed in both the marina and restaurant. Food mediocre. New management seems in order.

Beautiful setting, great spa experience (services are excellent but only has a steam room, cold shower and hot tub for amenities) but the highlight of the stay this time was the staff and chefs at the Aurora Restaurant. The highlight of the stay at Poets Cove this time were the staff and chefs at the Aurora Restaurant. Even while waiting at the front for our table, we peered into the kitchen, and the 2 chefs were busy working away, but what stood out was their passion, and care and attention to detail. Josh (our server) was phenomenal the first night, with the 2nd evening unforgettable and filled with laughter, as the chefs battled for our taste buds. The pork belly was beyond words, so good we went back twice, and adding the salmon to the dish (because I really wanted to taste the salmon, but can't pass on the pork). After passing on a compliment ("Like angles pissing on my taste buds") about the pork belly to Josh who in turn let the chef know, this then prompted the dessert chef (sorry didn't catch your names! ) to up his game. We got some extra touches with our dishes! These 3 gentlemen made our trip so much more memorable. Great work gentlemen!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Poets Cove. Incredibly beautiful and peaceful, this is a wonderful spot for a relaxing getaway. We enjoyed our massages at the spa, a great way to start off our weekend! The restaurants had delicious food, including the breakfast buffet with made to order omelets. All the resort staff went the extra mile (with a smile! ) to help make our stay fabulous. If you’re able to, go for a kayak ride; it’s a great way to enjoy the beauty of the area from a different viewpoint. AIso, give the wedge salad with calamari a try… the Riesling vinaigrette is outstanding!

Was here for three nights as part of a large group for a wedding. Everyone had a great time. Great setting, extremely well manicured grounds, multiple pools, hot tubs, a small spa, gym, restaurants and store all in a secluded area. All the cottages or villas recently received new outdoor hot tubs replacing old ones. Full kitchen met all our needs. Yes, the interiors of the rooms are looking a bit tatty and the linens are not Westin but you'll probably still have a great time as did we. Recommended.

Our most favorite stop when crusing the island. Great services, perfect views, truly feels like you are on vacation. Very relaxing.

Beautiful spot on South Pender Island. Very good marina. Popular spot for cruising bpaters. Reservations are advised on weekends. Dined at Syrens Pub. Good, food, utilizing locally sourced ingredients when possible. Reasonably priced. Deducting stars for filthy restrooms at the pool, othetwise a 5 out of 5.

A wonderful place to bring your boat. During the summer the docks can get a little boisterous but it's generally been pretty peaceful. Amenities are quite nice and varied. Of course you're limited to food that you bring, either of the two restaurants or the coffee shack above the pool.

Great food, great staff, and great pool. Unfortunately though $500ish/night (in March, not exactly high season) was WAY overpriced. 2br Cottage was quite dated with wallpaper, tiny (master barely fit the bed), relatively dirty, and the sheets although clean were stained. With other world class destinations nearby (Whistler/Tofino) you can find accommodations 10x nicer for the same money or slightly more.

Beautiful resort! The hot tub and pool overlook the ocean and marina, Very friendly and helpful staff. We can't wait to go back for a weekend.

Great get away! We boated here from WA with our parents on their Ranger Tug. We stayed in a room for a few nights for our “baby moon”. Nice rooms with great views! I felt very pampered here, which was they point. We loved our spa experience and all the rooms overlook the water. Restaurants at the hotel. Hot tub and heated pool. Very nice! They host weddings/parties… what a great idea!

Went for a business retreat/ operations practical. The staff were more than accomidating. Resort itself is beyond beautiful. I always speak very highly of this amazing place!

We have been going to Poet's Cove for years and always enjoyed our time here. However, our last visit was not at all a positive experience. From the beginning we had trouble docking our boat (they claimed they didn't have us booked into a slip even though I produced an email confirmation with a slip number). Once we had docked in a different slip upon the instruction of the dock manager, we were scolded (probably 25 min after docking) for being in the wrong slip number. We then patiently explained the situation and told the lady we would be happy to move where ever they would put us. We got that sorted out and proceeded to check in. We made it up to our little apartment and enjoyed the evening. Around 11pm we realized we had a very loud and very drunk group above us in the building, which we didn't really mind at 11pm. However, at 1am we began to get slightly annoyed as they were still blasting music and line dancing above our room. At 1:30 we called the front desk and they apologized but did nothing. At 3:30 we called again and they did send someone up to ask the group to quite down, which was ineffective. The party did not end until 5:15am. We had the exact same issue the following night with management doing nothing to intervene. I am not opposed to people having a good time and I don't want to seem like I am against have some people over to your hotel room. But I think blaring your music with every window and door open into the open air after 4am is slightly rude.

Poets Cove is a beautiful place for a quiet getaway. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The view is spectacular and the marina offers large slips for moorage.

I had looked at this place a few months ago and wanted to take my wife there for a few days to celebrate our 25 th wedding anniversary. The reviews seamed good so I booked three days. A couple of day before going my wife looked up the reviews and notice that the reviews had gone done very badly. I called the resort to ask about this and voiced my concern. I to person I spoke with explained that there was a large staff change throughout the summer and did admit there were some challenges with the housekeeping staff, I was however insured that this problem has been corrected. I decided to trust what I had heard and we went to the resort. We had a great time and didn't see any evidence of poor house keeping. The staff was fabulous, Friendly with a great fun like attitude. The staff at the spa was also very accommodating and friendly as well. Such a great view and setting for some time away. We will be back for sure.

Stayed here on a recent girls' getaway in a 2-bedroom villa. Excellent view and very nice unit. Kitchen was rather poorly equipped for proper cooking, and housekeeping didn't replace any tea towels. Other than that, it was a wonderful place and would be happy to stay there again.

We stayed at Poet's Cove for our first wedding anniversary because we had heard good reviews. We were quite disappointed with the overall experience. The hotel is in dire need of a deep clean — the carpets don't look like they have been steam cleaned in months, all of their artificial plants were dusty and tired looking, their pub was disgustingly dirty (food particles and garbage tucked in corners, hidden under furniture items, gathered under the dishwasher), their pool facility and gym were dusty and looked neglected and their furniture in the rooms looked tired. The pub was pretty chaotic and it didn't feel like it had the presence of a strong and competent manager. We overhead multiple people complaining of a lack of service. For the price you pay to stay here, it doesn't meet the expectations.

Resort and marina are beautiful and the staff are terrific HOWEVER I would not suggest staying in the marina during a weekend during the summer unless you want to listen to the music of whichever wedding reception festivities are taking place. I can't blame anyone for wanting to get married at such a beautiful resort but they should build a separate hall / building for the reception so as not to disturb all the other guests with the music. We were told the music would be turned down at 11… didn't happen on either the Friday or Saturday night. Music was played outside both nights at the resort. Guess I expected more from a resort such as this.

Virtually no privacy on the patio from the cottages and rooms not cleaned very well for the $720 per night. Biggest disappointment was the restaurant. Brunch was very little food and had to ask twice to get a few muffins, etc. With only two tables occupied, she had to be asked repeatedly to bring butter, coffee, etc. Super slow and attitude. Found better brunch food at bargain priced motels. Do not eat at the restaurant.

As I awaited nearly 1/2 hr for a mojjto and glass water, I turned to gaze out at the. Beautiful view… it was distrubed by the over abundance of old cob webs and deceased bugs. Unfortunately will not return.

Thanks for waiting does not cut it for a glass of water and beer, afer 26 mins, with only 3tables… service sucks as still waiting for food… stay away.

Empty In fall and winter In spring and summer note you will need a car to drive 25 minutes to mall with terrible cafe and grocery store: totally isolated.

Attended a wedding here and stayed in the resort. Beautiful venue, scenic, and relaxing — couldn't have picked a better place for a wedding. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the view of the cove was stunning. The gym was small, but good enough for a quick workout.

Great pool, great views … buy everything before you go! No supplies … And everything they do sell is very $$$$$$…

Great place to stay, just don't eat there We arrived by boat and stayed 2 nights in August 2015 This place has a pleasant dock, lovely setting and some nice resort amenities like a pool, tennis courts, etc etc. However, the pub is a disaster. Service was in the bottom 5% of all time… the pub was 80% empty on a Tuesday night, but despite that, it took over 30 minutes to get our orders taken, starters never came until the entrees did which was over 90 minutes after we sat down. We got told 45 minutes after we ordered that they were out of fish and when the food did come… it was circa a 1980's school cafeteria. Granted, we were starving at this point, but the food certainly did not go down easy. In the end we gave the waitress 0% tip, which prompted her to burst into tears… what a way to end the night. Great marina … just avoid the pub.

If this review regarding the resort as a building and structure, I would give it a five, but if it is regarding the restaurant unfortunately, would be — 5. The service is very slow, and it is not the waitres problem. It is a mangment issue as it was week end in the middle of the summer and had only three servers per entire restaurant. Also, I ordered the cheken sandwich and I it came with a moldy bread. I mean half of the bun was completely molded.

We really disappointed with the new management, we made a reservation in Nov 2014 for Aug 2015 with reservation confirmation, some how it was cancel due to a wedding reservation without any notice until I call in to confirm my room #, they said we call in to cancel which we never did. They just want the wedding party and neglect other customers. It is very disappointing with the new management. They never follow up or solve problem but ask us to wait for their reply until now.

The kids who are the Dock Attendants are not and prove useless. They hide in the hut and garble VHF traffic. No assistance with lines or guidance on docking. Lots of traffic due to Canada Customs dock. So much unrealized potential given the location. It has gone down hill since being purchased. The pool is good.

Beautiful views, but good luck finding food after 9pm. The island literally shuts down. Not even vending machines or a stocked mini fridge for two starving guests. What are your options you ask? Maybe you have a cliff bar left over in your luggage like we did.

A lovely, picturesque spot. The steam cave is one of our favourite getaways for some mid-week relaxation.

I had a great time at poets. My steak was delicious, and the band rocked the house.

We had our wedding at Poets Cove this past July. When we has originally chosen the place it was under different management and appeared to have much better service. Many things we were originally promised were no longer happening and we were not ever told of the changes. We were told we would have an onsite wedding coordinator to ensure things went smoothly on the big day and I couldn't even tell you what the guy looked like, thankfully our DJ (Bigtime Special Enterprises) had done weddings their before and was able to give us most of the direction we needed otherwise we would have been lost. We spoke over the phone a few times but when we arrived he was no where to be found. The venue is amazing, the rooms are great, the food was great and the property is beautiful. Our wedding ended up being perfect but I had to let a lot of the small things go. My main issues were that many of our guests complained about the terrible service at the pub and we had a huge amount of billing mix ups that took a couple weeks of us calling the front desk to get anything resolved. We also had some of the online reservations not come through so we had a guest with no room when she arrived, it was sorted out in the end but you just really need to stay on top of things if you are booking an event there, because no one else will do it for you. For the amount of money you spend on this venue they really need to work out their service issues.

Beautiful spot, but facilities and staff have gone down hill. We stayed there for over a week on our boat and the dock attendants never assisted any boats that came in. They stayed in their hut at the end of the dock. — Aug. 2014.

No one to help park the boat, horrible service at the restaurant, very small menu with little choices, expensive prices, bee's everywhere and the coffee shop was sparse. This place could be so much better, I'll never come back and not recommend it to any boaters I know. It used to be so much better a few years ago. It's gone down hill.

Beautiful view and setting, but the service or lack thereof leaves a lot to be desired. No help docking boat at marina, café out of food as soon as it opens, no one can take a message. Had to call five times to get a room booking which was then charged to two different credit cards and the manager is still not in to call us back 1 week later.
