Slow service, incorrect orders, no coffee refills just to start, but seriously having one TV in a nice looking restaurant for breakfast and we are forced to watch some teenager on TV playing basketball video games. I’d love to watch real basketball, or frig give us the news but kids playing video games is quite effing irritating! And the server refused to ask any of her co workers if they could even figure out how to change it bc she didn’t know and refused to try.

Great food & service! Highly recommend.

Gluten free option is what I enjoy, their caesar salad tasted fresh. My husband and I had steak sandwiches and they were excellent. Great service.

Great stay and really pretty town with lovely mountains. Price was fair and the restaurant was very nice and food was great!

I made reservations and wasn't told the pool wasn't open. When we arrived he said the smithers pool was open and they would reimburse the cost. That pool was closed as well. We went to the restuarant at 8:35pm and after the server seating me, I waited for 15 minutes and someone came at 8:50 with menus and said the restaurant had just closed. Why give us menus? I was checked out in the morning and the person didn't even look at me. She passed me my receipt and didn't say anything, I waited and said goodbye. I will never stay here again.

We are a family of four and we were moving from the Yukon down to BC. When we first checked in, the room seemed OK — clean, loads of mosquitoes but it's that time of year. Then we noticed an ant. Then two. Then a few more. We took care of them, thinking they got in during cleaning, then went across the street to the local pool since the hotel pool was closed and my 3 year old was looking forward to a pool. There were more ants when we got back. Took care of them. Went out to get food and mentioned the ants to the front desk clerk. She apologized and suggested we contact the manager of the hotel. Said they will do something about the room tomorrow. Got back, noticed ants on the wall. Emailed the manager and went back to the desk to ask to change rooms as this was just too much with a 3 and a 1 year old to sleep in an ant infested room. By this time it's 7 o'clock at night and the kids need to sleep. The desk clerk did finally change our room, but at this point changing rooms is more than inconvenient with two small children and no elevator. Then got an email from the manager saying you can change rooms. No apology, no recognition of the inconvenience of having to change rooms because of a growing ant infestation. Stay elsewhere in town — the lodge at the other side of town is much nicer and much more customer focused.

Excellent food. Salad are amazing and the menu is above par. Locals flock here.

The Inn had a rustic feeling with wooden accents. Amenities were a bit older than you would expect, but nonetheless enjoyable. The pool and sauna had privacy and the restaurant was great.

Great service, rooms need upgrade but very comfortable and clean.

I give it a 4 star because the food was ok. Could have been a bit better and also the presentation. Seating is poor as they have since takin tables out and had to sit at the island bar style area. Service was great.

Love this restaurant I’m always satisfied with my meals and if I’m not please they are the most accommodating servicing I’d give a 100 stars if I could.

Friendly helpful staff. Room clean, quilt lumpy, poor quality, only 2 pillows. Whirlpool didn't work. Overall good value for money.

Had a really good deal for snowboarding and a room. Bathtub was partially plugged though, making it so I had to stand in a bunch of dirty water while showering.

I stayed at Aspen while on a snowboarding trip. The room was clean, and beds reasonably comfortable. Beds were done up daily and all consumables replaced. The closest restaurant, Riverhouse, is quite good as well.

This experience was the worst one I've Ever had at the Aspen. Put it this way there was four of us and three of my party ate at all different times and one person was completely forgotten! No Stars!

Simple, Cozy, mountain lodge hotel with pet friendly rooms available, and national car rental place right next door! Staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a pet friendly room, with our dogs, and it was super clean compared to other pet friendly places we've stayed. Breakfast vouchers, and indoor pool and hot tub. Wifi worked fine for all our devices. There was a town-wide tap water advisory so they gave free bottles of water to accommodate. Lots of parking and a little spot even for truck and small trailers. Would definitely stay here again!

Nice room, fair rate, indoor pool on grounds, microwave and fridge in room with coffee maker, nice restaurant… great place to stay, will plan it into my next trip!

Really good food and the service was ok — my only beef would be the waitress bringing us the bill and debit machine and we hadn't decided if we were finished or not — setting tables for breakfast crowd and closing the section and I hadn't finished my wine or decided if we were having dessert … It was only 8pm…

It's a hotel alright. Well, technically it's a motel with a nice hotel facade upfront. The rooms are unspectacular, bathroom isnt as clean or modern as I'd expect, beds are serviceable and you get an old fashioned key to unlock the room not a key card. Probably worth the price of admission but just barely.

Plain rooms and terrible internet speeds. Although they don't have a continental breakfast, they do provide $10 breakfast vouchers for the restaurant. I paid $6 for a pretty good made-to-order breakfastbreakfast. I'd give this a much higher rating if it didn't take 10 minutes to load Gmail.

Staff are friendly and the rooms are clean but the restaurant is way over priced. The Wi-Fi is terrible. It cuts in and out and is very inconsistent. The televisions are archaic.

From the outside this doest look too swanky and the interior picture here is dated. The rooms have been updated and have all the amenities. They are also pet friendly. This was one of the best places we stayed on the Alcan. They also give you a voucher for $10 to use at the grill and the food there is great. Try the candy salmon salad. The service at the grill is good but the staff really doesnt know much about the area or seem to care. The ladies at the front desk are very helpful and nice.

Over the years, my husband and I have stayed at the Aspen Inn several times and have been thoroughly impressed! We have found it to be a family friendly place. We have stayed here with our children as it is the only hotel in Smithers that features a swimming pool. The hotel rooms were comfortable and updated with wooden oak furniture and decorated in dark green, burgandy and brown tones. Our dining experience last visit at the new RiverHouse lounge was outstanding! We had an intimate dinner with superb food in very unique surroundings. There is so much to take in from the waterfall in the entranceway, to the artifacts mounted on the walls, to the classic wine cellar. The fireplace gave it a warm ambiance. We ate at the RiverHouse restaurant for breakfast and once again had great food and service. The manager was friendly and helpful as were the front desk staff. We would certainly recommend this hotel not just to families, but anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable stay with delicious food!
