Nice size room and with a balcony, bonus. Atmosphere and staff are great, pool and bar are awesome. Only drawback, food is OVER priced, brunch is to be avoided at all cost, not worth the price tag of 34$

What a horrible experience I’ve never been treated so rudely in my entire life especially by people in hospitality. The way the hotel staff talked to me with such attitude and disrespect was uncalled for. Just completely RUDE. I felt racially profiled and wasn’t treated fairly. The way they talked down to me was unbelievable. The people at the hotel would lie to me about the pool, first they said just come down then was told to “go find something else to do” and that I had to book a room in order to even get at the pool just so the hotel can get money from me and then charge me for two rooms. I’ve sent two emails regarding my stay and no one has replied to make amends or even apologize. Would definitely not recommend this place. The rooms are very small for the price.

Friendly staffs, nice and cozy place to be hangout.

This is the most disgusting hotel on so many levels. Where to start, when you pay $300 for a room. You would only HOPE they had amble security given this is a hotel DOWNTOWN. There is NO security, they have NO CAMERAS ON THE FLOORS. We had a man, high on drugs, try to break in our room. Not to mention they don’t have a safety lock on the doors. Someone must have pulled the fire alarm, the entire hotel was evacuated at 2:30 in the morning. Just when we were TOLD IT WAS SAFE TO RETURN TO OUR ROOM… this man walks out of the elevator, bleeding, high on drugs.
Literally sick to my stomach because they told us it was safe… THERE IS NO SAFETY HERE. This is a hotel where sex workers come and go with drug addicts and people are able to walk into the hotel off the street. They don’t even have a secondary locks on the hotel rooms.

What horrible horrible nasty from desk staff! I should of know when I had to call back twice and speak to four different people just to book a room for one night that the service at the front desk would be horrendous. The pool and room were great. The valet guys were awesome. But that’s as far as any of it goes. I can say there was no smiles or goodbyes for that matter. I had questions that were joy answered or I got condescending answers. When I asked why I had a bunch of food charges that were supposedly included in a package I added, the desk girl scoffed and said Well that’s not included. I said I asked four people yesterday and no one said those were the details. Her mad the manager in not so many words blamed me for not knowing and straight up to bad. I was so embarrassed I just wanted to pay and leave. It was the worst experience at a hotel. Also as the manager was rudely saying too bad in her own passive aggressive words, the other front desk girl was shaking her had at me! I felt lower than dirt. Just for trying to understand extra charges and how I was not told this properly. I would never of added the package as I paid for the package plus extra charges and didn’t even use the package I paid for (which is what I thought I was doing). Ya ell yo day I feel like garbage is an understatement. Nice hotel but that’s it. — Dissatisfaction and feeling terrible.

I must say this is, hands down, the best hotel I have stayed at in years! The best customer service, staff went over and above to make our stay perfect. Very clean, comfortable beds, the pool area is breath taking… 5 stars all around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great hotel except was told parking was included from night clerk "just use your room card to get out"
Went to leave and $21 for parking from 7 pm till 10 am.
Prepare for an extra $21 charge for parking. If we would have known that we would have either parked or stayed somewhere elsewjere it's included!
Maybe get your staff to mention upon check in that there is an extra $21 parking and not just "use your room card to get out. "

We stayed during the Fleetwood mac concert and it was amazing. Staff is super friendly, room was very clean and nice. The steam shower was so great. Comfortable bed and great view. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Thanks hotel arts for giving us a wonderful and memorable date night.

Amazing everything service, top notch and one of my favourite venue to DJ! Raw Bar and Yellow Door are always on point and the rooms are beauttiful.

They ensure that everyone who has an event or wedding there have the best experience possible and it shows every time! Bravo to everyone at Hotel Arts!

It is a great venue for an event and the food was amazing.

I don't know how Hotel Arts didn't get a 5 star all around. Gorgeous place. The staff were all extremely friendly and genuine. The room we wanted was unavailable (I think there was a mix up when we booked online) and when we got there we had been upgraded for free to a luxury suite! Couldn't have been happier. The beds were so amazingly comfortable we did not want to leave. Just absolutely the best stay I've ever had.

Really great stay! Bed was super comfortable. The room was clean and modern! Very trendy hotel. We had a beautiful view of downtown with a balcony which is an added bonus. The front desk staff were accommodating and friendly. Even had a little mishap in the parking lot and they solved the issue right away :) overall amazing choice in hotel and will definitely stay again!

Only got to stay one night, but we were quite impressed. Our 12th floor room had a balcony with nice view of the pool. Room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Checking in/out and parking were all easy. Hopefully get to stay there (longer) again. Now if Calgary could just redesign their street numbering system…!

I've stayed here a few times and we just recently spent a day at the pool for a stagette. This is a lovely hotel and the rooms are beautiful. It's nice to stay so close to downtown. The outdoor pool is amazing. The day we were there they had a DJ playing. The servers were very attentive and took great care of us. We had some super delicious food as well.

Attended a few events here now. This time was a wedding. The banquet rooms were nicely appointed, well set up. The dinner was well done, even though the steaks were a tad bit over done at our table and the salads were in desperate need of more dressing. The table and bar service for drinks was great and prices were reasonable for what they were serving. In between the ceremony and reception, we spent some time at raw bar. They were busy with wedding traffic and, since it had started to rain, their patio traffic moved inside as well. Our server, Barnett, handled the influx of people well. You could tell he was busy but he still gave great professional service.

We had our wedding at Hotel Arts yesterday and it could not have gone better! Very well organized, with professional and friendly staff. We had dinner at the Yellow door and had room service for breakfast and both were fantastic! Nothing but compliments from our guests about the food and room set up. Jim went above and beyond with set up, lighting and decorating, absolutely loved his vision and insight. The room we stayed in was bright and clean. Thanks to all the staff but especially Nicola and Jim. Highly recommend Hotel Arts as a wedding venue.

The hotel tries to be upscale and nice but misses the mark on the fine details. Our bathroom had caked on grime on the door handle, light switch and the door itself was sticky. The staff person who checked us in was really rude but the staff outside of her were really great. The pool is nice but no one knows the rules for it, we heard 2 different rules from 4 different people which left us confused and disappointed. We made a reso for the pool and asked if we could eat and drink, they said yes but turns out the time we booked was closing time yet no one told us. So no clear communication. If the rooms are on sale I'd stay again but not full price. Have a meal at yellow door you won't regret it!

The hotel staff is friendly and the rooms are modern, spacious and clean. Even though there was music and it was very busy at the pool I didn't experienced any problems whatsoever. The room has a balcony and the option to have the door open. This is a feature which I really like because I like fresh air during sleeping. The room had a big bed, TV, coffee machine, desk, and enough lamps. The bathroom is a shower in a bathtub, sink with a big mirror, complimentary soap, lotion, shampoo, conditioner etc. You can hear the TV in the adjacent room when it is on and the gym is not that big and opens at 6 am. These 2 points are actually the only 2 negative points I could find and are not that big of a problem. Nice stay and I enjoyed the ambiance.

We had a pretty disappointing stay at Hotel Arts — it was somewhere I'd wanted to stay in Calgary for a long time and so I thought we'd give it a go. First issue — if you book a standard room, you will be hauling your luggage down a set of stairs and along a long hallway. We were at the far end which made it particularly annoying. All they needed was another luggage cart or dolly on this level. When I mentioned this to the front desk, they said that I had only booked a standard room and not a luxury — pretty rude customer service in front of other guests! Next, our A/C/heater did not work properly and was stuck on max all night. No sleep at all. It wasn't until 7am that I could find a maintenance guy that told me to pull the thermostat out of the wall to cut the power to the unit. Managed 3 hours of sleep after that, though sadly did not get to enjoy the pool as we had to leave after that. The duvet was not clean and looked like it either had makeup or blood stains on it. Really not up to par for this level of hotel. So Hotel Arts, I'll be sticking with a hostel next time I want to drag all my luggage 100 meters by myself.

Reservations are horrible. We tried to place a reservation on their website but they had a glitch. So we called to make a reservation over the phone. NOBODY told us that it was a non-refundable reservation at the time of booking. When I called to cancel the reservation, they said we made the reservations online and therefore if we cancel we do not get the money back. I went back and forth with all of their reservation consultants and all they could say was "You booked this online" WHICH WE DID NOT. All they wanted to was argue about "what their system said" IF THE SYSTEM/WEBSITE DIDN'T GLITCH IN THE FIRST PLACE WE WOULDN'T BE HAVING THIS ARGUMENT. So furious. Was excited to go but we had to cancel. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful art. Rooms were well-appointed with comfortable beds and pillows. Bathroom lighting has something to be desired for putting on makeup. But overall a place I would recommend. The hotel Arts has a great staff who made our visit very enjoyable!

What an awesome hotel! Well appointed and clean room, super comfortable bed, lots of amenities. I always find hotels to be awfully pricey for what you actually get — this is an exception. The comfort/convenience per dollar is top notch. Top of my list for my next stay in Calgary. Highly recommend!

Lovely place! Unlike US hotels, they provided 3 urns of tea water that were full all day for the class I took. (US hotels cut you off when the first urn runs dry. ) A small detail, but they think of everything.

Nice hotel with very friendly and attentive staff. Rooms are nice as is the inside of the hotel. The lobby has a nice area to sit near the fireplace. Two good restaurants inside as well.

My first visit there. Bar and restaurant was expensive, as you might expect from a downtown hotel, but many, many places ate just walking distances away. Conference rooms s big with good audio/video. Food was great also. Staff was fantastic, very helpful.

Our stay at the hotel was excellent. Everything from the amenities to the restaurants were great. The staff is very courteous, professional and friendly, and will go out of their way to keep their guests satisfied. We stayed in the king suite and it was just an excellent stay. Definitely recommend the hotel and will definitely be back.

Stayed in a single king room. Very interesting decor in the rooms and throughout the hotel. There's also a TV in the bathroom mirror! As this used to be an apartment building the rooms are larger than average, and I believe they all have balconies which is great in the summer. There was one technical issue with low water pressure in the bar sink, but the bathroom one was fine. Soundproofing was surprisingly good as well, not sure if anyone was staying next door but I heard nothing through the night.

Have always had a great, clean room. The service is perfect time and time again. Yellow Door and Raw Bar are ultra consistent! Highly recommended.

Went here for a corporate Christmas party. The facility is fairly spacious and is quite flexible in terms of how the events can be set up. This event in particular used up theall the event rooms as well as the Raw Bar. The staff was super friendly, and the food was outstanding. We were able to partake in various styles of food from Sushi to Lobster Risotto to roast beef. The choices of what to eat was amazing. The bar service was also fast and friendly too. The facility on the whole has a modern sleek vibe, and is very clean. The foyer is bright and wide with a view of the pool located in a central courtyard, and there is a large fireplace seating area to relax in. I can say much about the rooms as it was fully booked, however the only knock I have against this location is parking. Since the hotel is located in a popular area, with many restaurants and bars and pubs, parking is difficult to find. The hotel only has a lot for guest and it's typically full, so street parking is the only other alternative.

We recently stayed at this hotel for an event at the bmo center and it was great. The staff was friendly and always willing to help us out. The room was clean and bright and organized! The bathroom large and clean. We truly enjoyed our stay. The only complaint we have is the shower head was wonky and hard to adjust. And the temperature of water truly unpredictable.

I was in the central. Around Calgary Tower, Saddledome and restaurants.

The hotel venue rooms are absolutely gorgeous and spacious. To my surprise they had provided coat rack for the meeting I had attended there and had very lovely refreshments served. All the staff were very friendly and the hotel lobby and hallways going towards the hall we had our meetings in were absolutely clean. Would love to have another event held here soon.

We recently held our wedding at Hotel Arts in the summer and were so happy with everything. Brian was an absolute gem to work with from beginning to end. He was super knowledgeable and helpful during the entire process and nothing was impossible. The staff at Hotel Arts was absolutely great and professional. The service leading up to the wedding to the day of was wonderful. From the valet staff, to front desk, catering, to housekeeping, they were so quick to respond to any of our requests. I would highly recommend Hotel Arts for anyone who is planning to host their wedding locally in Calgary. The food was also wonderful from cocktails, to entree, dessert, and midnight snack. The service during our wedding reception was also wonderful as guests felt like they were dining in a restaurant. Thank you Hotel Arts for all your help in making our Wedding Day so memorable.

I am not the one to publicly complain, but. My (now) husband and I spent our wedding night at Hotel Arts last Saturday. When we arrived, we went up to the room to find our champagne was warm (no ice), they had “Welcome Greg” on the bed, instead of Travis and mine names, and the bed was not even made. And to add to it, there was no duvet cover on the duvet, it was just the plain blanket with a white sheet thrown over the mattress. Here is the best part, we also had dried blood on our duvet. So nice. So after complaining, they said there is nothing they can do for us, besides upgrade us on our next stay. No thanks. After I already paid my $315 for the night, this was the worst stay ever… Will definitely not be staying here ever again, especially since my wedding night turned out like this.

Favorite hotel in Calgary! Never had a chance to stay but I've heard nothing but good things. Staff are friendly and helpful. Cool mix of restaurants and bars. Absolutely love the pool during the summer months. Need more of this in our beautiful city!

Went here for a wedding. Great venue, marvelous good, attentive but unobtrusive staff. Good layout for the meal and dance floor. The wedding party stayed overnight which is another nice feature.

Located in downtown Calgary, Hotel Arts has a good feel to it. Work out space on the second floor was small, but perfect for a hotel stay. Room was nice and price was decent for downtown. Room service needs a little bit of work. Ex. The shower had dispensers for soap, shampoo, and conditioner. Mine were initially empty and not filled after 2 nights. Furthermore, after requesting for them to be filled, only 2 of the 3 were filled. More attention to small details would warrant a 5 star rating.

The rooms were very nice and clean. But not sound proof especially du to bathroom vents. My room key would stop working about 3 times a day but the staff are very friendly. The building inside is lovely but the outside could use some work. The pool is awesome and the restaurants had great food.

We stayed at Hotel Arts for two days and were fairly disappointed with the whole experience. We had a very basic room on the second floor which had many dings and defects in the decor. Our shower ran incredibly hot and no amount of fiddling with with temperature would adjust the water. The air conditioning in our room was incredibly loud and incredibly ineffective. The thermostat was set to 19, yet the room wouldn't drop below 27. It was 32 outside both days we were there so it felt way too warm in the room. We also had a very rowdy room next to us that had their music turned up for most of the night and were often heard coming in and out of the hallway yelling and screaming. We made a noise complaint and the front desk staff were quick to quiet that room down. The second night we were there they were also loud, but no loud music playing or yelling in the hallways. Aside from those downsides, the staff were all very nice and we enjoyed the location of this hotel. I don't think we will be back though.

From booking my room to the free upgrade and great pool experience I would give this hotel 5 stars. But since the shower curtain had a number of gross stains on it I have to reduce this hotel to 2 stars. Not only were there stains but lumps of what looked like poop. It was disgusting!

Edited to change to 3 stars, was originally 1 star, solely because of the excellent bar staff and breakfast server. Booked a night for a nice getaway with my wife with the sole purpose of using the pool (we live in town) and wanted to have a few drinks and not worry about driving home. I spent $200 on the room for a single night, only to have the pool closed for health issues. Okay, no big deal, that happens sometimes. So we decide to go sit poolside, like many other people, to enjoy a drink and some food. The servers completely ignored us for one hour, not even a single hello and no offers for even a water. Didn't even look at us. But continued to serve the people around us. I Went to the front desk after an hour of waiting for a simple water and the manager offers us a single breakfast credit. (Most hotels I've been too include this anyways) and said there is nothing else they can do. On top of that they're still making me pay for parking… thanks! Will never be booking here again. Highly recommend for everyone to stay away. Poor service all around.

Rather lovely surroundings and very nice staff. The pool is in a central courtyard just off the lobby and it seems to be a hot spot for local young people. The restaurant has excellent cuisine, lots of wine choices and a nice brunch buffet. Unfortunately we missed the brunch on Sunday because it was too full and being a hotel guest makes no difference, you have to have a reservation. If you aren't into checking for details like reservations, it might get a bit hard to get a meal. It was too much of a nuisance to cruise Calgary looking for breakfast so we ate our car snacks to fend off insulin shock.

So far so good…! The rooms are beautiful, the beds are so comfortable. Everything was just gorgeous. And friendly staff as well.! I recommend the ARTS to everyone.! :)

Best hotel in Calgary. Recently renovated rooms, 2 great restaurants and great location. Easy access to downtown businesses and the Saddle Dome.

Hotel arts is a good hotel perfect for hosting events was only there for a seminar location is very close to downtown.

Worst experience ever. Stayed here the halloween night, people were partying in their rooms so we had to change rooms TWICE at midnight in our pjs carrying all the luggages. The hotel did not offer us any upgrade or anything. Underground parking was filthy and we had to pay for it. People slamming doors the whole night. Dont stay here if you want some place quiet.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in April 2015 as a treat for my birthday. I was very pleased with our experience. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the decor was trendy but not pretentious (okay maybe a little pretentious but it was somehow still charming). The beds were very comfortable, and despite being on a busy downtown street, we could hear relatively little noise from outside. The staff was very kind and prompt. Upon trying to sleep, we were awoken by a group of people hanging out in the hallway. I imagine they were getting ready for a night on the town, but they were very loud. I informed the front desk, and a lady arrived to ask them to please return to their rooms. It was all done very quickly and without any arguments or rude behaviour from anyone. The breakfast in bed was quite good. It was a little overpriced, but room service typically is. I would absolutely stay again, and recommend it to my friends and family.

My favourite place to have a "staycation"! Excellent staff & restaurants!

I was really excited for my stay at the Hotel Arts. As soon as I arrived at the hotel I was already encountering problems. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I had called to confirm that I was able to make a cash deposit. As soon as I finally arrived to the hotel from out of town, the woman at the front desk pretty much told me that I am a liar and that was never said to me. It all honesty I was hurt and quite embarrassed. Though, I stood my ground and after much contemplating they finally adjusted it for me so I could make a cash deposit. I was grateful for them bending around their rules to accommodate me, though, it should have never been a problem in the first place. As well, when I was there it was a bummer that for some reason we could not swim in the swimming pool. As well, as having to pay over ten dollars a day just to use their Wi-Fi seems a little bit ridiculous considering it should be included. I also did not like the factor that their was not a mini fridge of some sorts in the hotel room. My last complaint would be that I needed a band aid and the front desk charged me for two band aids. I only stayed here one night, not sure if I would ever stay here again though.

This hotel is a niche "boutique", "artsy" hotel. From the moment you walk in, the lobby is filled with classy furniture and art pieces. Unfortunately, the quality of the service is not up to par. I have stayed at hotels like this before (e. G. The Kimpton in Chicago) — — most of these mid-high end boutique hotels have impeccable service. Unfortunately, this hotel did not offer free Wi-Fi; room service took 30 minutes to deliver a toothbrush/toothpaste; and the bedroom (a standard king-sized bed for 1-2 people) was dusty. I would recommend staying at a mainstream/budget hotel (e. G. The Holiday Inn) as you can probably get the same/better quality experience for a lower price.

Glad to hear that this hotel is getting renovated. I like it for a nice summer day by the pool but otherwise I felt that it was a bit run down. Now that hey had the renovations I think it might be just what was needed to rejuvenate it.

Need help. The hotel is a bit dated. Teh rooms are a bit run down as are the restuarants in the hotel.

Liked the hotel but had some issues with transparency and staff. Felt there could have been better communication. Shocked that they charged for Wi-Fi! Were not clear on the costs for parking. When we arrived on Friday, we were told that the valet parking was $20 and self-parking was $10. Didn't seem too bad, until we found out three days later that that cost was per day! Which was especially frustrating because some days we didn't even move the cars. Would have been nice to know that to use the pool, you needed to reserve a table. Thought we could just run down for a quick dip and were not overly pleased that we needed to make a reservation and wait. The problem was though that the staff were not great at communicating this need to make a reservation. The same issue occurred at The Yellow Door for a Sunday brunch. All in all though, very clean and comfortable rooms and fantastic location. Just wish the hotel would be more upfront about charges and reservation policies.

Don't stay here! Save your money and hit a Holiday Inn instead. Guests are charged for underground parking, something I've never had happen at any other hotel. Want wireless internet in your room? $10.45 per day. Breakfast was $50 for two meals and some coffee, it was cold, they cooked our eggs wrong and brought ham instead of bacon. This from the apparently respectable Yellow Door restaurant. Want to sleep before 3:00AM? Too bad, unless you like the sound of doors slamming all night from people returning from the bar. This place isn't quiet at all. No fridge, no microwave, no fan in the bathroom. I've stayed in work camps up north with more amenities than this hotel. Absolute joke. Avoid this place at all costs.

Good location, very cute hotel. The Raw Bar was fabulous and all of the staff were very friendly and attentive. The lobby was gorgeous, but the rooms were not what I expected for the amount of money that was spent. We were there 2 nights and paid $400. The room was small and rather plain, and the bathroom had a very tiny tub. Not terrible, but it was the same kind of room I've stayed in paying half that price. The walls were also very thin, you could hear anything happening in the bathroom and hallway. I couldn't hear anything from the neighboring rooms, but when someone spoke in the hallway it sounded like they were in your room. The Yellow Door Bistro was also rather expensive for what you got. The food wasn't bad, but wasn't worth the price. We had one drink, two mains and two desserts and it came to over $100. The Raw Bar is similarly priced, but with much better food. All in all, I'm not rushing to stay there again, but it was an enjoyable weekend nonetheless.

Terrible service. Staff are rude, unhelpful. Refused to give me a replacement key to my room when I lost my key. Dinner in "RAW" service was worse! Server forgot to put our main course order in, we waited TWO HOURS! for our main course. Manager came over Comp'd our meal but was quite rude and unapologetic. We had to cancel our plans that night, manager said "We Comp'd your meal not sure what else you want me to do", he refused to apologize! I didn't care about the free meal I just would have been happy with a "we are very sorry about this". But no! When we went to our room after checking in someone had "used" the toilet and didn't flush it. Disgusting! We didn't even bother to tell the staff about that because they just argued everything and we wanted to avoid the stress. Horrible hotel, rude staff, dark, not very clean DO NOT STAY HERE.
