It's not new but this very careful clean towels good view… and friendly staff.

Located in the Avenida Beira Mar, you can reach the route 415 of buses (3.80 reales the passage in normal buses) that crosses all the south of the beaches in Avenida Nossa Senhora de Copacabana. Another advantage is that by its door passes the VLT (modern tram) to the height of the station Presidente Carlos of the VLT. Located 2 minutes walk from Santos Dumond Airport. Being on the last avenue it gives for the big parks and the pier, there is no movement, no commerce, no shops. It is next to the Plaza Italia, in the evenings it is desolate and better to return by taxi and not walk through the dark. I stayed on the 8th floor with a view of the street, there the photos, basic lodging without luxuries, cheap and close to the airport.

It doesn't even reach a two star hotel. Being old could be appealing, but it's totally sloppy. Repairs badly cast and of very bad taste. Old mattress, only one elevator in use. We arrived and had to wait for them to clean our room to get in. If I had gone to a motel it was better and paid half.

Good place for u on a short scale, clean and well located if you want to be close to the airport.

The location is very good. The hotel is old but it is comfortable. The place is not so quiet. The services is somewhat good.

Location: Not in a good area, walking distance to SDU airport that is a plus Hotel Staff: They are okay some speak English. Room: Very low quality. I am a low maintenance traveler however this room not recommended at all. Full of bugs, and dirty room. Bathroom: Dirty and Nasty,

It is a good hotel near the airport but a little removed from COPACABANA.

Hotel thought in business, excellent access to the means of transport the breakfast fairly complete and the products that serve very well kept and preserved, the beds very comfortable and fluffy, with a view to the Sugar loaf. Things that subtract a little is the style but this comment is very subjective, to my liking is not the right one!

Near the airport. You can walk there. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location, if you are going to an event at Vivo Rio, you can just cross the street and get there by walking 5 min. The rooms are big enouth and clean, the only negative point is that there's no much switch plugs. Great bathroom, breakfast and service.

Low cost, good experience. Well located, near the airport, metro and Vlt station, so you can get easily to most theaters and museums. Nice view of Sugar Loaf Mountain.

Hotel com baixa infro estrutura. Por ser um Othon, deveriam ter um atendimento melhor. Logo quando cheguei no hotel, a pessoa da recepção foi ríspido e mal educado. Hotel não fornece lanche a noite, ar — condicionado antigo, barulhento. A cama muito antiga, cheia de barulhos com o colchão e travesseiros HORRÍVEIS! No segundo dia que fiquei hospedado, pedi um outro travesseiro, o proprio recepcionista, informou que os travesseiros são ruins. Além de vc vrigar a noite toda com os pernilongos. Não recomendo para ninguem. Acho que pelo nome dos hotéis Othon, esse é uma vergonha!

A nice hotel with good location. In my stay the elevador wasn't working and the apartments doesn't has air. Service was good.

Decent hotel, not so comfortable beds, good breakfast, nice staff. Very convenient for its location right next to the airport. Wouldn't recommend for a longer stay.

The Service was ok, they where gentle and nice. Acomodations were not good mostly because the hotel is really old. It is, however, really clase to the airport.

I went in August to be a cheap hotel super good rooms and the breakfast the best good care and close to all metro and airport.

I thought the hotel as run by the Brazilian government. Excuses for stealing your money. Stay was cut short and with 24 hour notice they still charged for nights not used. I should have grabbed a ladrao (criminal) and allowed them to stay there. They would have felt at home, bunch of thieves at Hotel Othon.

A shame this hotel. Nothing serious and irresponsible service! I do not recommend staying there.

I have read the previous reviews of hotel. To us it seemed a hotel with an excellent location, 300 metres you can find the the metro station and from there go to where you want, beaches, Sugar Loaf, Christ, and is close to the national library, the theatre, among others, it is a modest hotel breakfast is very good and is located in what sector they (the Brazilians) call center.
Hotel recommend it for people that do not seek luxury, but get to know this beautiful city of Rio de janeiro and who likes to know the city walking among his people. Greetings, we hope to be back by river.

I have lived here for about 3 months on and off, due to a job at the nearby airport Santos Dumont. The internet here is crappy, they have computers on the first floor for use that are slow as hell and lock up, but also charge by the minute, hour or by day. You can use the Wi-Fi on your laptop. If you are lucky and are on the second floor you can pick up the Wi-Fi in your room. breakfast is decent, very european. Cold cuts of meat, cheese, fruit, bread, very runny scrambled eggs. im fairly certain one room has bed mites because every night I wake up with severe itchyness on my face and hands. This happened in room 209. if you ask for your laundry to be done express expect 3 days for it to be done. This to me is unacceptable. the only people here that speak english is generally one person at the front desk. So room service must go through there if you don't speak portuguese like me. And expect strange orders of food. For example one time I ordered pasta and got a ham and cheese sandwich. Another time I ordered a hamburger and got a ham, cheese and egg sandwich. this location is not near any tourist attractions, if you want to go to fun places, expect to pay $20 reals per trip, approximately $10 us each way. And that is just to copa cabana beach. Not further to places like the cross or sugar loaf. not many restaurants near by the location, and if you eat late expect only a sandwich or maybe a hamburger and on another note the french fries are never cooked enough.

But the hotel is not quite there. The hotel is VERY old and definitely needs a top to bottom renovation. It is indeed very conveniently located if you are on a business trip downtown and minutes from the domestic airport. Wireless internet is available. In-room amenities are OLD. Minibar looks like it came straight from a bad 70s movies, the furniture is beaten up, bed is too soft and small. Bathroom looks like your grandma's and I regret to say, doesn't look very well sanitized. We stayed at a room on the 2nd floor, facing the Beira Mar Avenue and oh boy. That was noisy. Windows were not able to block even half of the traffic noise from the Avenue. Hotel crew didn't help much either. Elevator is also probably from the 50s and still requires an elevator operator to work. I am glad I was able to walk downstairs. I don't recommend staying at this hotel unless you really need to stay close to the airport or some of the financial centers nearby.
