The mattress and bedding were the best I could wish for. Please, staff at Mercure Wien Westbahnhof, may I have the brand name and other details of the mattresses in your rooms? I want to buy one! Many other good things about the hotel. Excellent full breskfasts included, and convenient locayion to downtown and also the mall is only a 10 minute walk.

Booked a Privilege Room, but hotel said we were booked into a standard room — even showed them the booking from BA. Duty Manager quite argumentative and refused to honour the booking. Only on our last night did we get some of the amenities that were booked and paid for — and not because of the hotel! Poor guest experience…

Good breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, old rooms, poor AC in hot weather, perfect location.

Very clean, awesome and rich breakfast, good connection to city center and Schonnbrun. Room was without AC but we could switch to an AC room for an extra 10 eur (we did not need). Luggage room was of great help both for check in and checkout. Overall a very pleasant stay in Vienna.

Had a school trip that stayed here, nearly 3/4 of all rooms had broken air conditioning, and it was the middle of summer. Conditions of the rooms could be improved. Only good thing is the toilet which is massive compared to the room itself, and breakfast is decent but at a costly €14 per day, when there’s a burger king and mcdonalds just across the road. Better off staying at a newer and closer-to-city-centre hotel for the same price.

My stay was okay but the hotel started harassing me and my colleagues months after our stay their even though their system provided us with email confirmation, receipt and their staff provided a receipt confirming that we paid. They emailed me through an odd email address months after the stay claiming that the payment did not go through and that I should send them my sensitive credit card information through email or that I should call long-distance which charges do apply to tell them my credit card info. This is very unprofessional and I expected more from them. There is no proper procedure from them to handle these situation and they will result to harassment or threats of escalating the issue to the legal department through email while still not providing a safe and secure way to or even an apology for their mistake. I strongly advise people to not even bother dealing with this hotel because this is not how you provide proper customer service especially if the mistake is on them.

It is a hotel passing the stars which to not worth them the air conditioning does not exist.

Room OK, clean and for 1 night fully adequate. The breakfast, however, was at €14 an absolute impudence! We were simply seated at a table where there were already two ladies who were not even asked if they were right to join us. The climate was set far too cold and pulled us on the heads. Hardly any choice, the breakfast eggs cooked hard, no egg cups sorted by, no cheese platter for a long time, fresh cheese and spreads were empty and were not refilled, the vegetables too coarsely cut (cucumber slices with 4 cm thickness is slightly too much), the Scrambled eggs tasted like instant food, the pastries dry. I definitely expect more at this price.

The hallways carry sound a big too well and the doors don't do a good job of sound proofing. I was woken up at 1am by other guests on my floor. This can really use improvement. Additionally the glass extension of the shower proves to be impractical because water always splashes out through the gap onto the bathroom floor. This can be dangerous and lead to slipping. That aside no complaints. The location is excellent, the reception kind. Prices reasonable.

Well located hotel. Right next to the Westbahnhof. 3 minutes to U — Bahn. 500 metres to the Stadthalle.

Great room, the room was really clean and staff very welcoming. Good English skills for foreign visitors.

We were now 3 nights at this hotel and were actually very pleased. The rooms are a bit dated but are well maintained. We had a corner room on the 2nd floor, but it was winter and the windows closed. In the room it was so quiet. Breakfast was normal, but the scrambled eggs were quite tasteless. The hotel industry should be away from the manufacture, it is an imposition. The coffee, latte, Cappuccino Extra class.

Excellent location, great location for getting around on all types of transport. The vienna city pass is brilliant. Plus a pass for subway and trams made travelling so easy. The hotel is clean and tidy. All staff were so friendly and helpful. The bar area was very relaxing and comfortable. The bar staff were fantastic, so friendly and professional, and were good for chat when free to do so. Food in the bar area was minimalist but really good. The breakfast was very good, lots of food to choose from. A very organised tidy area even though it was busy at times. They bedrooms were tidy and clean. Cant ask for more than that. Thank you for a brilliant stay.

Clean room. Hotel is very good. There a metro station nearby. Also a big market. And a lot of shops. The breakfast is good. The staff is very friendly and cooperative.

Good hotel, a bit old but clean and with a nice restaurant and bar, sauna and very well located next to the west train station, well connected to the main attractions. Reasonably priced, standard Mercure quality.

There was only one night. Room good. Also clean. Quite quiet despite being exactly on a busy road.
The hammer — not in the positive — is the breakfast… I think it was at €12 p. P.

Good budget hotel. Efficient staff. Nice location. Excellent breakfast spread. Good location. Keep it up. By the way there is good connectivity through various modes of transportation.

Room very good, view on courtyard not very sexy but quiet breakfast at €14 with lots of choice Sauna in the basement included, but it is started on demand so prevent reception 30/45min before the time it heats not tested, but I went there to see and it big and clean.

5 stars! Why?
In December 2017 because we were very impressed with the service offered to us by staff at all levels.
Clearly there were things in the room which could be faulted due to damage, but it is not a new building but everything was clean and intact.
Subway, buses, S-Bahn are within 3 minutes walking distance so that you can explore Vienna from there.
Conclusion: On the next visit to Vienna I would go back to the Mercure.

The hotel is fine, although it should have 3 stars due to the service and amenities. The breakfast is good. The staff at the front desk were very unfriendly and moody.

A pleasant, friendly hotel. Close to city transport, ie trams and ubahn and a 20 minute walk from city centre sights. Hotel clean and comfy. Didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. Good value for money.

Centrally located, close to the station U3 (Viennese Metro), comfortable with nicely furnished rooms. Our room was equipped with coffee maker/tea with various filters. The front desk staff as well as the restaurant attendants are very helpful and we did not have any problems with our language.

A 4 star hotel not worthy!
Abgerocktes bath with defective tile joints, abgeplatzter lacquer at the door frame. Immense volume due to traffic in the room.
An info-folder to the hotel and its offers is completely absent.
The breakfast is very good.
Nevertheless, Vienna is definitely worth a visit.

This is a good hotel. The rooms on the street are very noisy. The hotel is very convenient. You can reach the city centre on foot but also take a good train ride.

Very old but clean hotel with friendly staff. Despite online check-in unfortunately still have to wait at the reception, the obviously first trainee young lady has not found us at all in the system. A visit to the hotel bar is highly recommended.

The rooms are OK and clean but have been around for years. Exciting also the escape route through the window over a fire rise on the façade.

City Hotel at the West railway station Vienna, good location to explore the city of Vienna and the surrounding area. Our standard room was small and simple and we had view in the backyard. Our beds had good mattresses. Bathroom is small and has come in the years. Intercontinental Breakfast Buffet. Friendly staff.
Price/performance is OK.

Nice Hotel, large and spacious, located to the side of the station west of Vienna.

Clean quiet hotel. Real bonus, the free use of their business computer meant some urgent and critical printing was completed with ease.

The Hotel Mercure is located Central on the Western railway station. From here, you can go very well with the underground U 3 Orange to the sights. Who to foot is good, and even more would like to see go on foot from the Hotel, for example, to Museum Quartier, Museum square 1. Or a Taxi for a Museum visit takes
(Leopold Museum) costs about ten to twelve Euro. The Hotel is very clean and friendly staff help you gladly if you have any questions. Internet, for example, I liked well as you can use for free. For dinner I would recommend in the evening, however, a quieter place where the Restaurant is located together with the Bar. So it can happen when a group in the Bar is very loud. In my experience, I would perceive the offer next Time, just in case of emergencies. There is a strong very good Breakfast. So I can recommend it to visit for a few days in Vienna. If you get there early Bay, there are even special offers, or simply call the Hotel to know the current price.

Great location near the metro and close to shops, bars and restaurants. A little bit old but rooms are clean, good service, nice sauna in the basement. OK breakfast, there is also a bar and restaurant.

I don't know how people have had a problem with this hotel. I was upgraded to a top-floor suite which was very nice. Staff on reception were friendly and helpful. I have stayed in a normal room before and that was good too. Breakfast is pretty good, the usual fairly wide Mercure selection. Good location for local trains, and trams and the U-Bahn. I will definitely stay here again.

Not the best neighborhood in Vienna. Very good reception and service.

Stayed during late February/Early March (experienced my first European Shrove Tuesday in Vienna). Fairly distant from the heart of town, but in a very nice neighborhood and convenient distance from the U-Bahnhof. Rooms are fairly expensive, but cozy and clean with one of the nicest hotel bathing experiences I have ever had. Hotel lounge was nice, with friendly servers. Breakfast was not mind-blowing, but was exactly what I needed to get on the go. Overall, lovely facilities in a safe area with a friendly, if to-the-point, staff.

Aging Establishment. The room was very good but the room was crowded and we had to share our table. The location is very nice.

A good place to stay in Vienna. The location is in a side street, but still in a good part of town. The staff was quick but fairly frank in their demeanor. Not all were fluent in English, but I wasn't fluent in Deutsch so I can't complain. The bar was also strangely standoffish, but the drinks were good. The breakfast was also decent. Rooms were clean and well made. Comfortable enough for a night stay.

Overall a very bad price-performance ratio and a bad customer experience. The service at the front desk is not courteous at all, partly even unfriendly. The rooms are in high need renovation (leaking windows, peeling paint, terrible mattresses and broken silicone seals in the bathroom). After arrival was initially offered a room, that was not really cleaned (hair in the bathroom, very dirty carpet, etc. ). On request the room could be changed, in a room equally in need of ren…ovation. After this experience, I tried to shorten the stay. This request was handled by the reception only after the third notice and after 3 days in total. The stay was thus shortened with the indication that the remaining nights are fully refunded.
The greatest jubilation was, however, that the secured rate per night increased retroactively and thus a higher total amount resulted. From the front desk the sole response was, that one would have to contact the reservation department to sort things out. Overall simply disappointing.

We weren't there very long, but everything we saw was great. Good food, good staff, good beds, but most of us were really really ready to get home and go to bed.

Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast with a large selection. The hotel is very neat. The hotel bar in the evening comfortable. My room was neat could but use a renovation.

Rooms are clean but these should probably be renovated. Breakfast super.

Unfortunately, the stay was not as good as it permanently with us in the room has cracked and it was very noisy due to the road. The situation is however great and breakfast and generally the food is excellent and the perosnal is stetz very nice. Maybe we should just in the book to note that no rooms gets what is going on the road out.

2 Days Stay
The room was clean and OK.

It was ok. The service was kinda nice, the air conditioning system was working and the rooms were clean. The Wifi was limited to 1 Mb/s but the upload was unlimited. If you really need a fast network connection you could remove the limit for money. The food was alright but you couldn't really choose much. The design of the entrance was great but that changes when you get to the rooms.

Severely disappointed. The staff is seriously overtaxed and not only that. Also some very rude and it is fed up with unpleasant things. First, money was stolen from my hotel room from my closed cases, which was hidden between the neatly folded clothes. The next morning (after full day absence), the money was uber, which first failed to grasp, since the clothes still neatly in the case. The reception promised to speak with housekeeping and Directorate and me then the solution to present unless clarified by then. The solution was a very rude older receptionist, who refused even to call the police and described us a wrong way to the police station. This was that, through the key cards get there gets per PC expression it was proven that only I, then the housekeeping and then again I was in the room.
This hotel never see me again! The Hotel Manager, the Empfangsschef is normally in such incidents not two minutes later and the housekeeper available, trying to solve the problem, but nothing was done, I was just gently "abuse".

I have several complaints about this hotel booked through wholesaler CONDOR VACACIONES, assignment room without asking about non-smoking, air conditioning (fan broken), do not have in-room double curtain insulated from light, if one takes into account that in Vienna in mid-June, about 04:30 in the morning it is completely day. No replacement of toilet articles. Possibly there are two types of accommodation according to how you book, but since then has nothing to do with the category 4 star, nor with the vision that is created through's web page.
