Very friendly staff, even found us a fan on a hot August night. Small but well maintained and quality accommodation. Short walk from the river and main attractions.

Friendly and helpful innkeepers. They brewed nice coffee for breakfast.

A small room for 1 pers. Really small. Cozy but clean. Strict personnel.

Super nice and friendly staff. I arrived in the middle of the night, they welcomed me by my name instantly and everything was ready for me. Its a small cozy hotel that cares a lot about details (even the toilet paper was folded). The breakfast was also very good. I really enjoyed my stay there.

Beautiful 19th century hotel that has been run by the same family for 3 generations. It's close to the train station, walking distance to old town and is well priced.

Super rude personnel, DO NOT COME HERE!

Stayed for two nights and have zero complaints. Easy to get to from the station, easy to get into town by bus or on foot. Comfortable bed, good bathroom. Breakfast was included and good, if pretty standard. Very friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Great local run by nice people.

In the day when we would have to leave, all of our stuff were thrown in rubbish away from room and room was open! We went for a walk in the morning and when we came back and wanted to take our things with us and check them out, we found this. And what was even worse was that housemaid has all the bags in my backpack opened and all things taken away from there and thrown in rubbish! And it was before checkout. That is not acceptable. We've never seen anything like this before! If I had the time I would then call police and make advert! And after that there was no excuse from owner. He accepted the same thing as normal. It may not be true that such a service still exists!
The staff and hotel owners are disappointing, not helpful, not attentive. I have travelled a lot and know what exactly the friendliness means. If people smile at you but that's not from the heart! You can feel it!
Would not recommend this hotel!

Excellent, wonderful breakfast.

This has to be the friendliest family-run hotel in Salzburg. Excellent breakfast, quiet rooms. My only issue is as a person with terrible allergies is that the non-smoking room was very smoky from adjoining rooms. Hence only four-stars. If you are not allergic to smoke then this is the perfect place to stay, near train station, a short, pleasurable walk to the Old Town.

This was a lovely hotel run by really nice people. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Salzburg, it's close to the train station, airport and only around a 20 minute walk to the old town.

Good Wi-Fi and continental breakfast, clean. Stayed here a few nights. Nice and quiet, and a nice walk to central. Helpful to the tourist, at front desk.

We stayed one night at the Hotel Hohenstaufen. Too bad. I'd like to have stayed a few extra days. Linda and her staff are caring and attentive. Please, a note on expectations. If you usually stay at the Hilton or whatever, then the Hohenstaufen may not be for you. It's clean and quiet, laid back and understated. And a very good value. I think the Hotel would be good for families. Very close to Salzburg HBF. Easy to walk to old Salzburg and the Hohensalzburg Fortress.

The hotel is clean, has big locals. Quiet.

From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out we were warmly welcomed
We had to virtually drop our bags at reception and run
Explained to the lovely lady that we had a tour booked and we would be back later to check in we were reassured that everything would be ok and we could do check in later
On our return we were warmly greeted again and given the key to our most charming room for the night

It's like spending a few days at an Austrian grandmother's home. That's how at-home I felt about the place in general. Having that old look gave it so much atmosphere. Breakfast is outstanding.

I have stayed here on two separate trips to Austria and had positive experiences both times. The family that runs the Hotel is very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. I plan to stay here again when I come back.

The Hotel Hohenstauffen is managed by the Reichl family since 1906, so it's unsurprising that me and my auntie felt ourselves welcome and served very kindly and warmly. The rooms, while being perfectly clean, offer antique furniture with matching wallpaper. Upon entering the room, it feels as if you've traveled back in time! The hotel is five minutes away from the train station. From there you can take a bus to the old city, but you can reach it by foot too within 15 minutes following the nearby Salzach river. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired and is included in the price. Definitively recommended.

Awesome hotel! It's close to the Salzburg Main Station, where there are plenty of buses to take to the tourist spots. Even though it's in the city center, it was really quiet in that area, which was great for us. The staff are friendly and helpful. They helped us to find the right bus to a tourist spot that we didn't know how to get there. We got a room with a very European-styled bed, which was amazing, as we thought the rooms with that bed were full. Breakfast food was delicious, and there are a lots of food you can choose from. My favorite was definitely the strawberry yogurt. Such a memorable stay!

Stayed here two nights, would have stayed longer if time allowed. The place has parking which is a big convenience in this area. The staff was very friendly and helpful with recommendations on the dos/don'ts of the area. Breakfast was included and plentiful with cheeses, lunch meats, fruit, cereal, yogurt, bread/croissants, etc… Room was cozy and clean with enough room for two people and their luggage. Hotel is located 20 min walk from old town,. Easy can do and if you stay in town longer than two days, by taking different ways to/from you get to see more of the city. Not your 5 star hotel,. But certainly a 5 star experience for us.

Old hotel, all dusty, uncomfortable bed, super Rude owner! I had booked two nights but could only stay one because the bed was so hard that I could not sleep! It was a hellish heat and the room had not fan! The Hotel Owner was a thick and even charge a broken window I have no idea what it is! Avoid at all costs! Away from the center! Sucks.

You immediately feel very welcome. Very nice people in the nice and cozy Hotel. Always come back happy.

Clean and friendly. Good value. Although not in the center of town, it was close enough. It was only a 30 minute walk to old town with toddlers. The room was medium sized and clean. The breakfast was nice and staff is lovely. It was quiet and has parking. Though not the best we've stayed in, we would reccomend or stay in again.

In our room the space was very crammed.
