We spent the night as part of the Great State Voucher and had a balcony room with a beautiful view over looking the golf course. The rooms were neat and tidy. Dinner in the bistro was delicious. Had a nice relaxing spa bath and in the morning hubby played a round of golf. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back again.

Four nights and was very relaxing. Staff were great, food excellent and walk straight out onto first tee. Really great experience. We will come back again.

Stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and it was spacious and clean. Great amenities with pool, sauna and spa and impressive grounds. Housekeeping provided when and as requested. The bistro was nice and had tasty food. Friendly staff. The only downside was that the apartment had no clocks anywhere. It would be great to have a small vacuum for guests as it can get messy with kids. Overall, great experience and will definitely be back. Thank you!

Spacious, clean rooms. Spa bath in room is excellent. Nice hot sauna to relax those muscles after a full hiking day or whatever. A great place to stay after a day out on The Fleurieu.

Lovely 3 night stay great room and spa bath. Daughter loves the indoor pool/spa/sauna. Staff helpful. They put on a small Easter egg hunt for the kids on Easter Sunday.

I have been coming to the McCracken Country Club for a few years and it is one of my favourite places to stay, so relaxing and peaceful. Reception staff are always very friendly although housekeeping staff have let go of the quality of cleanliness of rooms in 2020 which is disappointing considering it should be cleaner during a pandemic. Front house manager Susan not very helpful but hopefully 2021 is a better year…

Worst hotel I've stayed in, left at 12 30am since we weren't going to be able to sleep with loud neighbours anyway. Key cards are terrible. Heater struggled to work and bathroom smelt bad without a fan.

I had booked a weekend at this resort for April 2020. Cancelled due to Coronavirus recommendations. Was told I would get full refund. Numerous emails and phone calls and still no refund. Was told by the resort not their problem as I booked through a third party. When I booked online I believed it was directly through the resort. The third party who I’ve never heard of won’t reply and the resort have wiped their hands. $400 gone and I’m not happy!

Staff were friendly, could have been more helpful, in regards to having water and glasses on our table, as we did make a booking. Food nice, although did take a while to get to the table. Nice view of the golf course.

Had a wonderful stay a few weeks back, for a night away from the kids with my husband. Spa rooms was lovely We ate in the restaurant and the food was 10/10 the pork rib eye was delicious and had fun trying out a game of golf. All the staff had exceptional and friendly service. Will definitely do it again.

Seriously its hard to say 1 positive thing about this place. Our room is mediocre at best. Breakfast straight out of the bain marrie is freezing cold with very greasy less than half cooked bacon. Restaurant not open on Sunday night however you can order room service at a $6 delivery charge fm across the hallway. The beetroot and quinoa sounds lovely however is only 1/2 a bag of spinach leaves 3 bits of tinned beetroot and a small handful of quinoa. The reception staff camnot be bothered to say hello even though they make eye contact. We can't even use the spa as the plug does not fit and therefore it cannot hold the water.
I'd really like to have something positive to say but I can't. Really people DO NOt waste $200 per nigjt here.

Spent the weekend there last weekend and I love it cannot wait to go back again. The staff were extremely friendly in all areas of the club, facilities are great and fantastic food. 10 out of 10

Food was the worst I have ever had. Ordered the vegetable and haloumi skewers which sounded great on the menu. Sadly it consisted of 3 slices of zucchini and a tonne of 'haloumi' with half a plate of sour cream and some rocket which was so drowned in oil I couldn't even eat it. Very disappointing. Luckily I dined with good company. I will never be back.

My go to place! I go every once in 3-4 months. I love this place so much! Their service is amazing. A good place to get away and relax from the boring daily lifestyle. This place will always be my no. 1 favourite place! I miss their day spa and hope they bring it back!

Beautiful location, we had a golf course facing room which saw a beautiful sunset. Close to the town (5 mins drive), good amenities.

This accommodation is comfortable and quiet. It is great if you are a golfer. The room I stayed in was very clean and comfortable. Meals were good too and the range of drinks were extensive. Both my wife and I enjoyed our second stay immensely.

We've stayed here often, seems to be somewhat outdated lately and a bit on the grotty side, particularly the dining areas. The glass areas in the dining area had finger prints all over them. The staff are robotic, they do their job but there's no above and beyond happy type attitudes.

Didnt stay there but had a meal. The food was very affordable. Great service. Very nice staff very friendly. Would go back there no problems.

Comfortable rooms but the steak dinner I had there was the worst meal I've attempted to eat in years. (I eat dinner in restaurants 4 to 5 days a week. ) The steak was flavorless and so tough I could barely cut it with the knife let alone chew it. Potatoes tasted horrible. The bucket mix gravy had 3 tiny pieces of mushroom in it so they could call it mushroom sauce. Most of the meal went in the bin as it was inedible.

I’ve stayed here on a few occasions over the years and will return where possible. The views are amazing, the staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. We required a late check-in which they facilitate well for. The rooms were excellent, complimentary breakfast included in our package was a lot better then most. Our highlight though was the (6) very friendly magpies that visited our balcony each morning… thankfully they enjoyed plain Pringles from the mini bar and gave us a song or two in return. If I could flaw anything in our stay, while the rooms were well presented and tidy, I did notice some additional thorough cleaning required on walls and tiles. Aside from that, I was again impressed with their services, meals and accomodation.

I love this course. Good fairways and greens are quick and well maintained. Club house is looking a bit tired.

Very tired. Door card keys failed to work on 2 occasions and had to be reprogrammed. Not as clean as we expected. Wardrobe inadequate especially for multi-day stays — 4 coat hangers. Good room size. In room facilities OK. Dinner magnificent.

Could do with a refurb but the customer service is first class and we really enjoyed the food and swimming facilities.

Very slow service at bistro/bar. Nice club and location. Pokies a waste of time and too little space between machines to place handbag/cup and saucer.

From the elevated clubhouse and adjoining 1st and 10th tees, McCracken offers commanding views — stretching out into the distance are the Fleurieu Peninsula's scenic, partly-forested, rolling hills. On this ambitious, resort-style layout, water hazards (and occasional cascading water features) are something you'll encounter on several occasions, with many holes defended by small lakes and ponds. Maintenance standards are good without necessarily being immaculate, on this testing, undulating layout.

This was a awesome place to stay, we had an upstairs room with great views and its very quite. Meal here was brilliant. Would definitely return here for another stay.

Beautiful relaxed setting to have a meal with friends. The rural view from the Resturant is stunning looking out to the golf course.

Our room had a foul odor like the sheets weren't changed, smelled like an old sweaty man, we had to change rooms. Was NOT happy. Staff needs to clean rooms properly. Poor form.

Lovely room with spa bath. Bed hard. Great restaurant. Lovely food. Swimming pool and Spa and Sauna and gym and you can play golf.

An uninspiring weekend away. The breakfast was a little medicore and limited. Our room was right in front of a tall tree and totally blocked the view. For a Sunseeker package offer we were disappointed with what was offered. The room was clean and comfortable. The facilities available were very good but overall left us very unimpressed.

My partner and I stayed there last night 21st December after travelling extremely long hours from Sydney. We cannot thank the staff enough for going out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Everything from having enough parking for our trailer, front desk service and late night meal delivery to our room was exactly what we needed at the time, they really took the time to attend to our every need. We WILL DEFINITELY be staying here again!

Very disappointed as we've stayed here before in a self contained house. The room we stayed in was very noisy, we could hear the staff downstairs talking at 6:30am & vacuuming at 11:30pm. We could also hear the wedding that was on one of the nights (included guests arguing outside our window). The breakfast was average & the bed was extremely uncomfy. Even the simple things like the towels were worn & torn. Disappointed & won't stay again.

We were very unimpressed with our $260 a night room. It was obvious our room had not been turned over since the last guest. There was dirty towels in the bath, whiskers in the sink, used soap and shampoo in the shower, the bed was not made and the water jug was almost empty. We were there for a wedding so we didn’t arrive till late, by the time we got to our room to discover all of this we were not in the mood for complaining and just went to sleep. I would have filled out the guest comments section in our room but there was no pen. I hope this was just a very rare instance and usually people seem very happy with your rooms. It’s just unfortunate and we will not be returning. For that price we expect the basics at the very least.

Fantastic place to stay, the pool & spa were amazing along with their dining options. The bistro was incredible the traditional chicken parmy was SO good, huge meal so make sure you go there hungry & the $15 hot & cold buffet breakfast was sensational, all staff I interacted with were so helpful & a special mention to the Maintenance Manager & Housekeeping Manager, both such lovely people who do an amazing job, well done to you both, you certainly made us feel really welcome, nothing was to much trouble, the resort are lucky to have these 2 staff along with everybody else I interacted with, I will definitely be back, next time for 3 nights at a minimum so I can enjoy your great hospitality more — thanks again for such a lovely stay.

Last two meals, one lunch and one dinner were woeful. Prices up, serve size down, and side salad couldn't get any smaller if you tried. Served up in a what most would consider a side sauce dish. Waited forever for the plates to be cleared after the meal and it wasn't because it was busy, only 3 tables of people were there. As a local resident who has been a patron for many years, I will no longer be going to McCracken for meals, nor take our visiting guests there nor make a recommendation to eat there as I have over the past 20 plus years. I'd give a half star rating if I could.

Good for relax. Beautiful views and great facilities. Will go there again. But no bathrobes as advertised.

The food at the restaurant was not the best. The rooms are good though. Conference centre is well set out and the amenities are good.

Our party loved their meals except me! The salt and pepper squid was too tough. Keep up the good work though.

The service was excellent. The facilities are very good and the additions are certainly beautiful. We stayed in one of the s superior spa apartments with 2 young children and it worked very well (although not would have been a problem). The on-site bottle-o has a good selection of wines from local boutique producers.

My fiance, 2yo daughter and I absolutely LOVED our stay! For $99 we stayed for one night in an absolute luxury suite (with a spectacular view over the course) ; got access to the exquisitely designed pool, spa and sauna among the other feaures they offer. Highly recommend the hot breakfast buffett… heaven on a bottomless plate! We all had a wonderful time. It was very child friendly as well as relaxing for us. We are coming back again next month for longer and hope to make monthly visits.

Room is tidy and modern. It is also quite spacious and plenty of supplies, such as ironing, clothes hangers, drawers, sitting areas etc. A stunning golf field which gives a stunning view. My wife and I have enjoyed every moment here, with the highlight of the delicious dinner in the Encounter room.

We arrived at the club for a quick light lunch before check in and it was delicious and very well priced. Reception then let us check in half an hour early. Room was lovely, bed very comfy and nice pillows. Spa bath was great and worked well. The one and only negative we had was the info book in the room didnt have a map so we had to go ask reception each time where the pool, gym, and laundry room were. We made a booking for dinner and got a great table with view of the course and dinner was delicious. Our room was a loft room just above the reception, and right near the stairs so from 7.00 onwards we heard suitcases thumping down the stairs by guests leaving, but that isn't the clubs fault, just guests not being mindful of others sleeping still. We would definitely recommend people stay there if visiting the area.

Great staff and lovely location. Food only ok and rooms dated. Need to service heaters as they were so rediculously noisy I couldn't leave it on and was freezing.

Staff show and overnight stay, our presedential suite had no pay TV but standards did… I missed the footy — sad face. The restaurant meal was very average and one meal never arrived. Our vegetarian colleague was offered wedges or a side salad as available options… really!

Good food and good service. Nightly specials are great.

5 star only for service and friendly staff We stay here once a year if were lucky twice. This place is our getaway. I really hope management read all these reviews as the food is bland, dull and tasteless I guess depending on what you order. As you cant go wrong with good old fish n chips. Dining area needs a re paint and clean up. Air con is filthy. Would stay again. But will get take away or eat out. Its a shame. As this place is beautiful over looking the golf course.

Staff where very friendly and helpful, thats pretty much the only good thing we can take out of our stay. We where unhappy with our first room aircon unit was extremely loud, bed very uncomfortable and unfortunately dinner was a dissapointment. The hotel staff sorted us out with another room (Upgrade) for our second night. The aircon was even louder to the point where we had to turn it off to sleep, the bathroom smelled of sewer, the milk in the mini bar was off, stained carpet and dirty walls. The two night stay cost us $440. We would recommend seeking other accommodation in Port Elliot.

Got a balcony spa room for $100 p/night. The room was average size with a small table inside and out on the balcony. The spa bath was a welcome addition. The only downside was no separation between the two rooms on the balcony.

Great place to stay, clean and has beautiful scenery. Wish pools were open longer though but safety reasons I guess.

Reception and room excellent. Bar service (blond female and tall mail, short hair) very indifferent. Food took 55 mins (2 T bones rare). Bistros staff had couldn't care less attitude.
